    Gyoza

Overall, we had a really nice meal at Yellowtail Sushi and Sake! When we came in early dinner time, the place was completely empty. That's usually a bit of a warning sign, but didn't let that stop us from sitting down. We opted for a table, but they also have some bar-style seating as well. Started off with a Sapporo on draft. It came in a chilled glass--always a nice touch! Had fast service and wait staff was kind and attentive. We split the gyoza. This was my least favorite part of the meal. It was a bit more oily than I would have liked. Then he ordered a plate of sushi, and I got the ramen. He enjoyed his sushi, but thought it was good but nothing special. I did really like my ramen and the broth was very good! They had a couple of dessert options, but we passed on them. Overall, it was a nice mix up from where we normally go! Don't know that I'd make the trip back any time soon because we are spoiled for choice living in the Valley. But if you're in the area, it's worth a try!

We just had the most amazing nigiri here, as well as Vegas Roll, tempura, and chicken katsu! Everything is fresh with a capital F, aromatic, perfectly prepared, and delicious. The place itself is small but delightfully decorated with classic Japanese art, and the staff and sushi chefs are extremely friendly and fabulously talented. I will definitely be back, and if you haven't been, then I highly recommend it!

Second time visiting this place and it hasn't disappointed either time! The first time was a little better in quality but we didn't end up getting pictures. The toro here might have been the best we've had! Melt in your mouth good and the service is always amazing

This place never disappoints! Great service and the sushi is incredible. Fresh fish roll is one of the best. The sushi chefs are friendly and inviting. Small spot, but my favorite sushi place

I tried out of their specialty sushi rolls and their egg fried rice. What I really loved about the roll was that it was actually spicy. The egg fried rice was only slightly above average, but they give you a ton of rice for just $8. Service was a bit inattentive, but the food was absolutely fantastic. My crony found their ramen average so I suggest just ordering the sushi when you are here.

Yummy sushi spot. Great deal with fast service! Not the best sushi i have had in the valley but for a quick lunch spot can't go wrong! Our waitress was nice and the restaurant was nicely decorated and clean.

My normal sushi place was closed so we ventured over here. Very unassuming entrance. Was concerning that it was completely dead at 530 pm but sat and was brought water right away. Sapporo on draft - chilled glasses were a nice touch. We got gyoza to start, with the tonkatsu ramen and red eye roll- spicy tuna/yellowtail mix. Both were very good quality and tasty. My only note is that the sushi wasn't as tightly rolled as you'd expect- the rolls kind of fell apart when you tried to pick them up. Other wise tasted great! Tonkatsu was a huge portion and tasted good. Probably won't be a staple in our rotation because of how far it is from us - but it was a good experience and the staff was very nice and attentive.

If you've been to Japan and miss the quality of sushi, you need to try this spot! It's a small restaurant with a dozen or so tables and sushi bar seating, but what really matters is the care that goes into each roll. We ordered the seared salmon nigiri and the fresh (not paste!) wasabi on top took me right back to Narita. We also tried the spicy edamame which probably had 10 cloves of garlic chopped up in it which was perfect for my taste! Really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back.

Came here on a papa Granddaughter dinner and it was everything we hoped for. Excellent food, superb service and a nice atmosphere. Both chefs came to check on us twice. New go to for sushi.

The previous restaurant at this location was Sakana, but we hadn't returned after they downsized the space. We discovered Yellowtail Sushi and Sake by accident while browsing Google and Yelp and decided to give it a try. Interestingly, the previous Yellowtail was located on 83rd Avenue. As we walked in, we were impressed by the beautiful wall paintings. The restaurant isn't very big, but the high ceilings and bright lighting create a warm and inviting atmosphere. We were seated at a table for two, which felt a bit small for the large serving plates. The staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. We ordered raw oysters, uni nigiri, uni handrolls, soft shell crabs, chirashi, omakase, and OToro sashimi. Every single dish was incredibly fresh and absolutely delicious! The prices are very reasonable, making this spot a fantastic find. We're so happy to have discovered this hidden gem and are excited to return to try their Happy Hour and lunch menu!

