Stopped by Yen's Kitchen after spotting it in the same plaza as the International Market and was very pleased! A little restaurant that opened 4 months ago, Yen's Kitchen is run by a Saigon-born gentleman, his sister, and his mother, with mom in the kitchen cooking away and preparing food. One of their staff members took the time to bring us out a menu when they saw us checking out the menu on the door and the owner came out and said he could take our order outside using an iPad and bring it out to us if we chose to dine outside. Unfortunately, we already had other plans for dinner but got a holiday drink and a corn milk instead. The owner, being very honest, told us the corn milk was not as fresh as he'd like to serve after we'd paid and he went to serve us and asked if we wanted any other drink on the menu. We ended up getting last months specialty drink, a passion fruit citrus drink that really hit the spot. The holiday drink was delicious with fresh berries- a raspberry and mulberry holiday concoction. While I agree with some of the other reviews that their drinks can be a little pricy at $5-6 apiece, I think the prices are fair when you compare to a Starbucks refresher or a boba tea from anywhere else. The drinks are clearly well thought out, planned and executed by this family with love and care. Taking the time to develop monthly drinks as a small business owner is no small feat and they can compete with the best of em. Well worth it and we'll certainly be back to try some Pho and Banh Mi ASAP! read more

Very delicious and fresh. The staff are super friendly and the restaurant is very clean. They have a really refreshing aesthetic inside and it is worth going in for sure. The food is very authentic and the menu is informative and helpful for making choices even if you have never had Vietnamese food before! I love the noodle dishes and of course Pho it's absolutely delicious! The Thai green style tea is delicious and I am looking forward to trying so much more from here! They have a lot to choose from and the prices are moderate for what you get. Ordering is easy and they have delivery and take out available. There is outside seating, no view, but it does exist. Not the best first impression. Was very excited to check out this new place. Came here with my son around 2 on a Sunday for lunch. There were tables scattered inside and outside, but apparently not enough for a sitdown experience for all customers. We ordered at the counter, 2 Bánh mì specials and a rice noodle with pork, paid and grabbed the last table available in the corner. A few minutes later, we were asked to move to a smaller table to accommodate a larger group. Ok. While we sat waiting for our small order, I glance over to the table we left and see people enjoying their noodle soups. They arrived after us. Ok. So, I went to the counter to ask about our order. I was then told my noodles with pork was a "grab and go" box sitting on a shelf next to us. How was I supposed to know that? No one directed me after I paid that I should find it on a shelf. Our Bánh mì's were packed to go. I didn't know I ordered take out when I grabbed a seat. The sandwiches were good, but those buns roughed up the roof of my mouth for days. Apologies were dished out, however, perhaps "the process" should've been explained, especially when you are new to the neighborhood. I felt like if you spoke Vietnamese, you were better taken care of. Unfortunately, I don't need to return when there are other options much closer to me . Yes, we've been to all types of Vietnamese restaurants. One memorable one was in Tampa with a similar concept, much bigger, more coices and better prices. I'm sure this place will do well, as there is a hunger for more Asian eateries up here. But, for me, I like a full menu, my rice noodles in a bowl and a more comfy atmosphere. read more

