Second time I've been there and I was just as impressed as the first. The Turkey Burger was just plain fantastic and seasoned so well it was better than most beef burgers I've had. The fries were a little cold but we ordered delivery but they were still devoured even without reheating. The portion size on the side of onion rings was gigantic and turned in to leftovers for many meals to come. The portion size for the fried chicken strip appetizer as well was as much as a meal and even came with fries (maybe that was a mistake?). Less than average service. Was put on the waiting list for 6 people... When we were called up to get our table, we had 3 people walk up to the hostess as the other 3 had gone to the restroom. Initially taken to a table for 2. Umm won't fit then she tried to take us to a table for4.still won't fit. I think what happened was one hostess tried to accommodate another group of 5 and thought we were a group of 3 and made the call to give our table away....if I ask for a table for 6 and you only see 3 clarify the situation before guessing or listen to what I told you when I walked up. I was quite annoyed that they said that they were busy and this was the best they had. What...... I wait 1.5 hrs for an uncomfortable table? Also I saw you gave our table to a group that was buzzed after us because you made a wrong decision. The drinks took an average of 10 minutes to show up after ordering. Some people ordered wine to show up with our meal, that didn't show up till half way through our meal. Waitress was putting in a lot of effort to keep things on track commendable...There were a lot of workers in the restaurants jaw jacking( people in white shirts... Management???) and not doing much. Would have thought they would notice the slow service and at least help out.... I tried the crusted chicken, Gorgonzola hamburger and rib eye steak and all were cooked well and had good flavor. The food is why I am giving a decent rating. The restaurant is loud. Very hard to hold a conversation with a person 1 seat away. Don't expect to talk much unless you want to yell all meal. The Yardhouse is not great, don't buy the hype. I've been to other yardhouse locations, and the boise restaurant failed to live up to expectations. First, the beer: it's incredibly expensive, mediocre local brew selection, average pours and service. Food: we had 4 people and our waitress even told us some plays were getting cold waiting for the rest. Portions are lacking. My nachos were small in size, cold, and only served on one plate (should be cooked on one plate and served on an additional plate). Atmosphere and service were good, but I can name a dozen places where is rather drop $50 for one person. Try the Taphouse or 10 Barrel downtown for better food, prices, and overall experience. read more

Food is decent. Service is hit or miss. They are NOT young child friendly. I have 15 month old twins and went with a friend with a 16 month old along with 5 adults. They placed us in a booth that would only allow 1 highchair. They offered booster seats with belts so we thought we would be okay. The boosters were so light that if either of my kids leaned they fell over. The food choices aren't little kid friendly either. They seen geared toward kids that can use utensils. We have tried them multiple times and we have the same experience when our kids are with us. The staff really needs to think about families and their children's comfort and safety. read more

