Love this sushi place! Inexpensive but their food is bomb! I always order the yo nachos. It's an appetizer but when eaten alone it can be a great dish! The dish includes cute fried wanton shaped like bowl chips that has imitation grab, avocado, some raw tuna or poke mixed all together and placed in the wanton bowl! Comes with 4. I really like this place. For relatively cheap sushi its really good. Service is hit or miss sometimes but honestly for the price your paying its almost worth dealing with. They have a very extensive menu as well so there is a little bit of something for everything. The plate combos are pretty good. The ramen is good as well. First timer here, && it was awesome! The servers actually care. Servers were nice && helpful. Food was awesome, I didn't like the lion king till too much, they make a little different here. Always need to get some sushi especially if you are traveling on vacay. Happy to find this spot only minutes away from our hotel. Fantastic, cheap (they have HH sushi), good quality and the staff were very friendly. Loved they have macaroon ice cream sandwiches too! If you need help trying to choose what you want, their system is pretty easy to figure out. Pictures on the wall and descriptions help you choose what you want. Kids loved the fun art designs on the walls too. Very much recommend. Will most likely visit again when we see family down in CA! read more

I tried more than 15 different sushi and roll and the restaurant provided super fresh, humble service, and delicious sushi! I could see some bad reviews about the food quality but I believe it is intentionally to lower the value of this restaurant. May be it is the competitor's review. I came here with my family for dinner today. My sisters have been here a couple times while this is my first time. The place is clean and the decoration is ambient. I'm glad that the place has a bathroom. Customer service is on point. The food is on the more expensive side. Portions are pretty small so I'm disappointed. I LOVE the music here! They play a mixture of American pop songs with KPOP songs in their playlist. As I am typing this, Suran 'Wine' is playing. Vegetarians are not welcome here! I know I know, it's a sushi place but hear me out as someone in your party just might also be a vegetarian too next time you go. We like Japanese food but as a vegetarian, I have to be careful. A couple of times while there, my veggie rolls were put on the same plate as the sushi orders. I have no idea why. Another time, they just never brought out the vegetarian items. Then tonight was my last straw. We placed a pick-up and for some unknown reason, the veggie rolls (an actual section of their menu!) were rammed in the same takeout container as the crab rolls with the ginger on top of the crab ones! I continue to find it astounding that restaurants in the Bay Area still make these insensitive oversights. That explains why two people I know with celiac have a super hard time trusting restaurants that they are not mixing gluten items with theirs. So disappointed this place continues to co-mingle these orders. I'm sorry, I just can't go back. read more

If I worked in the area, and needed my sushi fix, I would not hesitate to go back! :) Food: I chose two rolls (USA and Philly) with a tobiko nigiri, just for kicks. My wife and I were not impressed. The beef was flavorless and the asparagus was undercooked. My wife made bacon wrapped asparagus and it was delicious! Maybe you can add that to the menu? It's definitely a lot like a fast food joint, except the quality is still real good. Prices are good, service is quick but don't expect for someone to check up on you every now and then. Superb and superior service!! I came here for lunch on a Monday afternoon, purposefully after the lunch crowd. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted, given water and a menu. I ordered their 2 item special bento box and a sushi roll. The two item special had good sized portions. My only drawback with the box was that the teriyaki chicken tasted not fresh, not spoiled, but not fresh either. It was also gray in color. The shrimp tempura was more tempura batter than shrimp. My sushi roll was ok. I ordered the King California roll. It was fried hard but still good. I was always checked on and asked if I needed more of anything. It was also fairly priced. $10.00 for a two item bento and about $7.00 for the roll. I really am beyond pleased with the service. The food...I've had better. read more

Excellent food, service and food presentation. There was a party of twelve behind us. Even with a big party the employees were efficient and friendly (especially family friendly). Many regulars were in tonight and it was nice to hear the employees and customers acknowledge each other by name and take a moment to make small talk (they were busy). I had the chicken donburi (sauce had a nice balance of sweet and tangy) and vegetable tempura (9 pieces). The tempura was crisp, fresh, and not doughy. It came with a small side of sesame oil coleslaw and small pieces of daikon; refreshing and light. Ordered the Alameda roll and it "broke da mouth"! All-in-all it was a great experience! read more

I first rated this place in 2014 giving it 4 stars. I was pleased with the food, the prices, the staff, just all around good place. We have been going there often ever since. Well, it has been several months since we have been there (due to personal things). Well I am guessing they've changed management or owners. The menu remains the same. We ordered the items we have had there at least a dozen times. The portions have shrunk, the prices have been raised and the service was okay at best. We ordered 3 combos (all the same), tempura plate and 2 appetizers. Everything came out at the same time except one combo. We waited and waited. The servers (neither whom we recognized ) kept saying "its coming". About 20 minutes later we finally got the last combo meal. I asked about the 2 male workers who have been there since we first ate there in 2014. I was told they no longer work there. It's too bad to lose a place that was a joy to go to for a meal. Love this place, love Yo Sushi in general. Unlike the Fairfield location, Alameda Yo is a lot bigger. Clean place, friendly staff and of course their sushi is DELICIOUS! My favorite is Alien Brain and Double Tuna (which they no longer serve in Fairfield). The Alameda is also yummy, as well as their tempura udon. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone craving sushi in the area. read more

This place was nearby so decided to do a pickup order since reviews were mostly positive. Unfortunately the sushi was not fresh. When I opened the container it had a distinct fishy smell. I really wanted to eat but held back because it's never worth an upset stomach or getting sick, so I tossed it. Such a waste. Not sure why all the reviews mention very fresh. Cashier was nice though.
