    Horchata Latte $6.50
    Erik G.

Yia Caffe is an absolute gem located in Boyle Heights. You order and pay at the front window, then pick up your coffee at a separate window to the left. There is a cute little courtyard filled with picnic tables that's perfect for communal seating. Between the colorful murals and the abundance of plants and trees, you feel like you've been transported to a hidden oasis. It's a very relaxing spot to get some work done or study for a final. Plus, they're dog-friendly, with treats and water readily available. I originally planned on ordering the Mazapán latte since I love anything nut-related, but upon arriving, the Horchata Latte ($6.50) was recommended to me. It had a lovely creamy texture, and the cinnamon stick inside provided a fantastic boost of flavor. While it's definitely on the sweet side, it was the perfect pick-me-up. The staff were friendly and kind, even though they stay tucked away inside. I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu!

This little spot in the corner is a wonderful place to stop by and grab a cup of coffee. My sister got me the Oaxaca Mocha and I got the Spanish Latte with Oat milk. Pretty tasty! There is a little patio with ample greenery and trees to relax under some shades and beat the heat during summer. The staff are helpful and welcoming, plus it's always great when they're service is quick. There is street parking around, but may be a bit limited. Stop by and support your local coffee shop.

Yia Caffe is super cute and feels like they have always been a part of the eastside. The staff are friendly and the patio is so comforting. I loved their strawberry matcha and their tamales de mole hit the spot. I'm not a huge coffee person but I still feel compelled to come back here and try the rest of their drinks :-)

Just what I needed. Best drink I've tried with matcha bonus for the horchata, amazing service and beautiful seating area!

Free doggy treats-Ollie did not care for it.

This establishment is on a corner, almost missed drove right past it, it was a little challenging finding street parking. I did visit on a weekend which didn't help the parking situation. You Walk up and order to go or eat there in the cute outside eating area. Oaxacan tamales de pollo con mole are only served on the weekends. I was curious to compare with the Oaxacan Tamales that I had a few weeks ago in Oaxaca. I was impressed, a pretty good balance of sweet and spicy and rich and smoky. 8 out of 10. It was a little bit on the smaller side than the ones in Oaxaca, but that's to be expected. I also ordered a Oaxaca coffee, the coffee was good but It will need its own review for next time.

Érase una vez... after visiting Oaxaca, I returned home and found a gem right here in East LA: Yia Caffé. From the moment you arrive, it invites you to be present. So much care and intention woven into this place. On weekends you can feel the energy of people moving through from opening to closing. Today I needed a little more sweetness in my life, so I ordered the iced Mazapán oat milk latte with peanut butter foam -- magic -- alongside the Tamales de Mole, a weekend-only special. The sweet balanced the savory perfectly. Pansa llena, corazón contento. The flavor profile caters to a range of palates. My partner went for the Oaxacan Mocha oat milk latte -- also highly recommend the Cacao de Mi Corazón smoothie and the Spanish Latte. Know that every drink is made to order, crafted with intention. This isn't fast food. Give yourself the time to enjoy it. Open 7am-5pm daily, they're not stretching themselves thin for the masses, they're building a solid foundation. And it shows. The consistency keeps me coming back. For days when you can't escape the grind, DoorDash pre-order is a must. For days when you want an actual escape... tucked on a busy corner amid freeways, trains, and the hum of East LA, this place carves out a sanctuary. Lush greenery, a pace that slows you down, street parking in the neighborhood, and the satisfaction of supporting a local small business that opens its doors to the community. Oh, and they keep dog treats at the counter. I snagged one for my fur baby-- a small reminder of how beautifully they treat dogs in Oaxaca. Yia Caffé -- a treat, every single time.

Best thing about this place is the location/setup! It's super easy to stop by when you're walking your dog, or on the move in general. Ordering & pickup are outside at the windows, and there's outdoor seating as well. The drinks were good, but there was a bit of a wait. I assume its because they only had one barista working at the time, but I didn't mind. Through the window, I could see the barista measuring out the syrups on a scale, and doing their due diligence of putting (looked homemade!) cold foams back into the fridge after every drink. If you like coffee shops that dedicate extra time & care into their drinks, this is definitely a spot to visit.

    Iced horchata latte

Came across this spot on Yelp while working in a different neighborhood and in desperate need of caffeine. Now they have no parking lot and the streets they are on are not necessarily street parking friendly. However I was able to get a spot for a quick to go order. I went with their iced horchata latte. Prices are ok. The coffee was robust on espresso flavor and the horchata flavor profile took a back seat. Still good though! They have a patio you can sit at as well.

Beautiful patio area with natural touches.

Tried it for the first time and the Oaxaca Mocha is q 10 out of 10. The staff was polite and answered a few of my questions great service. The ambiance is unique. The vine umbrellas the entire patio if you're a nature lover you will love it.

This place is right on the corner of 3rd and Indiana st. Yia Caffe is a Oaxacan owned coffee shop in East LA. I came to try the Oaxacan mocha and why not try a tamale while I'm here. They only have them on the weekend too. I must say it's a must try the mole is sweet but the spicy overwhelms the sweetness. Great flavor. The masa was nice and firm. A must try when you visit Yia Caffe. I'm not a coffee connoisseur but I tried the oaxacan mocha which was good. Little bitter for those of you who like your coffee sweet. Dog friendly patio. There are even treats for dogs on the pick up counter. Not too bad of a wait after we ordered just took in the ambiance of the patio with plenty of seating to enjoy your coffee. Parking is street only no parking lot. Come early enough you can find parking in the neighborhood. I parked by the lawnmower shop. Enjoy your coffee.

Rose butterfly matcha is really good. There's no parking lot and drinks do take awhile. I always park around the corner it's really hard to find parking so I always take the drink to go but the outdoor patio is cute.

Yia is a gem in the heart of Boyle Heights! 10/10! The Spanish latte is my go to drink and recommend a try. The ambiance is casual and makes it a great spot if you're meeting up with friends for a coffee date. The service we continuously receive from Leo and Jorge is wonderful with great customer service. They're both so willing to provide recommendations and suggestions.

Parking is pretty difficult, and valet is $5. I can easily see the parking lot getting gridlocked on a busy day. I sampled a few of their gelato flavors, including the jasmine lychee and soy sauce. Both were okay, but I just wasn't in the mood for either of them today. I ended up getting the Pandan Toast to try. The pandan flavor was really good--not too grassy and didn't taste too artificial. The ice cream also had a buttery taste to it. It might have been from the toast, but I'm not too sure. The bread itself wasn't oily, which was nice, but it was kind of dry. The pandan sauce definitely helped make it easier to eat. I probably wouldn't eat the bread by itself though because it was super hard and didn't really have much flavor. I wasn't sure what to expect from the toast, but it wasn't quite what I expected. I originally wanted to try the mango sticky rice flavored shaved ice because it looked really good in the photos, but unfortunately they didn't have it today. I'd come back to try their shaved ice when mango is in season again!

There's a bingsoo place we LOVED in Dallas called "Wicked Snow" and this is the closest we've had to Wicked Snow. I enjoyed the texture of Anko's bingsoo more than other places I've tried. We got 3 flavors: strawberry mascarpone, mango & hojicha. I usually love anything mango flavored but surprisingly I enjoyed the strawberry one the most! - it tasted very natural/not artificial. I could have eaten the whole thing myself. I still enjoyed the mango as well but this one actually tasted a big more artificial, but the fresh mango was perfectly ripe & added a good amount of sweetness.
