Let me tell you about this place! We've been here a lot! If you haven't read my previous reviews!, you're missing out! I cannot add much to our fabulous date night other than to say what an incredible server we had tonight! Her name is Halle and we were blown away with her service! We were shocked when she said she's new! Her attention to detail made our night a step above what we were expecting!

All the rolls taste the same, so much sauce.

Great happy hour specials but would not recommend getting any nigiri sushi nor the sunomono (cucumber salad here. You can actually taste that the fish was previously frozen and have been defrosted. Rice was so cold and hard that the sushi did not stick to the rice and the sushi did not sit on it properly. They also score their nigiri which was super weird. As soon as they brought out the sunomono, I knew it was gonna taste funky by the color of it. Did not taste anything like a traditional sunomono and was non-edible. Rolls weren't bad, decently priced but nothing special that I would want to go back for more. Tonkotsu ramen was okay, again nothing special, bland but edible. They also do not have targashi (Japanese chili flakes) for the ramen. Food and drinks came out to about $80, tipped the super nice server $20 because she was the sweetest but I won't be back here.

My "soy-mate" decided she wanted sushi closer to our homes (N. Glendale) so we found this option with the "surprise me" link on Yelp (which I love, btw!!). We arrived in time for happy hour, (it's from 4-7pm) and so we had the seaweed salad, the gyoza, and some edamame to start. All three of these were smaller bites (unsure if they are bigger not on HH) but perfect for starters. The seaweed salad was good, could have used a little more bounce, but the flavor was great. The gyoza tasty too - smaller, and very fresh tasting, and the edamame had large salt crystals - which I'm a fan of. She ordered a teriyaki bowl, and we split 4 rolls - the Booty booty, caterpillar, the nude, and a Philly roll. They brought out ginger and wasabi without us asking which was nice, and they had both regular soy and low sodium on the table. Our server didn't offer anything else (although did ask if we needed anything a few times throughout our meal) and so felt the service was OK. Not spectacular- but not bad. My water was re-filled twice (I drink a lot of water when I have sushi) so it was fine, but she was quiet soft spoken and not very lively. The place was cute! It was pretty open and not busy for HH and into the evening (we sat and caught up for a while!). Pretty quiet and not a lot of bothering us. It wasn't until we were leaving that we saw this super cute photo wall and we had to snap the pic before leaving. Another lovely woman offered to take the photo of us, but I'm a selfie gal so sharing my fave. They had some great roll packages that if she wasn't getting a bowl, we'd have considered, seems great for splitting. Also had some noodles, udon, a great variety overall - so I'll be back to try some of these! All in all, tasty and will return, especially given it being so close to us and want to try some of their noodles too... plus more of their specialty rolls - first time I've had one with hot Cheeto crumbles on top!

Can't wait to come back. Service was great. Lots of good recommendations and a sweet smile on our waitress. The happy hour sushi was regular portion. Not tiny like other restaurants. We order the basics for HH. Cucumber salad, avocado roll, CA roll and some gyoza. All was delicious. Ordered the new item on the sushi menu. A roll called Ole Smokey. The flavors were complicated and fabulous! Love that we found a great spot so close to home.

Took my mother in law here tonight for some Sushi and possible ramen based on prior reviews. The place is cute and has a good menu! I'm pretty neutral to trying new things which this menu did not disappoint. Service was prompt and Attentive. We ordered the Philly sushi roll to begin then split the hataka ramen and the red dragon roll. YUM! Will be back - check this place out!

I have been coming to East Wind for about three years now. On our most recent trip I was encourage to do a review! Three years in the making! I absolutely love this place, it's neighborhood place meets high quality food and staff. It's my go to sushi place now and really any time I've been to other ones I found myself wishing I had just gone here. You even get a little complimentary ice cream after your meal! My go to favorites are the Lion King roll and the orange blossom. So good, flavorful, and fresh! The lion king has smoked salmon on top and it's just perfection. They also serve other dishes like yakisoba and that is also very good. Their gyoza is great. Just everything's great. In all my three years of being here I have never left disappointed, and that alone is worth 5 stars!

Obsessed with Eastwind sushi! I love the naked roll! Everything is very reasonable in price and the food tastes amazing!

