    Egg custard was amazing.

We went after seeing them on TV on Sunday and we were not disappointed. We booked the restaurant week sitting and came right after work in the midst of a rain storm. They sat us immediately and we started with drinks and ordering our meal. We did a mix and match from the Restaurant week menu as well as adding a Wagu rice bowl. I must say nothing disappointed us from the appetizers to dessert every dish was amazing. I will post the pictures and menu since I can not do justice in explaining the deliciousness of these dishes. Will definitely be going back for the full tasting menu. I loved the dark colors of the interior and cozy ambiance.

This restaurant has been on my radar as it is a contemporary Chinese Michelin star restaurant in New York City. We came for the restaurant week $60 3-course prefix. We started off with a cocktail each: basil breeze and yingtao sour. For appetizers, got the scallop and egg custard; for main entrée, got the Cornish hen and beef pie (came with their fatty rice); for dessert, got the nian gao and sesame cake. The air custard was very smooth and had a lot of umami - very similar to Japanese style chawamushi. The Cornish hen was soy-based and reminded me of hoisin sauce. The beef pie was extremely hearty and had good portion because of the side of rice. The pie crust was flaky and buttery, the bone marrow added more weight and heartiness, the stew had more meat than anticipated. From the desserts, the nian gao was light and gave off very southeast Asian flavors - strong on the coconut. The sesame cake was heavy - sauce caramel was very interesting as it was salty and savory yet sweet. Overall, great way to try their take on Chinese cuisine for a fraction of the price ($150 tasting menu). Overall, 4.2 out of five stars.

Celebrated my birthday at this small restaurant but careful curated dishes. Chinese fusion 1 Michelin star holder and they deserve it. They usually serve seasonal dishes and a pre-fixe menu. Drinks and tax and tip not included. Delicious treat. Description abound. Must reserve.

Went on a Saturday. Sat at a table but for those interested there were seats available at the bar where you can order à la carte. Seems like the tasting menu is a better deal though as each course is fairly small. The service was correct. Everything tasted very good but nothing that I'm going to dream about later. My favorites were the plum duck and the strawberry compote. I was looking forward to the black cod but wasn't a fan of putting it in a spring roll.

We were looking for a place to celebrate an anniversary and decided to book for the Michelin star Yingtao. This contemporary Chinese fine-dining restaurant provides a 7 course tasting menu of $150pp. We had the Hamachi with watermelon radish; Lo Mai Gai with sticky rice, lap cheong, and salted duck yolk; Wonton with Berkshire pork, tiger prawn, goji, cordyceps, superior stock; Black Cod with siken tofu, doubanjiang, suan cai; Plum duck with kumquat, honey, jujube; Mardarin Jelly with puerh tea and osmanthus; and Nian Gao with walnut, coconut, and lime. Additionally, we ordered a Caviar Old Bejing ($32) which includes a double fried chicken, house made tortilla, pickled radish, and hoisin aioili. I was pleasantly surprised by the decent size portions for each course, as they allowed for multiple bites. Overall I was happy with the food and service. There were definitely creative combinations of Chinese flavors in each dish. Though my pallet may not be refined enough to appreciate, I can tell how high quality the ingredients are. And the star was definitely the Nian Gao dessert. Perfect combinations of crispy, chewy, crunch, softness sweetness, and slight bitterness. It was absolutely delicious.

A symphony of flavors and elegance, Yingtao defines innovation in NYC fine dining scene through its combination of Chinese classics with modern twists. I particularly liked the comforting taste of the wonton soup, which provided a familiar yet elevated taste! I also truly enjoyed the Black cod. Overall, the service and ambiance were impressive and the food, albeit tasty, did not all particularly blow me away. However, given the rotating menu options, I certainly will be back to sample some other interesting options!

Imaginary food, thoughtful designed interior and impeccable service. Truly a hidden gem of Michelin stared restaurants. Yes the portions are small but each one is impactful and quite amazing. The eight course menu is a journey and is not designed to fill you up but rather open your pallet and mind as to what fusion food really can be. We were extremely happy with our experience and hope to return again.

Yingtao absolutely delivered. This Michelin-star Chinese-French tasting menu was creative and so fun to experience. Every course felt thoughtful and the flavors were on point. The vibes were amazing. You can actually see straight into the kitchen and watch the chefs work, which made the whole night feel even more special. The servers were incredibly attentive and so sweet. They even surprised us with a Polaroid to remember the night. The tasting menu was stacked, but my top dishes were the duck toast, jiao zi, lamb, and nian gao. I loved the cocktails. Truly such a great, elevated experience.

Food 5/10 Service 8/10 Ambiance 5/10 Not worth for the price point ($165/pp). Im not sure how they got their Michelin star. Most of the dishes were very one note and the non alcoholic pairing felt more like random non-alcoholic drinks than ones chosen specifically for the dish. If not for being on inkind I would not come back.

