    Sake Cup Selection
    Autumn M.

This place was so cozy! Upon entering, we were greeted with a welcoming person and they let us pick where we wanted to sit. Jonathan was our server and he was nice. We started off with some sake tastings. Once we picked a bottle, we were shown a tray of sake cups so we could choose which one we wanted to drink out of. Then, we got the kale salad and the kimchi assortments which were so nice and crispy. The salad dressing was also very umami I believe. I devoured them all and I don't even care for salad. The other courses were cooked for us and put on our plates. My favorite was the white ponzu sauce and the roll of meat in whipped egg yolk. We finished the meal off with a cup of tea that was on the house. We were definitely catered to and will be returning.

Second time back after 7 or 8 years. I thought about the sukiyaki style beef in the egg sauce all these years. And it was just was wonderful as I remembered. Went here with a group of 9 for a birthday, (reserved via resy), and they accommodated several allergies quite well, and were very thoughtful with substitutions and omissions for those folks. The beef quality was amazing, our server Brian was amazing, will be back for sure. The green tea (with refills all of dinner) was super high quality matcha, and is definitely worth it. The meal here was so delicious and beefy and so well done that I'll think about it for a while. Hopefully I'm back again sooner than 8 years.

Customer service is ideal, meet is above and beyond, the prices are pretty high, but the food is definitely great, it's vary nice inside

We decided to come here for dinner on a whim, and were pleasantly surprised when we realized it's connected to the sukiyaki restaurant IMA, which we absolutely love. We went with the "Yazawa Omakase" and meat was really good quality and the service was excellent..they're super friendly, attentive, and grill everything to perfection in front of you. My big complaint though is that their omakase options should definitely be more inclusive. I was a little surprised because aside from the appetizer, it was basically just meat. You have to order rice, vegetables, etc to make it a real meal...it's not really omakase in my book if you have to order so many things separately. Overall, I would give 5 stars for quality and service but only 3 stars for value...it's just a little difficult to fathom the price with so many better value options in the LA area.

This is my second time at Yazawa... I actually really enjoyed my first time at Yazawa and it was during Covid when we had to sit outside. During that time, the server was consistently checking on us. This time, there were multiple servers but felt like the service wasn't attentive at all. Had to wait for them to cook and/check on us. The food tasted better the first time too. I was wowed and excited to come back again. We got the Yazawa Omakase. It's actually not a lot of food with some really good quality pieces. Don't think it was worth the price. The garlic fried rice had no garlic flavor. Only tasted like a bunch of butter. They used dry garlic chips, not fresh garlic. FYI if you love garlic. I was annoyed because I expected garlic flavored fried rice. The experience felt underwhelming this time. I would not recommend this place as I know there are better places out there.

Wow wow wow. What an experience! Okay to start off, this is a pricey meal so be prepared to cash out haha. Went into this because I had been craving Wagyu so so much so I didn't want to sell myself short. Parking was not bad at all, it's on the street. I did come on a Friday evening and there were a lot of open spots. The meat quality though, was insane. It was the best Japanese bbq I've had in LA. Went with the tasting menu of course and it came with so much tender meat. The quality was what stood out for me though, because the quality was so good the flavors and the taste were out of this world. So yummy! The service was really spot on too, you get your own server that grills for you. I was so stuffed by the end of it and I'd love to come again! Sake selections were good too!

Yazawa is hands down one of the most incredible dining experiences in Beverly Hills the location itself is stunning especially right now with Rodeo Drive glowing in full Christmas mode it feels like you're stepping into a holiday movie from the moment we arrived everything was top notch we went with the Chef's Omakase and it was absolutely the right choice every dish was perfectly curated and beautifully presented did you know they import their Wagyu fresh from Japan every single day not frozen fresh that's insane and you can truly taste the difference each bite was buttery rich and melt in your mouth perfection it's the kind of meal that makes you feel genuinely special a huge shoutout to Justin for his amazing recommendations and next level customer service he made the experience unforgettable making sure every detail was perfect Yazawa isn't just dinner it's a celebration of flavor quality and hospitality highly recommended for anyone looking for an unforgettable night out in Beverly Hill

I feel like I'm in Japan. I love this place... like love love love. The flavors are amazingly on point with the flavors in Japan. The wagyu meat is out of this f-ing craaaazy world! Like WTF?! We ordered: shishito, tan tan noodles, vegetable soup, truffle mushroom, wagyu brisket and wagyu ribeye! My head was spinning from goodness! The service was superb! Jonathan was awesome! This place beats all bbq place in Los Angeles! I'll definitely be coming back!

