During Covid- I was happy to notice as I walked in social distancing signs and stickers. I took it upon myself to wait until the party of four left. I approached the counter to place my order and I the cashier couldn't hear me (music was blaring and on top of that I had my mask on) so I stepped a little closer and repeated my order. She responded to me telling me to step back. Wow I was so shocked I no longer knew what I wanted. I asked for plain and got coconut and left with a bitter taste due to the lack of customer care. My kid has dairy allergies and she got the non dairy yogurt, yet she got sick with an allergic reaction and started throwing up with severe pain. I contacted the store and even spoke with the manager and they gave me the lame explanation and lie that their non dairy yogurt has no dairy. Well guess what, they are CLEARLY cross contaminating the non dairy yogurt with another dairy yogurt. How? Most likely they are putting a dairy yogurt in the same machine so when other people pull the lever to get a little of both yogurts that's when they contaminate it. How dumb can this people be and not realize that? They are so ignorant and stubborn that they didn't admit any fault. I let it go but if next time I find that they are mixing dairy and non dairy yogurt I will sue this store myself. If these guys would use simple logic and be smart they would simply put ALL the non dairy yogurt into the same machine so that there is zero cross contamination. The manager here is so ignorant and impolite and didn't even have the decency of refunding my money because they "swore" the yogurt is non dairy. It is not. Children can get really sick to the point where they will end up in the hospital and these guys have no clue what dairy is or does to people that are allergic to it. read more

Well in case you hadn't noticed frozen yogurt has been the new trend for at least the last five years. Several different companies have opened up their own frozen yogurt brands and this one is no different. Yogurt land has several shops around LA and they all have the same format. They usually have anywhere from 8 to 12 different flavors including low-fat or fat-free options. One nice thing is that you can pretty much take unlimited samples here. They won't give you that dirty look and guilt trip you when you ask for that third or fifth or even seventh free sample before deciding exactly which flavor you want. The problem though especially if it's your first time is underestimating how much your total cost will be. My advice is to go with the smallest size cup and don't fill it up past the top. Otherwise you might end up paying way more than you expect too. Another nice thing here is that you get to choose as many different and whatever quantity of toppings that you want. Again remember you're going to end up paying buddy else so keep that in mind too. Anyway nice place to go on a sunny day or after dessert. Get a cold treat and enjoy! read more

Solid Yogurtland. The staff has sample cups all divided up and ready to go when you ask for them. 3 per person, so pretty standard across the board for Yogurtlands. I usually only get the Plain Tart Yogurt so I can only judge this location's plain tart yogurt. And it was good. Some places it's too runny or too firm and the consistency and taste was just right. As for toppings, I usually get a variety of the fruits and today I got mango, kiwi, strawberry, and maraschino cherries. And I made an exception and got mochi. All the fruits were fresh - strawberries taste like they are just cut and chilled to the right temperature, and the mango was just perfect, but not overripe or underripe. As far as interior goes, it's clean and it has like 7-8 tables of 2-3 chairs each. I came at 3pm and it was pretty filled. The inside is bright and well lit and clean. I think Yogurtland's prices have gone up over the past few years, and if it was still around 30 cents an ounce (without the promos), I would give the place 5 stars. But I bought two maybe half-full yogurts and it cost about $6 dollars. Let the Pasadena yogurt battle begin! Food: We've had Cherry on Top on Green for awhile now, but this Yogurtland fills a void on Lake that the previous tenant (Coldstone) could not. The setup is the same as other Yogurtland locations: self-serve yogurt machines with rotating flavor themes. I thought I was familiar with most of the places on Yelp but somehow I did not realise that there was a Yogurtland here! I asked the girl behind the counter how long they had been open and she said about 1.5 years. Oops -_- This location is nice since there are other shops on the street to visit either before or after you enjoy your froyo. I parked at the lot on the corner of Del Mar since I was going to Trader Joe's afterwards, but the lot by the closed Borders is probably closer. Street parking is also an option, although I'm not sure what the rates are. This Yogurtland seems very chill about how much yogurt people can sample. While you do have to ask at the counter for sample cups, she gives everyone three cups and doesn't pay attention to how many samples or how big a sample people take. They had 16 flavours available and I ended up getting four: 1. New York Cheesecake: Classic. Tastes cream cheese-y in a good way :) According to the label, it's non-fat, has calcium, is gluten-free, contains live and active cultures, and is made with Real California Milk. 2. Pineapple Tangerine Tart: Limited time flavour! I'm not a big fan of pineapples but the flavour was more subtle here and complimented the tangerine flavour well. If you like tart citrus flavoured foods, definitely try this one out. According to the label, it's non-fat, has calcium, is gluten-free, is vitamin C fortified, contains live and active cultures, is made with Real California Milk, and is made with real pineapples and tangerines. 3. Creme Brulee: I feel like this one has a misleading name. It doesn't taste like creme brulee; there is nothing that makes me think caramelized sugar was put into it. I think a better name would be just "Custard." According to the label, it's non-fat, has calcium, is gluten-free, contains live and active cultures, is made with Real California Milk, and also has Real Vanilla. 4. Guava Sorbet: This was very light and refreshing, perfect for the hot 100+ degrees weather we've been having! According to the label, it's non-fat, dairy-free, gluten-free, vitamin C fortified, and made with real guavas. Like all Yogurtlands, you grab a cup (by the entrance), get as much froyo as you want, put as many toppings (from their topping bar to the left of the froyo machines) that you want, and then you wait in line to pay. Once it's your turn, you put your cup on the scale to be weighed. Yogurland also has a rewards program now; you can either get a rewards card (which will need to be registered online) or you can download their app. I got the rewards card since right now they're doing a promo where if you register you'll get 6 oz. free instead of the normal 3 oz. The rewards program seems to be similar to Starbucks' program where there are different levels depending on how often you buy their product and you also get freebies for your birthday, etc. There are several tables available to sit at and complimentary fruit-infused water as well. I'm a huge fan of Yogurtland, but this location was not as good as the others in it's franchise. Yogurtland's froyo in general is a solid choice -- I love its smooth and creamy consistency, and the flavors are always delicious and taste exactly how they are supposed to. I'm definitely biased to certain flavors (green tea, taro, double cookies and cream), but the Pasadena Yogurtland seemed to have a smaller selection of flavors, none of which were my favorites. The major turn off for me was that the employees were not as friendly as what seems like the standard is for Yogurtland. They were not welcoming when customers entered and did not offer sample cups like they normally do. I also felt like I got some dirty looks while sampling/serving my yogurt. A REVIEW FOR GERMAPHOBES: First time I've gotten FroYo in years. The thing that grosses me out about these help yourself places is the same thing that made me stop coming to them: the greater likelihood of picking up foreign bacteria and germs! The place itself is generally clean; unfortunately, there is no way to know how often people wash their hands throughout the day. When a wave of customers (often with dirty-fingered kids in tow) comes in, you know at least a few of them touching the nozzles and sampling the goods probably have questionable hygiene. They even have a sign above the yogurt dispensers reminding people not to use their fingers to sample. Eww! It seems they must have had problems with customers doing this very thing if they need a sign as a reminder. (Maybe it's because you have to ask for the sampler cups?). Same thing goes with the toppings. Spoons are used by multiple customers...you just don't know. I saw a kid reaching into the cheesecake bites to grab a couple with fingers. With the way the toppings are just open, even with a sneeze guard it's easy to see how a customer without notice can cough or sneeze into the frozen mango pieces you top your FroYo with. I guess it's no greater risk than going to a salad bar but the whole serve yourself thing seems rather unsanitary to me. I'd rather just get a pint of Ben & Jerry's. read more