If you're looking for good drinks (boba, coffee) and food, this is the best place to go. This place is about 40 mins from me but I try to make the drive every Friday for their beef stew soup. The workers here are nice and makes you feel welcome. My first time coming here the workers took their time explaining the specialties of their meal and even make it customizable to my taste. I especially love the ambiance of the place. They have specials every week but my favorite by far is the beef stew which are only on fridays I believe. Was so excited to hear of a new Vietnamese restaurant opening in the area! One of my neighbors had a conversation with me one day after a terrible experience I had in Boynton to get Pho and said Yen's Kitchen will be open soon and I should try it out. So glad that I did today. I called to order takeout and had a smooth process to order, no confusion. Once getting inside it was easy to get to the counter where Mon was, a pleasant and knowledgeable staff member. He explained that the Pho Broth is cooked for 18 hrs with the meat and bone and marrow, once the broth is finished cooking at 18 hrs they throw out all the additions and give you fresh ingredients for your meal. The broth is delicious and heart warming exactly what you want for a delicious Pho. The veggies are fresh, crisp and quite bountiful. I will make sure to ask next time if they have a house hot sauce or a hot oil. Even my husband was surprised by how delicious everything was! I'm looking forward to trying everything on their menu. TLDR good food, but expensive prices for the portion you get. I recently tried this place after seeing an article on the Palm Beach Post on one of my friend's social media and someone at work told me that they had really good food after I mentioned it to them. A few things came to mind after visiting for lunch. First, I found the location to be great as it's in the Lake Worth area and has an Asian market in the same plaza so it helps draw in business. The atmosphere and decoration as well were pretty creative and reminded me of the little cafes I would see in Saigon. I also found that having food specials on certain days was a neat touch to keep the menu fresh. The food was great and I enjoyed it. Since it was our first time, I wasn't sure what to get so I went with what I usually order at the Viet places we normally go to. I was going to order pho (ya know, the rice noodle dish one usually gets at any Viet place when trying for the first time ) but decided on another dish after my gf wanted to try the pho instead. I ordered a vermicelli dish with grilled pork so we can try more of the menu. Additionally, my gf ordered an iced Viet coffee and I ordered chanh (lime soda). Our cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable as he helped us with our order. As we sat down and waited for our food, I noticed that there were some pre-made dishes in containers set on the counter that you can easily grab to go for lunch. However, I thought if you wanted to dine in, it would probably be made to order instead. I was mistaken and my order was one of those that were already pre-made . Not knowing it was pre-made, I figured the grilled pork would at least be warm but nah. The pho came a few minutes later in a nice platter. I LOL'd on the inside as I thought, "Hers looks great and I thought mine would be made on a plate as well." The pho was good and I liked that they added a little pepper on the sliced beef , something I noticed as we usually order it to be placed on the side cause I find it to cook fast when it's on top of the soup. Lastly, our shrimp and pork banh xeo finally came out and it actually reminded me of the crepes my grandma used to make and also the ones I tried in Saigon. We finished our meal and the cashier came and handed us the receipt at the end. I looked at the check and bam! our check ended up being $50+ including the tip. Overall, I thought the food was good but not worth the price I was going to be paying for. In comparison to other Viet restaurants in the area, I can get the same food with the same quality but with larger portions for the same price. I forgot to mention the drinks which were almost five dollars each were full of ice and not topped off. Some final thoughts, I really want this place to do well but when I know I can get the full dine in or takeout experience from our regular places for the same price and quality but more portion, why wouldn't I just order from there? I mean, this place has the potential to really kick the competition in being a fast casual Viet place with the "street food" quality but as of right now it's just too expensive. read more

I am absolutely obsessed with Yen's Kitchen. The staff and owners are so kind and welcoming. If you are new to Vietnamese cuisine, they are always super helpful in explaining their menu! A delightful experience at Yen's today! I called in a take out order (from the parking lot, but they don't need to know that :)) and got the shredded chicken banh mi and the taro sticky rice. Unfortunately, Mom didn't make the taro sticky rice today (sad :() but there was a great substitute, the TSC Roots which is part taro milk and part pudding chunks. I can't describe it but it was SUPER tasty! A note on the shredded chicken, it's the white meat so if you're into the mixed or dark you should be warned. That said, I prefer the white meat so this was a very pleasant surprise! The bread was perfect, and the sandwich wasn't too big so it left room for the yummy TPS Roots dessert. Definitely going back for a tofu banh mi - informed this is on the "secret" menu - and the crepes. I'd even go just to have a seat, a nice iced coffee and read out front. Food tends to be good all the time that I have eaten there and their takeout. I ordered a dish yesterday and I personally requested to the young lady waitress not to include an item that comes in the dish the "pork rind." I've tried pork rind but do not like it at all and the taste when you mix it with something else it overpowers it. To my surprise my request wasn't honored and it came out with it. I ended taking it out of my dish even though the waitress wrote it on the order slip. This message is to waitress and chef please be understanding when someone request not to include an item on the dish. Nice place, plenty of parking since it's in a strip center. Service was very good. I don't like pho, so I ordered "Shaking Beef". They apparently don't know what that is, since it was just cubes of seasoned beef with little flavor for $22. I decided to try it again a few days later and got the "Special Bahn Mi sandwich. It was ok at best (about $6) but it was loaded with greens. I felt like it was more like a vegetarian dish. So, needless to say, I'm not a fan. read more
