My husband and I frequent Yard House often and we love the vegan and vegetarian options. Yesterday we dined with my sister and her kids and a friend. My 1 year old nephew however after enjoying his fries and some milk became very sick! Projectile vomiting all over the table, himself the floor and on me since I was holding him. Immediately our waitress, Angela J ran over and began to help and left to grab more rags and bags. My sister and I had to leave to the car for a few to clean up the baby and myself and when we came back, Angela had already cleaned the area and there was no indication that there was anyone sick on the table! I come here every so often when I visit my sister but recently I became a vegan so I was a little apprehensive about going here since my diet has changed but to my surprise they have a large selection of vegan options. They have Gardein products on their menu which is great and also a few of their own dishes too. Being that I make Gardein dishes at home, I opted for their own vegan burger which was delicious. I loved that our server reiterated what was in the menu stating that the fries are fried in the same oil as the other food and suggested other sides. I went for the stir fry veggies. I am only giving 2 stars food which was great , but service was lacking very much , I had my service dog with me which he laid right down out of the way, I am not sure who was our waiter or waitress, I asked to be seated at a table not a booth, a waiter came to get our order after about 15 mins , he got our order wrong , I asked for water with a lemon / plus a ginger ale .my niece ordered a beer ? Another waitress brought water to my dog .which she was nice even though she wasn't our waitress, waiter didn't give us napkins / no silverware, even after our food was brought to our table by yet another waitress. No one asked if everything was ok.??? It was a Sunday afternoon, so I get that it was busy, but not busy enough that there wasn't a line for seats when we got in, so it couldn't have been that bad. Perhaps we came on a bad afternoon, but with so many of my friends raving about this place, I definitely expected better. I got the vampire taco vampire style, and the Baja fish taco. My wife got their chicken Mac and cheese with a side salad. Vampire style means that there's cheese fried crispy and stuck to the tortilla, but the texture was like the taco was sitting there for a while. The fish taco was bland along with the rice and beans that came with it. The only thing that saved this from being a one star review was that chicken Mac and cheese. I was in the area and came in for lunch because they had vegan options. The food was pretty good but the vegan burger was a bit salty. Maybe trying to accommodate for flavor since it vegan but more spices could have worked better than laying on the salt. They have a variety of options for beer on tap. Yard House is a decent sports bar/restaurant. The place was packed when we came here for dinner on a Sunday night (NFL football game time). The wait was not too bad. The hostess said 35 minutes but we were seated within 25. This location is at the Dedham Legacy Place, and parking can be tough. There is surface lot parking as well as a parking garage. Service was good and met expectations. Our server offered some suggestions on appetizers and meals. Overall the food was good--we had the coconut shrimp (excellent) for an appetizer as well as clam chowder. I had a chicken dish for dinner (good) and my partner had a burger and sweet potato fries (also good). I would come back but not necessarily make this a regular place to come for dinner. It was early afternoon and NOT busy. We've learned to get one taco each to save money but they literally took 20 minutes to come out. As an app. The bartender never bothered to check on them. At one point, she huddled over near service bar chatting with the barback and she walked by another time looking at her watch, and empty place settings laid out in front of us, but not saying a word. The last issue I have is that no one seems to enjoy working there. The bartender seemed like smiling hurts; didn't really feel greeted by a host, nor were we wished a good day upon exit. For expensive, ok-food and expensive ok-drinks, I dunno, I feel like things need to improve. It definitely won't be a spot I'd go back to anytime soon and believe the reviews. I was here on a date. Like, in April. It was a night full of high hopes and mediocre results all around, but have no fear, my assessment of my date does not influence my assessment of the Yard House. Maybe I got a bad night. People who's opinions I would readily trust seem to have really enjoy this place, but I was not impressed. We walked in an I found the decor to be stark and too dim. I feel like a brewery or brewpub should be warm and inviting. A place you'd like to linger and try a few. This place says "come on in, but hurry out." They also claim to have the most draft beers on tap IN THE WORLD. Given that I've been to at least six places that have more beer on tap than the Yard House, I feel cheated. Now, I visited their website, apparently some places have way more beers on tap than others. So maybe the chain meets the claim, but not Dedham. As an appetizer, my date ordered onion rings. They were okay. I suppose they were very good for what they were and the presentation on them was quite unique. For my meal I went with grilled cheese and tomato bisque. It's a no fail choice, in my mind. I can be fancy and full of flavor and plain but comforting. Grilled cheese and tomato soup is always a win. Except at the Yard House. The grilled cheese, despite it's plethora of