It's the biggest game of the year in the WORLD and you couldn't run a list the night before for what you needed? The food was pretty good, though. We shared wings and fries and they were tasty. The atmosphere was fun and set up for exciting visuals. Several big screen TVs, music during the commercials and a really cool wait staff who seemed to know all the regulars on a first-name basis. We came to this place to have a drink before a concert. On a Saturday night around 4:30 PM. There was not a lot of traffic. I'm surprised that the place does not have a lot of traffic was pretty empty. Their bar is very beautiful. Inside feels like lounge vibes. Our friends ended up ordering the chicken burgers and french fries and while OMG there's so much seasoning there. I really appreciate the ranch at the Korean chili oil like side dipping so good! 10 out of 10 the food is so good here. I would like to come back and try the food. The menu says happy hours are 5 PM to 8 PM Monday through Friday. But they're a sign at the bar says Monday through Sunday 4 PM to 8 PM. Definitely recommend coming here! This is based on the wait time for the food and the taste. Went on a Wednesday night and there were only three groups there. Waited about 30 minutes for our food to be brought to us. Didn't realize we were waiting that long til my boyfriend brought it up. I noticed that the bar tender was multitasking and taking care of another group while the food runner was taking his break, so he might have forgotten about us. He finally looked over at our table and realized and went to get the food. So on that side, it's a great location with plenty of TVs and the sound is almost too good, but very loud. The drinks are average pricing for the area and the food/happy hour menu is pretty slim but expected. The food was taking a bit of time, but i believe this was because of how busy the place was for the viewing party. We had hour hour priced sandwiches and fries, not bad for what you got! If you are arriving here for a viewing event and want a seat, I'd suggest getting here in a good amount of time because they don't have a crazy amount of booths. I went here to watch the Pacers vs OKC while visiting LA. I loved the ambiance and aesthetic and it definitely felt like a more elevated sports bar. Service is bar only, so you have to go up anytime you want to order. The wings (all flavors) were some of the best I had. My husband felt like the burger was just ok (a bit too greasy). The chicken sandwhich was good, but I was probably too full from the wings to really enjoy. The only bad part of the experience were the fries. The Palm and the Pine is one of my favorite bars in Los Angeles. From the moment I first walked in I was welcomed with open arms by the owner Colin. EVERYONE is so friendly and the vibe is always great. And they also have a great happy hour that lasts until 8pm. I love all the bartenders but my favorites are Ben and Jose. They are always SO incredibly attentive and super friendly. The type of bartenders that give you a glass of water even when you didn't ask. This is definitely my "Cheers" bar here in Hollywood. 'The Palm and The Pine' is from a point in our glorious state where an actual pine tree is next to a palm tree and considered the natural break between SoCal and NoCal - how awesome is that! Tender and Champagne kinda person and when paired with the phenomenal Riviera Salad they are quite good. I am also a ranch person love that their ranch has actually gotten thicker to live beautifully on ones chicken tender! We finally got to meet Colin who actually worked hard to make this concept a reality - He built the bar from tables that were from the previous spot KOTA and even the front door was made from a table I probably sat at. They are doing great things here and I look forward to their newer brunch items - there is something called a 'Pancake fry' where you ill be ordering these but dip them in the maple syrup and a bunch of new brunch items! We went here on March 23rd to have dinner and watch the UCLlA vs UCONN basketball game - it was very empty and they were out of most beers and even some cocktails on their menu. We made do with what they had. My husband and I shared wings - they were good, we also got garlic fries for the table they were also good. The Palm and The Pine is a local spot in my neighborhood and definitely now my favorite to walk to. A few coworkers and I dropped in last month and we had such a lovely time. I think between the five of us we ordered all of their house cocktails and each sampled them among ourselves--there was not a single cocktail I tried that I wouldn't order again. I honestly can't pick a favorite. We still talk about and crave the chicken tenders with the Korean sauce. We ordered a few smash burgers, a Caesar salad, chicken tenders and all of it was delicious. Just well-cooked and simple but delightfully surprising (the sauces!) food. I'm excited to go back and try the wings. Their happy hour---in this economy?! The prices are extraordinarily reasonable, even on their standard menu. Its reaffirming to know you can still get this degree of quality without blowing a significant percentage of your paycheck. All of the staff we encountered were friendly, helpful, informative and really understood the balance of checking on us and leaving us to chat and enjoy each other's company.