This is my favorite Yakiniku place in Los Angeles. Service is great, food is great. It's a on the pricey side but it's worth it. Great quality meat.

We had a fantastic meal with friends on a week night. The selections were all scrumptious but the surprises were the grilled veggies and the chicken! I thought the corkage fee was too high but the meal was superb and the service was really really great. Don't miss the rice. I ate every grain!

We dined at Yazawa for my husband's bday and it did not disappoint. The entire experience left us reminiscing about our very first international trip together as boyfriend/girlfriend! We were lucky enough to travel to Japan and got to try authentic Japanese bbq there. Yazawa transported us back to Tokyo and we highly recommend anyone who wants a top class experience to come by. Service from start to finish was excellent. Servers were dynamic and friendly, explaining each meat cut and how to properly cook it. We had the confidence to cook our own meat after being shown a few times. We went with the classic omakase with the notion that we'd add more a la carte items if hungry. It turned out to be the perfect amount of meat. We also added the amazing garlic rice, house pickles, and salad. We want to come back to try the kimchi! My husband's favorite meat was the sukiyaki style with the frothy egg. It was sweet, juicy, and very unique. I couldn't tell you which I loved the most tbh. Everything was a home run and I was stuffed by the end. Ambiance is dim and cozy. Pro-tip there are bidets in the restrooms :') extra points for that! After 2 rounds of drinks plus everything we ordered, our total with tip was $500. My husband loved his experience and would absolutely come back. We'll see you again soon Yazawa!

Came here for my boyfriend's birthday, and it was absolutely delicious! We got the $140 omakase, and it was incredible. Each dish comes out with a creative presentation, and it was entertaining to listen to our waiter explain each dish/ cut of meat. Service was incredible. They were so attentive. It was also my first time having beef tartare, and I thought I was going to not like it since I mostly like my meats on the well-done side, but it actually was delicious and tasted similar to tuna sashimi. We added the wagyu garlic fried rice as an appetizer. It was a large portion enough to share for 2 people, so I recommend splitting it. There was the option to add a "Happy Birthday" dessert, which I think was an extra $25? The ice cream and cheesecake that it came with was not overly sweet, and a great way to end our meal. It was definitely a memorable experience. We would return sooner if it wasn't so expensive! Strongly recommend, especially for a birthday or special occasion.

Started the night with cocktails, and I can say, the Ambrosia is delicious. It has a tequila base with coconut cream and passion fruit. Just very good. The Light My Fire was a nice show as it cooked our and is kit on fire, but the first didn't match that is the Ambrosia. So, with DineLA, we were given bread and butter at the table. The bread was actually more they basic and had a nice flavor to it. For our appetizer, I ordered the steak tartar. On the menu, it had a lot going on with Dijon mustard, chili sauce, shallots, cognac, etc, but I can't say so if there ingredients were noticable in the flavor profile or on the pallet. But paying that on the potato crisps was still a decent bite. The salmon tartar was decent as well but didn't necessarily stand out. The real winner was the meat sushi with avocado cream and parmesan. Totally unexpected and very good! In terms of entrees, we tried a little of everything. I had the wagyu NY steak, cooked medium rare. It was cooked very well on the inside, could have had a better crust on the outside. And they give you your own side of kosher salt so you can "salt bae" it yourself. You also had a choice of side between mashed potatoes and mushrooms. I got the mushrooms and I'm very glad I did. They were very good with 2-3 tired of mushrooms in the medley. The prime NY steak was ok, it didn't really stand out, and the wagyu burger was also decent but, in Los Angeles, with so many great burgers, you really need to step your game up it you want to be noticed, and this burger did not accomplish that. With dessert, there were four options. I choose the San Sebastian Cheesecake, and, for our table, no one really loved it. It is definitely not your standard cheesecake, much less sweet and without that nice graham cracker crust you come to know and love. There was a chocolate sauce on half of it which gave it a little something extra, but it really was not a hit for our table. The pistachio baklava came with a show as the assembled it, but the energy of the show to assemble the baklava was better then the baklava itself. Overall, a nice experience, staff was nice and attentive to our take and our needs, but the food just didn't hit as we all hoped it would.

