Great drinks! Their happy hour is good but they only have one cocktail on happy hour. So we ended up ordering from the regular menu. They have flat breads on happy hour that are amazing. We had crab Rangoon and it was very interesting to have those flavors in a flat bread. Tasted amazing. Service is nice. They're not friendly or add anything additional in service. It seemed a surprisingly quiet night at Timothy's for a New Year's Eve. Tables were about full when we arrived, but we must have been the last reservation they accepted (at 8:15) because when we left at 10 we were the only ones left and the staff had reset the room and was starting to gather in the bar. As they should on NYE. Still, we never felt rushed. In fact, our waiter, Todd, was very attentive and even slowed down another server who was going to bring us our salads (a house and a caesar with anchovies) before we had a chance to finish our appetizer (a savory and spicy jambalaya arancini). Good catch on his part. We both had a glass of prosecco to start and then split a bottle of French pinot noir (Domaine de Valmoissine) to go with our entrees (steak tip pasta and steak frites). My wife loved the pasta dish (fresh pappardelle with steak tips, demiglace cream sauce and shiitake mushrooms) and my steak was perfectly prepared medium-rare with crisp and flavorful garlic fries and a side of green beans and shiitake mushrooms. It's the kind of meal and service we've come to expect at Timothy's. We look forward to the spring and some new menu items with the change of seasonal foods. read more

My absolute favorite place to go--whether it's date night with my hubby or a night out with friends. The food is consistently amazing, the drinks are always on point, and the atmosphere is just right. We recently celebrated a friend's birthday here, and I chose the location. A few people at the table were skeptical after first glancing at the online menu but let me tell you, that skepticism didn't last long. I'll never stop talking about Timothy's! We recommend it to people all the time! I honestly have no idea how many times we've been there. It's fine dining but without being stuffy like some places are. The fact that a lot of the staff has been there since we started going there a few years ago says a lot. We all know there are so many staffing changes at restaurants. My husband and I went there last night. The service was, once again, top notch. And the food was so good - as were the cocktails! They have some staples on their food and drink menus, but they change some things up seasonally. Our cocktails and my entree were both from their new fall menu. I've been wanting to check out this place for a while and finally made it out to their happy hour on Monday night. I went with the cocktail of the day which was tasty and boozy at $6 along with the pimento cheese tots ($5) and sprouts ($10). The tots were good and it was a generous portion for 5 bucks but maybe a little over-fried. The sprouts were amazing! Thr sprouts are served over whipped blue cheese. I'm typically not a blue cheese fan, but the flavors really complemented each other and I would definitely order this again in the future. The inside is dimly lit with an upscale but accessible feel. This was the place I was most looking forward to during my trip to visit my friend and unfortunately it turned out a bit disappointing. The service was spectacular and we have no complaints there, but the napkins and tablecloths smelled extremely stale which made it hard to get comfortable. We ordered a bunch of different items: French onion soup Lobster pot pie Deviled eggs Cauliflower Pork chop Beef roast Steak and fries Bananas foster Complimentary birthday pineapple upside down cake The French onion soup was fairly strange in that the cheese was melted over the slice of bread and you can just remove it from the soup. It was okay - the broth was good and the onions were jammy. Needs more melty cheese. The lobster pot pie needed pieces of chunky lobster. It kinda just tasted like soup with filo dough. The deviled eggs were fine. The cauliflower was pretty good but there was a lot of it (not necessarily a bad thing) - but the blue cheese was fairly heavy. For the entire, the meats were cooked well and the portions were big. I think the sauces needed a bit more flavor to go with it. The bananas foster was purely for fun - it was kind of whatever as a dessert but the presentation is cool. However the biggest surprise of the night was the complimentary dessert for my birthday - which was a small pineapple upside down cake. That cake was incredible. Overall - it was fine - but food was just slightly lacking luster. And they need a new laundry service. Staff was great though. read more

