Came here with some friends during their happy hour (m-f/3-6pm). I ordered two appetizers thinking that the portion would be small, boy was I wrong. There were four of us together and we each ordered two apps (so there were eight appetizers on our table; I ordered chicken tenders and boneless wings). We all tried a bit of each others' plate and was pleasantly surprised with how good everything tasted. So when it comes to there beer selection...I give 5 stars off bat, I keep coming here for that alone, they have such a cool wide variety of drafts. The bar staff has been phenomenal every time, so that's always where I sit. The food has honestly been hit or miss for me. But let me say, if you like ahi tuna, their poke nachos are BOMB! I've had a few things here so far like the sesame chicken, and bbq chicken salad, the blacked shrimp taco, and none of them really impressed me, it was just eh..okay. What seems to be a hit, and I will probably try next time is their sandwiches, like a classic burger or the Nashville chicken. I guess I should have just seen the reviews. This place is a step below garbage. First, the service was just awful. He messed up my Nashville sandwich; then messed up the dessert order. He didn't listen, didn't write anything, if you can't remember then write it down. Agree with other reviews that the price was a exorbitant for the quality and quantity you get. So many good restaurants on Big Beaver, I don't see why anyone would come here. Ordered dirty martinis.....came without olives. I don't even know what to say. Bar tender to waiter fail. Went on a Wednesday night and it was busy had about a 20-25 min wait at 730. The hummus with pickled veggies was AMAZING. The Nashville hot chicken sandwich was good too. Not too spicy. The truffle fries were amazing too. Their tacos were lacking and left a lot to be desired. Tried the tropical chicken taco and most of it was black charcoal pieces almost. Like the end of the day chicken. But the pineapple mango topping was good. Their drinks also left a lot to be desired. For $30 (3 drinks) didn't even get a buzz. All I got was heartburn from it. But at least it tasted good at the moment. Our server was nice too. Will return to give it another shot most likely during their happy hour so the price is more fitting for the food. read more

Great happy hour! You get tons of food for the price - apps and pizzas half off and discounted beers, wine, and cocktails. We got the sliders which were delicious and the calamari which was also good. We upgraded and got the truffle fries with the sliders and they were flavorful with lots of garlic and truffle. I got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich and it was super yummy, not too spicy but flavorful and juicy. I think they can improve in the interesting factor on their beer list. Otherwise decent selection. The food was great. The kids menu is actually pretty impressive with the clean and healthy options it offers. I personally really like the kiosk at the table that you can do your ordering and paying through. It even spits out a paper receipt. Though it wasn't extremely busy I still felt the service was good enough that if they were busy I'd still be well taken care of. I wish we found this place sooner. I've been to a Yard House in Florida before and really enjoyed that experience. I must say there is something off about this location in particular. Every other time I go, the beer is very flat, which is a pretty important factor in enjoying a beer. Not a fan of flavored syrup water. As far as food prep, they really aren't hiding the fact that they reheat all their food. I loved the cheese curds and Gardein products at my first Yard House visit, but at this one, feels like everything is undercooked and thrown together. I ordered their queso dip recently which screamed reheated in an oven. Also, maybe not location-specific, but it was served with like 5 chips, and then 5 taco tortillas. The hell am I supposed to do with those, make plain queso tacos?? Weird shit. Was in for happy hour. Gave the bartender a cash in hand $10 tip over 20%. One of the bartenders decided to ingratiate themselves and added a $9 tip to my credit card after the crossed thru the gratuity line. The manager didn't think stealing from customers was a big deal apparently. I asked for the $9 theft to be refunded and I'm still waiting. Pretty sad cast of characters. I'm pretty excited to see a Yard House in the Detroit area! I've been to one in Seattle a few times, however it was catered, so I hadn't tried their menu. I came here for my birthday. I ordered the vegan mac & cheese. HOLY SMOKES....it was sooooo good. The truffle flavor and mushrooms really put this over the top. I've never been a huge fan of mac & cheese. I mean, it's noodles and cheese. It's hard to impress. Color me impressed with this dish! I'm so excited that they have a really nice variety of vegan dishes. I can't wait to try the rest. We also ordered the brussel sprouts and potato appetizer. Also, very good! My mom ordered the duck burger and said it was the best she's ever had. Service was great! Initial smell of wet towel (guys, change your buckets regularly!) but the staff seemed alright. Been there twice now, first time was eh, second time was better. First time was the tacos, which I wasn't impressed. The main reason I eat here is Bc I love their gardien bbq chicken salad but it wasn't as great as I've had at other locations. Calamari and fish tacos were amazing. Gotta say, I was really underwhelmed by this place. We ate there last night with some work clients and everyone of us had an issue with the food or something else. First of all, it is ridiculously noisy in there. We were all horse at the end of the night from having to talk so loudly for any of us to hear each other. Whoever designed the building failed to consider the acoustics and how amplified the sounds would be or how far they'd travel. I had the Vampire Taco Platter which had three really small tacos, a spoonful and a half of beans, and about a cup of super dry rice. As for the price, it roughly $24.00 which is obnoxiously too high! Anywhere else you go you could get the same portion of items for like $14.00 max. The tomato bisque was just slightly over room temperature and tasted like cheap pasta sauce and the jambalaya aside from the heat off the spice was very bland. The only saving grace food wise was their desserts which were all very good. If you are going to have prices as high as you do you need to make sure the quality of the food matches it. To me this place was equivalent to a Chili's or other similar chain place when it comes to the food. Unless you are just stopping in for one of their many draft beer selections, find someplace else for the food. read more