I really gotta respect their dedication to red meat and the holy art of cooking a damn good steak. This place is essentially what I'm looking for in a restaurant. Basically hits on all cylinders and checks off all the critical boxes. I don't want to sound all dramatic and such, but I'm dying to go back and try all the other items I didn't have, as well as check out the bar experience. I spoke to some locals outside before they opened, and they weren't just lovely -- they also painted a pretty picture of what the overall vibe is here. It's clear a lot of people in the Beverly Hills and Hollywood Hills area love coming here very frequently. Our server, who I assumed is named Nolan because that's what's shown on the receipt, was very accommodating, kind, and easy to talk to. I think he did a fantastic job dealing with my difficult, picky gf. Haha. I can't say anything was less than stellar. The croquettes in that celery purée stuff were phenomenal. Garlic bread was seasoned and baked to perfection. The bone broth sipper was nourishing af. French fries were perhaps the best I've had in years. Broccolini was fresh, high quality, and complimented the steak very well. I'm bummed we only got to try just the ribeye when it came to the cuts, but my gf did not want to order anything under medium or medium rare that night, so that was a bummer. It's her loss! The panna cotta was the creamiest sweet treat in all of LaLa Land. This is a great place, and it's a top-tier steakhouse. SoCal sometimes lacks places of this caliber that NY, Chicago, and SF / Napa have, but this place is a very close contender to some of the top cream-of-the-crop, steak-centered restaurants in the country. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and seated promptly. Unfortunately, our initial table was extremely close to a very loud neighboring party, making conversation difficult. To the restaurant's credit, the staff accommodated our request to move, and the new table significantly improved the experience. The food was excellent. We ordered the Dinner for Two, and every component was well executed and enjoyable. The quality of the beef was evident, and it was clear why MATŪ has built such a strong reputation. The cocktails were also well made. Where the experience began to unravel was the service. Wine service took roughly 20 minutes, dessert was noticeably delayed, and our server seemed to disappear for extended periods throughout the evening. The most frustrating part came at the end of the meal when it took more than 25 minutes to receive the check. When it finally arrived, it was delivered by a manager in a manner that felt dismissive rather than hospitable. To make matters worse, an automatic gratuity had already been added to the bill. While I understand the practice in some situations, it felt particularly disappointing given the level of service we received throughout the evening. MATŪ serves outstanding food, and that is what earns this review more than a few stars. However, hospitality is about more than what comes out of the kitchen. For a restaurant operating at this price point, the service should match the quality of the food. Unfortunately, on this visit, it did not. I left impressed by the meal but disappointed by the overall dining experience, and I'm not sure I would return.

If we didn't have a large meal coming, those bar bites looked so good! We ordered glasses of wine (5 of us). Three wines to choose from, Ridney Strong Cab, Mercedes Soliel Silver Chardonnay, and a Rose all for $10. We all ordered either the Cab or Chardonnay. We were pleased with the wine. I ordered the Cab and pleasantly surprised with how it tasted. Food. I didn't expect appetizers and so many of them with several tray passes. The servers passed them to each of us at arpund our tables. Gauacamole on Crostini, Coconut Shrimp, Corn Fritters, and Buffalo Hot Wing bites. They were all so tasty! Next came bread. Again unexpected as I knew Yorkshire Pudding would be coming with the Prime Rib Dinner. That bread was amazing and a huge basket! Warm and the crust was so crunchy. Seriously the star of the meal (or one of the stars!). Then came salad and then dinner but after all the appetizers, bread, and salad, I could barely eat! It's a bit hard to review this place with stars because of how uneven the experience was- I'm…read moreranking this experience by how I felt after dinner. The food and table side service was perfect, I will give it that- but the hostess ruined my husband's night by sheer carelessness and inattentiveness and it has ruined how I feel about this restaurant... for probably a long while. Great prime rib or not. My husband planned a surprise dinner for me with my sister making a surprise visit. He booked the ressie for 3 and told the hostess and other staff around her moments before we we were seated, to her face, that he wanted to keep the third guest a surprise for my birthday, and she, along with the rest of the staff confirmed and ensured they understood. So it was shocking to him when the hostess walked over minutes later and this conversation happened: "Are you ready to be seated?" I said, "yes." She looked around and quizzically looked at me and asked, "and everyone is here? "I said "yes." And then she said, "so there's 2 guests, not 3?" She looked down on her notes and said we reserved for 3. And I said, "no it's just the two of us. Wait. We have 3? Who's coming?" As I looked over to my husband, he started shifting and looked nervous and awkward and then sighed and blurted out, "well... you just ruined the surprise, but there's 3. Honey, your sister is coming to surprise you." He didn't want the lady to give up our planned table so he panicked and told the truth. 4 minutes later, my sister arrived. I mean, this was kind of unforgivable. I'm ok not being surprised but my husband was trying hard not to be miserable all night that his plan he had for me got totally messed up, and it soured the evening because I could tell how disappointed he was. I would have been more understanding if it was busy and chaotic, but it was a pretty slow night when we were there for staff to confirm conversations and not actually hear them. We come to these type of restaurants to celebrate moments. We don't eat prime rib on normal nights. I would even argue the experience is more important than how exceptional the food is, because we are here to make memories. I've been coming to this restaurant my whole life and now this is the lasting memory I'm going to have of this place. That one time this lady blankly stared at my husband fake listening while he tried to create a magical night for me. Inattentive carelessness.

