First time trying this place and I wanted to try to find a new spot. This place wasn't bad but not my favorite. They packed their sushi which made the rolls huge. I ordered: Appetizer: A9: Spring Rolls Main: R15. Eel Cucumber Roll- this was good. Wished there were more eel sauce bc it was a little dry R30. Spicy Tuna Roll- could've been a little more spicy S21. Playboy Maki- no feedback here. Was good. S28. Tropical Monsoon - this wasn't my favorite. The mango and sushi didn't blend well with each other. S30. TNT Maki- no feedback here. Was good S29. Tiffany Maki- no feedback here. Was delish Free California Roll for spending over a certain amount I wouldn't mind ordering from them again and trying what else they have. Thanks Yiku :)

I want to start off by saying the service here was amazing! The lady that served us was super friendly and kind. The sushi was some of the best I've had in the area! Definitely try if you are in the area! Everything tasted amazing!

One of my go to places for sushi in the Moco area! The sushi is always fresh and for the price, I'd say it's a pretty good deal! Also if you order over a certain $$ they will add on a freebie appetizer :)

I placed my order for to go. This place is such a wonderful, local spot. This is my go to spot for sushi every time I visit the area. The sushi is so fresh and well made. The texture is amazing. The store staff are super friendly too.

I've only ordered takeout/delivery with Yiku so far. My usual sushi spots tend to be on the pricier side. So it's nice to have an option where you can get good sushi and more bang for your buck! The rolls here are on the larger side. And the sashimi is THICK. They have great lunch sushi and sashimi specials. I like that their spicy rolls don't have the crunch inside (as a filler). The spicy rolls are mostly fish and light sauce. If you add crunch, it gets sprinkled on top! The avocado and sashimi are always fresh! Prices are super reasonable. Service is quick and very good.

Shrimp tempura appetizers.

Excellent service and food. Appetizers: Large soft shell crab and shrimp tempura were spot on! Unagi don was also a good sized portion and tasty. Will return!

So good ! I'm really happy to find a local spot that has a great lunch special . It was fresh and timely. When I came in it's like they knew already it was for me !

Generous portions, competitive prices, ice cold sashimi, and tastes super fresh. Best part is the free stuff the owners throw in often. If you're feeling like sashimi, give this place a try!

***POISONOUS WHITE TUNA WILL CAUSE EXPLOSIVE OIL DIARRHEA***
Stephanie S.

***DO NOT ORDER WHITE TUNA*** My fiancé ordered the D7 White Tuna Set Entree. He said he was feeling off all morning. He stood up and oily diarrhea exploded so violently through the back of his shorts that it ended up staining our living room carpet. He had to use dish soap to clean his explosive oil diarrhea from his body and our carpet. I looked up what he ordered and this "white fish" is actually Escolar which is illegal in Japan and Italy for being so poisonous. This fish has undigestible wax esters that causes explosive oil diarrhea. It would have been nice if the restaurant provided a warning about the toxicity of the fish before all the oil stains on our carpet. I hope we can still get our deposit back on the apartment. Needless to say we will not be ordering from here again!

It was okay. I've had better at Love Sushi. It didn't taste as fresh as the reviews made it seem and it was pricey.

Pains me to revise my previous rating for Gyuzo, but had a horrible experience today…read more We opted for the premium AYCE and were excited to try everything. We ordered some app, sushi, and a ton of meats. The sushi was so/so the ikura was a bit fishy/not the freshest, but I gave it a pass since it was included in the AYCE. The fried lotus was surprisingly my favorite non meat dish. Our friend rice was served lukewarm (the consistency of rice was a bit uneven like older rice that was left out for a bit) and way too oily so we had to send it back. Had no issues with the meat and service - although it was a tad slow and the 10 minute cooldown between ordering was unexpected. Our server was great and kept checking in with us. A few items we ordered never made it out to us, but at that point we were too full to care. My main complaint was with one of the hosts. We finished our meal and thanked our waiter and made our way back to the parking garage. From behind, we heard a very loud "EXCUSE ME." We originally thought we had dropped something and someone was looking out for us, but was appalled when she followed us halfway across the street and said "you think you're just going to leave without paying for your mocktail?" That was hands down the rudest I've been treated by a customer service based establishment. I've worked in hospitality and know you should never accuse a customer of anything. To make matters worse, she got the wrong people - we never ordered a mocktail. Will likely not return to Gyuzo for a while and stick to other bbq places with better service.