Came here for happy hour with some friends last week and I was very impressed. I had not expectations because I hadn't even heard of the place, but from the moment I walked in I was pleasantly surprised. The decor is upscale sports bar, but not too upscale. My friends had already been there a while before me so they had already ordered drinks. They have a great beer selection if that's your thing, and the menu apparently has 100+ items on it. Everything sounded pretty good but my husband had ordered me the chicken lettuce wraps. My friends ordered the nachos, onion ring tower, kale caesar and korean bbq boneless wings. Everything looked and smelled pretty good and nobody had anything to complain about. The nachos were massive and could easily be split between a few people, they even came with a very generous scoop of guacamole on top! Have been a few times since opening. Yard house is consistently good I think regardless of location. They have a huge menu - almost overwhelming, and they have a huge beer selection too. Service has always been consistent (good but nothing amazing). Their food is certainly better than a standard chain, but not up to a high end restaurant as you can imagine. They have a lot of vegetarian options which is a huge bonus if you are with any non-meat eaters (or if you just want to be a little healthier). This place is good for a group of people and events - it has a lot of TV's, is rather noisy, and just has a good vibe. Summertime will probably be even better when they open some of the windows. I wouldn't choose this for a intimate place or a business meeting as it isn't conducive for either of those. Has a cool contemporary feel overall. Will certainly be back. read more

So, this place is interesting. They get the Mac & Cheese wrong. No bacon, yet came out with it. You'd think NBD. They bring out the "fixed" dish. Mac & cheese with mushrooms, chicken & truffle oil. You'd think this would be awesome, especially at $14 for a small plate. Here's what you get: Maybe 3 pieces of chicken, mushrooms, and Mac & cheese. Then drown in truffle oil. No seasoning. This was our first visit to Yardhouse. We sat at the bar, and the service was awesome. Haley and Aaron were really nice and attentive. The atmosphere is great; very chill with good 80s and 90s music. I got the chicken tacos and my husband got shrimp tacos. The chicken was a bit dry and the mango salsa was basically just chopped mango - not an issue but it could've used some sauce. This place is pretty large! Cool concept with the beer kegs on the second floor, overlook the restaurant. Apparently at night it looks really cool lit up. Came here on a Sunday with my husband for lunch, we sat at the bar. There is a ton of seating both at the bar and tables/booths. There is an extensive beer list along with lots of food options. I was impressed to see an in tire section of vegan/vegetarian options. My only gripe is all of them include this meat substitute, which was okay... I would have loved to also see a black bean burger on the menu, as basic as that is. My husband enjoyed the Nashville Chicken as well. Overall the food was tasty and service was fast. It's tough to rival small mom and pop gastro pubs, but Yard House does well for a big chain, which usually in this price point fails miserably Personally prefer Sedona due to lower prices of drinks and much better quality food at the same price Yard House is better than Granite City but that isn't saying much If you want to spend $8 on a pint of draft beer and $15 for some nachos then definitely try out Yardhouse, otherwise better off going to Sedona or Griffin Claw in Birmingham IMO read more

I really wanted to give this restaurant 5 stars. Since they opened last week, I've heard nothing but great things about Yard House! Finally decided to give this restaurant a try with a couple of colleagues. I tried calling to make reservations in the morning but they said they currently do not take reservations. I arrived 15 min earlier and was greeted by the hostess and told it'd be a 45 minute wait for 3 people.. but open seating at the bar. I walked around the bar area and ran into a friend dining there and my cousin.. both who raved about how good the food was. After waiting for our table, our waiter greeted us and brought our drinks/took our orders. ONE hour later, we were still waiting for our food; we noticed the tables around us getting their food much earlier than we did. We all ordered the Nashville hot chicken.. granted, the food was really good (it had a nice spicy kick to it), but just extremely disappointed with all that wait time. I arrived at 6:45 and ended up leaving at 9:30. The manager came over to apologize and gave us 25% off our bill, so that was nice of them. I do plan on coming back to try the other items on the menu -- hopefully they'll work out their kinks by then!! read more
