Every time we come to Miami, we always book a reservation at this place. If you like southern food and want to be satisfied with the food and service, you must come here. We started with the deviled eggs - AMAZING - a high tower of egg mixture in the egg that can't be beat. We then moved on to the fried chicken dinner which we shared that came with mashed potatoes. In addition, we ordered the mac n cheese which did not disappoint. The bartender was great and she made sure we didn't want for anything. This place is a cross between upscale and down to earth dining. We loved the bar area. Highly recommend this place if you are in Miami! read more

Yardbird was good after a long day at the beach. I thought the prices were a bit steep for the salads and desserts and the ahi tuna tartare dish. Salads and desserts ranged around $20. He was very educated in the cuisine and was able to give suggestions in confidence. He made this experience extra enjoyable. The ambiance was fun and had great vibes! The vibe was really nice in this spot. I liked how the kitchen was kind of exposed to you could see into it, nice little touch. On to the food. Deviled eggs were pretty good 7/10, Biscuits didn't quite taste like I was expecting but not bad overall 6/10, the Chicken & Waffles was just ok to me. The Waffle is made with Vermont Sharp Cheddar Cheese and I'm sure some people really like it, I just wasn't one of them. I was skeptical of the description and I should have trusted my gut (no pun) I'll give those a 5/10. The hot honey sauce that came with the chicken was really good. The 4 stars were for the vibe. Wow, had not been to Yardbird for a long, long time despite the fact it's right down the street. So we started the New Year with lunch and it was very good. It was an early lunch on Monday, so the restaurant was not real busy. Our server, Alisha, gave us a lot of attention; explaining the menu, refilling the water, and so forth. Thank you. We decided to try a few things and share. Good idea because we were stuffed and could not finish it all. Started with the deviled eggs. Beautiful to look at and delicious. We shared the signature fried chicken. Even the white meat was moist. The photo does not do it justice - crispy and perfectly browned. The side we chose was mac and cheese; so creamy - I wondered what the secret ingredients were. No room for dessert. How thoughtful to provide warm, damp napkins to clean you fingers; fried chicken is finger good, afterall. A very good choice for a leisurely lunch. read more

If I could give it a 3.5 I would. I came here with my bf and some friends of ours. We were able to get sat right away but the service was slow. I ordered the Classic Yardbird Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The hash brown was also a hit. I will say I was a bit confused on how they price things since this meal was priced at $28 which is normal-ish for Miami Beach but then the chicken and waffles plate was $42. Which seems absurd. So I don't really get it but my meal was worth the price (for the location of course). Like I said, service was slow but what was kind of annoying was our server lol he asked if we were locals or whatever and we explained how I am but the rest of the group wasn't. He proceeded to give us "advice" on going to other cool spots in Miami Beach (expensive tourist attractions) which I found to be corny. Even our group was like oh okay (we didn't ask for recommendations but okay). It was just strange. I had a great experience at Yardbird last week! We didn't have a RSVP, but were still able to get seated rather quickly on Sunday around noon. Our waiter was super friendly and explained the menu and drinks to us. We got the Chicken and Waffles, Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken, Smoked Salmon Avo Toast, and the Fried Green Tomato BLT. We also got the blackberry bourbon lemonade, the watermelon sling and watermelon mojito. All the food was amazing! The fried chicken was so juicy and tender, perfectly fried too. The bourbon maple syrup and honey hot sauce went really well with the chicken and waffles. The avo toast had plenty of salmon on top too. I loveed the fried green tomato blt- my first time having fried green tomatoes and it was delicious. I really liked the sauce that was on this too Definitely will come back here next time I'm in Miami! read more

