I came here because I wanted to support a business for Juneteenth, and as it turns out I came out with some of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I got the Poppin Pastrami and the Cajun. The prices for these sandwiches are standard (if not slightly cheaper) for the area, 10 and 9 dollars respectively. What you get is what I think has to be some of the freshest sandwiches in the Gardena/Carson area. The cajun was flavorful with like this spicy turkey kind of thing and a dark bread, and just tasted perfect? I dunno. I've yet to eat the Pastrami since I'm saving that for later, as the cajun has me full already. I can't speak for their other offerings like yogurt and smoothies. But since I live in the area I think I'll check that out next time. As an aside, the service I received was pretty good as well (I don't like to rate people on service, since I work in food service and it's COVID right now..). When you enter, you go all the way to the right and pick up a slip and fill out what you want and then slip it under the glass. We didn't know that and stood by the register and waited, so just a heads up! They were basically out of all the bread too - they only had marble, cranberry walnut, and sweet french when we got there. We went with a blazin' cajun sandwich on sweet french bread (original is supposed to be squaw with oats.) And it was delicious. The cajun turkey, cajun mayo, honey mustard, and red onions gave it so much flavor. Definitely recommend. The cajun flavor gave it a little hint of spice - I've never had a sandwich like that before. I was really surprised that this place had 5 stars, like 5 whole stars (I've never seen a restaurant with 5 whole stars with more than 500 reviews.) But I give them 4 stars because the sandwich is a little small so $9 is a bit pricey for it. The service was also average - they seemed too tired to really care and I also made a note of no tomatoes in the special requests box yet they still put tomatoes in my sandwich. She took them out before finishing my sandwich (good thing I was watching.) I advise you to watch while they make your food especially if you have allergies. I don't know if he's the owner, but I'm assuming he is based on his genuine care and pride for the store, product, and customer. I got the Blazin' Cajun Turkey on sourdough and it was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. The meat is so good, and make sure you get the Cajun mayo with it,too. Nestled in a small plaza off Vermont Ave, I've come here a few times already with my husband. You can either build-your-own sandwich or choose one from their menu. I've ordered both ways and have NEVER had a better sandwich. They don't skimp on ingredients, everything is fresh and made to order, and prices are amazing for the quality and amount. So far I've had the blazin' cajun turkey, tuna delite, and italian slammer. It's my favorite sandwich shop near home. They also have smoothies which are pretty delicious too. I'm so happy to see a small independently owned business making high quality healthy foods in the area where there is no shortage of fast food drive thrus. I really hate to give them 3 stars... Because I used to love this place! I along with some other people from my church regularly order from here, but the last two times we ate (yesterday and about a month ago) something's been alittle off. A month ago, we noticed that our sandwiches definitely looked flatter n smaller than usual. My friend who picked up the food noticed that there were some new workers there, so that could be why. Yesterday, they flat out messed up all of our sandwich orders. They were all missing ingredients. 1 sandwich was missing sprouts, another was missing almost half the veggies, and mine was missing avocados even though I was charged for it :( My fault for not watching them like a hawk. Where have I been?! I've lived down the street and go to the little corner store for over 10 years and JUST had my first sandwich this week. As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted and asked "This your first time, isn't it?" (Waiting on my sandwich, they greeted regulars by name) After I sheepishly said "Yes" they warmly explained how to order, recommended a few favs and left me to figure out what delicious options I wanted. A new sandwich palace has been discovered. Finally had time to find out what the deal was with this place. I've driven by the liquor store off Vermont but never saw anything that would grab my attention. Thanks to Yelp, I've found a place in the most unlikely of places. Yo-way is located half way back of the strip mall by a cell phone place. It's not very big and there isn't a lot of seating so it's pretty much a take out place. You be greeted warmly as you walk in and made to feel your business is appreciated. First timers are instructed on the ordering process and available options. They have a nice selection of their own specialty sandwiches. I went with the Pop's Italian. Talk about a monster sandwich, if $14 bucks sounds high, you'll understand once you open that Boars Head filled chunk of food. A lot of cured meat (eh Paisan, itsa Italian sandwich capisce?) so it's gonna be a bit salty but oooohhh so good. The staff is just so friendly and the walls of the shop are covered with spiritual words of wisdom. Glad I finally tried this place out. Service was exceptional and my sandwich was really good, except it wasn't my sandwich. I ordered a turkey & roast beef on sourdough but I got a Turkey on Squaw. I felt bad that I got someone else's sandwich & I hope the person who got mine enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed the wrong sandwich. I had to head out to orange county and didn't have time to go back to get the mistake fixed. Like a lot of people I really wanted to see what this place is about after they were featured in yelps top 100 list. Can be hard to spot and drive right by this unassuming shop. Have your google maps on when trying to find this place. So the shop is small and looks a normal sandwich ship. The staff was friendly and helpful. Now unto the food. There are a lot of ways to customize your sandwich. A variety of bread, meat, toppings and dressing to choose from. We had the pastrami and the club stacker which roast beef , turkey and ham. Pastrami was solid but the turkey in my club stacker was a tad dry. Verdict - Pretty good sandwich shop but I have definitely had better and wouldn't go too far out of my way to come here. read more
