This place is clean, small, and has korean vibes because of the music videos. It's next to 24hr fitness plaza in the corner. When you look at their food displayed in the glass, the meats like the pork, beef, fried chicken are freshly cooked. The food displayed are for image. Korean food is always pricey. The staff are friendly and patient. The cashier is very nice even though my interaction is awkward because I'm overthinking while talking. He charged me full price for ddbokki (the rice cake thing, it's $5 off weekdays lunch) but gave me a free side for the error which is ok. My wife and I came here for a quick and fast bite. We were expecting the food to be good because of the YD name, but we were blown away by the quality. We got the 5 item super combo. Ordering is like at panda express where you choose a plate combo with a base of rice and then your items. It's a fast process and the service was excellent. The food is definitely sit down quality. The Japchae was sweet, slightly salty, sesame oil kissed and very satisfying. The noodles were plump and wasn't over cooked. The fried chicken was battered so it wasn't in the same style of Korean double fried, but it was still very crunchy and juicy. We got the normal uncoated version and the spicy coated one. We liked the original version better. The other side dishes like cucumber kimchi, banchans, rice and zucchini pancakes were all delicious. The ingredients were good, the fermentation and spices were spot on. The flavors were on point and delicious. Overall, we were so satisfied by YD Togo. When we walked in the layout of the place was kind of confusing. You have to go to the left to see all the food just to go back to the right past the door you came in. I can only imagine how cramped it would get if just a handful more people were there. I think this is the first time I've ordered Korean food cafeteria style, so my expectations for the quality were a little lower already. The meat tasted pretty standard, as they were actually made to order, and the jap chae was good, but the pancakes weren't very good in my opinion. I couldn't tell what texture they were supposed to be, probably because they were sitting out. This place is probably a one-and-done for me. We usually order through doordash, but we decided to come in person this time. service was pretty quick but we were not greeted given that its a small space. I really enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and fish cakes. The white bahn chan in what looked like mayo was amazing and the hot sauce was Really good! Some food is dry that left out in the hot bar, but it's not awful. The bulgogi and short ribs could use longer marinating time because its not that flavorful without hot sauce, but it could just be the batch we got. My daughter loves the Dudukbokki here, which is why we will keep coming back. "Popcorn chicken" (chili) is basically chicken nuggets now .. this use to be my favorite item on the menu cause they use to make it so good but I don't know why they started using chicken nuggets ... I got the jajamyeon noodles and the 4 item plate with white rice, chicken, braised potatoes, kimchi, and pancakes. Jajamyeon: bouncy, thick noodles with a savory black bean sauce and a fried egg. Loved the texture of the noodles and the sauce was super flavorful and silky. Made to order too so it was hot when it came out! 4 item plate: the reviews don't lie when they say the portion sizes are generous. They even added on some additional banchan at the end (broccoli, seaweed salad, and spinach I think). Favorites were the braised potatoes and chicken! I was a little worried about it since to go places can vary based on time of day/if the food was made fresh, but the chicken kept its crunch even though it was sauced (even as a leftover the next day). Extra surprise in the bag was also a little yogurt probiotic drink!! It was so cute and I loved that they do that. If you're looking for a quick Korean meal, YD Togo is a good option. It's located in a strip mall anchored by the movie theaters on Center Pkwy and Bruceville Road. It's tucked in a corner by the gym. YD Tofu House is my favorite Korean spot in the area and I had high hopes for YD To Go. In all fairness, this location has food out in heated stations and you pick what you want. This usually means food is out and can sometimes dry out in the process. The quality might not be the best. Still, its a decent option if you want Korean food fast. You can create a rice bowl or a plate with 4-5 items plus rice. You choose a protein and side dishes. You also have the option to order entree items such as soup, kimbap, bibimbap, fried rice, ddukboki, korean corndogs and seafood pancake. We've gotten the beef bulgogi, kimbap, ddukboki, tofu soup and mackerel. All the items were good, but nothing to write home about. Pricing is in line with korean food meaning that it's not cheap. We'll usually get a jumbo and share it. Service is fairly quick. If you order a protein that needs to be cooked, it will take longer, but not an unreasonable amount of time. Depending on the day and time of day, parking can be a challenge. read more

