Would have been a full 5 stars if the staff had been more welcoming. I walked up to the counter to place my order and wasn't greeted or even acknowledged with a simple "I'll be right with you." I stood there for about five minutes feeling completely ignored. When the staff member finally came to the counter, she just stood there silently. After I placed my order, she gave me the total and simply yelled, "One tteokbokki!" to the kitchen. I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for my food. During that time, nobody checked on me or gave me an update on the status of my order. Had I known the tteokbokki would take that long, I probably would have skipped it and just ordered kimbap. While waiting, I observed her interact with several other customers, including an older woman who had a few questions about the menu. Unfortunately, the staff member--who appeared to be the owner's daughter--seemed irritated and impatient. The interaction was uncomfortable enough that another customer stepped in to help the woman understand the menu. Customer service was definitely lacking. As for the food, I ordered three kimbap rolls and one tteokbokki, totaling around $40. The kimbap was fresh and tasted great. The tteokbokki had good flavor, but the portion was surprisingly small. It came with only about eight rice cakes, a few pieces of fish cake, and one egg. The rice cakes were also overcooked and lacked the chewy texture I was expecting. Overall, they offer a good variety of kimbap options, ranging from about $5 to $11, and the food itself was decent. However, the unwelcoming atmosphere really affected the experience. Maybe the staff member was having a rough day, but customers shouldn't feel the impact of that. I might give it a second chance, but I'm definitely on the fence. read more

I never go to a party empty handed and everyone loves kimbap...or everyone in my family does lol We were headed to my cousins for a game night and stop a hmart across the street for snacks and drinks. I am soooo happy i did not get kimbap there because it looks sad and old. We came around 3pm so they did not have their whole menu available, but we got a good variety of options. We got family, Tuna, Spicy Pork, and Burdock Root. Everything we got was delicious and a total crowd pleaser! Service was quick and the restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. I would recommend coming for yourself or catering your next party. I know i'll be back to try the spam kimbap! read more

Came by this place to grab some spam masubi and kimbap before heading into disney. Its such a hidden gem and the masubi was so flavored and different than your regular spam masubi as long as the other kimbap! The owner of the place was very kind and even packed our soup nice and neatly! The atmosphere of the place feels familiar such as home comfort. Definitely will come back again! read more

I usually do not write reviews, but I had to. I was really craving for kimbap and I've been wanting to visit this place which was near a Korean market. When I came in, there was no greeting. The lady at the front desk stared at me without saying anything. The kimbap were kind of pricey (ranging from $6-12) but I went and ordered it. Also, I ordered assorted tempura. I asked for " to go." The kimbap was okay, but the portion of the assorted tempura was very dissapointing. The assorted tempura was $12. I've been to many other places including Korean markets, but when I saw the portion for the assorted tempura, I lost my words. If you want to try kimbap, they do have different kinds. It was well balanced with sesame oil and salt, not overly salty or saucy. Would definitely order that again. The tteokbokki was fairly spicy and very tasty; I'd want cheese added to mellow some of the heat. Kimchi fried rice with spam was standard but satisfying. The original fried chicken was juicy and flavorful, though the flour-based coating wasn't as crunchy as I prefer. I would skip. Minimal amount of seating, but this seems like a to go lunch order spot. Cashier was very friendly and juggling packing to go orders. A grab and go eatery that just opened a few weeks ago in Buena Park that sells spam musbubi, a variety of kimbaps, and a few entrees like fried rice, kalguksu, and tteokbokki. The musubis and kimbap are premade and packaged in saran wrap/little takeout trays for easy takeout (think musubi cafes in Hawaii or the hot food section in Korean markets). I grabbed a bulgogi kimbap, a spicy pork one ($10 each), and a spam and egg musubi ($4.50). The kimbaps were well constructed with a perfectly thin layer of rice just as a Korean mom would make it. My son devoured the musubi before I could try any so I assume it was good. They also offered a complimentary container of fish cake soup, which was very cozy. The 2 ladies who ran the shop were very friendly even though I didn't speak a lick Korean. Despite its modern interior, the whole place gives very neighborhood corner store vibes. And it's open early (6 AM), so it's a great option to pick up food for the day for those who work early! read more

It's really nice that they've been giving out the fish cake soup included with the kimbap as I have never seen this with other kimbap and banchan places. I picked up the family kimbap, and it was absolutely what I was craving: something yummy, not too heavy, and relatively healthy. The flavors were delish, and it has such an amazing "homemade" flavor. The price and convenience cannot be better, and the extra soup on the side was a nice touch. In guess restaurant owners believe kimbap is easy Korean dish to make along with odang and ttokbokki. How wrong they are, odang soup was warterly and quality of odang, cheap. Ttokbokki was all soggy without any flavor. Top it all, instead kimbap ingredients being balance, amount of anchovy made salty that overwhelmed other ingredients. My favorite is the spicy fishcake because it has a good kick, however, the spicy pork is on the sweeter side.
