Yolanda's offers consistently good Mexican food with great service. My go to is usually the chicken fajitas, which are really tasty (maybe a little light on the chicken). My friends ordered Arroz Con Pollo and a Steak Quesadilla. The steak quesadilla was good but the arroz con pollo was really flavorful, and satisfying. After along shopping day; had to look at Yelp for help for somewhere to eat. Since I live over an hour away. And so happy that I came across this location. The one thing I really like about this place is that everyone here had amazing customer service. That won me over haha the food was delicious. I got my son a kids meal. Wow what a good amount of food; he enjoyed it didn't finished it so we took it home. I like my little plate with different things. The only thing I didn't like were the beef taco things. ( forgot what they called ) the reason I am Giving this place 4 stars has to be the chips and salsa didn't taste well and the Virgin margarita I order Omgee was a waste. Didn't finished it ! First I would like to say the service was not bad. But now it gets real. Took my daughter, her boyfriend and a friend for lunch today, for my daughter's birthday. We happen to be shopping at the outlets. First they say they have top quality margaritas which happens to be false. They are pre maid a head of time so you don't actually get that fresh margarita taste and there is almost no trace of Tequila at all. Second my friend found a hair In her food, a white 1. Manager Roberto came over to our table and actually pulled it out of the meal, didn't apologize at all, sent us our bill with only the meal taken off. I told him that I felt his actions were not justified by just taking that off the bill, he didn't even apologize, but he came back to our table and said no one in the back has white hair. So is he implying that we stuck it there, because no one in our party of 4 has white hair. He should have said I am sorry for what happened and your drinks are on me as well. The meal that the hair was found in will be taken off, or here's a gift card if you want to come back, no he did nothing. I will never, ever go back to a place that doesn't apologize nor try to make it right. We couldn't even finish our food nor did we want to take it home with us. I felt bad for the server she was great and so was her staff. But Roberto is awful, horrible customer service, he needs to be trained properly and the owners need to wake up. Otherwise they will go out of business. I will follow up with a phone call to the owners. People go out to eat because they want to have good food and good service. Mistakes happen, I am ok with that, as long as they make it right and in this case it was done with pour Intent and they lost our business for good. I do not recommend this place at all. Taco Bell is across the street might have been a better choice. Not to mention they are way over priced for not really being authentic Mexican food as well. read more

So...the food and drinks are great ..Just avoid being waited on by 1 person in particular..Michelle....I have been waited on twice by her and both times have been terrible service. She always seems very bothered to be working and has gotten the order for our table wrong everytime and then wants to make excuses as to why she got it wrong. I hope management fixes this issue. We stopped here for lunch on the way to Sequoia. The food was so good! We had the burrito aburrido (because bean and cheese is so boring! Cute ), chicken enchilada with really good, not mystery parts chicken, taco trio, the al pastors was particularly delicious and a carne asada burrito. The ambiance/decor is cheery, service was very attentive. The food did take a while to come, but that was the only drawback. It didn't matter to us because we weren't in a hurry, but you may not want to go if you're on a tight schedule. That's why I put 4 stars, but I'd like an option between 4 and 5. Apart from that small thing, I definitely recommend. Even the chips and salsa were extra good. Oh and we also had the ezquite which was delicious. I was craving some Mexican food, most restaurants were already closed by the time I wanted food so my boyfriend and I tried Yolanda's out. It should have been a red flag when my bf called to place a takeout order and the girl on the phone didn't even know what my bf's food came with. He had to tell her he wanted a side of salad since the menu states it came w/ a soup or salad in which she said "ohhh right, yes it does" I ordered the steak & shrimp fajitas to go. When I got home and opened up the take-out bag, to my surprise I got no guacamole or refried beans which according to the menu on their website was supposed to come with. I love guacamole and finding out I got none is a definite turn off. All I got to eat was fajitas, salsa and tortillas.. :/ (the white sauce is my bf's ranch not sour cream) The shrimp was good, but the steak was stringy, chewy and fatty. Will not be back. We stopped in on Sunday afternoon while on the Camarillo Hospice Garden Tour. With the uncertain weather, one of the houses had cancelled, so we had extra time. Dear Hubby suggested guacamole and chips, and maybe street tacos to tide us over till dinner later. It was fairly quiet when we went in at 1:00. We decided to sit at the bar. The NBA playoffs were on, as a bonus. I ordered a virgin peach margarita, which was tall and frothy. Probably no real peaches came within a mile of the beverage, but it was still refreshing. The guacamole, while appearing freshly made, provided more calories than taste. There was no discernable flavor at all. Didn't pick up a hint of lemon, or onion, or tomato, let alone avocado. Very, very bland. The bartender who took care of us was very professional and prompt to take / fill our orders. He informed us that they don't do small street tacos. I don't think they do tacos a la carte, either. We didn't want a whole taco platter, so we ordered the appetizer sampler platter instead. We passed on the jalapeno poppers that come with it, and they substituted another couple wedges of quesadilla. Again, more filling than flavorful. Food to get you through the day, versus make your tastebuds sing. My take on Yolanda's is that you get tried and true, old-style Americanized Mexican food, without benefit of some of the trends in the newer variety of Mexican cuisine. It's also probably loaded with calories. A safe choice, but not an exciting one. The decor is also old-school, with lots of color and tilework. That part works for me; the charm factor is on point for this style of restaurant. They have an outdoor patio for warmer days. Parking was tough on a Sunday when the breakfast restaurant nearby was still serving. read more