There are a lot of pretentious cocktail bars these days with "technique" and interesting ingredients, but falls short in flavor and execution. Dante is not one of those bars. It's the opposite. Seemingly simple and fresh drinks ended up being cocktails that were all mind blowing. 10/10 would recommend to impress friends who like cocktails

After being seated, we waited nearly 15 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. Not even exaggerating on the wait time. When I ordered a Twist cocktail and asked if it could be made with tequila instead, our server said he would check with the bartender. He later returned and tol us it wasn't possible, so my friend ordered a different drink instead. What was frustrating is that he never mentioned happy hour had ended while we were waiting for him to come back. We were then charged $10 for the original drink we never received, and the replacement drink was charged at full price because happy hour had expired. That didn't feel fair since the delay was entirely on the server's end. To make matters worse, a 20% service charge was already added to the bill, yet the service was some of the worst we've experienced. Between the long wait, poor communication, and incorrect charges, the experience didn't match the reputation or prices of this restaurant. I wouldn't recommend it based on the service alone. FYI during happy hour selected drinks are $10

The staff also wears gloves when handling food. There are no hand sanitizers available for customers to use. This place is available for take outs and has some indoor & outdoor seating available with limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between customers. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was eating my food in this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They currently do have happy hour. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: They only have valet parking here. Valet parking is $15 not including tip. Apparently during peak business hours or during the holidays, they will jack up the prices for valet parking. You have been warned! The best part about solo dining is eating whatever the hell I want without any judgement or pushbacks from other people. And I could eat at my own pace and people watch. Food and Drinks: At the bar, I ordered their famous berries and bubbles cocktail. It is famously crafted with a mix of citrus-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice, marinated blackberries, and a splash of brut, topped with dry ice to create a billowing, theatrical smoke effect. This drink was incredibly fruity and refreshing. The perfect alcoholic beverage for the summer. When I finally got my own table, I ordered their famous jumbo lump crab cake, lobster bisque, and caviar as my three appetizers. The jumbo lump crab cake is a signature appetizer here at Ocean Prime. I like their generous portion of premium crab meat and its elegant presentation. It is served alongside a sweet and sour slaw and a zesty horseradish mustard aioli. The crab cake was very tender and sweet. It balances the richness of the crab with the bright, slightly spicy kick of the aioli. It was baked to perfection. The lobster bisque was so yummy and creamy. It is a rich, velvety soup made with tender lobster meat and a flavorful broth. I like that they have generous, tender pieces of butter-poached Maine lobster in the soup. Ah yes. The Sturgeon caviar. Yes, I am a fancy and extra woman, and I have extremely expensive taste in food. I love me some artisanal caviar. Yum! Anyways, this wasn't on their menu, and I had to special request this. Caviar served on mini pancakes?!?! Say less! I loved how fluffy and soft the mini pancakes were. The caviar had a luxurious, buttery texture. It also had a subtle briny flavor. I found that the caviar bursts on the palate rather than tasting overly fishy. Honestly, putting the caviar on top of the sweet mini pancakes was brilliant because the mini pancakes acted as a neutral canvas so the distinct briny taste of the caviar could shine through. Moreover, I ordered the lobster linguine and sea scallops. The lobster linguine is a popular seafood entrée featuring fresh al dente cooked linguine tossed with succulent lobster meat, roasted tomato butter, arugula, chili flakes, and freshly grated parmesan. Btw, I hate arugula, so I asked the staff to remove it from this dish. Flavor wise, this dish had a delicate balance of rich roasted tomato butter and a kick of spice from chili flakes. I'm a sucker for all things pasta, so this dish hit the spot and satisfied my pasta craving. The sea scallops were fire!!! The jumbo sea scallops were perfectly seared to a golden brown, moist, and tender. The sea scallops were severed on a bed of lobster risotto. The lobster risotto was very rich and creamy. They used a rich Arborio rice cooked with chunks of melt in your mouth lobster, roasted tomatoes, and a savory shellfish. This dish won my heart. And finally, for desserts, I ordered their famous 10 layer carrot cake and creme brûlée. Now, normally, I hate carrot cakes, but since this was highly recommended, I decided to give this a shot. Needless to say, I still hate carrot cake, but I could appreciate this restaurant's take on this dessert. The cake itself was very moist and tasted spicy due to the cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. This dessert is layered with lots of cheese icing and pineapple syrup. I found the cream cheese icing and whipped cream to be extremely delectable, but that's about it. The creme brûlée is a classic and indulgent dessert featuring a rich, velvety vanilla custard, a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar crust, and fresh seasonal berries. I loved the warm and crunchy top, and I truly enjoyed the rich, vanilla-scented custard. Staff: The staff here are very welcoming, attentive, and chill. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum.

