Crab cakes were amazing, they had some sweet mango that really played well together. The chicken tortilla soup was another hit. It was slightly spicy, yet still full of flavor. Can honestly say the best tortilla soup I've ever had. The BBQ cheddar bacon burger was ok. The BBQ sauce on the burger is something to come back for, another home run. Came here for a quick bite with my boyfriend. I've been here before but a long time ago and definitely didn't remember how big their beer menu was! I took my servers recommendation and tried the Blanche De Bruxelles. It was reminiscent of Blue Moon (which is one my favorites). Light and crispy and definitely went great with the tacos I had as a main course. When I went there it just so happened to be national taco day so getting the Baja Chicken Tacos was definitely a happy coincidence. My boyfriend got their Grilled Chicken and Avocado sandwich, he enjoyed it (but I think the tacos were better). Overall, I was happy with the food and service but there was nothing that made them stand out to get the 5th star. I heart the plethora of beers that the Yardhouse has on tap. Don't know what you're in the mood for? They will most likely have something for you. The waiters are helpful in recommending beers for your taste as well. I like the location of the Yardhouse too. It is situated in a former Naval Air Station so it's cool to walk around before or after your meal and see parts of the Naval Air Station in the facades. The food was meh. I wasn't overly impressed, but some of the food was still tasty. We arrived in time for the reverse happy hour so our dining consisted mainly of appetizers. All of the appetizer plates were HUGE so count on sharing it or using it to be your whole meal. The chicken nachos were mediocre. I favored the guac, sour cream, and pico de gallo (who doesn't?), but the chicken was very dry and I could have done without the refried beans. We also ordered the seared ahi -- my fave and that was pretty good. We also had the turkey burger sliders which were pretty tasty. My friend really appreciated how the burger was cooked and that it wasn't dried out and tough. I liked how the fries that same with the sliders were cooked well -- thin and crispy -- yummy! I like that some of the food selections are good, but it's somewhat hit or miss. A more consistent performance of appetizers might bump up my rating. I like that the Yardhouse wasn't completely deserted on the late Monday night that we were there. There were still people around, ample amount of parking, and plenty of seating. It's very casual so it was great finding a place to eat and chat, without having to dress up. Great service -- our waiter was helpful, but not pushy. yay! I live an hour away from Glenview and my oh my, the drive was definitely worth it. I like the setup with the bar right in the middle and that it shows off the numerous draft beers, one of the really unique features of the Yard House. Also, I liked seeing booths specifically designed for large groups. We started with the chicken nachos. Now I am not the biggest nachos fan in the world, but these were far and away the best nachos I have ever tasted and I don't say that kind of thing easily. The chips were crisp and were topped with pinto beans, cheddar and jack cheese, chicken, red and green sauces, tomatoes, cilantro, onions, guacamole and sour cream. Everything tasted fresh, which is so rare the case with nachos. The cilantro, tomatoes, and green onions gave that fresh, vibrant taste. There were big chunks of chicken, my only complaint was there wasn't enough of it. Quality guacamole, which is essential to any order of nachos too! I would really get this every time I go back. Next I ordered the Cuban roast pork dip sandwich. Pressed french bread containing a lot of pork, roasted roma tomatoes, pepper jack , pickles, Dijon and garlic aïoli along with a side of BBQ au jus. The Dijon was a little strong, but the tomatoes and pickled helped balance the flavor. And I got the onion rings as my side. Dang, they know how to fry well. The onions were all very crisp with a delicious coating, and there was a nice taste of Miller lite in the batter as well. My companion ordered the NY strip sandwich and I got a taste. Now usually when you get a steak sandwich and it's one giant piece of beef, it is very hard to bite a piece of the steak off and you usually wind up cutting up the sandwich into small pieces. By contrast, this was one of the most tender pieces of beef I have ever had. It was cooked perfectly medium rare and I liked the fried onions on top as well. Plus, it had the same garlic aioli as the Cuban. The server did a fine job at keeping the drink glasses filled and did a good job at answering our menu questions, which we needed being first-timers. Granted the prices are a little higher than what I'd like and that's about the only reason I can't give it a 5-star rating. But for preparation and quality that good, I guess you get what you pay for. read more

We're regulars here and I have to share how well they handled a tough situation. YH was my birthday dinner choice and we happily sat after the usual wait. Our server Sarah was so friendly and cordial-- our drinks and apps showed up at a good pace. And then the entrees, which we thought were being sourced from Wagner Farms it took so long. Our server and manager made everything right and we remain big fans of one of the best run places in the area. Haven't visited Yard House since before the pandemic and the mostly for their tasty appetizers. Went the other day with a gift card for take out. Called my order into a really helpful and pleasant young woman. It was ready in twenty minutes. Picking up was equally pleasant. Ordered the French dip sandwich. Best I have had maybe ever. This continues part II of the suburban tour at a place filled with old memories (even though The Glen is relatively new). I went to the Yard to meet an old friend and his wife for drinks and food the other week to catch up