Avocado toast with egg and bacon
    Elissa H.

We ate at Yellowfin many times over a bachelorette weekend. I had a burger and fries after a long flight. Delicious but expensive. A bagel and cream cheese after our first night out. $7 but worth it. And this avocado toast on our last morning. This was definitely the best thing all weekend! Again, wildly expensive for what it is but you're paying for convenience!

Zoom in right top corner- long hair stuck

We went to this restaurant for Thanksgiving at noon and we sit outside (we had a dog). It was raining and they push us to the outside and went I sit down I was all wet. I decide not to say anything and brushed off. We felt a little weird since the begging as service was not bad but they were no good either. Was a strange all over interaction. So we order food and when the coconut shrimp appetizer came, after the first bite we found a long hair stuck in the fried batter of on of them. I decide to inspect the other ones and we found 2 more with hair stuck!!! We felt disgusted by the quality and talk to the sever and told her that this is not what we expect and to cancel all our order. She didn't even call the manger or knew how to deal with the situation, I guess she was just embarrassed but it ways. I would no recommend this place at all. If you zoom in on the photo and see in the right top corner you would see one of the hair sticking out. We didn't pulled all to show the server. It was really long.

Great service and well prepared food! We got the breakfast free with our room and couldn't recommend it more!

Jen is a bad mommy! She has a heavy hand and a light personality. The woman knows people and she knows how to pour a stiffy.

Alex V was an amazing!!! He went above and beyond with service. Such a kind and sweet man.

And I have come back here several times this time we brought some friends. The food again was amazing. I went off the wall and ordered cauliflower steak. It actually is pretty good but I like cauliflower. I did order it with grilled shrimp. Next time I think I'll go back to seafood because I do like my seafood :-) The other thing I noticed tonight they had Pilar rum. That's my upgrade over the mountain rum. Peggy had the wet salad, Janice has already tuna nachos. That's what I'm ordering next time it looks awesome. Matt had the garlic shrimp that looks great too. There were no leftovers. Another outstanding night at yellowfin bar and kitchen.

Yellowfin Breakfast* Eggs (cooked however you like) White toast (others available) Bacon (sausage is another option) Cheesy potatoes

The breakfast lasts from 8:00-11:00am. They also have a cafe that has more of to go items. We arrived around 9:30am. The reason I state that is because I was looking to order a croissant with my breakfast & they were out. Minus 1 star. Food: The food was decent as well as my latte. I ordered their main breakfast (pictured). A little overpriced but so is almost everything in Key West. I do have to say their cheesy potatoes that come with the main breakfast are delicious! Service: Service was okay. My husband is unable to have added sugar at this time so he tries to stick to protein & veggie options. He opted for the omelet (not pictured) which he liked. He wanted a smoothie but asked the waitress if their whey protein had any extra sugar in it & instead of offering to go see she just said she didn't know & it comes out of a bin so she wouldn't even be able to read on the label. Fortunately my husband isn't allergic to sugar, but hopefully they take any serious allergies into consideration for any future guests. Minus 1 star. Ambience: It was a nice area on the patio right next to the marina. Chairs were comfortable. The only complaint is lack of enough shade if you want to sit outside. There were plenty of guests who were trying to pull tables & umbrellas from other areas of the patio to try to get a decent spot. But inside was air conditioned & had nice views also. Overall: If you are a guest in the hotel, it is worth a try. If not, there are better meal options closer to downtown.

We stayed at the resort and it was vacation life. Great staff and food. We enjoyed lunch and breakfast at the Yellowfin Bar & Kitchen. Everyone is so friendly from front desk to housekeeping. Beautiful hotel and restaurant and would return to stay and dine the next time we are in Key West!