Finally got a chance to try this corner shop today and it really helped reenergize me. The server was super nice. The way this place works is you'd enter and there will be a display of food and you'd get to choose the food you want. The premium choices are cooked upon order so they stay hot. If you do not want one of the Togo platters, you can order one of their other entrees. This place really is meant for Togo as there are only 3 tables inside and a few more tables outside. It's meant more for people who need a quick stop to eat before running off or just grabbing food for later I got the plate with beef bulgogi, sweet chili popcorn chicken, japchae and the potato croquette. I honestly didn't realize how hungry I was until they scooped up my food, or it was so good, I became hungry. Beef bulgogi - I really only waited 2-3 minutes for it. It's not marinated in case anyone was expecting that, but still flavorful and good to eat Popcorn chicken - I think I ended up preferring this over the beef bulgogi because it had lots of flavor and still was pretty crunchy when I got it. The person helping me really tried to cram as much as he could in too, so thank you! Potato Croquette - I'm not sure how long it was just waiting at room temperature, but it was still very crunchy when I got it. I heard the crunch in every bite, but the inside was soft and light. I recommend eating without the ketchup they provide, it's such a treat on its own Japchae is just what you'd expect. First part of the platter I finished. In a nutshell; really is a togo place as there are a very limited amount seats, food is ok, it's rather pricey as well. If you're looking for Korean food to go and this was the only place around then I guess I'd say it's an ok option if you're only looking to buy one thing. It's get an ok selection of Korean sides/entrees/dishes to make a meal out of. Very yummy, filling, and good for price! I got beef bulgolgi with white rice, japchae, potato croquettes, and Korean pancakes. The meat is cooked well and goes great with the soft, fluffy rice and japchae! Toss the veggies on the side into the mix and it's a balanced meal! I kept craving Japchae, and so an online order was placed at YD. The "Jumbo" consists of rice and five items of your choice for $17.99 (note that some of the menu items will increase the base cost). I ordered brown rice with Japchae, Fried Chicken, Spicy Chicken, Korean Pancake, and Seasoned Radish. Much to my disappointment, they were out of Japchae! This was not discovered until the order was picked up, and ended up trying the Cucumber Kimchi, Braised Potatoes, and Fried Dumplings. I thought the Seasoned Radish was going to be the cubed, white radishes rather than pickled ones (kind of brown in color). I was also really disappointed in the Cucumber Kimchi. It didn't have any of the water drained from the cucumber, so it was a mushy, watery consistency rather than crisp tasting. My favorite item was the Fried Chicken. It was perfectly crisp and crunchy. I personally preferred the Fried Chicken over the Spicy Chicken, since the Spicy just had sauce slathered on it and it loses the nice texture. Wow, I was not expecting the amount of food you get with an order. I was in the area and had a hankering for some bibimbap, and stumbled upon YD Togo. I thought I'd get a simple rice bowl type of thing, but to my surprise, they gave me this massive bowl, a tray of banchan, and a big ol' serving of kimchi. The banchan is a meal in and of itself, and the actual dish is easily two hardy meals. I couldn't get half way through it, so tomorrow I'll be tossing the banchan and kimchi into the rest and have a second kingly feast. I thought it was a bit expensive given what my expectations were, but now I see why. If you wanted to order for two, this easily makes two meals and you'll both be stuffed. I feel bad for the workers though because it's pretty hot there during the summer. They have extra ACs running in top of the main AC and it's still kinda not fun. They were playing what I assume was K Pop, which I wasn't particularly fond of, so it was a bit of a relief to get out of there with my to go order. Not a place I'd want to dine in at. I have never been to any of YD Tofu's sit down restaurants but have heard many great things