My hair was very long and hadn't been cut or dyed in several years, and I didn't walk into the salon with a solid vision of what I wanted. I came in my appointment, showed my inspo pics to revive my weighed down curls with more layers, and talk about whether or not to do bangs or longer layers around my face. Got a haircut here about six weeks ago and had a very pleasant experience!  Denisse (owner) was warm, welcoming, and clearly puts a lot of care into both her clients and the salon. Her brother was very nice and friendly too, greeted and offered me water right away. The space is beautiful. Super chic and inviting. Walked in on a Sat evening with no appointment. Only about 15-20mins wait. What I appreciated most was how much Denisse listened. She asked a few questions about what I had in mind, suggested ideas, checked in before cutting off length, and really made sure she understood and gave me what I wanted. And she did! Got exactly as I hoped.  The service included a wash and simple blowdry, and the total came to about $100 with the promotion they had going on.  Also, if you're looking for a stylish space for a small community event (like sip and paint or things like that), or you're a hairstylist looking for a chair to rent, I think they offer those too! I had such a great experience with Yeya today. She took the time to really listen to what I wanted for my curls and gave me one of the best curly cuts I've had in a long time. She cut my hair dry, shaped it beautifully, removed weight without losing movement, and somehow managed to bring my curl pattern back to life. I was looking for a curly stylist certified in Rezo cut after getting a Deva cut (which I have had for years) a few weeks ago and not liking it much since I asked for more volume but didn't get it. I knew she was the right curly stylist for me when she responded to my text within a reasonable time and asked me to send her a pic of my hair so that she knew what she would be working with. I was so lucky to get an appointment with her the next day. There was parking in front of the salon. Denisse was so kind to offer me something to drink, and as I sat in her chair, she listened carefully to what I wanted, examined my curl pattern, asked me questions, and told me what she could do and what she couldn't do. I felt so at ease and in good hands the entire time. Chatting with her was the cherry on top! She also showed me exactly what to do so that I could replicate the curly styling process at home. After my hair was shampooed, conditioned, saturated with water, scrunched, shook, and diffused to perfection, I looked into the mirror and was so pleasantly surprised how my curls came to life and were so defined! The shape and the volume were exactly what I was looking for, and Denisse made it all happen! I actually started to cry because she heard me, took the time with my hair, and gave me the curly cut and volume that I wanted! She also showed me the curly cream she used to shape my hair and wasn't trying to convince me to buy any salon products. She just told me that when my curl cream runs out or if I was interested in the cream she used for my hair, I could get it from her. That's so nice! No pressure, but I know it's available if and when I decide to buy from her. Denisse has an airy and modern salon--loved the vibes. The hair washing stations have massage chairs which was such a treat during my deep condition treatment. Denisse was patient, efficient and ensured she was cutting just the right amount. She did the first big cut dry which most stylists don't do despite me requesting it. I've got so many different textures and hair patterns going on it was nice to have someone who knows how to cut and style multiple hair types. She diffused it and styled it naturally which is what I normally do so we could see how it looked at the end. So much body and movement. It looks like a whole new head of hair. Her prices are also very fair especially for Piedmont Ave which has several higher priced salons. Plus, Yeya is right next to a coffee shop and two nail salons--excellent for a full day of pampering. It was my first time at the salon for babylights hair color service. I did a photo and video shoot for the process out of kindness and endured uncomfortable moments during my appointment. I am very upset that my trust and goodwill were abused in return. After discussing the hair color service with the stylist, her brother started recording me for social media without asking my permission first. They didn't explicitly ask before recording. I chose not to dwell on it because their salon had just opened a few months ago and I wanted to be helpful--I let them record while specifically requesting that my face not be visible in any recordings, only my hair. I repeated this request multiple times. Because there was no clear notice, I had to stay alert for hours during the hair coloring process to predict whether I was being filmed. Each time, I either asked or assumed I was being recorded and covered my face when I saw the phone pointed toward me through the mirror or when he approached me. He told me not to worry, saying he zooms in on my hair and angles it so my face is never captured. I even spent 15-20 minutes at the end of the appointment to provide them good result photos of my hair--standing in different places in the salon facing away from the camera. I asked if I was being recorded during the hair wash, too. They said I wasn't, so I didn't cover my face, closed my eyes, and tried to relax. However, he recorded me during the hair wash, with my face visible, and posted a video on Instagram showing my face without my consent. As soon as I saw this, I called and asked them to remove the video and delete any videos or images they have of me. It seems like they removed the video from Instagram upon my request. Privacy statement: I do not consent to the salon--or anyone acting on its behalf--storing, taking, or using any photos, videos, audio recordings, or my likeness. Please permanently delete any such material that you have or control (including drafts/backups) and confirm. I was looking for a hairstylist nearby on short notice to get a fresh new haircut and balayage. Denisse was so attentive, thoughtful, and great with my hair. She was super communicative before the appointment, and I sent her pics of my current hair and what I wanted. She was even kind enough to meet me earlier in the day and work around my schedule. When we met, she asked me at each step what length I wanted, if the color was fine, if I wanted bangs, etc. before she worked on an area, She also walked me through the process for the day and offered me water, coffee, tea.