My friend and I did the 7 course tasting menu and had booked a last minute reservation. Phenomenal food (especially flavors, textures), presentation, and plate ware. Flavor combinations I've never had before. Solid ambiance and vibe. The staff seemed a bit nervous, though were very friendly, approachable, and attentive. I appreciated that the chef thanked us for coming as we left. Love a lady executive chef! Stand out dishes: Black sesame cake with red bean ice cream- I cannot rave about this enough!! ALL the flavors and textures were spot on without being too sweet. Exceptional and Happy dance worthy. Wonton soup- I could happily eat it daily. The broth was outstanding and unforgettable. Braised beef: YUM! Tender, savory. It was my friend's favorite dish with all components of the beef, pickled vegetable, and wide noodle. Honorable mentions: egg custard with uni and fish. The Disappointment: 6th dish/ palette cleanser of white peaches, oolong green tea shaved ice (yum, best component), and a fruit ice cream. Sadly, peaches were not ripe and bland. Could have done with a bite size of the fruit ?paper that felt more style over substance and unnecessarily big for aesthetics. Easily paid with InKind app. Menu changes seasonally. I cannot wait to return in the coming months! HIGHLY recommend!

NY Chinese meal with a female chef and a Michelin Star? Check. We wanted to end our New York eating tour strong. We had the Hamachi, Lo Mai Gai, Wonton, Black Cod, Plum Duck, Mandarin dessert starter, and Nina Gao. Every dish was exquisite. Favorites were the Lo Mai Gai and Mandarin. Best meal we had in New York ever. We will be back next trip. Happy Yelping!

4.5/5 for Bar A La Carte visit. Popped in for some bites and drinks at the bar, without expectations, left satisfied. Mushroom Toast - it was beautifully presented, mixed of texture (mushroom jam, mini rolled duck prosciutto, quail egg?) making each bite delicious. YingTao Burger - while it was specified with Mapo sauce, it wasn't very mapo. Douchi flavor was also mild, which i would hope it's used more. However overall balanced well and tasty. Also love the pickles were in subtle peppercorn flavor. Cocktails we tried were delicious as well. Would love to come back to try their tasting menu!

Overall I thought the experience was ok, but the service was a bit slow and I felt like at this price based on the size of the dishes, there should have been 1 extra savory dish or swap out the pre-dessert course with something bigger than 2 bites. My favorite dish was definitely the wontons, which were packed with flavor and meat, both in the broth and the wontons. Could have used 1 extra wonton also to make it even better since there were only 3 in the bowl. I thought the cod was too fishy and it really didn't stand out in a meaningful way as part of a tasting menu. I would only go back for the wontons and the dessert, but there wasn't enough value based on the size of each dish and that it was 2 hours to go through 7 dishes.

In a…read morelittle under a year, I have been to this spot uncoincidentally twice through passing- The street is bustling with enticing cuisine and merging sense of palette confusion. This STICKS OUT. It is French, it offers a sunlit outdoor patio and rests on New York cobblestone. Only the finest. We ordered their 30 dollar happy hour wine selection (their choice of white, rose or red). We went for rose as it was only approaching cocktail hour. Ended up spending $60, do your own math! As for food, this was where I had a blonde moment. The French wordings of cheese or meat was simply something I haven't even seen in France. So what to do? Tell our server we love rich goudas, goat cheeses and manchego's; but stray from any blue cheese family member or associate. He brought an array of an assortment! I do not recall the names of their cheese, two we liked one we did not appreciate. The unappreciated cheese was a reminder to my deep hatred for blue cheese and utter regret for even bringing it up to our server. TOO MUCH BREAD. Not because I am a model, but because I believe in proportion sizings, especially when it comes to the delicacies within the cheese world I aspire to be apart of. NO MORE BREAD PLEASE, I begged as I calm and swiftly maneuvered the slices into my concerned and judged mouth. We also enjoyed the escargot, 10/10. Get the escargot and wine babes xxx

