I have been to this Del Frisco's in Westwood several times over the past 5 years. It never ceases to disappoint. So why go there? Essentially, the first time I went here, I had just arrived by train from Philadelphia, and I was very tired and very hungry. I sat at the bar (the interior is actually quite lovely, and clearly helps to draw customers) along side younger, trendier couples. The bartenders were good, and made a proper Manhattan, but at a price that might make you wince. The menu was not particularly interesting--more like standard old steakhouse fare, without much creativity or flourish, but the prices were not unlike Capital Grille or Grill 23. A NY strip was around $60, a la carte. I saw a man at the bar had one, and frankly it looked rather sad. So I decided that I would get a French Dip type sandwich. Sounded safe... It was, er, okay. Very little meat, it was mostly bread. The au jus was good (not overly salty) but in all, for about $25, it was indeed inferior to the $15 ones at many other spots. But that was the best meal I would ever eat there! Second trip was with my girlfriend and her son, for her son's birthday. He had a boneless ribeye, his mother had a special (beef stroganoff) and I ordered the NY strip. Both of us found our steaks to be overly stringy, and my strip had gristle that was too thick and turned my plate into a mess! The creamed spinach was not particularly good, and the mushrooms that were ordered with the ribeye were not seasoned (and for what those mushrooms cost, one could have purchased and enjoyed a proper spinach and mushroom salad). The stroganoff also was not properly seasoned, and appeared to have been thrown together. I apologized that I should have insisted on a better steakhouse. The lemon and whipped cream dessert was probably the single best presentation for our $225 (plus tip) meal. A waste... The final trip was again after a train from Penn Station, after a 2-day business trip. Not to repeat my previous errors, I ordered the very overpriced bone-in ribeye. At one-third of the price they charge, it would have been okay (MAYBE!). For $89, it was shameful. It was also not evenly cooked, so at one end it was more overcooked than the medium rare I had ordered, and by the bone it was very rare. Throw in the wedge salad (at nearly $20) and a glass of red wine, i emerged with an empty wallet and a decision never to repeat this mistake. If you are still undecided, I urge you that one can do much better at half the price, and at their prices, just go to a proper steakhouse instead! read more

The ambiance is very nice with modern, clean and chic decor. Dress code is casual to dressy. Steaks were cooked to our orders but a little under season. The garlic herb butter helped the flavor but still needed a sprinkling of salt. Asparagus was cooked in butter and needed more season. Truffle Mac and cheese definitely needed a lot of seasoning. Brussels sprouts with bacon Lardo were tasty and crispy. Wedge salad with blue cheese dressing and bacon was good; great amount of dressing. I could've done without the Philly cheesesteak eggrolls. The presentation was off putting with the random splatters of sauces on the plate and when did Thai chili dipping sauce go with Philly cheesesteak? 3.5 stars My friends and I planned to come here for dinner on a Friday. One of my friends made a reservation just to be safe but I think you might be good to walk in if you did not plan ahead. We were seated at a booth, which was extremely comfortable and I liked that it was raised so we were almost eye level with our waitress which makes communication easier. We started off with two appetizers: the cheesesteak eggrolls and the sticky garlic ribs. The cheesesteak egg roll portion was smaller than I was expecting for the price and it was the first time I had seen it cut this way, making it look more like bone marrow. It was delicious though but I do wish it came with a dipping sauce of some sort. The sticky garlic ribs were also good with very tender meat, but I did not taste too much of the garlic flavor because the Gochujang Honey Glaze sauce was overpowering. I liked the flavor of the sauce, it was very sweet, savory, and thick. For my entrée, I went with the black angus steak frites. I thought the fries would be a bit thinner, but they were decent nonetheless. I should have asked for a different dipping sauce besides the ketchup it came with for more flavor. The steak itself did not impress me; it lacked flavor, was a bit tough, and did not have that grilled, charred flavor I was hoping to get. The chimichurri sauce did help but I wish there was more of it. Overall the food was good, but I am being more critical since it is more expensive than some places, and is a restaurant that has a reputation of delivering quality food. There is plenty of parking and the staff is really friendly and hospitable. The bathrooms have really nice napkins, almost too good where you feel bad using them. read more

Realizing that we had a reservation on Easter Sunday, we expected a crowded dining room with reasonable delays in service as a result. Our server was pleasant and professional and very apologetic as the service delays were extremely lengthy. We were seated at noon. We ordered appetizers shortly thereafter. At 12:55PM I spoke to the manager as 2 parties that arrived after our party were served their appetizers. Ours arrived one hour and 5 minutes after we ordered them. The salads we ordered with our meals arrived before the appetizers. Our meals arrived 35 minutes after the appetizers. The other 2 parties again received their meals before we did. Again, it was Easter and one should expect reasonable delays in service. However, our dinner experience exceeded 2.5 hours. We had 2 children in our party who were almost in tears waiting for their food - thankfully, we had some fruit roll ups to tide them over. Lastly, my gentle conversation with the manager should have been the catalyst for him to come visit our table. He chose not to do so. The hostess and the server should be commended for the extra steps they took to show us that they were concerned about our experience. Thankfully, the food was delicious and we enjoyed our meals. This experience was not the greatest, but I would not let it taint the reputation of this restaurant location. I will say that the Manager should take heed of these comments and despite the holiday environment, pay better attention to those who gently reach out during their dining experience. read more

