Our asked what did we want to drink. I believe her name was Crystal. Later she took our order. She checked on us often. The gentleman also checked on us. He cleared our plates fries the tabke as needed. Excellent customer service. The food was very good. She brought out soup and salad first. Once we were done eating that she brought out the entrees. I had steak sandwich. My coworker had salmon and vegetables. We loved everything. The steak and salmon work cooked to a perfect medium as we requested. Both of us were full. Our server asked if we had room for dessert. They have a spiced apple cobbler. As tempting as that sounded we had to decline. We couldn't eat another bite. There's parking out front. Yellowstone Cafe isn't far from us. I've known about it for years. Ive heard good things about it, and still we never made it there! We finally changed that. We went in and were warmly greeted. The hostess asked if we preferred a booth or table. I wish all restaurants did that! My husband is not a booth guy and we're usually taken to a booth. I try to remember to tell the hostess we preferred a table, but I forget ti sometimes. Anyway, we were seated at a table. Our server, Anya, came over right away and took our drink orders. When she brought our drinks back, we had a few questions and also asked for recommendations. She was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We made our choices and placed our order. I can't say I ordered the most healthy food, but it was good! I had coconut shrimp and onion rings (both from the appetizer part of the menu) and liked both of them. I found it strange that both come with honey mustard sauce! I did get some Thai sweet chili sauce for the shrimp. My husband really liked the walleye. The only negative - it wasn't very crowded, but it took longer than what we think is reasonable to get our food. The place is decorated in a very old style. There was plenty to look at on the walls! There's a lot of fishing pictures and fishing items, etc, on all the walls. But it works! I imagine we'll be back and we'll see if we can sit in Anya's section! read more

I ordered the Cheddar Burger cooked medium with fries and pickles. The burger was cooked perfectly. The cheddar cheese was not melted all the way. The burger was under seasoned. I was in a hurry so I got takeout - walleye dinner. Came with a huge roll, side of vegetables, and a giant piece walleye. Veg was good, sautéed fresh and crisp. Roll excellent. Walleye was amazing - fresh, moist, well seasoned and breaded - held up well with the take out packing. Salad was large, average. Service at the bar excellent as well as from the hostess. Let's start with the Walleye----delicious!!! This unassuming restaurant in a strip mall in a busy area of West County has some delicious meals. The service was solid and friendly. Large portions and fresh veggies as sides. The only reason this didn't get the full five stars is that the salads are weak. Nothing bad just nothing special. The staff was extremely welcoming and friendly. The food I would say is hit or miss. The basa fish was incredibly delicious and perfectly cooked while the chicken florentine was tender and I could taste the grilled flavor, but the spinach topping wasn't good at all. The black bean and corn salsa was cold and an unnecessary plate filler. I ended up eating at Yellowstone Café twice in a week. I hadn't been here in years. The first time we were a party of 2 and I ordered the honey Dijon salmon on the salmon run menu. I had a salad and a baked potato as my sides. I found the salmon to be slightly less rare than I would have liked but otherwise all was good. On my second trip we were a party of 3 and I ordered the Blackened Chicken Sandwich (no bun) with a side of the mixed vegetables. This was delicious and the perfect amount of food. Loved the pepper cheese and the blackening seasoning. Both times the service was friendly. I'll be back sooner rather than later! read more

They have a shared parking lot at the restaurant interior area where you can sit down and eat and then they got an area by the bar where you can either sit at the bar, sit in booths and eat and seeing a ferry. Nice in here, especially if you like fish. This might be the place to go. They have a full bar. I'll see all type of liquor here. The people seem pretty nice. I know they have desserts. I can see about five different types of pies or cobbler. And they have about two or three different types of fish walleyes the main one, Then they have a white fish and salmon, I think she had one more other fish. I'm going to taste the food and find out what we are working with here, and how good it is. If you order the fish sandwich you get one side. If you order the fish platter you get two sides. The sandwich comes on a bun. If you get the platter the no bun. If you have a group it looks like they accommodate a group too. Party of 8 Monday May 4, 2026 630pm. Started off with Spinach artichoke dip and homemade onion rings for appetizers. Everyone had a small house salad with choice of dressing. 3 people ordered the Walleye fish dinner 1 chicken florentine 1 grilled chicken 1 coconut shrimp 1 burger and fries and one appetizer lobster ragoon for entrees. Our waiter was very polite and efficient. Two people got home made peach cobblers to go. We did have some wine and cocktails to add to our experience. The atmosphere was nice and the decor quaint. Requested separate checks and our server was more than happy to accommodate that and we were more than generous with our gratuity. read more

I'm giving this place 5 Stars. I live very close to here but never got around to a visit. Finally, last Saturday I stopped by. I was by myself and ate at the bar. My Bartender/Waiter was Anya. And she was excellent. I ordered what they call their Shore Dinner. This came with a large, mild, white fish filet that was almost as long as the plate it was served on. Also ordered fries and coleslaw. Also came with a roll and butter and a pinch of corn/bean relish. All for $22.00. I generously squirted Tabasco sauce on the fish and fries. LOL For hot sauce lovers, this is the perfect fish to order. I call it Louisiana style Fish & Chips. I took half the filet and tarter sauce home and had a fish sandwich the next day. LOL Reasonable drink prices too. All good. On the menu I noticed they have a 10oz Ribeye Steak dinner for $24.00. I'll have to try that next. An inexpensive type steak I can use Worchester sauce on. Small place inside strip mall in a chesterfield. Cutely decorated in fishing gear (they collect old fishing gear). Known for their walleye so of course that's what I had to try! It did not disappoint! On Sunday and Tuesday nights they have discounted walleye specials! Their rib eye also looked delicious as someone at my table ordered it. They did run out of Cabernet, which they apologized and quickly replenished by the manager. This is a very homey feeling place that makes you feel welcome. We were celebrating my mother's birthday during this visit. Our waitress stated that for any special occasion they take a group picture and print it out on a card for us to take home. Yellowstone Cafe is a hidden gem for my family. We've been there once before and everything was great so we decided to celebrate a birthday there. The campfire appetizer was just enough for our table of 6, the roasted red pepper and Gouda soup is a must have. The walleye is delicious as well and everyone enjoyed their desserts. Lunch special was very generous. I got the fish like everyone else around me did. It was very well seasoned and cooked. You didn't need any sauce. I also got their version of tomato bisque and they served it with crackers and softened cheddar cheese. It tasted like those Handi-snacks you ate as a kid with the little red stick.