A very cute and modern designed location with about 10-12 varieties of yogurts to choose from. My favorite there is the pistachio yogurt. Of course you can mix flavors as you wish. And just got the holidays, they now have apple strudel and pumpkin coffee pie flavored yogurt. Their fruit and chocolate bar is full of choices. I also always discover a rare Japanese fruits there. A walk down from where my brother's apartment is, Yogurtland is the most convenient place to buy frozen yogurt. This location does a good job of offering man selections to its customers, and keeping up with special flavors during the holidays and certain promotions. They also have a slightly wider variety of toppings than some of the other locations that I have been to, which is great if you want to customize your bowl of frozen yogurt as much as you can! Parking is on Lake Ave or in the structure off Lake and San Pasqual ( right next to the old Bordes building). There is one restroom inside and it is reserved for customers only. Not only do some locations lack a variety in different flavors, but their service is never all that note-worthy. I once was yelled at by a yogurt land manager in Orange County for eating out of my cup before paying. To be fair, I did eat a kiwi piece. But in my defense, she had me wait 16 minutes in an empty store before ringing me up. Hello?! However, my experience at this yogurtland was great. They even have guava pineapple tart. Ok I love yogurtland and have been to many locations, but the fact that this one refuses to get Reese's peanut butter cups is a total buzzkill! Although they have great flavors options, they need to step it up on the toppings. Everyone knows the cups are way better than the Reese's pieces, I just don't get it. I love love frozen yogurt. This place was clean , cashier was friendly and professional. They had few new flavors that I enjoyed.

Still has the brand-spanking new smell. This is one of the few Yogurtlands that I've noticed with some slight changes in its decor. For example, the famous pink/green spoons are nicely placed as door handles. The yogurt machine handles are more of a white teardrop handle, rather than the standard T-shaped metal ones. Also, LOVED the fact the fruit comes before the sweets, so it makes it seem more healthy to pile on the fruit on the bottom with the yogurt instead of trying to dig through the layer of fruit and sweets in order to get to the yogurt. It's still a fairly new place, and I do like the location of it, considering there's a lot of foot traffic on Lake. However, not too sure if many people know about this branch, since it's kind of tuck away and blends with everything in the plaza. Just remember it's next to the Coffee Bean, and you'll be a-okay! And probably will be the branch I will be going to more often, at least if I'm too lazy to make the drive down to Little Tokyo and fight for parking. Do note, the parking structure where Borders used to be covers the entire plaza, and it's two hours free. Granted, I don't think people really check if you stay there for two hours.. read more