after a hectic summer. It's an appropriate location since they live in the northwest suburbs and I'm coming from the city. It also happens to be the location where many nights have been spent swapping stories on vacation holidays during the college years. The suburbs are not know for having "bars" to hang out at, so the Yard House become a de-factor hang out whenever we returned from school. Because everyone's schedule allowed, we were able to meet early enough to take advantage of happy-hour - 50% off most appetizers. We ordered a plethora of drinks and food. If you've never been or heard of the Yard House, they have the most extensive on-tap beer list that I have ever seen (impressive because it's a chain). Everything tasted good and drank well. We were relaxed sitting on their outside patio trading stories and drinking good beer. I don't' know that I've ever been there for a complete "meal," but I'm sure you'd have a good time if you did. We ordered five appetizers to share and they were sufficient for the entire time. We had a good but not amazing spinach and artichoke dip, Chinese style chicken lettuce cups, fresh poke stack, chicken nachos and a battered shrimp dish. My favorites were the lettuce cups and nachos, though the poke stack wasn't bad. It's hard to compare poke in Illinois having just come from Hawaii and fresh-as-can-be poke. The shrimp dish wasn't bad, but we were full and it was a bit much at the end of our meal. Nachos are hard to mess up and I like the pile-on approach. That was our meal with lots of good draft beer all-around. Yes they have some decent food. If you dont mind FOOD POISONING!!! Both my friend and I went to eat here as we always did when he was in town from the Corps. This was december 30th and we both had woken up with hardcore food poisoning, ruining our New Years plans. what i dont get is that both our food was well cooked so either they served us old/bad food or their staff is freaking dirty. Aside from that, their food is over priced and they have HORRIBLE SERVICE. I have met 1 staff member there that i have found to be enjoyable, keep in mind i have been here tons of time because of its convenience. They have a great selection of beers though, and thats the only good thing about them. This is my go to place for happy hour. They have excellent prices on appetizers and drinks until 6pm during the week. They have a nice variety of beers , some brewed on site, and a large selection of hard liquor. They appetizers are really good. Fried Mac n cheese, flat bread pizza, nachos, are all winners in my book. Only app I've tried that was not my jam was the sliders. Service is always great. My boyfriend and I love the Yard House! On Friday-Sunday it is always packed, so expect a wait unless you want to sit at the bar-which we usually do. The bartenders are all super nice, attentive, and knowledgeable about the endless beers they have on tap. The beers are the real gem of the Yard House. They have over 100 amazing beers on tap-its a little overwhelming but AWESOME for beer enthusiasts! This isn't the place to go if you're trying to eat healthy-unless you make some specifications and changes when you order your dish, which I recently did and it was no problem for them at all. Between myself and the people I've gone with, I've had the Mac+Cheese, Vodka Shrimp Pasta, Chicken Enchilada Stack, Jerk Chicken with Shrimp Stack, Chicken Rice Bowl, Seared Sea Scallops, Spicy Jambalaya, Penne with Chicken, Onion Ring Tower, Guacamole & Chips, Classic Ranch Salad, and most recently the Chopped Salad. Every single one of these things was great and I would not hesitate to order them again. Their food menu is as extensive as their beer list, so whatever you're in the mood for, you can probably find. They also now feature vegetarian friendly versions of some of their most popular dishes that are made with Gardein. Most recently I had the chopped salad-I specified no bacon, no dressing, and add blackened chicken breast and romaine lettuce (it usually comes without lettuce)- it was fantastic-beautiful, fresh avocados splayed across the top along with tons of other fresh ingredients, and they handled my changes without a problem. The only thing that I would say though is that if they put in the wrong food or drink that you ordered and you tell them that then they will get you the drink or food that you ordered correctly and they won't charge you for the mistaken drink or food. I've been here a few times for the happy hour and enjoy the food. I think the happy hour appetizers is worth it and it's a huge selection. I went today for a friends birthday so it's my first time ordering full price entrees. I was happy with my parmesan crusted pork loin. The minus 2 stars is for the service. Our waitress was nice but mediocre. She refilled everyone's water once. After that, my friend asked for more water and she only filled hers. Then my other friend called her back for more water and pointed to my cup as well but she left without filling mine. She brought out our cake and provided forks and a knife but forgot plates. She didnt do anything on purpose because she apologized for forgetting the plates. But, my plate was a bit messy when I got it - sorry but not sorry, minus one star due to presentation. It's not on the wait staff but on the cooking staff. You guys should be a bit more attentive to one's plate - it was a mess and should be wiped down a bit nicely. Horribly slow service on a late Monday afternoon in a restaurant that was not full. We had to beg for water refills. The waiter brought our tea to the wrong table. After we ordered it the 2nd time. He gave us extra time to decide since this was my first visit (friend had been here many times). He got our orders in right away and we got our food mysteriously fast--probably within 7 minutes, but we also both ordered pretty basic sandwiches. I ordered the Turkey and Bacon melt which was perfectly toasted. The Swiss and Fontina cheeses complemented each other very nicely.
