Rice and peas always the my choice of side, not a fan of the veg wished they offered the salad not at the extra cost also more gravy on the rice people like it that way. ***First time patronizing this establishment*** Stopped here for food on a Friday afternoon. It had a few patrons sitting and eating so I got a sneak peek at what the food would look like. The restaurant has up a thick bullet proof glass which makes it difficult to hear and speak to the workers. That didn't deter me I still proceeded to order, they are just preserving the secret recipe, haha. I ordered the dark meat jerk chicken and the jerk red snapper dinners. You can share with someone if your feeling generous because they pack the containers. They put the jerk sauce in small condiment cups, so make sure you have jerk sauce in your bag before you leave or else you'll just be eating charred grilled chicken. They would have received 5 stars if their oxtails weren't so awful. Everything else was worth it. I ordered 1/2 jerk pork, an oxtail meal, festival and red velvet cake through uber eats. I requested the sweet sauce for the jerk pork. They did not give me any sauce. The jerk pork itself was good but not aa enjoyable as if the sauce were provided. The oxtail meal was not tasty. I ate two of the smallest oxtails and threw out the rest. I ate the rice and peas that didn't have the oxtail gravy on it. The oxtail and gravy tasted like the only seasoning they used were thyme or oregano. And no, oregano shouldn't be used to flavor Jamaican or any Caribbean style oxtails. Obviously I'm not in their kitchen so I can't say for certain the exact spice, but I can say that I would never order their oxtails again. The festival was amazing! It was the right sweetness and density. It was soft on the inside and super crispy on the outside. The red velvet cake was also tasty! I would order from them again but I would never get their oxtails. The jerk was worth another try (even if they did forget my sauce), and the festival and the red velvet cake are definitely worth going back for. read more

After my last 2 visits, I see why it has mixed reviews. Let me start by saying that I am Jamaican. I may not be a chef or culinary expert but I have had enough of the food to know what it should taste like and look like. I was excited to come here as they are probably the only spot I have heard of that makes festival on a consistent basis. My first visit, the service was ok. The staff doesn't greet you, they take your order, you pay and go on your way. I ordered some festival (3 for $2, great deal!) and left. The festival was quite good. I wish it was a bit more crispy but as far as the taste and size, it was legit. Now that was the pre-test, the real test was that Jerk. I came back the next night and ordered 1/2 pound of Jerk Pork. That night, the line was long and SLOW! There were two servers behind the window, random people coming in and out of the back area, and the ordering system was different. You walked up to the window, ordered and stepped aside, then the staff member knocked on the window like your an animal at the zoo to tell you to come back and pay and gather your food. Again, there is no greeting, not even a "hello ma'am, your food is ready". That whole back tracking was stupid. Once you take my order, you should take my payment as well to avoid any confusion. Upon opening my food, I noticed that the Jerk pork was not done on the grill. It looked and tastes like the cook baked it. It was very moist, greasy, and the skin was soft. My mother makes it the same way, only because we do not have a drum grill. When I come to buy Jerk anything, I expect it to be jerked on a grill. I understand that "jerk" is essentially the blend of seasons but c'mon! Baked Jerk porn? Where? Why? Authentic Jerk pork is crispy and may be a little dry depending on who makes it. So I'm sitting down 15 mins went by im seeing everyone get their food so I go to the window and ask where is my food he said I never orders from him . I instantly got mad I'm waiting for 15-20 mins which already too long to wait for but then he says I never order when I clearly did if he forgot my order that's all he had to say but don't say I never ordered . More importantly his attitude was terrible if you want people to continuously support your business you have to have a positive attitude learn to accommodate the customers that's spending their money with you I can easily take my money elsewhere. I think these restaurants have to understand to keep customers they have to provide a service that's memorable in a good way because there are hundreds of Jamaican restaurants in the area people don't have to be a patron of your business .!! I think the managerial staff needs to talk to the workers about how important customer services . And if he wants his business to expand he needs to hire a consultant who can help him with training his staff with better skills . So I'm giving yardies 1 star for bad customer service . Also they only let you use your credit card for purchase over 10 dollars . The funny thing is sometimes they let you swipe sometimes they don't . Went here on a late night after work 11pm. Place had a few people in there and things were moving. I ordered the jerk pork with potato salad and veggies..... I gave it two stars because they just threw everything in my dish... (to go) it looked so messy. The pork was so dry they put so much raw onions on it. "I thought jerk chicken was supposed to be spicy?" Those my initial thoughts when trying out their jerk chicken. Other than the lack of flavor it was perfectly cooked. Very moist and the portions are large. The rice and beans was also cooked well and also came in a large portion. Unfortunately once again lacking in flavor. There was some sauce on top which helped to flavor the rice. As the saying goes "hunger is the best spice." The most likely reason nothing was left when I finished. The Mac n cheese was pretty good. A tad salty for my taste but I'm sensitive to salt so there's that. Not sure if I want to come back if I want jerk chicken. I will come back if I want perfectly cooked chicken though. read more
