I guess it's one of the newer eating spots at the Galleria at Tyler. I haven't been in this area in YEARS!!! Since I used to go to UCR - and not about to age myself! But from what I remember - the Galleria at Tyler, used to just be a mall - now it's upgraded with a bunch of restaurants all around, plus a crunch and upgraded stores. Anyways - I was meeting a friend for dinner. We were supposed to go to Panda Inn in Ontario, but decided to meet up in Riverside instead. SO I had this gnarly craving for rice and something sweet and sour like - so I ordered the orange peel chicken. Taste wise, it's not bad, but at $17 for the entree .. it's a little steep. Anyways, after a few bites, I found a hair in my food. I swear it wasn't mine. Even though it was a brunette and long - this hair was embedded into my food and as I pulled it out of my food. I just lost any appetite - and just glad my server saw that happen. So they took away my entree, asked me if I wanted a replacement - I just said I'll take the same thing. By this time I'm just sour and meh!!! By the time I got a new entree my friend was done with her meal. They took my utensils away and never brought new ones. So after my meal was delievered, I waited another 5 minutes before a server was back to ask. YEA, by this time I was just po'ed and rawr! Terrible is a nice word for our service. Water was never filled. The only thing that made me semi ok was getting my meal comp'ed. But I'll never come back to this location. We went here in the afternoon and were able to get a table quickly. This is one of the few places that's open for dine in because of the back patio they have. Unfortunately this leads to being a little uncomfortably warm and bugs being outside. Anyway the menu is super limited but they still had some of the gardein selections available which is what I went for. I got the gardein orange chicken and it was super crispy and delicious. It's a decent sized portion and I had some leftover and wanted to take it but a gnat landed on it and got lost in there. Oh well. I forgot how expensive this place was too. I really enjoy Yard House! The Norwegian Salmon with wasabi mashed potatoes & ahi steak sandwich are my favorite things on the menu. I love how they offer the gardien menu, but I don't like the taste of the chicken. The first few bites are good, but as you keep eating, it tastes really weird. Morning star "chicken" is better. It would be cool if they had a veggie burger on their menu. They have a very diverse menu-something for everyone. Service has not disappointed me and the ambience is really fun. I've been to many Yard House locations, but this one just happens to be right around the corner from my house. They always seem to have friendly service. The manager is always on the floor checking to make sure that everyone of the diners is having a good experience. Additionally, I've only had great things come out of the kitchen. I love the fact that they have a whole mule section in there cocktail menu. this time around I tried the Hawaiian mule. Served in the classic copper mug, the Hawaii Neil has a nice pineapple twist to the traditional recipe. Another bonus is that they make their ginger beer in the house and, to tell the truth, it's wonderfully refreshing and has a nice snap of spice. This time around I'm on my usual spring diet, so I only got a salad. The good thing is that the salad was good enough that I didn't feel like I was missing anything. I ended up at the barbecue chicken salad and it had lots of flavor. My only wish is that they would use a green or type lettuce and a little less iceberg. For starters, I LOVE Yardhouse. I've been to 7 different locations and rarely have a complaint. They have excellent Happy Hour pricing; huge selection of beers, and the service is usually wonderful. But. Not tonight. I realize it was a Wednesday night, but still. A few friends and I arrived just about 10; right when their late night HH begins. We were shown to a booth by a ditzy hostess who was talking to us about her drunken excursions. Umm, hi, I don't care!! We waited for over 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. (we are all servers, so this is a serious downgrade in our books) Our server came over and haphazardly threw coasters down and asked if we had been waiting and for exactly how long. She seemed extremely irritated that we were still looking over the drink menu to figure out our selections. We decided to start with a round of martinis and I chose the Mai Tini (I love Mai Tai's, and was hoping for a similar taste) and one of my friends ordered the Hawaiian Sunset and beer for the rest of the girls. Both martini's tasted like spiked Kool-Aid. Eh. Not impressed. I've had much better ones at this location. Maybe it was the bartenders? Not sure. We also ordered the chicken nachos and they were amazing! I think that was the highlight of my evening with Yardhouse. After about 30 minutes, our server explained she was being sent home, not wanting to be rude, we closed out with her and she assured us she would send someone else over to look after us. Well, over 30 minutes go by and finally a server stops by and asks if we'd like to order anything. YES, we would! She was very apologetic, but still. It's bad service. We left after a few more rounds, and we were all put off by our experience tonight. Overall, I've had much better service other times. After having a mediocre experience at their Chino location we decided to come here since I really enjoy their food. We came right when they opened at 11 am to avoid the long wait which still turned into a big fail. Only two other tables were seated thus far and we still waited just over an hour for our food. I ordered the ahi sandwich and asked for it well done, one would think an hour later the fish would be cooked, no luck, still totally pink inside, tried a bite and just couldn't get myself to eat it. Back it went and by the time I got my corrected order the guys were done eating. Second time around it was perfect, loved every bite, just did not enjoy eating alone. My son had a kids meal and loved it, generous size and the oreo rice krisy pop for dessert a nice touch. My husband had the steak sandwich which he really enjoyed and we split a piece of cheesecake for dessert. That wasn't great at all, tiny portion, no flavor, not fresh, at $8 I will gladly pass on that again. The Ahi and steak was really a 5 star meal, but waiting over an hour for food at lunch while they are empty is unacceptable and really dampened our mood, also I think the prices are pretty high, my sandwich was just uner $15, his almost $20, that is A LOT for a sandwich, but they are REALLY REALLY good! read more

