Weather we ordered BBQ spare ribs, fried wontons, spring rolls, pork fried dumplings, Kung Po chicken, Roasted pork with string beans, Thai basil chicken or Tofu green curry. I am so glad I found this place! This is hands down the best Chinese food in the area. The food is always fresh and the delivery is always fairly quick. The staff is also very friendly. The gentleman behind the counter(I think he is the owner) is always pleasant. I literally threw away all of my other chinese take out menus after finding this place. The food is far above average. The shrimp is large, fresh, and deveined which many places unfortunately do not do which disgusts me. I had to give them 4 stars because they recently decided to close on Sundays and for me takeout/delivery of Chinese is often on weekends. The food is mediocre. My issue is with the honesty of the establishment. Prior to ordering the website stated a delivery charge of $1 for everything under $8.00. I ordered a quart of shrimp and lobster for approximately $15.00. At that time a $1.00 delivery charge showed up I decided to proceed with the order and added a tip for the delivery person. When I went to check out the delivery charge was now $2.00. At that point I removed the tip. The facility called me to confirm receipt of the order and asked if I wanted to add a tip. I said no and explained due to the multiple changes for the delivery charge the tip was removed. The person just laughed and said OK. The food was charged to my Discover card. The food was delivered. I signed the receipt without adding a tip saving the receipt. Upon review of my Discover bill I noticed that $2.00 was added to the charge. For me the only explanation is that the driver added a $2.00 tip for himself after I signed the receipt. I strongly recommend not ordering from this place. If you do order keep your receipt and check against your bill. read more

We have done delivery from here a few times and it is decent. General tso's tofu was good. The sautéed spinach with garlic is great - very fresh and green, and an excellent portion. Noodles were not greasy and pretty well done. The scallion pancakes, which are a must-order item for me, were kind of thick and heavy. Delivery is quick (and we're not super close), and the prices are totally reasonable. In the past few years, Yoan's Garden has become the take-out joint by which I judge all other take-out joints, and is easily the best in the area in my opinion. American Chinese food done right. The menu is extensive and the prices are great - at the time of this writing, $4-6 for most small dishes and lunch specials and $7-8 for most large dishes and dinner specials. The portions are pretty generous, too. The entree dishes are always fresh, never overcooked and they never feel overly greasy. Sometimes they're a little heavy on the sauce, but that isn't a problem for me as I like to let the rice absorb some of it and the sauces themselves are delicious. If you think it will be an issue, it's no problem to order the sauce on the side. The rice is excellent. White and brown rices are just right, and the fried is actually fried, not just yellow rice with a few veggies tossed in. Now, it is just rice from a take-out place so it probably won't blow your mind, but it won't leave you wishing it was better in any way. On the starter side of things, the dumplings are totally awesome, the accompanying sauce is my favorite out of anywhere I've tried. Egg rolls and soups are on the same level as the rice, nothing mind-blowing, but still totally solid - if you're craving them, they'll hit the spot for sure - I'm a big fan of the Chicken Rice soup (chicken and rice in the same broth as Wonton soup) My personal favorite order is the Chicken w/ Broccoli and asking for Garlic Sauce instead of the default Brown. It's not really spicy at all (unless you can't tolerate any sort of spicyness) but it tastes great. The Boneless Spare Ribs and aforementioned Dumplings are worthy runners-up. I believe it's family run, and the ladies behind the counter are always friendly an efficient. For eating in, food comes up quick and the atmosphere is what you'd expect from a take-out place, but I'd describe it as clean and cozy, I've never felt uncomfortable while eating there. Delivery service is also quite good. I do a fair amount of traveling (both within the state and around the country), and whenever I get cheap take-out from somewhere else, I find myself wishing it was Yoan's Garden. The only place I've found for a cheap lunch on the same level is Excellent Dumpling House on Lafayette in NYC - I like the dumplings at Yoan's better though, go figure! I've taken many friends here and they've all fallen in love - as much as you can with a take-out place anyway, give it a shot! read more

Way above average for Chinese take out, very nice staff/family that runs the place. Ingredients are fresh so dishes are well prepared and seem less greasy. I've had the Thai Basil fried rice a couple of times, it is excellent and a big portion. Pork fried rice, steamed dumplings, crab rangoon are all very good as well. In addition to fortune cookies, they also include almond cookies which seem homemade and are tasty. Tried this place for the first time tonight. So disappointed. Ordered the Sesame Chicken, Pad Thai noodles with shrimp from their limited Thai menu, Sweet & Sour Shrimp and Pineapple Fried Rice. The noodles had the most unappetizing smell, gag. I tasted a forkful and couldn't eat anymore just the smell was a turnoff. The coating on the Sesame Chicken was very doughy and the dish was tasteless. The Pineapple rice was ok, a bit lacking in flavor. We were looking for a new place that delivers cause who really wants to go out in this weather. Next time I will make the drive to Lings. They never let me down. I will never order from Yoans again. I thought the pad thai was terrible (you can get it better at mei thai) and the shrimp with lobster sauce was too salty. This place is not worth your time anymore! I used to order there religiously for years! Then there was an incident where a friend of mine found a rat turd in their chicken soup!!!! I haven't ordered from them for well over a year! Tonight I decided to give them another shot! As a person who has worked in the food industry for over 10 years I completely understand that restaurants have their ups and downs. I ordered my food at 6:22 pm at 8:37 pm I received my food! Over 2 hours for food? I could have literally made my own food in a shorter amount of time! When I finally was able to eat my food it wasn't even luke warm and that's me being generous! When I called to voice my concerns I was told by the "Manager" that I couldn't tell the difference between hot and cold! She continued on to tell me that they where busy and that's why it took 2 hours! again I am well versed in the food service industry and this just isn't acceptable! This is the only Chinese food in the area I will eat. Thankfully, when I moved from Iselin to Fords I was still able to get delivery. What's better? They remembered me when I called in from my new place and asked how my mother in law is doing! The staff goes above and beyond to know their customers and make us happy and... the food is delicious! From the usual to something adventurous, I've never had a complaint about anything I've tried from there. The amount of food they give is always more than enough, so I have leftovers. I always get an order of the family favorite - Chicken and broccoli; they don't skimp on the chicken and the broccoli pieces are huge! The food gets here piping hot and in no time at all! This is the ONLY place for Chinese take out in the Woodbridge area...Finally a place to go to when I want to satisfy that Chinese take out craving! Never ever disappointing! I love the food here! Pepper steak and onion good flavor but quality of meat cud have been better..shredded pork and string beans stunk. far far far from what shredded actually means. Boneless spare rib tips stunk too extremely dry. Pork fried rice and nooble very dark in color,oily. Over all this place is ok. I wudnt order from again but continue my quest.
