Let's start by saying that I did come midday on a day that is not a normal dining day. Business was slow. There was only one other man that was inside of the establishment as a patron. I always like to start with the better things first. Spring rolls - top-tier loved every bite duck sauce could've been better, but as far as craftsmanship and quality behind the spring rolls was impeccable. I'm always very weary about getting spring rolls because they're mushy inside or the quality of the ingredients is not great but these did not fail. *Rate 4 out of 5 only because even though the quality was great, it's a spring roll. It was not packed with cabbage as most are and there was only one shrimp in each one. Suffering bastard - the drink was really good. I've had better but due to what I know for the drink, it was prepared very well. It wasn't too sweet and a packed a pretty decent punch, but I would not suggest it to a non-drinker. *Rate 3 out of 5 just because I felt like it needed fruit or some type of something to bring it to the level it needed to be, but it was just prepared like they didn't care. Lobster sauce - ultimate Sike out, presentation looked amazing... It was full with meat and it just looked amazing. Unfortunately, the taste was off by so many levels... I had to add soy sauce just to get the lobster sauce taste that I'm used to from prestigious Asian restaurants. Even then, it lagged where it should've excelled. I was disappointed in the dish, but I also would try it again just to see if it was a one off. Very high hopes for the dish. *Rate 3 out of 5 only because the presentation was there the ingredients was there. It just needed more flavor. House fried rice - love the presentation... Love the quality behind the ingredients... Once again flavor was not there. I don't know if, the flavor I'm used to behind fried rice is flawed but once again not my first rodeo and I've loved House fried rice since the first day I had it at six. It felt like the person was afraid to use the things they needed to make the fried rice the way it was supposed to be made as far as flavors. *Rate 3 out 5 because the quality behind the ingredients and presentation was all on point. It's just for some reason it felt that the rice was lacking salt or MSG. The flavor profiles did not combine the way that they were supposed to almost as if they was added together at the very end with no time to combine before hitting the plate. Boneless spareribs - these was probably the best spareribs when it came to tender and well cooked. The sauce that it's marinated in it felt as if they didn't marinate it long enough or didn't give it another brushing before finishing the dish. Just on how tender they are and them not being burnt or overcooked as many restaurants to do so many times over and over again I would definitely try this dish again just to see if anything would change. The marinade needs to be left on longer to make sure that the sweetness behind the marinade really sticks to the pork. *Rate 3 out of 5 only because of how tender the ribs were, I couldn't believe how well it was cooked and the quality behind it. I just wish that they left the marinade on long enough to get the sweetness that I was looking for. This is something I could be very easily fixed and would excel the dish by three folds. Customer service - didn't seem to wanna help at all, but did greet me at the door as soon as I got there. Seemed more interested in what he had going on behind the counter. Seem disturbed that I wanted to dine in instead of taking the order to go. Honestly, don't know if that's really was the case, but that's just how I felt based off of the vibe he gave. The one part that did make me feel weird was the combination plates was fairly priced, but didn't have what I was looking for entirely and when I asked if I could change the rice because I don't eat soy fried rice the man made it extremely difficult to substitute House fried rice even though I was willing to pay more money just to swap out the fried rice to house fried rice. So intern I had to spend $50 on a meal that I could've probably spent no more than $20 on. Just to get the items that I wanted on the plate separately because rice couldn't be substituted. Rate 2 out of 5 - the guy who was there she'll probably not be tending to customers more so the bar and probably grabbing orders, but just FYI, not very personable or friendly to the needs or the changes of a patron. I would need another visit to the establishment to determine whether or not I would recommend this place to someone. A lot of the dishes that I had seemed promising, but just seemed like maybe it was an off day for the cook or it may be due to dietary procedures, but I can honestly say if someone who has been doing it for years of experience was to go inside of the kitchen and taste what I tasted, they would agree that it was just off a little and could easily change to be an amazing experience. read more

Really like this place, the Chinese food in the New Bedford and Fall River areas have a long and rich history and this one is one of the good ones. They have good Chinese food with nice portions that are hot and fresh, the rice is top shelf and I love the egg rolls. It's a spacious, clean and warm decor and overall a very pleasant experience. The bartender was very nice, friendly, very good at his job and you have to be here because they have a lot of fun and exotic cocktails. I had the Bird's Nest which is a crispy potato basket filled with chicken, pork and beef with mix vegetables and fried rice, very good. But the show stopper was the Pu Pu platter with 2 spring roll, 4 chicken fingers, 2 beef teriyaki, 2 fried shrimp, boneless spareribs, 2 chicken teriyaki, 4 crab rangoon, 4 chicken wings and 4 fried wonton, all really good! They have high chairs by the bar so it's child friendly but it is unfortunately not wheelchair accessible. Bottom line The staff, atmosphere and food are all soot on. Recommended! read more

