    Don't Cry Roll

We have been coming here for years. Appreciate how despite their growth/success their prices remain reasonable. Their specials are definitely a highlight. We had never had the don't cry roll until recently. Such a highlight of the menu. The spicy sauce is delicious and is balanced very well by the tomato and avocado. One of the few places in town with Ono which is another highlight. Sometimes the service can be a little hit or miss but overall is solid. A go to for us time and time again!

I stopped by at Yen Sushi and this place never disappoints! Everything is always so yummy. I love the vibes in here. I also love you can see the sushi bar when you walk in and you can sit by it and watch them get to work on the sushi making! It's pretty cool. The service is always good when I stop by. My friend got the fried shrimp appetizer and she loved it! We both also got the chicken teriyaki bowl with rice and omg soooo good! Their teriyaki sauce is so heavenly! I always ask for extra cause it's that darn good!! My son got the beef teriyaki bowl and wow his looked and tasted amazing! Definitely gonna get that next time! He loved it and finished his whole plate! He keeps talking about it haha. Definitely will be returning. Highly recommend to check this place out if you have not already.

Always consistent sushi here. Very chill vibe and friendly staff. Still coming here after 5 years, and for the price you can't find a better place.

We decided on this place for our monthly girl dinner. Got there at 6 pm. We got sat right away. Drink order right away. We took a few to look at the menu. It was a bit hectic because it did not seem there was one waitress more like everyone helped everyone. We put our order in and that took about 40 minutes to get the sushi. Which was a bit long. But the food was very good. I got the yellow tail sashimi , the baked scallop roll and the yellow tail scallion roll. All so very good. The ambiance was a bit loud and hectic but again the food was good.

Ok this place!!! Our new go to spot after going to kabuki for years! Great service, Great fresh sushi, great happy hour!! Just all around 5 stars. Glad we found a new sushi home and we visit often! They have a sushi bar and regular seating, not a huge place but when busy it's pretty packed!

This is off their all day happy menu. I had the salmon tempura roll, the spicy tuna roll and the crispy rice spicy tuna roll.

The all day happy meal is pretty good if you just want a little bite of something and a good drink. They had large ($8.00) or small size Kirin beer & I had a Applenini cocktail (pretty strong) for $8.50. It was pretty good. They also had a lot of other choices on rolls at regular menu price. That's pretty fair and decently price. Overall, I would recommend this establishment..

A wide variety of sushi options is what drew us to this sushi restaurant. The sushi prices were very reasonable and while we carefully looked for rolls that did not include "crabmix" we made sure by asking the server to ensure that none of the 5 rolls we ordered had imitation crab and in fact one of the rolls contained imitation crab even though it was not listed on the menu. With the notation by the server we received the roll sans imitation crab and it was very fresh and tasty. All of the fish was very fresh and the rolls were prepared like works of art. Lastly, a number of items we ordered were reduced for happy hour but we were never provided with a happy hour menu so our reduced bill was a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to going back.

I came in and ordered at the bar and it was great to watch the sushi chefs hard at work. I started with the yellow tail sashimi and also got a hot night. It was nice to get the added veggie tempura for the roll. Sushi was amazing and make sure to get a kirin light to enjoy. If you are looking for good sushi come here

You wouldn't expect this place to be so big in the inside. We were recommended by this place from a friend because she knew our love for sushi. Our family owned restaurant was bought out by a sushi franchise restaurant. Anyways. Lol. Yen was very good. Although busy. They were fast and prompt. My 6 yr old son over the salmon and I got the rock and roll. The fish was fresh. Very good. We'll go back! You can tell they're used to having a lot of traffic. They're fast. Glad we tried them. Go check them out!

We arrived a little after 5pm and the restaurant was mostly empty. But in the next 20 minutes it filled up and there was open sitting at the bar only. The mood was initially quiet but quickly turned more up beat as the restaurant filled and pop rock music was playing. We asked our waiter a few questions about a few of their rolls and he was very helpful with guidance and recommendations. We ordered Salmon Lemon, Spicy Tuna, Salmon Avocado Maki and California rolls to share for two. This restaurant uses purple rice rather than traditional white rice. This was the first time we have tried a sushi roll made with purple rice and we both loved it. It added a nutty flavor and hearty texture. Purple rice is similar to wild rice and far nutritionally superior to white rice with more antioxidant and fiber. Shortly after we ordered we were served a potsticker dish. I mentioned that we did not order the item and were informed the appetizer was complementary. We thanked the server and tasted the dish. The potstickers were nicely pan fried and had a great crust and flavorful chicken filling. Delicious! About five minutes later our rolls were delivered. All were fresh tasting and delicious. Our favorite was the Salmon Lemon roll. We loved the pop the lemon added. Honorable mentions to the Spicy Tuna roll, very well done, excellent balance of heat and flavors. We truly enjoyed our dining experience and look forward to returning. Highly recommended for a quality sushi experience!

