Holy smokes. Was walking down Parsons Blvd for some lunch and saw the grill parked - then the smell hit me! For just $15 I walked away with practically three meals worth of jerk chicken smothered in sauce and Mac and cheese. Definitely at least two thighs, part of a breast and three drum sticks. Fall off the bone tender and moist. Some of the most delicious chicken skin I've ever eaten. Very nicely spiced, not too hot at all. Speaking of heat, the temp of my carry away container was piping hot. Extremely delicious and I feel so lucky to have accidentally walked by it. The gentleman who assisted me was really sweet, too. Jerk sauce is a bit spicy while the q sauce is sweet. Meat falls off the bone. We typically get a half or full chicken. They'll chop it up with a cleaver. Finger licking good! We love stopping by their tent and smoker setup on the way back from Gateway shopping, the beach, or the restaurant coming or going to 5 towns Costco. For the street side locations, the lines are frequently long, cash only, and they make to order. It's fun watching them smoke or grill the food. Typically standing only... and take out. I live closer to the food truck they have on Pennsylvania Ave but the lines are always so long, so I said let me try this location. As I walked in there was only 1 person who was waiting so my order was taken right away. The man who took my order was ok, somewhat friendly but without a smile lol. I ordered a small jerk chicken rice and peas with veggies and fried plantain, and a small stew chicken rice and peas veggies and fried plantain. The sizes are very generous, you get nuff (a lot) rice . The food was also very fresh BUT did lack so many flavors. Pretty good for some local food. It's hard to get good jerk around here these days. I remember when they had the food truck on the corner and a friend of mine said they actually opened up a location. I always stick to the jerk pork you can't go wrong. They serve very generous portions. I got rice and peas cabbage and plantains with my pork. And a side of Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese was simply ok, not by far the best Mac I've ever had but it can gwan. I was actually surprised they were out of oxtail gravy when I requested it for my rice. Overall food was good. Guess I came on a good day lol. Service was alright. I was in and out with my order. Next time I come here I'm going to try out their smoothies or juice. Finally had the chance to try the jerk chicken after watching the long lines up and down Pennsylvania ave. Now I will say that the 1st bite I took the chicken was fresh, but all I tasted was jerk no other seasoning so it made the chicken taste bland. As I always say with chicken is you have to watch the grill or you'll overcook and the chicken will be hard. I think I'll stick to peppas on Utica with the long lines! read more

While the wait can sometimes be long, it is worth it. Overall the service is good (with the exception of one individual). Besides that, the jerk chicken is absolutely outstanding. Seasoned and cooked well with great sized portions for what you pay. The chicken is knowingly cooked fresh as you can see the grill before you even walk in the building, blazing! It doesn't look like much... but the Jerk is very good. We had the meal with Jerk chicken and rice and beans. The portions were very generous. We ordered online through Yelp and then picked it up so we didn't have to wait. We are also ordered a small order of jerk pork which I gave to a friend of mine, and she called to tell me it was delicious and wanted to know where it was from.
