I have ordered from this place quite a few times and each time the quality has been exactly the same... Delicious! The stew chicken is tender and flavorful and very abundant. The mac and cheese is tasty and the rice and peas are actually pretty good. Somewhat lightly seasoned compared to what I'm used to my parents really well with the food. The potato salad is very well done to the point that my mother actually liked it and she's a hard critic. The festival were warm and soft and very satisfying and the carrot cake was definitely worth a second try. I ordered a small oxtail and what they served me seem like it was a large. Great portions, I was able to eat out of it multiple times and enjoyed each time. I ordered through Uber so I haven't been able to go to the restaurant. I see way too many complaints on here and it makes me wonder what type of palate people have as they are putting down the restaurant. I did not feel like driving so I ended up doing take out from this place by way of recommendation. I decided to order in because I was really feeling for some good Caribbean food... I ended up ordering the stew chicken with rice and peas and cabbage with extra gravy...I was in my big back mode! lol Everything I wanted it to be! The chicken was tasty, very well seasoned along with the rice, I could taste the coconut milk...Meat fell right off of the bone and I enjoyed every bite! So this place was truly such a disappointment. I ordered food last night for delivery while being at work. I ordered the oxtail with rice and peas dish and I'm so glad I ordered a small because when I opened the container of the food, the oxtail was fat with small pieces of meat. They went ahead and got rid of all of their nasty fatty pieces Since it was gonna be delivered. It shows such little integrity of this restaurant they were gonna close and so they got rid of their nasty fatty oxtail and cared more about the money mind you this dish is $26 for a small on its own. Some of the other review pictures had ordered small jerk chicken meals and had more chicken than the large meal I got. Half of the chicken was just bones - they literally gave me pieces of chicken that were bits of meat stuck on bones like someone had already ate into. I got a drumstick that had meat cut off of it - like why?? The cabbage side was the most ridiculous, 3/4 of the meal was cabbage and carrots. My husband and I frequent Yardies for one thing, their festival. Yes their festival only! I'm pretty sure they are the only Jamaican spot in the area pumping out fresh festival at 11pm at night. My husband even got sick after eating their jerk chicken on one of our late night/early morning visits; Ever since then I swore I wouldn't order food from them anymore. We ended up here last night bc we both were craving fried dough. We ordered 6 festival to go as they are only 3 for $2. As the cashier bagged them up for us I noticed they had more options on their menu; Oxtail and butter beans and even jerk salmon which sounded delicious. I proceeded to ask her how long the jerk salmon would take to make and she informed me it was already ready. I should have taken that as a bad sign bc seafood dishes at West Indian restaurants are almost always made to order. I ignored the thought though and was happy to hear the salmon came with steamed green beans and carrots, which were plentiful. Hubby noticed they had a rice and peas, steamed veg and plantain plate for $3 so he ended up ordering that for himself. Once we got home we dug in. The festival was soft and still warm which was perfection but that's all l can really give praises for. The plate with rice and beans, veg and plantain was alright. They put gravy on the rice which made it more flavorful but the steamed cabbage was definitely raw and bland and the plantain were tiny as hell and rock hard. My jerk salmon was cold and dry, like it had been sitting there all day but the steamed green beans and carrots that came with my plate were good. I knew I should have just stuck to what I know they do well here and that is festival.
