We met in Tempe for a family gathering and chose YC's for its convenient location. Parking was easy, and there was no wait when we arrived. The propped-open doors made for an inviting entrance. After paying, we headed to the line. An odd moment occurred when the cashier approached us as we were grabbing bowls; he mentioned it was his duty to remind us not to "compact" our food bowls with our sauce bowls due to health department rules. Despite that strange interaction, the rest of the experience was smooth. Our food was cooked quickly, the drink station was full, and the rice bar was well-stocked. They were out of soy sauce bottles, so we had to use packets instead. The staff cleared our plates promptly, and a young boy even came by to offer us fortune cookies. Overall, it was consistent with the Gilbert location, and we'd return if we were in the area again.

Staff was extremely helpful! Smiles all around. Restaurant staff was continually working to keep everything clean. Food bar was fresh and full. We drove over an hour to eat here...please consider opening one in Prescott Valley

Best Mongolian spot in Arizona!! A build your own concept with a bunch of different protein, veggie, and sauce options! Not only is the food amazing but staff is out of this world! Everyone is extremely welcoming and helpful throughout the experience and they also give great recommendations as well! Always a go to spot for me!

We came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon, and it was busy but not overwhelming so. The host was friendly and helped us promptly. The food is done buffet style. You grab the ingredients (meat, veggies, noodles, and sauce), put them in a bowl, and then bring them to the cooks. They sauté/grill everything up and give it back to you ready to eat. The only potential downside is that if you choose a bad combination then perhaps you won't enjoy your dubious creation. This place is worth checking out though!

YC's was an absolute *staple* for me growing up, so you can probably imagine my glee when I moved closer to this location. First, the good: The service was impeccable. Fast, knowledgeable, and friendly. When I got to the end of the food line and was ready to put together my sauce for my meal, a very efficient gentleman asked me the flavor profile I was going for, and mixed my sauce for me. The food was very bit as good as I remembered. I ended up going with wheat noodles, bean sprouts, zucchini, beef, water chestnuts, and mushrooms (I belatedly realized I'd forgotten carrots) and it was the best. thing. ever. The sauce was perfect too - a little sweet and a bit zippy. It took virtually no time at all to go down the line and add ingredients to my bowl and the thin tissue they provide to pack the bowl with is really helpful. I also love how they cook the food on their giant woks right in front of you. Now, where there's room for improvement: The prices were muuuuuuch higher than I remember. My fella and I paid almost $40 - he got a large and I got a small. Granted, that includes an astronomical amount of food as well as a drink (and free ice cream!) it was still more than expected. The place was also very very loud. Plenty of seating available, but not terribly spread out and boy, does sound travel. All in all, the price being higher than I remember won't stop me from frequenting YC's. You do get what you pay for here, and the food is really really good.

Why did I not know about this spot sooner!?!? This place is a steal! I love a good noodle stir fry and I think I found my spot. For 20 bucks, you can get a large bowl and load it up as much as you want, and I mean load it up! They have chicken and beef meats as well as pork and fish for dinner. They have all the veggies and noodle choice. And then at the end you can crate your own sauce. Since this was our first time, the manager asked if we wanted help with our sauce, we said yes and he made a perfect sauce based on what you like! He was great! They also have rice and soup included with the price of your bowl, as well as frozen yogurt and a drink included. This place is amazing you can definitely get two meals, maybe even three depending at how good you are at stuffing your bowl. It is .50cents for a box but well worth it for the amount of food you can create!

Highly recommend coming here! You get a good bang for your buck! Staff were friendly and helpful! This was our first time here! The place was clean. They had a great selection of options and you could add whatever you want to your bowl. I did the large bowl and paid 50¢ for a to go box. You can load up your bowl and they cook it for you. The ice cream, soda fountain and rice and soup bar were also included! I took home a full box of leftovers and was able to get 3 meals with my $20 bowl. I highly recommend coming here. I also loved they had a protein noodle option! They were excellent!

    Stack it!!!

The experience was amazing: Good service Piling noodles into a bowl Fairly cheep Clean And getting to watch people using giant chopsticks cook your mountain of a bowl. 5 stars do recomend

Too excited to eat it to take any photos until I was almost done. The small was too much to finish!

In Phoenix for the Billie Elish concert. Decided to stop in for some Mongolian BBQ before heading back to the airport. Delicious, fresh, clean and a wonderful service. The man at the desk (the owner?) explained the set up and helped me make the best stirfry of my life!! Not all you can eat like other Mongolian bbq I've gone to. But I prefer it this way. There was plenty and the place was spotless and the ingredients were high quality.

Five stars all the way for the tempe YC on w elliott! Delicious! Ben our host was super kind! Very clean . Ingredients for stir fry were well stocked fresh and the Mongolian was amazing. If i could sum up this place in a few words it would be: kind, clean, delicious and GENEROUS. Generosity is the name of the game here, where else are you getting a bowl of veggies, noodles, meat & sauces where the only limit is how high you can stack it PLUS unlimited rice PLUS the best darn wonton chips PLUS two types of soup PLUS a drink for less than $20 FOR A LARGE MIND YOU. All of the employees are so helpful, from the cook who added extra sesame oil for me when I forgot, the cashier who asked if I needed sauce recommendations, to who I believe was the owner who checked on us while we were grubbin & gave us to-go boxes. All the veggies were so fresh and flavorful and the noodles were cooked to perfection. What a gem of a place. Can't wait til I'm back in Arizona to come here again. You don't find generosity like this in Cali hardly anymore!