about them. Wish they had a sit down restaurant in EG but this to go version is still a great option. They are located next to the fitness club instead of being near the other restaurants in this plaza. The place is small and tight. There are 3 tables in the restaurant on the side but it's a corner establishment so it's going to be a tight squeeze. Upon entering, we have the menu and a buffet style of picking and choosing. I got so overwhelmed with their menu and what boxes to get. I love Korean food so I need to be careful at what I choose since I know I'll go overboard. Portion sizes are large. And try the brown rice. Rice is part of the boxes so I like to try something different. Korean brown rice is different than the atypical brown rice and it looks exactly like what my friend used to eat in college. A little bit thicker in texture and kinda clumpy but that is the nature of the rice. My order was initially a 4 item plate but then I had upgraded to the jumbo plate which is an additional item. The items can be any so that means choose your meats, your ban chan, kimchi, you name it. There's also kitchen items like their seafood pancake, bibimbap, kimchi fried rice that are an additional wait. Got the seafood pancake as well. The cashier said the pancake is big and is good for 2 people. Great! He explained that it was about a 15 - 20 min wait time which was fine with me. You can also purchase kimchi or any of the sides for an additional fee depending on the container. They also play K-Pop songs which was a mixture of old and new. When I was there, they were mostly playing the girl groups songs such as SNSD, Brown Eye Girls, etc. When m my order came out along with pancake, the pancake was humongous! It came in a large pizza box and the oil was seeping through the box. So yes, my car seats were oily. There is plenty of foil wrap in the box but it was so oily and greasy. FYI, this seafood pancake isn't made for 2 people. It's made for 4-6 people because it's huge! It comes with dipping sauce and was still crispy on the drive home. Ok so I've been watching a ton of Kdramas and reading lots of Manhwa lately and they been eating so much good food in them it made me crave tteokbokki and kimbap LOL! So of course I thought it let me order from YD Togo cuz I know they will have them and more! Ordered online and headed over. Everything was piping hot and ready for me. Staff have always been super friendly and professional. The tteokbokki sauce is sooooo flavorful. It's not just spicy, they make it with carrots onions and fishcake so it is so tasty. The rice cake are perfectly chewy. The portion is more than enough for 2 people and comes with a hard boiled egg, fish cake, and mandu. I added extra fried fish cake too. The bulgogi kimbap is big, warm, and stuffed full of beef. I wanna try the veggie one next time because I love Korean veggies and pickles. Can't recommend this place enough! read more

YD's galbi is my fav!! All the banchan I've tried are all really good and flavorful too. The menu was a little confusing to figure out. The plate includes 4 items of choice, rice,bean sprouts, spinach, and the little yogurt probiotic drink. Certain meats can cost an additional $3-4. I chose galbi($4) so it came out to $19.99 for my plate. I like that they cook the meats to order! But it can be a bit of a wait for a togo place. It looked a little chaotic and unorganized while they were doing the orders but they're still new and trying to figure out what works best for them. It's small inside but they do have a few tables if you want to dine in. We took it to go and it was still nice and warm when we got home. Overall really good food and good portions. Tried YD To Go for the first time Saturday 12/3 at lunchtime. Parking is very tight since it's next to the salon, Taekwondo, gym, etc. where California Express Pizza used to be. Yes, YD Togo House is affiliated with YD Tofu House (both Folsom Blvd and Freeport Blvd locations) and it's neat to have this option closer to Elk Grove/South Sac for Korean food. When I was at Ice Dream and Pho Le a while back I saw the signage for YD Togo coming soon and definitely intrigued. I was the only customer (while I was waiting for my order one more person came in after me), and it was my first visit but I had already scoped out the menu photos here and knew what I wanted to get. Bowls are 1 item+rice, Plates are 4 items+rice, Jumbo is 5 items+rice. Dinner items also available such as tofu soup, kimchi fried rice, ramen, bibimbap, Korean hot dog, seafood pancake, grilled fish, etc. Decided on the Plate for this first go, which is 4 items+rice. Everything counts as an item, like if you wanted all the different meats plus rice; but certain