This place might have been a hotspot a decade ago, but it clearly hasn't kept up. We came as a party of six and every single person left disappointed, which says a lot. The biggest issue was the food quality. We ordered a wide range of items, including sushi, steaks, sides, and dessert -- and not one dish impressed. Service however was great - 2 stars for that .  Both sushi dishes had to be sent back, which is already a bad start for a restaurant of this caliber. The steaks, which should be the highlight, were underwhelming and but not terrible. Sides didn't redeem the experience either, infact the lobster mac and cheese, in particular, was shockingly bad. It tasted like microwaved Kraft with a tiny, almost nonexistent piece of lobster. Our favorite item on the menu was the bread basket and bone marrow.  Even dessert fell flat, which is rare to mess up but somehow still happened. For a group of self-proclaimed food lovers, this was genuinely surprising -- and not in a good way. There are far better options at this price point. Steak 48 easily outshines Mastro's in both quality and execution, and even BOA along with BLVD deliver a more consistent and enjoyable experience. Overall, a VERY disappointing night and absolutely not worth the price point. You're better off literally in any steakhouse but this one.

The setting is lush, elegant, and wonderfully peaceful, with the terrace overlooking the gardens and pool area. We randomly ended up here after being in the hot sun shopping Beverly Hills. Such a nice relief. We started with the bread, which was simple but delicious, then had the strawberry gazpacho, a refreshing and unexpected summer dish that felt light, bright, and beautifully presented. The corn agnolotti was a standout, rich and delicate with that perfect balance of sweetness from the corn and savory depth in the sauce. The bolognese was comforting and satisfying, a classic done well, and the Caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and but not presented as a traditional Caesar. It is two romaine wedges. We ended with the chocolate mousse and it was a lot of food. Maybe better to share as the portions are generous. The food, atmosphere, and service made it feel like a true Beverly Hills escape. It is a lovely choice for a special lunch, a girls' day, or taking visitors somewhere that feels quintessentially Los Angeles.

Hmm... where do I start?…read more I was interested in booking one of their private dining rooms, so I reached out well in advance. I have to say the communication leading up to the event was pretty disappointing. I sent emails, called multiple times, and often got no response. I eventually found out that only certain people handled private event bookings, but getting in touch with them was a challenge. Every time I called the hotel, I was told they had sent the events team a message. Even after I finally secured the reservation and paid the deposit, I still had questions that went unanswered. In fact, some of them weren't addressed until the night before the event, which was pretty stressful when you're trying to coordinate a special occasion. For a hotel that markets itself as a luxury 5-star property, I honestly expected much better communication and customer service. The booking process definitely did not feel like a 5-star experience. That said, once the day of the event arrived, everything went much more smoothly. The service during dinner was good, and the staff took care of us well. We had a prix fixe menu for our guests. I had the steak, which was cooked really well, and the tiramisu was a nice way to end the meal. Most importantly, everyone had a great time, which is what mattered in the end. One tip if you're planning to come here: there's an underground public parking garage right next to the hotel that's much cheaper than using the valet. Overall, the food and service on the day of the event helped make up for a lot of the frustration beforehand. I just wish the communication and event planning process matched the standard that The Maybourne advertises.

Our server, Levi, provided outstanding service throughout the night and was super knowledgeable and attentive. He was honestly the main reason we had such a lovely time, as his energy was great and he was constantly checking in on us and making sure we were satisfied with everything. To drink, we had the Yuzu Whiskey Sour and the Melrose Passionfruit Martini, both of which were refreshing, delicious, and paired well with our food selection. I also had a Raspberry Breeze mocktail, which was sweet, tart, and bubbly! To eat, we started with the Rock Shrimp, which had a great spicy flavor and crunch to it. We also tried the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice, which I liked, but I think the price on this item is a little steep, and you might be better off ordering another roll or menu item. Chef Salvador graciously sent over some Bluefin Tuna and Yellowtail nigiri for my partner and me to try, and it was such a thoughtful gesture and delicious treat for us.