Update- More effort put into excuses on Yelp for not providing even a tiny modicum of customer service. Also, sad to say, lies. I was literally just stared out by non motivated employees including the owner when I entered. No greeting, no acknowledgment until I really made the effort to get one. Not to worry, I will never again interrupt your clock watching (and misinterpretation. ) According to other reviews the sushi sounds pretty suspect so honestly glad I didn't risk getting sick. Laziness and sushi prep are a bad combination, attitude and lack of care are very apparent. Again, gross. Better off getting at the grocery store! Original- Classic Arizona trash attitude. Sign says open until 9. I walk in just past 8. 3 employees just stand and stare. I try to be friendly bc I wanted to support business. 40 minutes to close and they can't be bothered to seat. Lazy. Change your sign and don't whine when your business doesn't do well. Gross.

I tried out their fire pork bulgogi, cucumber salad, and Angry tuna roll. Overall, it was a lot of money for little food: it cost $41.25 after tax and tip. The food itself was pretty good except for the cucumber salad. The service was amiable enough and the place was quiet and clean.

This was our first time trying Eastwind and it was great. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. We ordered a lot! Gyoza and tempura shrimp to start- both yummy. Then we ordered a California roll, Lion King Roll, Sedona Roll, baked Scallop Roll and two piece of salmon Row. All were very good! I wouldn't order the salmon roe again... way too salty. But everything else was fantastic- will absolutely return!

The food is great, the service is awesome! The ambiance is posh. We love this place and try to stop by every Saturday since we discovered Eastwind.

Staff was friendly and the food was good. Really enjoyed the music they were playing.

We went with the gold dragon, munchy, sadona, and red rock. All 4 of our rolls were fabulous. I would recommend every single one of them but I think my favorite was the red rock. One of my friends left saying this maybe his favorite sushi place in Glendale, and I would agree they are absolutely a contender. The service was wonderful m. Such a big fan of this place, and will be back.

Tried a bunch of things all of them delicious. Happy hour rolls are a little smaller than the ones at regular price but still a good amount for the price. This place filled us up and was so good. My wife got a bowl with eel and that eel was cooked to perfection. Would have loved more eel sauce but could always ask for more next time. While it was much busier than last time our food came out very fast. Service was great, food was great, and did I mention they have fresh wasabi?

The sashimi appetizer was probably the best part, fresh, nice thick cuts, and it even came with fresh wasabi, which was a nice touch. The chicken katsu was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and came with a good amount of salad. The ramen, though, was kind of disappointing, $9 for basically instant noodles and half an egg. The shrimp fried rice was solid, not greasy and a good portion. The spider roll had way too much batter, so you could barely taste the crab. The tuna bomb was small, just a bite-sized tuna-avocado roll, but the tuna pieces were pretty generous. The chicken karaage had good flavor but the batter was a bit thick, and the asparagus roll was just okay. Overall, it was a mix of hits and misses. The sashimi and fried rice were definitely the stars, especially with that fresh wasabi. Give it a little improvement here and there, and this place could really turn out great under the new ownership.

We started with the Ahi Tuna Crispy Rice, which was perfectly crispy with fresh, flavorful tuna on top. We also ordered the Hamachi Sashimi, which melted in your mouth and tasted incredibly fresh. For sushi, we had the Sake Roll and added the seared miso butter, which took the salmon to another level and was one of our favorite bites of the meal. The highlight of the night was when Chef David surprised us with one of his specials: seared yellowtail. It was absolutely incredible--lightly seared, buttery, and packed with flavor. If it's available, don't hesitate to order it! For our signature roll, we tried the Harumi Roll. It was good, but after seeing and tasting more of the menu, we both agreed we would probably order the Yellowtail Trio instead next time. To pair with dinner, we had the Montepulciano, and it was an excellent choice. Smooth, flavorful, and a perfect complement to the sushi. Harumi continues to be one of those places where the quality is consistently outstanding. Between the fresh fish, creative dishes, and attentive chefs, it's hard to make a bad choice here. So once we finally decided on our choices everything came out fairly quickly even with there being a half full restaurant. We started with some pork gyozas which is one of my husband's favorites & he was happily pleased... they were very fresh. We also had some of the tempura shrimp & onion which were both perfectly cooked without being greasy. As for the sushi we went with the shrimp tempura roll which was some of the best, the rice was cooked perfect plus everything was balanced just right.