meats cost extra. This time I got the galbi (beef shortribs), teriyaki chicken, japchae noodles, stir-fried anchovy, and the beansprouts and greens banchan with white rice (brown rice also a choice). The other meats (all are made to order) are bulgogi beef, bulgogi pork, fried chicken, and sweet and sour chicken. They did have cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, fish cakes, fried tofu, dumplings, potatoes, cucumber, broccoli, salad, etc. as other "items." There are screens for the menu but also the hard copy folded menus. Food took about 15 minutes. Included in the togo bag was a probiotic yogurt drink, and utensils, and teriyaki sauce on the side. Didn't ask for any hot sauce. Very small inside. When you enter, start placing your order all the way to the left toward the Christmas tree, then pay at the end at the register. There are a few sit-down tables inside, didn't notice if they had a patio like Cafe La Vies or Pho Le yet. The teriyaki chicken was a decent portion, nice blackened grill marks although the teriyaki sauce was a bit salty. The galbi sauce was good but lacking those same blackened grill marks. About 5 ribs included in the order for that section of the box. Noodles were great, the anchovies were sweet! Everything was still warm. I like their galbi better than Gangnam2Go's boneless galbi on Elk Grove Blvd, but G2G has bulgogi kimbap so don't count them out altogether! read more

So I had added this place to Yelp when I saw them working on it a few months ago. They finally opened. It is like Panda Express style. They have food made up and it is sitting in warming trays. You pick what kind of plate you want and get the entrees and sides. You can also order some stuff and they will cook it for you. It is part of the YD tofu House on Fruitridge. The guy was really friendly and explained it all. I got a plate and picked the short ribs, fried chicken , sweet and sour chicken and the japchae. They included bean sprouts and some greens. Oh I got the brown rice. All of it was pretty good but the food was kind of cold and I don't live very far away. I was thinking the food would be cold to. I was cravinggggg Korean yesterday but didn't have the time or stomach for ayce. So I'm glad YD is one of two togo KBBQ's in Elk Grove. The guy behind the counter was very friendly and helpful! My receipt says Xander so hopefully that's the right guy! Xander went through the menu and how to order and even offered samples! I went with the jumbo plate and ordered the pork bulgogi (+$3), Yangnyum fried chicken, Japchae, cabbage kimchi and cucumber kimchi. My plate also came with rice, bean sprouts and spinach. At first glance, it's A LOT of food. It was very appealing to the eyes in terms of portion to dollar value. I think they may have taken other reviews into consideration and increased their portion sizes, which we love a business who listens to their customers. The pork bulgogi was tasty but a lot of the pieces were fatty. Just straight up pork fat. Lol the container also looked large because there was a bed of onions under the meat. The onions weren't caramelized either. Literally just raw onions, which was really disappointing because I love caramelized onions mixed in with my bulgogi. The Yangnyum fried chicken was great in size but the flavor was strange. It didn't remind me of the delicious Yangnyeom chicken I've had in the past. I could clearly see the gochujang but didn't taste it. It also lacked the spicy factor and I didn't taste garlic. The japchae was really tasty and the portion I got was almost more than the rice. I wasn't a huge fan of either of the kimchi which was a bummer. I love cucumber kimchi, it's my favorite, but this one lacked flavor. It was really liquidy so the gochugaru wasn't sticking to the cucumbers. The cabbage kimchi left a strange aftertaste. It was super bitter. I think it could use more time to ferment tbh. The bean sprouts and spinach were good atleast. My meal was about $22 and I ate it for lunch and dinner so I do think the portions as of now are good. But, it does seem ridiculous to offer bulgogi and galbi and up charge. If you were to order a standard plate without any up charge then you're really only left with the chicken teriyaki and banchan...I think it would make more sense if one meat was offered and if you added another "premium" meat then it would be an up charge? Or just have these plates already created instead of a "create your own" format. It's a bit unorganized and deceiving. I love YD. It's probably my favorite Korean place, so I was super excited to see one open up closer to home. Unfortunately, it's not a great value. I would rather just drive to the Freeport location and get the full