Inside of the shop has two hand sanitizers, no seating indoors bc it's small but also covid compliant, cashier/server didn't wear gloves when handling the food. Not sure if Glendale isn't considered LA county, bc they didn't have outdoor dining, but their benches were open. The green goodness soft serve was soft. I wouldn't say creamy but it wasn't like a sherbet or sorbet. My friend didn't like the salted caramel. The ratio was off for her. I paid about $9 for a small and she might've paid like $15 bc she got the medium w pistachios. The neighborhood is cute but 6/20 people we saw walking down the block weren't wearing masks. Being my first time here, I didn't know that this place rotates their soft serve flavors on from day to day. It makes sense since they only have a few soft serve machines out. But I like that they change it up everyday. From the six options they had, I selected the chocolate bliss and pumpkin spice. The pumpkin spice reminded me so much of pumpkin pie but the flavor was so overwhelming after several bites (licks?). The chocolate was my favorite, simple but classic. For having no dairy in it, the soft serve was pretty solid and creamy. Although I'm not a huge fan of the pumpkin space, Yoga-urt's flavors are very rich and of high quality. I walked in without knowing it was a vegan yogurt shop. I honestly didn't like the taste of the yogurt, but I love that there's a vegan option for people who want/need it. It's an aesthetically pleasing yogurt located inside a cute shop in a small neighborhood drive. On top of that, the cashier was sooooo sweet and friendly. Because of all this, I really wanted to love the yogurt, but it just wasn't for me. (I believe their yogurt is made out of almond milk, and that's probably the biggest reason why I didn't like it). I tried their cashew based yogurt, vanilla flavor. I was surprised it was good, different but good. I would visit this locale again. There are tiny signs around that say their yogurts are cashew based, I wish they had used almond, oat or soy instead. Although the little signs were around, my focus was on the flavors, I would recommend the business to have their employees remind customers of any cashew allergies. It's a small business, very casual, narrow hall leading to the back seating (shared with other businesses I believe), front seating is also available. This place has the best ice cream! The reason I say that is it's not made with milk and actually almond milk based ice cream which allows you to enjoy the flavors and not get that upset stomach feeling(bloating). It is a bit pricier than the regular ice cream but your tummy feels much better after eating this delicious ice cream so I think it's worth it. Ok, confession time...I think I am addicted to this soft serve. I can honestly say this is the best soft serve I have ever eaten, vegan or non vegan. I have visited both locations, Echo Park is closer to work and Glendale is closer to home. They make everything in house using real ingredients, and yes it is a little pricier because of that. However, if you think about what you are putting in your body it pays to spend a little more for the nutrition you get with your indulgence. Since they do make everything fresh and they are a small business they have the ability for 6 flavors on any given day. They typically have their 4 staples (Chocolate, Peanut Butter, Strawberry, & Salted Caramel) and they will rotate 2 flavors based on rotation or seasonality (Summer time brings flavors like Peach, Cherry, and Mango, Fall/Winter will bring Pumpkin Spice and Gingerbread). Their flavors are updated on their Instagram Stories everyday. Did I mention I was addicted?? Haha The Chocolate and Peanut Butter are good for the days you want a rich dessert and the fruity flavors are good for a lighter dessert. Finally got to try Yoga-urt during the stay at home order. We had to get out of the house and we have to keep the small businesses running. I was surprised it was so pricey but once you try it, you will be sold. You can taste the almond and cashew in every spoon. It's nice and smooth and not too sweet. It was really refreshing on a warm day and long walk. I'll definitely be back to try other flavors or simply get a pint. There seems to be ample street parking around. Order online or phone ahead. I hesitate to say why we were treated differently than the family before us. But the point is we were just there for ice cream like anyone else. Maybe because the family before us left, and we were the only one in the shop getting ice cream next) they thought they could treat us differently and no one would notice. I want to clarify that the froyo itself deserves all 5 stars! I've been coming here for years....Usually I order through Postmates but yesterday I decided to pop by since we hadn't been back agfter Covid. I was so disappointed! Firstly, the place needs to be cleaned. The topping station was a total mess and just unorganized and service was so bad! I'm not exactly sure if it was the owner, but the woman who came to help me was incredibly rude and lacked customer service