I've always wanted to try this place and last night I got the chance to finally go. Upon arriving I was immediately greeted by several staff at the front door. My party was already there and seated. One thing I did enjoy was the small intimate setting this place gives. Our waiter had exceptional customer service in discussing the menu items and we both settled on a pepper crusted steak, asparagus, and mashed potatoes. We both asked for the steaks to be cooked medium well but they and they were cooked perfectly. The food was seasoned well and I enjoyed the meal. Several people who weren't even our waiter came by and asked several times if we needed anything and again I appreciate that level of service. The sweet potato curry soup was a fantastic starter. We absolutely loved the bananas foster dessert. The star was lost for the entree. Truth be told I would line to give 3.5 stars. I got the signature tenderloin. I was very disappointed. It was served cold. The mashed potatoes tasted like they were powdered. The brussel sprouts were mushy and overcooked. My fiancée got the steak top pasta and felt under impressed. The waiters was personable and attentive. The atmosphere was fabulous. I appreciate a peaceful and clean environment. I love being able to have a conversation without shouting. I'd definitely return for dessert and drinks but most likely would not recommend for a meal. I tried my husband's crab and sausage gumbo (with white rice on top). Absolutely delicious, and he said it is some of the best gumbo he's ever had. I ordered their chicken Caesar salad and will definitely order it again! The homemade dressing is divine and the chicken was grilled perfectly (too many restaurants don't get it right). The croutons were disappointing (slightly sweet and oddly soft as if they're trying to be something else like cookies). The split hard-boiled egg is good but not necessary. First I have to say Amanda our server was killin it! She had the whole front room to take care of and she did not miss a beat. You could tell she was stressed but still wow! My friend and I came here for happy hour on a Thursday and we will be coming back! The place is very quant and cute. They have a nice bar area and a little dining room area. My friend and I chose to sit at the bar and all the bartenders were friendly and fun to talk to, shout out to Barret! For drinks we decided to get the cocktail of the day, which was a blood orange gin martini. This was very good! For food we split the hummus tray and a strawberry flatbread. The house made hummus was delicious and had a really nice spice to it. A true hidden gem. I have probably driven past this place and never knew it was there. I met colleagues for dinner and we all had an enjoyable experience. The space has a very hip vibe. The tables are intimate and cozy. Our server was prompt, professional, and offered excellent suggestions. The wine and cocktail list has something for everyone. I was most excited about the food menu. In true foodie fashion, I always study the menu ahead of time so i am familiar with what is being offered and have some idea of what I want to eat. The stand out items were the crab Rangoon flat bread pizza and the lobster pot pie. Both were everything I needed it to be. For my entree the oxtail Raghu was the perfect meal for a chilly fall evening. It was hearty and savory and the portion was enough to be comfortably satisfied. We stopped in on a weekday for lunch and regretted it. First, the ambiance had the warmth of an East German clinic. No art, no plants and no view. It's as if the planners said "Let's put some black tables in a large, black closet and call it a bistro." Service: One of [only two] the waiters seemed to be in a footrace. No time for pleasantries or chit chat. Yes, they were fairly busy but it was exhausting watching him buzz around doing service stuff on the fly. Food: Bland as unsalted white bread. It looked good, but was utterly tasteless. The one bright spot was the potato salad, it was very tasty but could have been out of a bucket from the Schnuck's deli. The final straw was the bill: Although the menu says the sandwiches come with a side of fries or potato salad, I was charged $6 for my potato salad side. Since Speedball wasn't around to question and had long ago snatched up the menus, I didn't question it at the time. And since the Schnuck's potato salad was the best part of the meal, I let it go. Add $12 for a cup of the dishwater soup, it turned out to be a rather expensive no-booze lunch lesson in where to never go again. read more

The burger was good, for HH, you don't get fries (must be ordered separate) but burger was delicious and for my sides I ordered side of brussels sprouts which was amazing. still pretty good service, cocktail of the day was ok. Very fine dining - wonderful service, fantastic food, good friends - - - As we planned a dinner out with another couple, the wives, our better halves, sought new restaurants. My wife found Timothy's via internet search... and what a great find! Timothy's is located on Olive, just west of 279; on the south side, across from the former Creve Coeur Camera location, in the Schnucks parking lot. From the outside it looks like most any other restaurant in a strip mall; from the inside you find a restaurant that is very nice and welcoming, and... upscale; inside is a place of fine dining. The interior is lit well enough to see, but not bright; neither dark - just right. Nice artwork adorns the walls, including the large painted face that provides you a welcoming look from the other room. As we socialized, the ladies each enjoyed their cocktails; while our friend enjoyed a beer in a glass. Timothy's provides very good bread, accompanied by whipped butter... so good you'll to ask for a couple more slices to make sure you scoop all of the butter from the bowl. For dinner, my wonderful wife and I shared two plates - a ribeye and the miso grouper... both were fantastic. Our friends were thrilled with their food, too. Victoria was a gracious host who gave us just the right of attention when we arrived and socialized, adjusting to provide more attention as needed through the evening. Thank you, Victoria.