spread of banchan and a full sized entree portion. As others have noted, it's deceptive that banchan count as an item for the plates. I think it should be a "full size entree" and you pick a few banchan..more like a bento box I guess. The tofu soup was more worth it. You get 4 banchan (but you don't get to pick - it's just the bean sprouts, yuchae which has the same flavor as the sprouts and broccoli, broccoli and cucumber). You also get rice and kimchi. They don't tell you that you get these "extras" on the side though, so they could forget and you just miss out if you don't know any better. Service was friendly and we got our food in like 10 min. Note: we came around 6:40 on a Tuesday evening. It's super small inside. Only room for one party to fit between the window and counter. It's a weird layout.. two tiny tables inside and two outside. Not much space to wait around for your order.. Would I come back? Idk.. maybe for some tofu soup or the banchan but I don't think I'll ever do the plates. Wanted to like it and had high hopes but it was a let down. If they change their plate options and portions, I think that would make everyone a lot more satisfied. read more

I don't come here often, but when I do on a rare occasion for Korean foodie has been a great experience! The first time I was there was monthsss ago, the server Zander/Xander was super patient & kind on helping me navigate the menu with the diff options~ it made me felt really comfortable and enjoyed all the yummy Korean food that taste just as good as the YD Tofu restaurant! I went back today due to feeling sick & just needed something quick to go. The same server was present and as always was very kind and thoughtful with customer service. He made sure my soup and sides matches well with what I prefer since I am feeling sick. OMG the best authentic Korean store in EG since I've moved here. Located conveniently at my favorite plaza for grocery, bakery (T5), dessert (iDream)! We ordered pork leg (Jokbal), lots of kimchi, beef bimbim, and combo plate. All the food are so good and authentic! The gaibi taste just so good! Was torn between that or bugogi! The 4 specific veggie side dish set is so freaking solid! No wonder it is fixed to those 4 options! The other sides are good too but those 4 made me felt like home!!! The service is also excellent! Hubby wanted beef bimbim which I discouraged, as I knew those are usually cold in a typical Korean restaurant. They informed about the dish serving cold and suggested the alternat stone hot bimbim option, which is so nice of them as that's way more work for them to transfer that into that nice foil container presentation! The jokbal is just as amazing as if I were having it in Korean town in Toronto and Hong Kong! The cooked menu will take a little bit longer to cook, but definitely worth the wait! This place is alright but for what you get it wasn't worth the money. I got a plate with brown rice and 4 sides: fried chicken, sweet and spicy chicken, braised potatoes, and jap chae. The fried chicken was very crispy but a bit too salty. The sweet and spicy chicken was basically the fried chicken covered in a sweet and spicy sauce. Both chicken sides only come with 2 wings so you don't get much. And it is also overly breaded to make it look bigger than it actually is. The braised potatoes came with ~ 5 quartered potato pieces. They have a sweet glaze with them and were overall pretty good. The japchae was ok a bit on the sweeter side. The plate also comes with free bean sprout and spinach side dishes for free. I also got the potato mozzarella corn dog. This was a disappointment since it is barely bigger than the free yakult they give. For $6 I expected more. The temperature was lukewarm so it clearly wasn't fresh and the cheese was still a bit hard so there were no cheese pulls. And the corn dog seemed to be fried too many times since the potato pieces weren't even starchy anymore. They were fully hard potato pieces full of oil. So I would definitely not recommend getting the corn dog here. Overall I would rather go to the non-togo yd restaurants since you get much better quality of food for the price. read more

We discovered this 4 star eatery on yelp. Overall I liked the variety of items on the menu. This evening we opted for the Jumbo combo and chose the 5 different chicken items. The fried chicken comes without, or sauced with sweet and sour, and as yangnyum. Those were very tasty. The teriyaki and chili sauced popcorn chicken were tasty but overcooked tonight. The sides were a hit! The location is clean, offers some seating, easy to find with plenty of free parking. Service was quick and very friendly. We'll return to try other options. read more
