I love it when unassuming hole-in-the-wall type of places turn out to be amazing. I really wouldn't have noticed this place even if I passed by it 100 times. But both the food and the service were top notch. We got the donkatsu and udon combo and a pizza katsu. Before they bring out your food, they give you a little bowl of sesame seeds and a mini muddler so you can grind your own sesame paste for the katsu sauce. How fun! The katsu itself is thin and crunchy. The melty cheese on the pizza katsu adds even more flavor. I've been going to this Katsu restaurant for a while! They are affordable and offer a variety of different types of katsu's to choose from. It is a decent size meal so you will definitely be full from one entree. They offer meals that come with soba noodles, udon with soup, or rolls of sushi however the katsu itself is pretty filling already. The restaurant can get pretty busy during weekends and dinner time so if you plan to order ahead for pick up make sure to permit 20-30 minutes, as for dine in they can have a wait depending on the day. Highly recommend trying out this place if you are in the area! Solid Korean/Japanese curry spot. They turn brakes pretty quickly so even though you expect a wait on the weekends it wasn't too bad. Even our toddlers had the patience to wait it out and they never have patience. The food was good but the quality of the katsu was good not great. We have a toddler who is obsessed with Japanese curry so it's literally on rotation for lunch and dinner for the family. Crunch roll was fine and the curry was kinda too water-y for our liking. It was my first time coming here and wow the food was good. Heads up: If you're hungry but not starving don't order the donkatsu combo which includes an order of donkatsu, udon, soba, california roll, crunch roll, or god I can't remember the last one but there's side orders with the donkatsu for about $15. However, this price varies if you're like me and prefer cheese donkatsu over anything else on the menu. I will say though, one thing that ticked me off a bit was that the inclusion of cheese donkatsu on the combo meal costs $2 extra which seems odd but i guess since cheese costs a bit more? Another thing that confused me was how an extra order of soba noodles (just the noodles) was $4!! They give you an overwhelming amount of soup with a small handful of noodles. With ever donkatsu meal whether that's combo or not, comes a fried potato ball and shrimp tempura which i thought was so worth it! I think it would've been nice if they had desserts on their menu but that's just my sweet tooth talkin Now onto service, I'm not sure what the guy's name was but he looked to be around 17? He was so brisk and observant about everything around him. He speaks both Korean and English so he had no trouble with customers. At the time, he was taking over all of the tables in the restaurant as well as cleaning the tables too. Meanwhile, his coworker, who seems to be the manager, was staying mostly with the cashier and greeting guests as they entered and left the restaurant. I was craving katsu one weekend, and this place showed up on Yelp, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did because it surely hit the spot! The katsu sauce was different than other katsu sauces I've had before. They give you a little bowl to grind up sesame seeds yourself, and when the dish comes, then they pour the sauce into the bowl. We wanted to get asian food after a long drive down from sf. This place isn't located right off the 5 freeway and took us a few minutes to get here. Located in the rite aid plaza. When we got there we had to wait since it was fairly crowded inside. Once we got seated, we ordered a katsu combo with soba and for the other people in our group they order katsu with Udon. If you order anything with katsu they will give you sesame seeds and you can crush them yourself. They will also provide a sauce. Also for the katsu dishes it comes with cabbage salad and some side dishes. (I wish they provided a small dish with more choices of banchan) The reason I like this place is the dipping sauce for the katsu is so good. And the combo katsu with Udon /soba is so much food it can feed two people. So technically you're paying like 7 bucks a person if you get combo.... read more

First, we got there at 9PM and they rushed us to finish because they said they were closing but we saw on Yelp it said they close at 10PM on Wednesday. I cant believe I have recommended this place to all my friends but still haven't written a review for this place. I was first introduced to this place by one of my classmates and I haven't looked back since. It is stuck away in Buena Park near Knotts Berry Farm. They are open during the pandemic and has indoor seating. The staff are so cute, friendly, and nice. I love their Donkatsu combo which you can pair with sushi rolls, udon, soba noodles. I have gotten it with the crunch roll and the udon on separate occasions and both options are delicious. We were searching for a new place to try in Buena Park and this place popped up. Their menu offered many selections for the whole family. We got the deep fried pork combo with a bowl of udon. My son got the deep fried chicken plate with salad. It also came with miso soup. We also got a side order or spicy tuna and it came with miso soup too. I just like my cheese and kimchi. They also serve barley tea (which is the best!) I never really drink a lot of water when I eat here because the tea is so strong and enjoyable to drink. I really like this place! The portions are big and the combo is 14$. I love the pickled jalepenos! I usually get the Donkasu combo with soba. The portion is too big to finish all the katsu but it's still really good the next day. The soba is good they use chewy noodles compared to other restaurants, but it's not a bad thing. It's really light and delicious with the daikon in the dipping sauce. My favorite part is the sauce. I think ground sesame seeds with the sauce really changes the whole flavor and makes this katsu even better. I go out of my way to come here and it's a must try! Comes with ban chan and a miso soup. Curry Donkatsu: the dish comes with a pork cutlet, pickled salad, potato croquette and a battered shrimp. The curry flavor was pretty subtle, but gets the job done. In my opinion it wasn't spicy (in-case some are worried). It's so good to be back inside for dining at Yoko after a year + of take-out option only. Take out is great, but there's nothing like enjoying the crispy, tender katsu cutlet fresh and hot. We did miss being able to grind our own sesame seeds for the katsu sauce (which adds a nice nutty flavor) so we hope it returns again in the future. Restaurant is requiring that all guests wear mask and hand sanitizer is available on all tables as of today, 7/3/21. All staff wear masks. Note: Two individuals were managing the phones, dine-in patrons, and all the take out orders when we visited today. They were so busy and we still got such efficient, speedy, and friendly service. Delicious katsu at a great price! I hear this place gets very busy. I came for lunch on a weekday and was able to get a table promptly, but most of the tables were taken already. Service is typical of any Asian restaurant. I tried the donkatsu combo with soba. The portion size is very large. I don't think most people can finish it. They give you sesame seeds to grind (you can smell it!) then they pour the donkatsu sauce over it. Comes with a salad and shrimp tempera as well. The donkatsu is nice and crispy. But as it gets cold, it gets a bit dry. The soba noodles were cooked well, not too soggy. They give you radish to put into the dipping sauce so you can adjust to your preference. The portions of everything is so large, be prepared to take some home. I would glady come back and try more food. I went to sunny hills highschool and this place was my instructor for yearbook's favorite place to eat late nights; very humble staff and very diligent. the "panchan" is really great also, the kimchi is one of my favorite parts. My family love this place. But, Yesterday, a very large fly came out of the udon soup. When I scooped up the soup with a spoon, the fly seemed to be already wet, so it didn't seem like it was coming out right away. When we called the staff and showed it to them, they took it and said they would not accept any money for this food. I told her that this is our favorite restaurant and please tell the owner to improve the cleanliness issues. However, she said that even when she told the boss, he did not pay much attention and that it was difficult because the number of employees was reduced. It wasn't the answer we expected. I hope the owner of this restaurant reads this review. If something like this had happened in Korea, the restaurant would have been shut down or it would have been on the news.