cheeses, was bland and greasy. Like, really greasy. Like I felt nauseated after eating half greasy. And the tomato bisque was watery and dull. My server really capped off the evening. He was creepy. Like, for real creepy. Over attentive in a way that made you want to bathe afterward. Hell, he made my date appealing. And that says a lot. Not sure what their deal is lately but the last two trips there have been less than impressive. We recently made a reservation for 12 of us and they completely screwed up just about everything. It took nearly an hour just to get our beverages and appetizers and another 90 minutes us to wrap up our meal. We also had people in our party that were visiting from Europe and it took 3 staff members to check the passports for authenticity. It caused problems and pains and no one ever really apologized for it. When the food finally arrived, some of it was screwed up. They served the wrong dishes to the wrong people and had to re-fire a couple of things. Nothing was comped once again and no apologized for made. I used to love this place but lately it's gone seriously downhill. The staff just doesn't seem to have it together and it has made for some pretty painful experiences as of late. I really hope that they work on improving things, or I'll have to find another watering hole nearby to satisfy my thirst for craft beer. And as of our waitress for the day, Shannon, she was borderline rude and quite inattentive. Definitely the worst one I've had there. My friend and I came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. First off, the place was packed but we had no trouble getting a table and getting served. First off, the beer list is quite impressive and the "yard" in "Yard House" does in fact mean there are yards to be consumed. So if you're in to quantity (maybe over quality?) drinking, this is a viable option for you. But at any rate, we had a great server named Ryan that was super fast and super polite. My friend and I each had one of the Harpoon raspberry beers. I don't like raspberries, but it was a little sweet and perfect on a hot day. The portion sizes are ridiculous, and the prices are relatively reasonable for the quantity of food you receive. We started off with the spinach-artichoke dip that was served with fresh baked pitas. In hindsight, we should have just split two appetizers, but we were starving. My friend had a burger and I had a chicken sandwich. There was certainly more bread than chicken served with a pile of fries. But the food was good and it hit the spot. This is certainly the place to go for good pub food and great service. The service was good but we kept having different people come to our table instead of just our waitress. I typically love the Yardhouse. I went last Saturday and was extremely disappointed. The service was great, the ambiance and beer is always great but the food was just so bad. I ordered the Korean pork belly tacos with spicy rice and beans. The rice seemed as if it came right out of the fridge and the taco shells were supposed to be soft but were stale and the beans were ice cold as well. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch, the bruins were on so the place was pretty packed. Waited for about 15 minutes, which was fun but annoying because I saw multiple open tables. They were out of Bud Light, which I thought was weird bc it's a brew house and that's a really popular beer. The server was ok, came over to check on us a few times but as I stated the place was busy and they must have been extremely understaffed. The side plates they and setting the waiter gave us were dirty. I got the nachos as an appetizer, they were really good but we waiting like 40 minutes for them. So excited to have a Yard House in Dedham! This is a small national chain - I think there are only like 19 in the country? I heard about Yard house before they opened here because they got national recognition when they started to carry Gardein products. When they opened I was glad to see they also had the vegetarian menu with Gardein! Gardein is a vegan substitute for meat that works just like meat as far as grilling/frying/sauteeing/texture goes. You can get chicken fingers, burgers, Caesar salads, etc. with chicken but not actually chicken. They also have a great drink selection - including a ton of beer on tap. My friend's a bar tender there - he's awesome (hi Kyle!). I went once about 7 months ago before my friends and I went to a movie next door. I got a "chicken" Asian salad with Gardein. So good and so filling! It's nice to have vegetarian/vegan options that fill you up. Thank you so much Yard house. I will certainly make an effort to start going to you more! (especially now that someone I know works there!) The thing is - is that I usually get a quick bite when I'm at Legacy Place before we go to a movie or to shop. So I need to be better about giving myself more time to sit down and enjoy my meal. It gets crazy crowded on Friday and Saturday nights - sometimes capacity is full and you have to wait till people leave in order to go inside. I've been to this Yard House many times, because they are great at checking on my allergy every time I go. The food is also excellent, I've only had one thing that I thought was okay, the rest of everything I've tried has been excellent, especially the Korean BBQ beef. Service is also wonderful at this restaurant. I rarely have an empty water or iced tea, food is always served with a smile and the waiters, waitresses, host saff and managers are all very friendly. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a good solid meal, but if you go during prime time be prepared to wait! read more