No. Just absolutely no. Should have stayed closed. Now its got me wondering why they were closed for so long. Absolutely hainous food. Cooked at 11:00 or so. This is a review of the bar only, we stopped in for a drink and didn't eat there. My husband grew up in Mattapoisett so he knows the place from his youth under a different name. There was one bartender on staff for the whole restaurant and bar and she was working her tail off. The Mai Tais seed to be the popular drink so we ordered those. Really good and wow only $15 for 2 drinks. If you are craving a Mai Tai a good pit stop but you will have be patient if it's always like that on a Saturday night (one bartender). read more

Edge of my walking range. Good if you like Chinese food. I'm sorry I can't answer parking question. I only remember the TV because the girl at the bar gladly changed it to Monday Night Football. (It was pre-season in August she can't be blamed for not knowing about it.) No self-serve bar. Classy place. Too classy for just me. I give it four stars because I have to rate something and this seems to be almost the middle and three stars might scare people away- I really can't/shouldn't rate at all. I will NEVER eat at the Acushnet Ave restaurant again! My friends and I ordered a little over a month ago. We picked up the food to eat at home. We were charged for an order of crab rangoons and they were not in our order. We called they would not credit the credit card. We had 2 choices either go back and get them (20-30 min round trip or they would give us a credit for the next time. That was 1/12/21. We called to order on 2/23/21. (Due to weather and Covid we had not ordered out. ) They would not honor the credit because it was over 30 days. Basically to bad it's over a month. On top of that with our original order we ordered garlic shrimp. It was nasty so we threw it out. I am someone who believes in supporting local businesses, especially during COVID. We stopped in for lunch last Friday and were very happy with the service and the quality of the food. Combination lunch specials were excellent and substitutions are not a problem. Horrible.. Picked up supper, pork chow mein, house fried rice and chicken fingers. Chow mein gravy was like water, only consistency was the pork in it, house fried rice was white with no flavor. I called to inquire about it not being fried and was told to add soy sauce. Chicken fingers were huge, 3/4 of it was batter. Worse meal I have had in a long time. Only positive part was the service. Nice and polite workers and all that jazz Now the menu gives little to no description at all on anything that isn't priced to at least 13 dollars. In the end we chose a Hot & Spicy beef, Sweet and Sour Shrimp, and a Yatka Mein soup. The Hot & Spicy was the "best" part of the meal, although neither hot nor spicy. The Sweet and Sour shrimp was the plain deep fried shrimp with twice as much batter as there was actual shrimp. The batter overpowered any taste in the shrimp, which wasn't hard to do because the shrimp had no taste what-so-ever. Now yes it's supposed to be eaten with a sauce but I was given two sauces, unlabeled, and the Beef was already served in the sauce. So I tried both, one was horrible, an over amount of tang, the other tasted like a less strong version of the sauce prior. The Yatka Mein soup (A personal favorite of my Mom's who orders it at any Chinese place) Had almost no taste to speak of. The two sides of rice was put in the same container and there was no utensils to speak of. Chances are you had to specifically ask for them, so a person coming for the first time, planning to eat it somewhere other then home (Work, car, ect) Would be up shit's creek without a paddle. Lastly the bagging was just inconvenient. Stabled shut, filled to the brim, I had nothing to actually hold onto and I had walked there. Wow - had a pretty disappointing experience here tonight. I want to start off by stating that the Food was good and cooked to order - no complaints about that but when we got our bill - they charged us $10 for our soft drinks?!?! We received a total of 5 soft drinks with one of them being "iced tea" - although according to my husband it tasted like dirty dish water and he never finished it - when it was taken away it was 3/4 full. Our first delivery of soda was crammed with ice to the top of the cup leaving all of us with about a half of cup of soda to actually drink. When we ordered our second drinks we instructed the waitress to not fill it with ice. We also advised her that the iced tea didn't taste right. I guess you can chalk it up to us not looking at the menu closely enough - but there are NO FREE REFILLS here ! They didn't even offer to remove the lousy ice tea which was sent back! And at $2 a pop - that should have been removed. When we expressed our displeasure for the over priced drinks - we barely got an apology- instead we were sternly reminded that only large chain restaurants offer free refills and this was a small business where they don't offer this. I'm going to ask if anyone can fact check that because we were not convinced this is true. Soda should not be this expensive unless you are at the movies! This is without doubt the BEST chinese food I have ever had! I live about 40 minutes away .. So I will only get to have it once in a while. It's cozy & I love the few seats at the bar! Had dicey service once when they were busy, but in their defense it was when they first opened and I don't think they expected to get so busy so soon after opening. I love the food at Ying Dynasty but I can't stand the fruit flies that are constantly flying around your head, landing on the tables and walls and just being an overall nuisance. After putting up with the flies for several months, we have finally decided to no longer go there. As good as the food is, it's not worth the "grossness" of the flies! The waitress said it was due to the duck sauce but, as far as I know, all Chinese restaurants have duck sauce but that's the only place I have a problem. read more