I was really excited that we were getting a Yardhouse in Idaho as I have eaten at the Yardhouse in Irvine several times when we travel to S. Cal. We ate there last night (they have been open about 3 weeks) so I figured that they hopefully have most of the kinks worked out. We got there at 5:05 p.m. and there was already a waiting list. It was a Saturday night so that could be expected. We were told a party of 4 would about a 50-60 minute wait. We said we'd wait and we were seated about 45 minutes later. We were seated at a table in the dining area. It's kind of loud in there, so don't expect a lot of conversation unless you want to lean across your table to talk to people. I ordered the Roast Beef Dip, much pleased to hear there is no MSG in their au jus sauce. It also came with horseradish cream and fries, but I substituted for Sweet Potato Fries for a dollar more. It was served on a nice brioche type bun, even though I just realized the menu says it comes on garlic french toast, so it must have been a French roll with garlic. It was tasty. It had melted cheese, I think Swiss? and that added a nice touch. The meat was tender and flavorful. The au jus was a slight different taste than I'm used to though. I wasn't sure I quite liked it at first, but it grew on me. It probably tastes different because they don't make it with MSG. Good for them! The horseradish cream was delish, nice light flavor. My hubby ordered the Baja Fish tacos. He LOVED them. The only thing he said was that there needed to be three tacos instead of two. Two is probably a perfect portion for the ladies, but the guys like a little more food! It came with some kind of a bean side and spicy rice. He said they were great. Our friends ordered the Chicken Tinga tacos and the Ahi Crunchy Salad. They both said there food was also excellent. We all completely cleaned our plates. Not a speck left. The reason I said I was hoping they had the kinks worked out was because we ate there about a week before they opened at one of their "practice" dining sessions. We know one of the servers so she gave us passes. Our food was ok, but I figured they needed some grace because the chefs are learning how to cook all these dishes, and there is a BIG menu. Lots of options. And, you have to give these people some time to learn. I also had someone else tell me her sister ate there the first week they were open and the Fish Tacos were terrible; she thought they used fish sticks. Not so last night. My husband said they were the best Fish Tacos he's eaten. No fish stick tacos here. I expected good food because of my dining experiences at their Cali locations. I was not disappointed last night. Will definitely eat there again. Service was good, waitress prompt and refilled our water and drinks when needed. No order mess-ups. Like I said, it's a noisy place but fun. They have 100+ beers on tap but I haven't tried any. Not a big beer fan myself. read more

Girls lunch and movie date! We chose The Yard House because of it's proximity to the theater and we've all wanted to try the food here. We ordered the lobster dip appetizer and all agreed that it tasted rather fishy, like tuna. Four hungry girls but we only finished half of it. Two of us ordered the lamb burgers and two of us ordered the roast beef dip sandwich. Both lamb burgers had soggy bottom buns. They were so soaked that they were inedible but the burger itself was delish! The roast beef sandwiche however, were a hit! Two of us also ordered a beer. One ordered a second beer but the server brought the wrong kind. She offered it to anyone else at the table who may want it so we accepted. Another 5 min and the correct beer came along. When we received the check the incorrect beer was included but they righted their mistake once we pointed it out. They didn't seem to be overly busy yet the service was slow and inconsistent. We had to ask for things like water or a side of fry sauce multiple times. The food was ok but I expected better for the location and price. read more

Great food! The first time we dined here it was excellent. The service was excellent and the food was too. We were excited to return. Unfortunately the second time we were a bit disappointed. It was largely to do with our server. I asked for coffee and she told me they were out. No big deal. I walked next door, bought a cup from a neighboring business and brought it back. Then when asked what kind of fish they use in the fish tacos it was described as a "hodgepodge of a bunch of different white fish all thrown together". That didn't sound appealing. I found myself envious of all the other customers who appeared to have attentive servers. To our luck a different person brought out our food who was very nice. The evening continued to get better as the food was absolutely delicious. We will most likely return and strategically find out who our server will be before we sit down to order. read more