skills. She gave me attitude when I gave her my order and her tone was very rude. She kept spraying the counter by the register where my froyo was with a cleaning spray without moving it or covering it, while the rest of the place was a disaster!! I had also purchased a to go froyo and asked her for lids on our soft serves and she rudely replied "next time tell us in the beginning if you need a lid." I replied saying, oh I assumed you figured I was ordering to go I have a to go pack from your freezer and 3 yogurts which I'm not clearly eating myself. Of course she had to reply, "we can't assume next time tell us." No lady, how about ask me. It's called customer service. Don't blame people for your lack of service and kindness. I felt super healthy eating this frozen "yogurt". From the name, I thought this was a frozen yogurt place with some nice vegan/dairy-free options--but no this place is 100% vegan. But honestly with thier vegan froyo, I wouldn't be able to tell at all. Thick, creamy, and rich. The Peanut Butter flavor really stood out to me, as it had a strong PB flavor and was very rich. The Chocolate one was good too. I sampled the Caramel flavor as well, but it was way too sweet. They have a good mix of both indulgent flavors and ones that are more fruit & greens based. And they let you sample! :) Always a plus. I had a swirl of the Greens which literally tasted like a green juice in a soft serve form. Amazing. The soft serve are thick and doesn't melt quickly. As it's pretty packed, their small size (~$5) was more than satisfying. It's on the more pricer side of froyo (first topping's a $1), but they put a lot of care crafting their ice creams. read more

My friends and I wanted dessert after eating dinner nearby and Christina C. found this place on Yelp! (We needed a vegan dessert place since I'm now a vegan.) Street parking is hard to find on this block but there is a small parking lot for plaza customers that you can park in for up to 30 minutes so I parked there. I don't know if Yoga-urt is part of that plaza but no one towed my car away... Thank goodness I'm not allergic to almonds and cashews anymore because that is what the ice cream here is made from! While they have a long list of delicious-sounding ice cream flavours, only a handful are available at a time, although they do have more flavours available in pints for purchase. I got a small with two flavours--strawberry and mint. And they were delicious and refreshing! The serving size was quite generous too. They have quite a few tables in front of their store so you can sit and enjoy your soft serve. They also offer shipping so you can enjoy their soft serve from wherever you are! read more

Finally. After years of bookmarking this place, I made the time to check it out for myself. I've found myself studying a lot at Coffee Commissary up the street and I was suddenly craving something sweet for a snack. On my break, I walked down to Yoga-Urt and realized that the flavors get switched out every week (if I'm not mistaken). There were about 6-8 flavors featured that day and I had the pleasure of sampling a few flavors before choosing. I usually prefer fruity flavors but there was something about the chocolate and peanut butter that were unlike anything I'd tried before. CHOCOLATE BLISS PEANUT BUTTER PRAVA Both deserve a 5/5. These flavors turned out to be more rich than if they were to be made with dairy. Both derived from cashew mylk among other vegan ingredients, it seemed as though I was picking up a spoonful of custard with each bite and not feeling as guilty about it. The flavors are rich and taste exactly like what they are named. Very well done. I don't know how they do it but I'm so curious to try more of their flavors. In the historically beautiful neighborhood of Kenneth Village, you can't go wrong here. There's an array of activities ranging from food, coffee/tea, desserts, yoga, CrossFit, and so much more. Update for two reasons: 1. They are serving samples again, at this time. 2. I just recently had an experience with Magpies Soft-serve that made me feel so thankful for Yoga-Urt! I have had Magpies a few times over the years and each time I say I'm not going there again. But I just had to see if it was still the same so I experimented. I got a mini from the Glendale location and ate it in the car on the way to Magpies in Highland Park. Once I arrived at Magpies I ordered a mini from them and after two bites, I threw it out. Honestly, it was a hot day and I totally would have eaten it if it was good. It was soooo much sweeter than Yoga-urt, and lacked a depth of flavor and freshness that I've become accustomed to. I'm wondering what it was that was so lacking and the only thing I can think of is that it's just too sweet, or if it's because of the probiotics, or the freshness? If I lived closer I'd be at Yoga-urt way too often for my own good. I always find it amazing when people cringe at vegan options, as if they don't taste as good as an animal product. I often find they taste better. That's the case here! This soft serve is so delish! I've only been twice but it's