Theres a server named Nasha who is absolutely terrible and mean. she bitched at us several times for "standing in her way" even though the entire bar and restaurant was packed- we had nowhere to go. even as we moved around the establishment trying to find a table she always had something to say. it took everything in me not to say something to her because it's not worth it. overall the service was terrible and everyone acted like they were doing us a big favor by getting us our drinks and food. Used to love this place but was so upset after my last visit. The staff is incredibly rude. I went there to pickup an order and after being ignored they told me they didn't have it. I showed them my order confirmation and the waitress said they don't take caviar and proceeded to ignore me. I'm like, well I got charged. She told me if I wanted to order again she'd rush it. So I told her okay, I'll place another order. She then told me I had to order at the bar. I went to The bar and again, after being ignored, told it was going to be a 40 min wait. Cheap food and heavy pours (sometimes) but terrible customer service. The waitresses/bartenders don't know how to tend to customers, leaving people sitting and waiting to try to get someone, anyone's attention to get a drink. If they actually get your drink order right, it's usually a heavy pour. But if not and you complain, or if you complain about having to sit for 15 min being ignored (even in an empty bar) they'll under pour your drink and add their tip to your tab. Also it's a good idea to pay cash as one of the bartenders likes to steal credit card info. (Speaking from experience). Finally not sure why, but the bartenders like to huddle over the credit card area with their backs to the customers. Watched this happen for about 45 min yesterday. Been here before quarantine and it was great. But I went for the first time in seven months and it was awful no one wanted to help me or my date. After sitting there for at least 15 minutes giving them the benefit of the doubt so that the servers could sanitize and clean up other tables, we were met with no service, so we waited longer and still met with no service so we left and went to the Red lion Inn where were we were helped quickly and graciously. When you do get lucky enough to grab one, the typical LA "social troglodytes" that serve here seem to feel like they're doing you a favor by doing their job. First time here and asked for their best drink, to which she replied, "I don't drink alcohol so you're gonna have to pick." Not even worth the effort of making something up to get me to buy a drink. The best damn dive bar in Hollywood. This old school neighborhood of Hollywood/Los Feliz (which is actually real Hollywood not to confuse with West Hollywood) has many dive bars. I mean, as the coolest part of LA (not counting DTLA) you must have dive bars, and this one has been sitting on its crown for years!!! Sorry Ye Rustic Inn but you failed me. I wanted to try to support a local spot AND get some good wings. Seems like a win-win right? Nope. I tried calling personally to place my order but no answer, voicemail. (I know delivery/order services charge fees so I usually try to just call..) Waited five minutes. Called once again. Same thing. No answer. Now mind you this place is NOT busy.. it's empty. Then I place an order via Grubhub, pay for it and then after about 30 minutes my wife went to pick it up. They said, "There's no order." My wife insisted there was so she called me. I then texted her my receipt and order info etc. Two seconds(literally) after she hung up my order was canceled via text message claiming there was a "problem". Coincidence? Of course not.. Dark, cheesy dive....It's so dark you kinda have to stand by the doorway until yur eyes adjust so that you don't walk into anyone. Usually when I happen here, there are a number of biker, rocker and rollers in leather jackets at the bar....its often crowded, and the music is so loud you have to sit very close to talk to anyone, which is a definite plus depending on who you are with.... You could wear, act, do anything, and its all cool. (Nix that, I did come here one time after work in a suit and THAT was weird) The chicken wings are crazy incredible, the drinks are strong. Love the leather booths!!!!! They are the semi-circle ones meaning you can sit close to, not apart from your date. Hashtag romance. I've never had a bad time there; with the very dark lighting and a few of their stiff drinks I'm definitely as slim and pretty as my drivers license purports me to be. Two months later, an update: Back to Rustic four times since I wrote that initial stuff..... Here with Tasty at 11:30 a.m. for the "Bloody Mary Breakfast" --- Tasty & I were running up and down Hillhurst trying to find the "perfect" place to eat, and finding none that we hadn't been there before, popped back in here because we were so hungry and our car was so far away....Aero Smith "Home Sweet Home" is blaring in the background which is awesome at 11:30 in the morning. We order "double" bloody marys, omelets (you can get pancakes, french toast, eggs benedict too for the Bloody Mary breakfast all for $11.75!!! (The price has gone up but still a good deal) and chicken wings (extra crispy medium spicy plez, sauce on the side for our Ye Rustic Breakfast. Love that the rocker all in black girl at the juke screams across the bar "SHUT UP"... and that the old man at the bar yells at the sexy bartender, "YOU'VE GOT TO BE FUCKING KIDDING ME"" Which I think is awesome....I could scream "EAT POOO POO" and no one would blink an eye! I can do anything here! We think this is the perfect place if you are an alcoholic, where at 9:30 am there are tons of folks already lined up at the bar, and it ain't a big deal to order whiskey. Except for the waitress who gasped when I asked for egg whites for my omellette, this has been a wonderful Ye Rustic experience. The food tho carb filled was good nuff. ( ingeniously on a different Bloody Mary breakfast Sunday I ordered the steak and scrambled eggs with spinach and mushrooms, magically transforming my dish to carb friendly since they forgot to bring the toast) On a positive note, it's a tad less busy during the day....and I can see the make out booth to our left is free. By far, my favorite bar in the area. The music selection has been exceptional every time I've gone. Why? Rather than being boring/hipster/indie/folk/gross music they play songs that everyone and their mother can sing along to aka a guaranteed good time for all!!! Last time I went the playlist went from Michael Jackson to Justin Timberlake to Beyonce to Aerosmith to Kanye to The Police to 2 Chainz. I was in heaven. The kitchen has not skipped a beat since they reopened. I can still count on the quality wings, burgers, and mozzarella sticks that I've ordered for the last 5 years. Frankly, that's the only thing that makes me want to come back anymore. Historically, this has been my favorite bar in Los Feliz because the cooks knock it out of the park and the bartenders/wait staff knew their stuff. The latter is no longer the case. The staff acts as if they don't want you there and will legitimately ignore you until you walk up to one of them as they're on their phone and ask them if someone will come to your table. If you're lucky to get a seat at the bar, you're a bit better off as far as service goes. A recent example - Hour waits on mozzarella sticks are not cool. Bar was 75% packed, I get it. Pre-covid, this would have never happened. I ordered an extra set of wings to go. Got home and opened up the container to see a large batch of seasoned fries where my wings should be. It doesn't surprise me though-every time the waitress came to my table she appeared to be barely paying attention. I'm perplexed as to why they've gone downhill so fast. If it's a new staff, I can understand the stress. That's not the vibe I'm getting from them. It's as if they all ate a 100mg edible before heading to work. I usually tip pretty fat here and it's like they don't care about my money. I've introduced dozens of friends Ye Rustic. You guys - you have the best wings in town and a die-hard local fanbase.