Our server was horrible. We didn't see her much at all and when we did she wasn't concerned with the table presence at all. I had to call over a different server a couple times to get a busser over to help her. We ran out of water and drinks several times to the point where I went over to the service area and grabbed the pitcher to pour my own water (she was filling her other tables). Another guest at my table grabbed his own drink from the service bar after looking at it for 10 min. 20 min since he ordered it. We had them clear the table of silverware and app plates before entrees and no forks were given to replace the ones we used already. We ended up loving the busser that came by and another server that was helping just cause he was in the area. I understand that the server was probably new but management could have done better to not crush her. We also spent $600 for 4 people. It could have easily been more if she was more attentive. The manager did come over to bring the food but never was concerned with our experience. Rickie was amazing, he made the night for us, along with the server that induced himself as Albanian (sorry we don't remember your name). It would be a 5 star otherwise. Food was amazing. Came for the rigatoni bolognese- was told it was phenomenal, the best dish there! It was yellow, though, which for me was an off-putting color. It tasted like mac n cheese and a real bolognese had a baby. It rather expensive and the portion size was fine but not enough for leftovers. First, the good: - ambience and decor is amazing - bar is huge, patio looks great, setup also great - I was able to get a day-of reservation for 5 - our server was very pleasant The ok: - food was... fine. But for the cost, it really wasn't worth it. For context, the cost is the same as a tier 1 steakhouse in Boston, e.g. Abe & Louie's or Grill 23 (or Del Frisco's in the Seaport). My 8oz filet was $52 for reference. The not-so-good: The wait for food was unfathomable. There were only a handful of other people in the dining room. More on the patio and some in the bar. But we waited some 45 minutes from ordering until our food arrived. Our server, who as I say was very pleasant and good, was covering what appeared to be the whole restaurant. So there were delays in attending to us. Again, food was fine. But not close to what I'd expect at that cost and from what I consider a tier 1 steakhouse. And that wait... yowsa. Just so evident either the staff model is broken or they had some glitch in how they covered the tables that evening. I think the next time I'm in that area we'll just go to the Not Your Average Joe's next door or somewhere similar. read more

What happened to this place? I've been coming here for around 10 years and the quality of food and service has gone downhill. I felt this way two years ago and decided to give it another try and was worse. Cheesesteak egg rolls were once the most delicious I've ever had. They are now deflated, tasteless and mushy. For $20 for two egg rolls they are not worth it. The burger was ok. Nothing special. Fries were completely overcooked. For a steakhouse you should have a good burger in my opinion. The final straw was the Lemon cake. Tastes like stale refrigerator. Almost like they are storing it with other foods uncovered. It was not edible. Upon entry, my family waited a long time without acknowledgment, despite servers noticing us. Only a manager finally seated us. While we made a same-day reservation, the service was far below the standard we've experienced at the Boston locations. Not sure if this is typical for prime dinner hours but beware if you're looking for attentive service. Furthermore, we were seated at a very drafty table by the entrance on a cold December night, which was uncomfortable that we had to request the heat be adjusted. It was notable that a larger party was seated in the more sheltered rear section. I came by myself to enjoy a nice steak and glass of wine or at least that was my intention. I sat down at the bar, but the two bartenders, Stacey and Mimi, did not acknowledge me for 20-25 minutes. There was no greeting, no menus, no water, nothing. they were doing glasses right in front of me, so it dident appear they were overwhelmed or "slammed". A simple acknowledgment, even just to say that they would be with me shortly would have went.a LONG way. Instead I felt uncomfortable and unwelcomed so I left and went next door to not your average joe, where I received, immediate, friendly service for a much lower price and was good food. because of this experience I will not be returning to this location and will be telling my family and friends to not go there if those bartenders are there. I've gotten so used to posting negative and disappointing reviews to warn fellow consumers on Amazon, Open Table and the like, so I was more than happy to share our experience and post a positive review for a change. Del Frisco's at Westwood hosted our son's high school graduation celebration in their Commonwealth Room on Saturday, 17May2025. The regional event coordinators were responsive and patient with my questions and requests. The restaurant's general manager was accommodating and equally responsive to place setting and seating adjustments, corrections to printed menus, and last-minute room set-up needs. The servers assigned to our event were terrific and provided great service, anticipated guest needs and kindly accepted ala carte requests. The food was excellent - prepared according to individual guest's orders and delivered in a timely cadence. They even kept track of guests who played "musical chairs" and brought their meals to wherever they were sitting. Our fantastic event experience at Del Frisco's in Westwood capped off a worry-free perfect day of celebration for our son's high school graduation. I would wholeheartedly recommend them to host your next group dining event with them. read more