$6.75 for a beer and $9.25 for a small vodka cran? Do they realize this is Meridian, Idaho? The food was good - nothing to rave about. We sat at the bar instead of waiting 25mins for a table and our waitress/bartender was extremely attentive at first, but after we received our drinks she never spoke to us again. Our soup and salad came out after our food - strange? After sitting with empty drinks and napkins over our plates for 10-15mins another bartender wrapped up his lengthy conversation with the people next to us and asked us if he could clear our plates. At that time we asked for our check. It was extremely loud inside as well. We probably won't be back UPDATE: Lidia from the Yardhouse contacted me on here which was surprising (see below), and we exchanged several emails about our experience there. I must say, I was quite impressed they read these reviews and care enough to contact the reviewers for feedback. She sent us a VERY generous gift card to the Yardhouse in hopes we would give them another chance. I returned last night with a girlfriend around 6:30 and decided to wait for an opening at the bar instead of waiting an hour and 45 mins for a table. We were told we could order a few drinks and cruise around to look for an open seat. We stood at a opening at the bar that didn't have seats, for a good 10mins staring at the bartenders and making eye contact before we finally asked if we could have a menu and order a drink. We finally found a spot and again waited and waited while bartenders kept passing us. We eventually asked for a menu and ordered. We did end up with a nice bartender and unfortunately his name is escaping me. He was middle-aged, tall, with brown shaggy hair. He always greeted me by my name (which was on our ticket) and kept our drinks refilled and was attentive. Ah! What a relief! I ordered the Penne with Chicken and it was good, however the noodles were a bit on the al dente side. Not my cup of tea, but I did really enjoy the flavor and the man next to me asked what I ordered. We did encounter a slightly intoxicated man next to us and after he left we had several members of the staff come and apologize to us. Overall, I had a much better experience this time. I still think there are some improvements to be made and the music should not be as loud. As other reviews stated, it's way too loud to have a conversation in there. I will be back solely because of the excellent customer service Lidia has shown me. I will also continue to tell others how I was impressed with her. Side note: purse hooks under the bar! My wife and I have been to the Yard House multiple times, we go back because they have such a spectacular selection of drinks. Our favorite is the Wild Turkey Double Bourbon stout, (or something like that), An amazing dark beer. Most of the food is pretty good, the BBQ chicken salad is one of the best salads I have ever tasted and they have some other good options as well. Go during happy hour for discounts on appetizers and drinks. The patio is excellent this time of year, it overlooks the rest of the village with the fountain and is very comfortable. I read reviews and was hesitant to go there as there were people saying that the service was slow and the menu was overpriced. My thoughts after taking my grandson and his girlfriend there is that the food is good. There are some items on the menu that are a bit over priced in my view but there are items that are not, so there is some choices on price. They have a large selection on their menu. We went on a Sun early evening fairly busy but there was no wait to be seated, the food order was reasonable as far as arriving at our table. We took a risk and came to the Yard House with 4 adults, 4 kids under the age of 3, and an infant. I was worried that a nice place like this would not appreciate children, but we received fantastic service. Our waiter was friendly, and made sure the kids were always well taken care of. Food came out in a fair amount of time and was delicious! We loved the ambiance and the music helped our neighboring tables less able to hear the chatter of our large group. My main complaint is that the noise is too loud to have a conversation. There were 3 of us we found it difficult to hear each other. The food was good but arrived at the table a bit on the cold side. Even the coffee was not very hot. Service was a bit slow. So, next time we will pass on the Yard House. Just not a pleasant place to converse. Also, if you request any changes or substitutions to your menu selection there are up-charges. So the bill can be larger than you anticipated. Already a bit pricey anyway. read more

Visiting Yard House is always so nostalgic for me and my husband. We come from California and lived down the street from Yard House. However, having said that, the Yard House in the Village is by far one of the best. For some reason, the food tastes better here. The customer service is also great. We tried this place for the first time on Saturday night. We were coming from Mountain Home so we called ahead to make a reservation for our group of 7. We were told at that time they do not take reservations but to call back when we were 20 minutes out to hold a table. What? This seems like a ridiculous practice. Anyway, we called back when we were 20 minutes away and was informed they will not take a check in for a group that size. Okay, now we were just confused? We arrive 20 minutes later and head in only to be told there is an hour long wait. This information would have been appreciated during the two earlier phone calls. We decide to wait since we were there already. Skip ahead an hour later and we get our table. They have a HUGE menu and tons of beer and drink options. Our server was excellent even though the place was slammed. Everything we ordered looked and tasted good. I was the only one not choosing a burger or sandwich of some sort. I opted for the crab cakes. They were I bit overcooked honestly, but still tasted pretty good. Really, the only negative thing I have to say about this place is you need to be prepared to lay down some cash to eat here. Now I don't have a problem paying a higher price for a nice meal but this place doesn't quite hit the mark for the prices they are charging. Wow! I was really disappointed in yard house this visit. We usually have a good experience with food here. Portions are large enough for two meals and the quality and taste are good usually fine as well. We brought our family that was visiting from out of state to the village and they wanted to try Yard House so we headed in for lunch. Our waitress was excellent ... Thus the reason for the two stars. We had a large group and she was very upbeat and attentive.The food... well... it was really bad! Poor quality meat that was filled with chunks of fat on my Bahn mi sandwich. The sandwich wasn't even close to the ones that I have received from here in the past. It was just really gross, to be honest. The kids pizzas were good, the macaroni and cheese, both the kids and the adult version was very bland. Apparently the deviled eggs were good, I didn't try those, but others in my party said they were tasty. My nephew ordered the seared ahi sandwich and after a few bites was so disgusted by it he couldn't finish it. All in all, not our best trip. With all of the options in the village... this may be my last visit to the Yard House. Unless its just for happy hour! Can't really mess up a beer! read more