The food is excellent--flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and consistently satisfying--but what truly sets this place apart is the service, especially when you're seated at the bar. As a bar guest, I experienced something far above exceptional. It felt like walking into a place I already loved and being shown the very best of it by people who genuinely care. To the bartenders and staff who made every visit feel that way: Dairy-ah (I'm almost certainly butchering the spelling, but the pronunciation stuck with me), thank you for the warmth, the skill, and the way you made the bar feel welcoming every time. Lucy--always with the hat on backwards--you became my spirit animal the moment I realized how perfectly that energy matched the whole vibe of the place. Thank you for being exactly who you are behind that bar. Brittney, the chillest of them all: your calm, easy presence made everything feel lighter and better. Chelsea, I only got to have you serve me once, but that one time was enough to know how good you are at this. And to the Servers, Paul and Lola: even in our brief interactions while I was at the bar, both of you brought such strong, genuine personalities that it elevated the whole experience. Thank you for that. Blue Heaven is an amazing restaurant with great food and even greater service. But more than that, it's the people who make it feel like coming home and being shown the best time in a place you love the most. Thank you--truly--to all of you for making it feel that way. And to Henry, a longtime regular at the bar, who passed away during my visit. "His" presence was clearly part of the fabric of this place, and I'm grateful I got to share that space, however briefly, with the people who knew and cared for him. Thank You All, and sorry if I didn't list your name in this review because there were far more of you than I've mentioned, just Know my early mornings sitting at the Blue Heavens Bar, was the highlight of everyday I spent in Key West. Then, we were served by John, the owner and master of the house! From the daily specials and thoughtful drink options to the first bite--a crostini topped with farmer's cheese and herbs--we knew we were in for something special. The Shrimp & Mango Toast appetizer was honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten. The ingredients didn't necessarily make sense on paper, but together? AMAZING. We could have eaten another order! Both couples ordered the grilled Caesar salad, to share and it was perfectly portioned. The grilled romaine had a wonderful sweetness, topped with crispy Parmesan and a dressing with the perfect lemon-to-anchovy balance. WOW! For entrées, our table tried the bacon-wrapped ricotta-stuffed chicken, signature Yellowtail Snapper, Beef Stroganoff, and Key West Pink Shrimp with chili glaze over creamy risotto. We cleaned our plates and LOVED every bite. I rarely order dessert, but after a meal this good, we had to try their award-winning Key Lime Pie. It was truly the best I've ever had. My entrée and dessert were both delicious and beautifully presented. The chicken practically fell off the bone and was incredibly flavorful, while the desserts were simply outstanding. During our meal, Louie came out to check on everyone and told us we should call him "Big Louie." He even promised that if we ever shouted his name while in trouble around town, he would come bail us out, just once. As fate would have it, my girlfriend and I were later surrounded by seven seashell-wielding gangsters, two suspicious pelicans, and a man dressed entirely in inflatable flamingos. The gangsters demanded our wallets, our leftovers, and proof that we had properly enjoyed the ocean view. Just as I prepared to defend our honor, I shouted, "BIG LOUI!" into the night. A foghorn blasted, a nearby conch shell began playing the opening notes of "Eye of the Tiger," and a black 1969 Chevy Camaro came roaring around the corner. It had flame decals, orange dice in the mirror, and what appeared to be a tiny disco ball hanging from the antenna. Big Louie stepped out wearing a sequined tuxedo and carrying two limited-edition baseball bats signed by Babe Ruth, Elvis Presley, and possibly one of the pelicans. He tossed me one, struck a heroic pose, and together we performed a ten-minute, perfectly choreographed defensive dance routine that sent the gangsters fleeing into the mangroves. The pelicans applauded. The inflatable flamingo joined our party. Big Louie charged us exactly one rescue and then disappeared into the night as confetti fell from the sky. It was a wonderful experience.

I've made it countless times over the years, and every trip to Key West included a return visit because it was that memorable. Unfortunately, that era is clearly over!! The last few visits have been a huge disappointment.. What was once a beautifully presented, flavorful dish now looks like it was carelessly thrown together. The shrimp and grits that inspired me for years no longer resemble, or taste like, the original. I don't know if the restaurant has changed ownership multiple times or simply lost its way, but the quality has fallen dramatically. To make matters worse, our most recent dining experience was just as disappointing as the food. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet our party was told we had to leave because our reservation time was up. There was no one waiting for our table, and with so many empty tables throughout the restaurant, they easily could have accommodated us elsewhere. It felt unnecessarily rigid, cheap, and frankly arrogant. It's sad to see a place that was once a true Key West gem decline so dramatically. Between the disappointing food, lackluster presentation, and poor hospitality, it simply isn't worth the price anymore. Sadly, this restaurant has gone from being a "must-visit" on every trip to the Keys to a place I'll never return to. There are far better restaurants in Key West that deserve your time and money.