Honestly, this was only my second time going to a Yard House ever, but I already know it was my last. It took almost 15 minutes for us to be greeted, our food took forever to come out, I had to remind my server about my tea, the list goes on. Listen, all of this is forgivable, it happens, but that all of them happened in the same visit was not impressive. I do appreciate that it didn't cost me extra to switch to the vegan cheese on my margherita pizza, but I don't love that I bit into something hard on said pizza. Came here for late night HH, hostess asks if we are fine with a table because no booths are available, we say sure. Walk across the room, at least 7 booths are available. Lol really. Anyways, my housemates and I came to release stress and get our minds off things as our house was burglarized couple days prior. Sadly, their wallets were taken including IDs. Explained the situation to the manager, showed him the temporary issued ids, credit cards with pictures, and pictures of our old IDs. He says, "i can't let you guys have it, you guys look too young." What to do on a lazy Sunday? Went for happy hour at 10pm at Yard House where I went out with a friend. Near the Tyler Mall, the place is nice, big, and spacious. Friendly staff, good choices for happy hour appetizers. My friend and I decided to share some of the appetizers. We had the onion tower, seared ahi, turkey sliders, and the garlic noodle which was deelish. The orders came promptly, my friend had the beer (can't remember which but they have a lot of choices and sizes). All in all good choice to hang out and eat. read more

We waited about 30 mins for 3 appetizers (spicy tuna, spinach dip, and mushroom lettuce wrap) and our waiter also noticed that we were waiting for quite a while so he went to check on our order. He noticed that the paper with our order fell to the kitchen floor, so he immediately notified the manager to let us know. Although we never complained about the long wait, the manager was apologetic. When we got the bill, we noticed that 2 out of 3 appetizers we ordered were deducted from our bill. I can honestly say that I really did not enjoy my experience here last night, which is difficult considering they're one of our families favorite restaurants. My daughter and I came in around 7:30pm on a Wednesday evening, which is perfect because no game's were on and thinking we'd get better service. We took our time to really look over the menu. She ordered one of their beer's on tap & me a glass of ice cold water with a lemon... yum As a appatizer - the spicy edamama, Which she really enjoyed all by herself. I chose a cup of clam chowder. Emeditly after the first bite I did NOT like it. It had a bad aftertaste. I emeditly slid it away from me. She ordered their Tuna Poki salad , which she loved. We both also ordered their Creme Brulee. Milk chocolate chunks on the bottom, and banana slices and the creamy custard with a perfect sugary crust on top. I highly recommend it. I think what would of made my experience better is if our waitress would of taken the time to notice that the clam chowder had not been eaten /touched and placed at the end of the table and she never questioned me if there was a problem with it because i didn't eat it ... I just wanted a low key / quite night. Another fabulous experience at this location. We decided to try the bar instead of the tables this time and the bartender was great. His name was Gabe and he was really nice and very informative with the drink selection. What also allows me to give the 5 stars is the conversation I overheard him having with the elder sitting next to me. The customer sitting next to me came by himself and he seemed like he was looking for someone to converse with. Gabe spent some time with the customer, talking about simple things. But you can tell the customer was really happy. It was sweet. Service was great, quick and friendly. This location has really stepped up their game from what I remembered it to be 3/4 years ago. Been coming here for years but last night was my first time since late 2019. Huge difference in food quality, feels like we ate at an over priced Denny's. The service was great but my family and I were pretty disappointed in our dinner. On our way to have dinner elsewhere we had to make a quick stop at the mall. As we were leaving the Tyler Galleria we noticed the YArd House and decided to give it a try. Tony, our server was great. Excellent recommendations and service. Dinner was so good. We were stuffed after the huge chicken nachos appetizer, but kept going. My uncle had the rib eye and shrimp. They steak was perfectly cooked and so tended. I was in the mood for pasta and had the shrimp and lobster agnolotti. Delicious pasta and the sauce was do good. Everything was fantastic. This is a rarity as far as my reviews go because I try to stray from what I call "chain reviews", but I did have a decent experience here and I felt it worth sharing. The first thing I noticed is that their menu has been completely revamped and much different then what I remember back in my roaring 20's. It seemed like they put forth focus on meals vs. the normal finger foods which was a step in the right direction in my view. For this sitting I decided upon the country fried steak. It was paired with some sweet potato pancakes and for me that short stack fell well.....short for me (yeah the jokes don't get any better). The pancake itself was really thin, but tasted really dry. On the side was a jalapeño infused syrup which was quite spicy, but did help put some moisture back into the texture of the pancake. The country fried chicken did save the meal for me. I found the breaking to be the saving grace as it coated the chicken without crumbling and the batter itself was actually flavorful (had a light mix of spice from what I could tell). The chicken was surprisingly moist, but I did find a piece that had gristle which I didn't care for, but I can't knock it with just one bite though. All in all it was a good experience for me, but far from a wow factor. I mean sure I would be back again, but not by choice though. read more

We ordered the 1/2 rack of ribs ($18) and the lunch special ($10) which included a bbq chicken pizza and clam chowder. The food took about 20 minutes to get to us and both the ribs and lunch special were gross. The ribs were nothing special. The pizza was doughy and it was just like eating dough and bbq sauce. Good Service, good pizza and of course a large selection of Draft Beers (claiming to be the largest actually) Tyler mall, has a number of franchises to compete when it comes to restaurant dining experience. But Yard House is mainly for known for it's beers and sport streaming (like ESPN). The place is spacious, and that includes the tables. Our next choice was going to be Cheesecake Factory, but the group that I was with wanted Mojito. They mainly have pizzas, but are generally thin crust. I had the chicken BBQ in particular, which i thought was good. I had the lunch special which was 9.95 for a personal size pizza with a side. I upgraded to the kale salad ($1 more), which is far better than the Ceasar Salad, which looks like a cheap salad from Mcdonalds. I got a beer, but the girls I was with got cocktails that tasted like cough syrup (sorry, I forgot the name of the drink, but it was $11 a piece).