The bar seating was plentiful and comfortable. There is plenty of space for people to stand behind the bar or a high top tables enjoying happy hour after work. If you go at 4:30 or 5, it's a bit calmer as the after work crowd trickles in. And as the evening went on, it started to get more and more packed, and it became a really lively vibe. After my friend left for another function, I stuck around a little bit longer for a little solo dinner. I had a glass of Prosecco off the happy hour menu followed by a dirty martini, and I did request to look at their full dinner menu because there was a couple items that I wanted to try. I wanted to try the duck Ragu and halloumi cheese, both of which were absolutely fantastic. The halloumi cheese was perfectly grilled and flavorful, and the duck Ragu was very comforting. I highly recommend both dishes. I ended up chatting with a woman sitting next to me who happened to work with select apertivo, and next thing I know one of the bartenders handed me a lovely bright cocktail to try on the house. It was a refreshing bubbly Barlume spritz that I'll definitely have to get again next time. Overall, I had a really great time at Barlume. The service was excellent from the servers and the bartenders, and they were all very attentive, personable and friendly throughout the evening. Did you know this is where the Beecher's used to be?! RIP, I miss their Mac n cheese.... the vibe is completely different now (think extravagant Mediterranean vibes, it's very instagram-mable with the beautiful bar area). I had made a reservation for 5:30 (again, life with a baby is very different)- we arrived early but the staff were very gracious and were able to get us seated. They seated us in a side alcove area where they had cushioned seating, which was very helpful. What we Ordered: Drinks: Barlume Spritz and Hibiscus Mule (N/A cocktail)- drinks were good, nothing too special but we appreciated the cute stirrers Appetizer: Halloumi- grilled halloumi with roasted eggplant puree. The saltiness of the halloumi went so well with the creaminess of the eggplant. (Baby liked the eggplant puree too hah) Entrees: Lobster Arrabiatta and Duck Ragu and Truffle Pizza. My husband got the lobster arrabiatta and was raving about how delicious it was. He said it was the perfect level of spice. My duck ragu was served with busiate (a corkscrew shaped pasta) which I thought 'trapped' the sauce perfectly so you get a nice saucy bite each time. Pasta was perfectly al dente- my one gripe is that I felt the duck ragu was a bit too salty, which even managed to overpower the tomato flavor. We shared the truffle pizza, which came topped off with stracciatella, porcini mushrooms and shaved truffles. I liked the porcini mushrooms on the pizza, this was a first for me. For dessert (which we had to gobble down quickly because baby was starting to get fussy) we got the pistachio cake. SAVE SPACE IN YOUR STOMACH FOR THIS ONE!!! This was my favorite in the whole meal, the kataifi gives it that wonderful crumbliness and it went soooo well with the mango sorbet that's served with it. Recommend for a nice dinner with friends or a cool place to grab drinks! 4.5 stars

Though it wasn't too hard to get a reservation, the place was completely full. That said, it's a relatively big space so they have plenty of tables to accommodate parties of many different sizes. The decor is fresh and refined, lots of greenery which is the move these days. Though it's a white tablecloth situation the vibe is not pretentious or buttoned up, it's lively and fun just in a sophisticated way. Cocktails and wine options aplenty here, with quite a few cocktail options featuring Greek/Mediterranean ingredients (mastiha, I'm looking at you) which I very much appreciated. A few folks started with the "I Speak For The Trees" (Spring 44 Vodka, Cucumber, Mastiha) cocktail and in doing so tried mastiha for the first time. I, not surprisingly, had to try the martini, which is the Fantasy Is A Necessary Ingredient (Dill Vodka, Sardinian Vermouth, Olive Oil). Despite not being a vodka person, vodka in dirty martinis is the one exception I will make from time to time, especially when there is a fun infusion that elevates the drink. I was extremely happy that, after ordering it, our server asked if I wanted it with a regular olive or feta-stuffed olive, as if there is really any deliberation that needs to happen there (read: feta-stuffed olives are a no-brainer). For the rest of the night I just got dirty martinis or espresso martinis which are both particularly excellent here. My partner tried the La Osa Albarino (Val do Salnes, Rias Biaxas, Spain) with our entrees which I also enjoyed. Food-wise, we got to sample a decent portion of the menu being a party of four, though we didn't order any of the bigger entrees (mostly because we could not justify the price). Everything was great and the only reason this isn't five stars is just because I reserve that for experiences where things are mind-blowing/super memorable and as they say, it is called the Hall of Fame not the Hall of the Very Good. In any case, it's hard to pick out a favorite dish because we really enjoyed everything, but that is a good sign for the rest of the menu should you want to order something we didn't try. Everything was an A or A+ in this meal so I'll skip the letter grades for this review. Eats, below: Norwegian Yellowtail Tartare w/ Ezme, Borage, Sumac Light, delicate, relatively straightforward as far as tartares go but the ezme adds a nice touch that's a nod to the Mediterranean. Gem Lettuce Salad w/ Dill, Scallion, Cucumber, Sesame-Anchovy Vinaigrette Super fresh and delicious, perhaps a little Caesar-esque but with far more intrigue. Sugar Kiss Melon w/ Stracciatella Di Buffala, Spicy Coppa, 25 Year Balsamic We actually decided to nix this at the last second when we realized we may have ordered a bit too much food but our lovely server brought it anyway (she really made the night for us). This could even be a dessert-type dish if you'd like, but certainly works among the savory courses too. Charred Spanish Octopus w/ Potato, Mint, Aged Sherry The octopus was beautifully cooked and presented, seasoned well, no notes on that. The potatoes were decent but less exciting than the rest of the dish imo. Roasted Dorade w/ Tamarind Glaze, Pomegranate, Jalapeño, Herb Salad Absolutely loved this dish. According to our server, it's on the opposite end of the spectrum from the branzino, which is a cleaner, simpler preparation (and the whole fish), while this is a total flavor bomb. While I do love branzino, I'm glad we opted for this at less than half of the price. And I'm pretty sure the last time the four us went out for dinner we ordered a full fish and I'm pretty sure it was branzino so here's to shaking things up. Rocky Mountain Lamb Chops w/ Black Garlic, Ras El Hanout, Mint Chermoula Despite not usually being a red meat person I really loved these. Incredibly juicy and flavorful, making a strong case for being priced as high as they are. Honey Spiced Carrots Don't sleep on sides! Often an afterthought but they deserve a seat at the table, and these were good evidence of this.