I was dining solo and had no trouble finding a seat since there's plenty of seating throughout the restaurant. That said, I was surprised by how quickly the place started filling up after opening, which is always a good sign. One of the first things I noticed was the large sushi bar and being able to watch the sushi chefs at work. There were five of them, which I took as a sure sign this place gets busy. I ordered the spider roll, salmon avocado roll, and steamed edamame. Everything was fresh, well-prepared, and exactly what I was hoping for. One unique thing about Kodo is their rice blend. They use a combination of black and white rice, which gives the sushi a distinctive purple color. It's not something you see every day, and it definitely makes their sushi stand out. I also have a food allergy, and the staff handled it carefully and without any issues. They offer fountain drinks, which I always prefer. And I liked their plastic to-go container. It kept my leftovers from getting soggy by next day. Easy five stars.

The sushi itself was decent, nothing crazy, but definitely better than grocery store quality. The tuna and salmon pieces were a little fishy, maybe not the freshest, but it was also quite late (~10pm) so I wasn't expecting too much. Beautifully presented, and the cuts were quite large which was nice! The food came out pretty fast, and the service was pleasant. The restaurant vibes are pretty dark, and moody. Crispy, flavorful, and the textures worked so well together. I would 100% order that again. The ramen, however, was just okay for me. It wasn't bad or inedible, but the broth was lacking that rich, deep flavor I look for in a good bowl of ramen. A little more depth and seasoning would really take it to the next level. Never got my water refilled, had to flag them down to put in more food, that sorta thing. The vibes- thought the bar was pretty lit and is prob pretty fun during HH. The food- overpriced for what you get and portion size while the fish and flavors being a smidge above average. I left still hungry after getting the gold omakase, bad and buri roll, and hamachi crudo. The hamachi was the best part of the meal but I'd still expect at least 5 pieces for the price. Anyways, this spot will hit the spot if you have a sushi craving. I can't vouch for the drinks but I assume it more than checks the box in that regard judging by the menu, selection, and vibe. For dessert we didn't have a choice and it was just the miso caramel cheesecake. Now that is some of the best cheesecake I've had in an incredibly long time. I don't taste the miso flavor in the caramel besides the salty sweetness of it but that combo was perfect, especially with the homemade candied pecans. I don't know if the cheesecake was left out or purposefully like that but I love how when the cheesecake was served it wasn't cold! Usually cheesecake is served really cold and kind of like a cream cheese brick you have to cut into it with your fork. But this was barely chilled so the cheesecake was not super cold and it just melts in your mouth. It's so smooth, best dish of the night hands down. This place was very nice and great location. Everything is clean and a great ambience. There's a bar you can sit at when you walk in before you go to the tables. I do think that every side smaller table should automatically have the table lamp for light because it was just too dark to see the menu from my perspective. It looks like great lighting in the pictures because the phone took it in night mode and corrected the lighting but... it's a bit dark and I saw that they do have those modern battery table lamps so I think every table against the wall should have it. Now onto why it's only 4 stars. The service was so beyond incredibly slow. I kid you not we waited 35min at least before our first dish was served and it wasn't even the appetizer, it was the entree rib pasta. You could tell just how short staffed they were and you could hear that there's only 1 sushi chef 1 regular chef and that's it for the kitchen. I don't know who is managing the shift schedule, maybe it's because we came on Memorial Day, but this type of service is not acceptable. I don't take this on the employees at all. They were so incredibly nice and apologetic and doing the best they can and even the front of house was now bussing tables to help out!!! Because they're so busy, I had to keep reminding different waiters for small things like ginger for my sushi 3x, refill on my water, and he almost said we're good to go without paying the check but we didn't even receive our cheesecake dessert yet OR paid the bill. In total it took us 2 hours from sitting down, ordering within 5min, and waiting and waiting and waiting to eat... inexcusable on management