Every time I go here with my husband we have such a fantastic time. The manager is real nice and will chat you up with sports if no one is waiting in line (we try to come when it's not too busy), the restaurant is clean and wide open with several tables and booths, and there's only one rule with building your bowl: you can't let it fall off. Now, this takes some practice learning to line the bowl with meat and pack it down before creating your own jenga tower of noodles atop veggies in the middle and meat at the bottom, but then you get to create the SAUCE! My husband wanted to go to culinary school and just happens to be a better cook than me, so he usually helps me create a masterpiece of sauce that I can enjoy too because I have food allergies to pork and peanuts. :/ When you get to the counter where they cook, all you need to do is let them know you have a food allergy, and they'll immediately clean the grill so you don't get sick. They also cook everything in front of you, and give it to you once it's done. You can choose to leave a tip or not, but it's not required (though I recommend because they work hard and I myself used to be in hospitality). There's a small bar with rice, soup, and wantons, and there's a soda station behind it. They have 4 types of tea, and I live for it when I'm there, especially their raspberry. You can choose a booth or table, and this place fills up fast, so expect to choose an open spot if you arrive during busy hours. This is a family friendly place that comes with high chairs, but don't expect to order anything off menu because like the name suggests, this is a Mongolian Grill. You ain't gonna find no hacks or secret menu items. You get whatever they're serving in the bowl building line. Fantastic service, and the food is just as good in leftover form. Boxes to go are available, though you should be aware there is a small fee per box. Nothing outrageous, but something to know about. 5/5 every time we come here and would recommend!!

I used to go to the one in Tempe on Southern and McClintock a lot pre-Covid and was sad when that location closed down. When my boba sistah suggested this spot for a lunch I was excited to try this location out. The restaurant is a few doors down from the Sweetwaters shop, on the opposite end. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and the shaded patio is quite lovely. You pick your size bowl, and whether you want soft serve for lunch (I think it's included for dinner). The large bowl is only $1 more than the small so I went big, as I didn't want to go home. The meats are thinly shaved and frozen so don't be afraid to pile it on your bowl. Push it all down with the paper that is offered next to the meats and then pile on your vegetables, noodles and sauces. I appreciate that they have tried and true sauce mix recipes but I usually go rogue and create my own with varying results. My mixture of YCs own, orange sauce, garlic, ginger, Thai peanut, and curry was decent but probably could have used some more YCs sauce or soy sauce to balance out the more sweet flavors. Oh well you live and you learn! I also didn't realize they have sesame oil as well as chili oil right next to the sauces so layer that in if you'd like. At the counter they have more chili oil bottles and sesame seeds if you'd like to finish your bowl with those toppings. Rice (white and brown), 2 types of soup and wonton crisps are also offered at a little stand you'll see after getting your cooked bowl. I enjoyed both the YCs signature soup (A chicken and veggie concoction) and the spicy beef. Drinks consist of fountain sodas and various iced teas. Since I had a towering mountain of protein and vegetables I was stuffed after eating half of it so I got a to go box ($.50). I figure it will be good for dinner or for the next day. Service at the register, grill counter and clearing our plates was very friendly and pleasant. I'm a fan of this location! If I lived closer I'd be here more often but when I'm in the area this will be a great place for a design-your-own stir-fry meal.

Read the owners attempts to make everyone wrong who has a poor experience below and then threatens them with legal action, which is illegal! So I am expressing my disappointment with the treatment and overall experience I had at this restaurant. Unfortunately, from the moment we walked in, the experience was unacceptable from start to finish. To begin, the restaurant itself was in very poor condition. There was spilled liquid on the floor with a wet floor sign placed over it, but no effort was made to clean it up. Flies were present, and despite the restaurant being nearly empty, there were very few clean tables available for customers. At the register, I was prompted by screen to enter my phone number for your rewards program. While I was in the process of doing so, the cashier, the brunette employee wearing glasses, abruptly cleared the screen and told me that there was no rewards program and that I didn't know what I was talking about. This was both dismissive and unprofessional. As my friend and I proceeded through the buffet line, the same employee stood across from us and closely watched every item we placed in our bowls. This behavior felt intrusive, uncomfortable, and unwelcoming. The situation escalated further when I prepared my sauce in a bowl and added my noodles into it so they could absorb the sauce. The employee loudly reprimanded me, stating that noodles were only allowed to be placed on top of the other bowl, not inside the sauce. This seemed arbitrary and unnecessary, especially given that we had both purchased large bowls and did not take advantage of other included items such as drinks beyond water, soup, rice, or dessert. Being spoken to in that manner over something so trivial was frustrating and embarrassing. It felt as though the focus was on policing customers rather than providing a clean, welcoming, and professional dining environment. I have attached photos showing the condition of the restaurant and the lack of attention to cleanliness and customer service. It is concerning that more attention was given to monitoring customers' food choices than to maintaining the restaurant or assisting guests appropriately. I strongly encourage your team to reevaluate staff training, customer service standards, and cleanliness protocols at this location. This experience fell far below what should be expected from your brand.

First off, the concept is elite--you build your own bowl like a culinary mastermind. Want noodles? Done. Extra meat? Obviously. Way too many sauces because you got overconfident? No judgment here (we've all been there). Then they take your chaotic masterpiece and toss it on a giant sizzling grill like it's dinner and a live performance. The cooks? Absolute legends. Watching them work that grill is like witnessing a mix between a chef and a DJ--flipping, chopping, spinning your food like it's a hit track. And somehow, no matter how questionable your sauce combinations were, it comes out tasting incredible. Portions are huge, prices are fair, and the vibe is always fun and laid-back. It's the kind of place where you accidentally eat way too much and then immediately start planning your next visit. YC's isn't just food--it's an experience. The orange chicken is tasty too. The desserts were just okay, they look fun and cute, but the flavors were a bit simple for my taste. The staff are very nice, friendly, and quick, which made the experience even better. The restaurant is a little old, but it's still clean and comfortable.