We stopped by the Yard House shortly before 6:00pm on a Friday night. It was very crowded and there was a wait, but we were seated within the promised 30 minute window. The hostess and server were both friendly and polite, and the service was fairly attentive considering how full the restaurant was. The atmosphere was trendy and upscale, but far too loud for my liking. Don't go at prime time with plans to catch up on conversation with anyone, because you won't be able to hear. I can't comment on the beer as we didn't order any, but we were rather disappointed by the food. My husband ordered the clam chowder and said it tasted like it came from a can. My French Onion soup was fairly tasty, but was only lukewarm underneath the crouton. We both ordered the Hawaiian burger. The middles were done nicely, but the outside edges were charred and tough. They were topped by little bits of pineapple that wanted to fall off. A whole ring would have been much nicer. We had to specifically request lettuce, onion and tomato. Evidently it's not automatically included with most burger choices. Overall, the burgers were rather dry and tasteless. The French fries looked appealing, but didn't actually taste good. However, the butterscotch pudding was fabulous! If this review were only about the pudding, it would easily be 5 stars. Great butterscotch taste with little flecks of sea salt... I could almost be talked into a return trip just for the pudding. But probably not. read more

Me and my boyfriend have gone there 2 times now. The first time was not bad which is why I am giving it two stars. But, the most recent time was very disappointing. I want to start by saying we are both servers so we understand how the restaurant business works. Me and my boyfriend are broke college students so when we have a chance to splurge we want to enjoy it. It was a Monday or Tuesday night, so we went to yard house on a date night. We were seated on the patio as requested by me because it was such a nice night. The first thing I was not happy with was it took us almost 7 minutes to be greeted by our server. My boyfriend asked about one of the alcoholic beverages and the server did not answer his question or any there after. So he decided against an alcoholic beverage. We order soda to start and it took her another 5 minutes to get those for us. We took a look at the menu and decided on what we wanted and we didn't see our server for another 20-30 minutes. When we had finally ordered and got our meals they were very salty and neither of us finished them. Yet again we didn't see our server until the very end of our meal. All the other servers on the patio were checking in on us and refilling our drinks. By the end of the meal we were both irritated and just ready to leave. All in all a very disappointing date night. read more

Ordered a French dip sandwich and a Caesar salad for delivery. The sandwich was excellent and came with a side of fries which were just passable. The salad was large and fresh but because it was large there wasn't enough dressing. Delivery was within the advertised range and was on time with the time reported by Yelp. My only significant complaint is that I was ordering for one but had a minimum order requirement of $15 with about a $6 delivery fee so I had to order more food than I wanted just to get it delivered. I am not exclusively faulting Yard House for this since most places I checked had similar requirements. read more

My boyfriend and I have been interested in trying Yardhouse but have waited until now because of the previous poor reviews. However, today we decided to try it out and I am beyond impressed. The service was great, even though the restaurant was packed. And the food was even better. I chose the tuna burger with the citrus soy salad and my boyfriend had the pepper jack burger. They were both delicious. The price was a bit spendy for what we got but it was so good that I didn't even mind. Also, the beer selection was AWESOME. There are so many beers on tap that I was almost overwhelmed with all of the choices. Overall, Yardhouse was fantastic and I definitely will be back. read more