always worth a stop if I'm nearby and totally on my radar now. Located in the very cute Kenneth Village, parking is never a problem and they have plenty of very nice and relaxing seating options (including a back patio). My go to order is the peanut butter (and I usually hate pb, I'm more of an almond butter person) and strawberry with brownies in a mini cone (also vegan). So good!!!! My boyfriend jokes that they make his serving smaller because they think he's not into vegan options but for some reason my order is always a bit heartier (no complaints here!). If you check in on yelp you receive a 10% discount and their prices are already completely and very much appreciated, reasonable in comparison to other similar options in LA. I could not believe all the hype surrounding this place so my friends and I had to try it for ourselves. It was SO good, omg. Between all of us, we tried all of their daily flavors and all of us liked ours. The best part is that ALL are vegan, and most of their packaging is paper-based, not plastic. Went in with a group to get cones. Something very strange happened. They had the cones out. But one was broken. The woman behind the counter started filling orders one by one, handing everyone a good cone and just skipping the broken one.  Our friend was in the middle of the group, and when she got to her, she went and picked up the broken one from the little stand and said, you don't mind taking the broken one, do you?  Mind you there was still a stack of not broken cones she could have continued to pull from. And she had skipped over that obviously broken one and not even tried to offer it to anyone else prior to that in line, or in the group that was in the store at that time. Our friend happened to be the only brown person in the group. Our friend said obviously a not broken one would be preferable. The order got filled. And again didn't try to offer that broken one to anyone else in line in the group. The yogurt tasted good. But what the heck was that all about? Yes, not offering the broken cone to anyone else in line before that really happened. Yes then going back to pick it up and offering it to the one brown person in line and the one brown person in the group really happened, when there were still not broken ones to pull from. Yes it really happened and what in the world was that all about? Yes it was strange, and hopefully not in line with what this company wants to continue to stand for or who this company wants to be. It was so strange it's one of those things where you want to say it was nothing. But what the heck was going on there. It was something. It was something. We just had to acknowledge it. Just when I think this place can't possibly get more expensive, they go and raise the prices another $1. This last time I went, they hadn't even bothered filling in the prices on the chalkboard, likely because they figured the prices would just go up again by the time they came down from the ladder. At $11 a serving with no toppings, you're looking at about $1 a spoonful. Tres cher. The 4 stars is for the incredible taste. My first time here, cute little shop in my favorite Kenneth village . Parking is always a little challenging in Kenneth village but you can park across the street in a lot that is free parking. The guy who helped us was friendly and offered to taste their flavors. I immediately chose radiant rose flavor which reminded me of Persian traditional ice cream . He was nice enough to explain the ingredients (turmeric and saffron and rose water) which is what we have in Persian ice cream. I added pistachios topping which was quite generous and enjoyed it . I got the smallest cup which was almost $5 which I thought was a little over priced but I guess for the quality it made sense. I support small businesses like this who offer unique stuff. Love this cute little place! It's tucked away in Kenneth Village and easy to miss among all the little shops on the street. The yogurt is made from scratch, vegan, and organic, and their flavors change daily. The toppings are always fresh and they have a lot of healthy options. My favorite flavor at the moment is the strawberry. I like to get it with granola, coconut, and chocolate chips as the toppings. I've been here a few times and the service has been friendly. They provide lots of samples. I went with my mom and sister on Cinco de Mayo and I believe we were helped by the owner, who greeted us and asked if I'd been there before as she had never seen me. A few other customers came in after us and it was obvious they were regulars. It's nice that they want to get to know you (at least the owner did). The yogurt is pretty expensive but is justifiable by the high quality and the fact that it's organic. Their waffle cones also taste really good and they make them fresh daily on-site. On Tuesdays, they make their waffle cones in a hard-shell taco shape which is pretty cool (Taco Tuesdays!). You can fit multiple yogurt flavors inside. I want to go back on a Tuesday just to get the taco shell! Seating is limited inside but they have an outdoor patio in the back.