The Big Sumo Roll fresh tuna, salmon, avocado and some other great ingredients rolled in a soy paper was the Bomb! Fresh and tasty. Definitely will be back. The wall paper on the walls is very vibrant, the waiter was on point very friendly. The sushi chef was very customer oriented and enjoyed his job. Great atmosphere for the entire family.

well, it's official. My kid -who is super picky with a capital PICK- has just given Yellowtail Sushi 10 out of 10 stars! She loved the chirashi sushi and yellowtail kama. tender flaky fish was tasty. Great happy hour prices and the staff were super attentive, engaging and very nice! Stop in for a great meal :)

    Very impressive wall mural!
    Nelson L.

So great to see an old favorite return! And definitely worth the wait! Great first impression of an open dining room with a great wall mural that sets the tone for the delicacy that awaits... You know it will be an enjoyable meal when Sapporo is available on tap! But wait, it is served on an ice cold pint! Just perfect! Other selections are available as well as house wine and sake. We started with Spring Rolls, Shrimp Tempura, and Vegetable Tempura. Light, crispy, and delicious! The boat sushi sampler is the way to go!! Eel, sushi, rolls, sashimi, the works! Add some sashimi salad and fried rice on the side for a great compliment. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Looking forward to our next visit, which I have a feeling it will be real soon!

I opted to forego the "show" ... being seated at a community table for the chef show. But clearly this is the primary focus of this restaurant. The 5-10 smaller individual 2 and 4-tops are adjacent to the bar. The place was packed, and so noisy I couldn't even hear the other person at my table. But on the flip side, it looked and sounded like the people at the community "show" tables were having a ball. Lots of birthdays and celebrations. Anyway, great menu. Started with a couple inspired cocktails, and moved on to the fish taco's and lamb chop appetizers. Outstanding. Only nit, our server disappeared, and the app plates were left on table when our main courses showed up. We were also never serviced for another round of drinks. For our mains I ordered the Wagyu filet with asparagas and fried rice sides cooked medium. My dining guest ordered the salmon roll and a side of fried rice. My steak came out gray and rare, no sear crust at all. Very disappointing. On the flip side my dining partners portion of fried rice was astoundingly large, and good. Never did see our server again until the check was brought over. We were not even offered the dessert menu other than the small pineapple sherbet that came with my meal. Parking is brutal here. We were a party of 12 visiting on vacation, and none of us are from the area. We ordered spam musubi and a chicken skewer as appetizers. Both appetizers arrived well after our entrees had already been served and we had essentially finished eating. Each time we asked about them, we were repeatedly told, "They're coming." Mind you, these are simple appetizers that should not take anywhere near that long to prepare. When we asked for the third time, we finally asked that the appetizers be cancelled since we had already finished our meal. At that point, the gentleman working the front area , tall, with red hair, loudly yelled from across the restaurant, in an extremely rude and confrontational tone, "It's already on the grill!" There was absolutely no reason to speak to paying customers that way. His response was unprofessional, unnecessary, and honestly created a very hostile and uncomfortable feeling during what should have been an enjoyable dinner, especially while our group was on vacation and simply trying to enjoy a meal together. When the appetizers eventually came out, we left them sitting there because we were already done eating and ended up taking them to go. He eventually told us they would be removed from the bill, which we appreciated, but that did not excuse the way the situation was handled. Again, the food was good, but good food does not make up for poor service and especially not for an employee speaking to customers in an aggressive and disrespectful manner. Management should seriously address how customers are treated, because the interaction with this particular employee overshadowed what could have otherwise been a good dining experience for our party of 12.

I was not happy with where we were seated, as it was facing the wall in the small bar area. We are people watchers by nature, so it's always fun to be in a spot where we can look around the room effortlessly. However, it wasn't the end of the world and I certainly didn't want to wait any longer, the food looked wonderful & I was starving! I've never seen that before. The waitstaff were very friendly and accommodating. It took no time at all to get our orders out, which was impressive considering that the place was packed near capacity! As we left, all of the sushi pros behind the glass thanked us for coming in and wished us a great rest of our evening. I thought that was very kind. It's not very often that you find a whole line of people stopping what they are doing to wish you well on your way out of their establishment. All in all, 10/10 experience! The food and customer service were both excellent. Portions were generous, flavors were on point, and every dish we ordered was enjoyable. We started with the Heart Attack, garlic edamame, and shrimp tempura appetizers. The garlic edamame was especially memorable--I loved the addition of sesame oil, which added so much flavor and made it stand out from the typical version.