I honestly can't believe that I hadn't reviewed them before. We've been coming here for over 10 years and I gotta say that they always deliver. From the drinks to the food, you can't go wrong. We love the chicken biscuits with that sweet and spicy jelly they put and the pickled onions and actual pickles. So good!! The fried chicken is also on point, and biscuit and gravy is great. We didn't really like the skillet corn bread too much, as it was a bit too dry for us, although the butter helps. Had been a few years since my last time at Yardbird but all that changed today for Sunday Brunch! My father, sister & i were excited! We were seated immediately & our amazing waiter Matheus brought over our menus. He was so kind right from the start & really made an incredible meal even better with his wonderful service! (Helps that he is a fellow Leo, too!) My first cocktail was a skinny Blackberry Bourbon Lemonade, my dad had the Winter Citrus Tonic & my sister had wine. My cocktail was ok, but not as balanced as I would have liked. After looking thru the menu we finally chose our entree's (the brunch menu has SO many delicious sounding dishes). I had the Chef 's Daily Omelet which came with a lovely arugula Petite Salad & a Buttermilk Biscuit. My dad had the Biscuit & Gravy & my sis had the Chicken & Waffles. We wanted something sweet fir the table to share & at Matias' suggestion, we went with the Lemon Meringue Pie Pancakes. Everything was SO delicious! Loved my meal & the pancakes were fantastic (although I wish there were more blueberries in the pancakes!). Before we left, I had a skinny Southern Peach & it was INCREDIBLE! They also have good ice tea The chicken was crispy with homemade honey hot sauce on the side and home made bourbon maple syrup for the waffle. Yard Bird is another one of those places that I'd heard lots about but had never visited. We went with some friends while we were in town for a late dinner and I must say, I can see why the folks enjoy it so much. Yardbird is interesting to me because it sort of gives Houston's with the not quite casual, but not quite fancy vibes and price point, but the claim to fame menu item is chicken, fried chicken to be exact. There's other Southern fare like biscuits, mac and cheese, cornbread, shrimp and grits, as well as dishes like charred octopus and lemon basil pasta. Something for everyone, but it juxtaposes the rustic, farmhouse atmosphere just a little. No matter, the food is really yummy, the service is great, and the vibes are good. Out of our group of four, only one of us had ever eaten here before so we got a few apps to share. We started with deviled eggs, skillet cornbread, and fried green tomato BLT. No complaints on any of these, but those fried green tomatoes?! A crispy fried green tomato, smoky pork belly that was the perfect mix of meaty and fatty, pimento cheese--perfect. As my entree I got the sweet tea braised short rib and it was some of the most tender short rib I've ever had and the mashed potatoes and carrots rounded out the dish wonderfully. The drinks were good, but leaned a little sweeter than I prefer if I remember correctly, but that isn't a negative at all. I just try to watch my sugar intake and would prefer to get my sugars in the form of desserts. They were probably just right for most folks. My second time at this location and if you are in South Beach it is clearly a must! We started our meal today with the most delicious biscuits with a side of homemade butter and Jam. Then we went to a tiered charcuterie appetizer. Then we moved on to our main courses which we ended up sharing and were amazing. Between our apps and meal our really helpful and attentive server Juliet made sure that she refreshed the silver and plates and never let my water run low (big water drinker) Dinner up next we went with the Lewellyn's Fine Fried Chicken, St Louis Ribs and an order of the Short Ribs with garlic mashed potatos, street corn and Mac and Cheese. It's always difficult to figure out what to order, today was the eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits and we both loved our meals. The hash browns were so good I could have had an order those alone. We washed it all down with a couple old fashioneds (and a Penicillin, which was also amazing). Also one of the managers I'm assuming (joe ) came over and helped the server when he wasn't there. He was actively on the floor which is always great to see. Helps with speeding things up overall . So good. I wish the portion was larger Waffle - ehhh not so good. It might be because I found it to be a little on the salty side and I prefer my waffles to be sweet. Spicy watermelon - not spicy flavorful. Refreshing and unfamiliar taste that I didn't know I needed. Mac and cheese - not my favorite. I wish it was baked so the flavors go merge and come together more. I also wish that they used different cheeses. I found it to be on the bland side. Drink I had the passion fruit lemonade. Tried the Chicken and Waffles and Mac and Cheese and while both were okay, with the Mac and Cheese being better and more worth it of the two, the Chicken and Waffles is way overpriced at $42 dollars. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the Waffle was a bit soggy, and the Watermelon is a nice touch and is pretty much served California Mexican fruit stand style. You would think at that Price point, the entree would include a side like the Mac and Cheese we ordered, which was another $15+. If you Googled places to go in Miami for your visit and come across Yardbird because of this particular entree, give it a shot but I doubt any of you would be blown away by this item If you have been to or frequent any good Chicken and Waffle places where you are from like Roscoe's in LA or Home of Chicken and Waffles in Oakland, Lo-lo's in Texas, or frankly any other mom and pop Chicken and Waffle spot in your local neighborhoods in any state you are visiting from, where you'll get the same portion and likely better Waffles and Chicken for half the price. Your best bet is to pass on the Chicken and Waffles and try something different that's worth more bang for your buck. read more

The menus had a lot of interesting items, so deciding was difficult. The food was good and prices were reasonable in general. Nevertheless, we tried the most expensive items of the menu, the chicken with waffles ( 42) and the peach cobbler (27) so our expectations were high - they were good but unjustifiably high price-tag. The chicken was prepared well but not especially meaty. The burger was excellent - juicy and crisp with two patties of a blend of meat and pickled onions.