Del Frisco's is always a solid meal and experience. We go here a few times per year since it is on the pricier side. The filet is done to perfection. The brussels sprouts were really good, definitely recommend. The mashed potatoes were very garlicy, which is not my thing. We did celebrate with a chocolate torte which might be my favorite. They put a candle in it since they knew we were celebrating. I would not personally bring my kids here since it's on the pricey side and I want to enjoy my meal. Del Frisco's is my new favorite steakhouse! My boyfriend and I decided to try this place for dinner last Saturday at the suggestion of a friend. We are sure glad we did. Everything about our experience was exceptional. The food was mouth- watering delicious. We shared the cheese steak egg rolls as an appetizer (we highly recommend these!) and we both ordered the Braised Short Rib for our entree, which was so tender it fell off the bone. We also tried the butternut squash bisque and a side of Brussel sprouts with bacon. Yum! Our server Katie was very helpful and right on point with making great suggestions for what to order. She really made us feel at home. The ambience is trendy and upscale and the booths are spaced far enough apart so that you have your own privacy. I appreciated that our food came out quickly even though they were busy. Thank you for making our Saturday evening so enjoyable. We will definitely be back! Wedge Salads should be at least a quarter of a head of large lettuce, not a 1/5 of a baseball. 2nd time this has happened. We've been to this location many times and have always been satisfied. Came here on December 19th with my husband for a holiday lunch. The restaurant was not that busy but we had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. Fair enough. We were seated and were greeted by our waiter and drink orders were taken. After 15 minutes with no drinks delivered we inquired as to the status of our drinks. Our waiter told us that the bartender was slammed. He was not. The bar was basically empty and he was standing around. Our entire section of the restaurant waited for our drinks. Other patrons were inquiring as to their drinks as well. One table waited forever for a soda. After at least 35 minutes our drinks arrived. Service was very slow. Took forever to get our food as well. $250 for lunch for two people with one drink each deserved much better service. So disappointed in this place. There was no manager visible during our entire stay. One would assume that the manager would jump behind the bar and straighten this out. It was kind of a prix fixe menu with pepperoni flatbread served family-style as the appetizer. It was good, probably the best part of the meal. We had two choices for the dessert and I had a chocolate torte with strawberry sauce and it was pretty good. Cesar salad as one of the salad options was fine. The vegetarian option out of the four main options was AWFUL. It was just labeled "vegetarian pasta" and it was literally just rigatoni, some veg, oil and some ribbons of basil. Again, it was fine, but so basic. The pasta was something I would've cooked badly in my early twenties. Way overcooked, broken pieces, stuck together. Portions were big, which would've been good if the food was good, but I didn't finish anything I was served. Also, there was some sewage issue so it smelled awful as you got closer to the bathrooms. Women's room was fine but only one person could go in at a time. Will never return. read more

Worth the wait! I took my best friend here last night for her birthday. It was impromptu so we didn't make reservations and had about an hour wait. When we were seated, the restaurant was vibrant and buzzing. Our server was as very attentive and gave great service throughout our meal. We started off with the steak and cheese egg rolls which were just ok. My friend got the corn bisque and said it was good. I ordered the seared sesame tuna which was raw and delicious. Got the truffle mac and cheese which was tasty. My friend got a steak and brussel sprouts which she enjoyed. We were celebrating a milestone for my friend so we got a couple rounds of non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. When my friend asked for a mocktail, our waitress told us they didn't have those and couldn't make the drinks on the menu a mocktail. The shutting down of requests by our waitress continued throughout the evening. My friend went to the bar to ask for a mocktail that the bartender happily made. We ordered the shrimp cocktail, spinach dip, Caesar salad (not pictured), and the herbs shrimp. All of the food was pretty good, except the herbed shrimp was bland and needed additional seasoning. Bonanza Steak, Elite Prices. Went this evening and ordered onion soup and a NY Strip with mushrooms. My guest had the salmon. All of it came at once and the soup without a spoon for 15 minutes. The steak was a smaller NY strip but at $54 wasn't stellar. The mushrooms were lukewarm with some actually cold as if they were out of some food warmer tub. Awful with pretentiousness. But the lemon butter creme cake was beyond awful. It had more fridge taste than lemon. We left half of it there. All tolled, $180 for a miserable experience. read more

He really did a great job of making us feel welcome and genuinely seemed to care that we had a very good experience. The hostess was also very sweet.