It was really popular that evening, so the three of got squished at the table meant for two, but we didn't mind. The menu is pretty extensive, offering ramen, udon, tonkatsu, rice bowls, grilled fish sets, and more. We ordered pretty quickly, but with how busy it was, it took a bit for the food to come out CHILEAN SEA BASS - 37 As I scanned through, my eyes immediately fell on the miso sea bass. Despite the price point, I knew I had to go for it because sea bass is hard to find around here. This set came with rice, house salad, miso soup, and cold tofu. The sides were pretty standard -- no compliments, but no complaints either. On the other hand, the sea bass was wonderful. Super creamy and soft, with a strong miso sweetness that packed so much umami upon each bite. I would definitely splurge on this set just for the sea bass. My friend got the ramen and didn't love it, so I'll probably avoid that during future visits. The katsu curry that the table next to us ordered looked and smelled amazing. Overall, food was delicious and homey. I'd definitely recommend!

Cutest hole in the wall!!…read more Authentic Japanese food on Rockville Pike. Never knew what I was missing... their sushi seriously tastes like it was made with love. Absolutely floored by the fatty tuna sushi roll. It is on the pricier side, but honestly, I don't think I even minded. We got the katsu and sashimi combo plus some rolls on the side. The katsu was delicious, and the sashimi was super fresh. The combo also came with the cutest little side dishes, really adorable presentation overall. The staff was also incredibly attentive about my friend's allergies (dairy and nuts). They kept checking in with us and even showed us the sauce ingredients to make sure everything was safe. One of the staff members called my friend "kawaii" after hearing her long list of allergies lol, and honestly, that made my day.

This was honestly one of the most disorganized restaurant experiences I've had in a long time…read more The service was confusing from the moment we sat down. After waiting a while, our waitress finally came over and took our order. We ordered an appetizer first while deciding on our entrees. A few minutes later, the exact same waitress returned and asked if we wanted to order any appetizers, apparently forgetting that we had already done so. I specifically asked whether the salmon in the Philly roll was fresh or smoked because I don't like smoked salmon. I was assured it was fresh. When it arrived, it was clearly smoked salmon. The bao buns were actually pretty good, although the lettuce was wilted and looked like it had been sitting around for a while. A different server eventually took our entrée order. Less than five minutes later, that same server came back and asked if we were ready to close out our check, despite the fact that we were still waiting for our food and had not received our entrees yet. When the food finally arrived, the ramen was disappointing. The noodles were undercooked and the broth was excessively salty. The katsu curry was the highlight of the meal and was genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the miso soup that accompanied it was overloaded with dashi powder and tasted overwhelmingly fishy. Which made sense with the overpowering fish market smell upon entering the restaurant. To top it all off, when we were ready to leave, the server brought the credit card receipt for signature but forgot to bring a pen. Between the repeated service mistakes, incorrect menu information, lack of attention to the table, and inconsistent food quality, I'm genuinely surprised this restaurant has managed to stay in business. There are too many good ramen spots out there to justify returning here.

When I asked why the restaurant was closed before 3:00 PM, I was told that the kitchen closes earlier. Unfortunately, there was no indication that service would end before the posted closing time. This was disappointing, as I made the trip during their advertised business hours expecting to be able to place an order.

There's a limit on nigiri/sashimi to one piece per order. What that means is that, when you put in your first (and subsequent orders), you can order one tuna, one salmon, etc nigiri/sashimi. That is a lot better than what I originally thought, which was one nigiri/sashimi total for each round. The variety in the AYCE is impressive. Lots of sushi, sashimi, nigiri, salads, soups, variety of appetizers (not all fried stuff!) and hibachi (beef, chicken and shrimp). Tonight, the food arrived pretty quickly after we put in an order. There was an issue toward the end of the evening when the app stopped working at our table and the table next to ours. The Staff did what they could to fix things; it did take about 20 minutes, though. I'm assuming this isn't typical. Staff did say that this does happen from time to time and the customer needs to exit the app and reorder. Except for the 20 minute delay, things worked fine. We placed at least 12 small orders during our meal. The staff was very good about filling water glasses, bringing our food and taking away empty plates. Really - high praise for the staff. The restaurant is very pleasant to sit in. It has Asian motif and nice music playing over the PA. The only issue was with the ordering system, which, as I said, I'm thinking was unusual. This convinced me that their food is not being kept in safe conditions. Their sushi rolls with "spicy tuna" or "spicy salmon" were chock full of tempura/panko flakes mixed with the fish, resulting in barely any actual tuna or salmon in the roll. Any rolls with tempura shrimp were soggy and lukewarm. Don't trust any videos you see online of this place because the actual rolls you get are 70% rice. This is the worst sushi experience I've ever had, mainly because it caused terrible indigestion from unsafe food handling on Kabuto's part.
