Jerk chicken and Mac n cheese. Drool!!!!!

Holy smokes. Was walking down Parsons Blvd for some lunch and saw the grill parked - then the smell hit me! For just $15 I walked away with practically three meals worth of jerk chicken smothered in sauce and Mac and cheese. Definitely at least two thighs, part of a breast and three drum sticks. Fall off the bone tender and moist. Some of the most delicious chicken skin I've ever eaten. Very nicely spiced, not too hot at all. Speaking of heat, the temp of my carry away container was piping hot. Extremely delicious and I feel so lucky to have accidentally walked by it. The gentleman who assisted me was really sweet, too. He was fielding a lot of questions from passerby's while he served me. Impressive multitasking!

Small brown stew chicken rice and peas veggies and plantains. My husband said it's about a 5/10.

I'm going to be very honest and transparent in this review as I am in all my reviews. I am of Jamaican descent and anytime I hear a rave going on about jerk chicken I always try to get to the spot lol. I visited this restaurant today located in the queens area. I live closer to the food truck they have on Pennsylvania Ave but the lines are always so long, so I said let me try this location. As I walked in there was only 1 person who was waiting so my order was taken right away. The man who took my order was ok, somewhat friendly but without a smile lol. I ordered a small jerk chicken rice and peas with veggies and fried plantain, and a small stew chicken rice and peas veggies and fried plantain. The sizes are very generous, you get nuff (a lot) rice . The food was also very fresh BUT did lack so many flavors. I'm honestly not sure if I would visit again but I'm definitely happy I got a chance to try them out.

Delicious jerk chicken, fried chicken, festival, macaroni pie, jerk chicken soup, and curry chicken. Great flavors, nice staff. Faithful customer.

This has to be some of the absolute worst jerk chicken with rice & peas I have ever taste. The chicken was super dry and the rice and peas were hard as if it was cooked, frozen and reheated. I waited a long time for my food and overcharged. They have a juice bar but when I went to order the lady said they close at 6pm. Never again. NO

The pepper balls they don't know how to grind

When you walk in for the lunch or dinner rush, the sheer volume of options hits you immediately. The protein lineup alone is a masterclass in variety, covering every angle from deeply smoky jerk chicken, BBQ, and rich brown stew to curry goat, tender pork, and pristine fish like porgie and red snapper. It's supported by an endless array of staples--perfectly executed rice and peas, clean white rice, green bananas, and sweet, caramelized plantains. There is quite literally too much to list, but the execution remains remarkably high across the board. The staff keeps the line moving with a pleasant, welcoming energy, and while the legendary Jamaican breakfast menu remains uncharted territory for me, the dinner rotation alone makes this place an automatic favorite. Food (4/5): A massive victory for variety and flavor. To pull off this many traditional Caribbean proteins--from oxtail and curry to perfectly fried fish--and keep them all consistently tender and deeply seasoned at a buffet scale is a serious achievement. Decor (3.25/5): Unpretentious, functional, and clean. It's a space built for high-volume neighborhood traffic where the visual focus is kept exactly where it belongs: on the food. Customer Service: The staff is consistently warm, patient, and efficient, maintaining a welcoming neighborhood vibe even when the counter gets absolutely slammed. Price: Around $15 per person. For a heavy, high-quality, fill-your-plate to the brim ..... Caribbean feast in this day and age, the value here is completely unmatched.

This little food truck in the Walmart/Green Acres area of Valley Stream, New York, is an absolute GEM. OMG... as soon as I took a bite of those doubles, I was transported right back to the Princes Town market on a Sunday morning, 34 years ago. That first bite brought back memories in a way I honestly wasn't expecting. The doubles are OUT OF THIS WORLD -- and with a nice, cold Peardrax? Come on! I also took home the boneless curried chicken wrapped in a TRUE thin Trini-style dhalpuri. Wow. Just WOW. The dhalpuri, the curry, the seasoning... everything tasted like home. This might honestly be my favorite food spot of 2026! They're open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and there is usually a line. But trust me -- the wait is SO worth it. The food is fresh, flavorful, and tastes like somebody's Trini aunty is back there cooking for you. If you love authentic Trinidadian food, DO NOT sleep on this place. Doubles + Peardrax + boneless curry chicken dhalpuri = HEAVEN.

Every Friday, my four of us pick a different takeout spot, and without fail, someone always says, "Can we just get The Door?" We've had the curry goat, Rasta pasta, jerk chicken, fried chicken, oxtail, Esco chicken, soups, and the chicken patttttttties... mi God. Mi never taste a food wicked suh yet! Everything is consistently flavorful, fresh, and cooked with love. It's honestly become one of our go to spots because we know exactly what we're getting every single time. In my previous review, I mentioned a less than stellar experience. Looking back, maybe they were just having an off day or maybe I got the pot bottom. Whatever the reason, they've been nothing short of amazing ever since. Whether they changed chefs or tightened things up, whatever you're doing... DON'T CHANGE NADA! And I have to give an honorary shout out to Desrene, one of the wonderful team members who takes the takeout orders. She is ALWAYS pleasant, professional, and genuinely kind. It honestly brightens my day whenever I hear her voice on the other end of the phone. Consistency is everything in the restaurant business, and The Door has absolutely earned this updated 5-star review. Keep doing what you're doing!
