Quite frankly the worst takeout order I have ever had. I placed an order for a taco combo and bread pudding dessert. The tacos were horrid: a piece of fried fish slapped on a tortilla with no sauce, no cabbage, and old avocado. Taco Bell (which I don't eat) probably would have been better. The side of rice was mushy and inedible. The bread pudding was also cold. I was absolutely disappointed and threw the whole meal in the trash. Yard House is a one and done for me. I saw the signs inside Arundel Mills Mall that a Yard House would be opening soon and was so excited. The food on the ads looked good and I love trying new restaurants. I ordered the avocado toast and was extremely disappointed. I almost sent it back, but was hungry. There's hardly any avocado on the toast. Four small pieces of onion and two cherry tomatoes, which were cut in half, on top. The two halves in the center of one toast were not fresh. See picture and look at the color. I took those off. Go to Fish Market Restaurant in Alexandria, VA if you want good avocado toast. Suggestion: Add more avocado to the toast, dice fresh onion and tomatoes and put on top. I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich as an entree and again, I was left disappointed. The chicken beast was big and disgusting, like it was pumped with steroids. I tasted a small piece and the first thing I noticed was the flavor of old grease, so I sent it back. After that I was afraid to try anything else, but decided on the pretzel and beer cheese. I figured how could they messed that up, boy was I wrong. Today was different because of our server Sean C. We both work in the restaurant industry as servers/ bartender for 6+ years so when I say he was amazing it's not an exaggeration! Sean was so nice and knowledgeable and just so much fun to talk to! It was nice to talk about how much he loved his job while understanding the quirks that come with it. The tacos were actually good, the sides ruined the dish. The rice was a mound of flavorless mush. After one bite I couldn't eat anymore. The pinto beans were ok, came out lukewarm, but I couldn't force myself to eat it. Our waiter Rob was nice and there were multiple servers that removed glasses or plates from our table that we were finished with. We order the chicken nachos and it was bomb but I would request to add more chicken next time but regardless as the waitress said it's "fire" and I got the sliders which were amazing and the food portions are huge. Wow where to start? I was kind of hesitant to come here because the prices seemed kind of high, but we got here and the staff informed us it was happy hour! So that helped lol. So originally they wanted to seat us (6 and a baby) at a big table and a little two seater table across from it due to 6 person limit for tables (probably due to Covid). It was $4 off due to happy hour so definitely visit during happy hour for great deals. I was stuck between ordering a chicken sandwich or the poke nachos. Thomas weighed in and said I should go with the nachos so I did, and it was the best decision I'd made all day. They looked a little crazy, but they were delicious! One of our friends had ordered one of the pricier steaks and my husband ordered a steak as well. The first time they came out, they both were rare. We didn't make a big deal we were having a blast just chatting and munching the apps we ordered so they got sent back and new ones were brought. The second time, they came STILL rare. We laughed it off and they got sent back. The third time they came out, my husband's was right, but our friend's was still rare. Sent back, got the next steak and it was well done. Not what our friend asked for. At this point he decided to order the steak my husband ordered to see if he'd get lucky. The fourth time it came out, it was well done again. But at this point he decided to just eat it. He was still okay about it he wasn't raising a fuss or anything. So the manager came over (we didn't request him) and informed us his meal was comped for the trouble. Very generous of him to do and he was very polite and professional. We laughed off the steak thing and everyone ate and drank. When it came time for the bill the manager came over again and informed us that he'd comped ALL our food and only charged us for the alcohol (we had a lot too). We were stunned by this. We raised no kind of fuss about the little mishaps we had, we weren't even remotely mad about anything, we were literally having such a great time. My food came out great, the apps were great, my friends wife's food was great, husbands food was great the third time, like there was no need for him to do that. He was incredibly generous and polite and I even protested his decision, explaining that everyone's else's food was fine and that we had no problem with paying for it. He shook his head and insisted. I still can't believe it the next day, but A plus plus for customer service. I was going to deduct a star for the steak debacle, but that customer service was above and beyond I can't even complain. Don't worry, we left our waiter a FAT tip after he explained the breakdown of how the tip is distributed (to the bar, cooks, server in varying percentages so keep this in mind when tipping!! It doesn't all go to the server!). My only suggestion would be to retrain the cooks regarding steak doneness levels. Other than that, yard house you've earned repeat customers. First time at this Yard House location and the service was fast especially during Happy Hour which is Monday thru Friday 3-6pm. My party and I got crispy traditional wings with Korean chili garlic and whiskey black pepper. The Korean chili garlic wings were spicy but I was expecting a different flavor. It was a good tasting flavor and the spice will linger in the back of your throat. The whiskey black pepper wings didn't really taste whiskey-ish like other whiskey foods I have tasted. The wings were definitely crispy and had a crunch when you bit into them. The bbq chicken pizza was a thin crust and tasted great. I do wish it had a little more barbecue sauce on it. The sliders were good but I found the patty to be a bit too small for the rolls they serve them on. Also, the sauce was kind of lacking. But if you added a little bit of ketchup it tasted better. The picante margarita was spicy and delicious. It is definitely worth the $13.49 price tag. The Belgium Amber Tripel was a great beer. I am glad I went outside of my comfort zone and tried something new. For all the food and drinks ordered we were there for maybe an hour. We had a great time and will definitely be back. read more

Came here for happy hour the other day. First impression, the reception seemed fairly dismissive when I asked for a table. It took a while to be greeted and I was told it would be about a 15 minute wait. I return 20 minutes later and was told to wait another 10 minutes before we finally got a table. After we were sat, we ordered happy hour specials, which you'd think appetizers would be easy to make, right? Our party of four ordered boneless wings, a pizza, sliders, and calamari. Our server was excellent and she stopped by our table multiple times to apologize, but that was overshadowed by the fact that it took almost 40 minutes for the appetizers to come out. By the time it got to our table, everything was barely lukewarm. Wings and sliders were passable, but I'll never forget the calamari which was chewy and firm, kind of like my grandad's shoes. The pizza was neither good or bad, just forgettable. It seems they tell everyone its a 35 minute wait, even when the restaurant is more than half empty and my party was just 2. This meant that I gave up on my first attempt. On my second attempt, it was again a party of two, but I decided to wait the 35 minutes. However, we were waiting only 5 minutes before we were paged... And we were sat ahead of very many other patrons who had been there before us-- and we were sat in an area of 3 empty tables that could have been pushed together for a larger party.