This restaurant has been a family favorite. We drive all the way from Tarzana to come eat at this restaurant. Tonight my son asked for Yolanda so we made the drive. It took us 45 minutes to get there. We arrived and put his order in right away. It was busy, but not busy enough to wear. We thought we were going to get such horrible service. The waitress took about 15 minutes to show up with water. Once we ordered our food, all the food came out the same time the hamburger patties that we ordered for our son was raw. By the time I tried to get the waitress attention another 15 minutes had gone by now all our food was cold trying to get him not to eat the raw burgers After all that we just packed up our food because it was cold by that time we asked for our check and told her about our complaints with the food. She said well he ate some... At that moment I just asked for the bill we paid and left. I've been coming to this restaurant for many years. This is the first time I left so upset with the service we received. Sometimes you can have an off night. But this waitress I've never seen before and was the rudest person I have ever encountered in a long time. I'm just hoping my son is not sick from consuming even a little bit of the raw hamburgers we had tonight. Not to mention our vegetable fajitas we specifically said no squash to sub it out for more broccoli. But yet our food was full of squash and hardly any broccoli. This is near where my mother in-law lives. She LOVES this place, so we tend to pick it up when we visit her. Truth be told, food is solid and their pick-up process is on point. They also server 2-go margaritas, so it's tough to argue. I recently had the beef burrito of some sort, it was fresh and delicious, it was also huge, so I could not finish it... it was breakfast the next day. Food here has slid down a slippery slope into awful. It's been declining for years but I'm pretty sure I had my last meal from there Sunday, Jan 22, 2023. Ordered takeout. 2 of our meals were missing beans and rice originally until my son caught that. My meal, California plate with shrimp was disgusting. Veggies were overcooked. The 3 avocado slices on top were rotten, brown throughout. Rice, mushy. Tasted at least two (going bad) shrimps. I actually threw most of it in the trash. Sad. Way overpriced. We spent well over $100 this last trip for 3 people and we all left disappointed. Over the years I've tried many of their dishes and they are very disappointing. Do not get the tamales, those were probably the worse. Tasted old, soggy and had no flavor. The beans are okay. I do like their salsa bar when it's open - lots of choices. The salsa bar alone bumped up my rating by one star. I've been to all the the Yolanda's in the area and I've always experienced the same thing with the food and service. The food is boring, lacks flavor and does not taste fresh. They charge for every tiny thing (adding lettuce to a single taco cost me $2.50). The camarillo location does not offer happy hour - the ventura and oxnard one do. I feel this restaurant is overrated and there's way too many other gems in the area to settle for mediocre, expensive food. read more

Yolanda's is one of those places that appeases the locals. It's faaaaaar from authentic but it has its perks. I'm sure this place goes through pounds of cheese a day so maybe ask for 'light cheese' unless that's your thing. The Albondigas soup is consistently very good, albeit too salty at times and the bean dip is amazing. I usually go for the taco dinner but try to change things up once in a while. Like I said before, ask for light cheese or your beans will be a molten lava cheese brick. PS - The chicken flautas are horrible so stay away from those, more wet chimichanga than flauta. read more

I've been to all the Yolanda's locations and while some might have better ambiance / views, hands down the one in Camarillo has the best food. We went to dinner on a busy-ish Friday night and were seated immediately in a little booth for 2. The booth was roomy and comfortable which was a plus - nice not being squeezed into a tiny booth or seated at a 4-top table. We had the best service from Yuli - who kept our warm (fresh) chips coming and served us with a smile. I had a blood orange margarita with a Tajin rim that was SO good. It's hard to go wrong with their food - it's all good - but I'm a sucker for their flautas. Something about the food this time though - far better than what I've had at their other locations. The chicken was moist and the dish just a little more flavorful than I've had at the other locations. This location is actually closer to our house and I'd never been to this one before / but we'll certainly be back! Thanks for another awesome dinner. read more

Yikes! Things have changed. Parent had a taste for tostada and she was highly disappointed. She hated doing it but she didn't eat it as she mentioned the lettuce, cheese and was surprised by seeing white beans. She mentioned that it really didn't have any flavor and so she ended up tossing it out. I felt really bad as It's been awhile since I had Yolanda's and I figure the one in Camarillo was far better than the one on Victoria as we both had a bad experience at that one. Yolanda's is one of the better Mexican restaurants in camarillo. Seems to be a favorite because whenever we come it's packed! Always a good sign in my books. The staff is always great! No matter how busy they are I always feel like we are being checked up on & the food always comes out super fast. The waiters always have a great attitude & are always super accommodating. Love their bartenders, they know how to make a good drink! Great prices on beers & I love all their fruit margaritas, they aren't very visually appealing but great flavor! The food has always been great. Haven't found a thing here that we didn't love. Great appetizers, soups, salads, quesadillas you name it it's tasty. I initially came here yesterday just before it closed. I asked if I could order something to go. The hostess said I could or even have a seat if I wanted. I did not want to inconvenience them so I ordered take out. I ordered a Burrito Ranchero with Chile Verde. Simple enough, right? I got my food quickly and took it back to my hotel. Lo and behold, it was not Chile verde. I got ground beef instead. I was kind of upset but I get it was almost closing time so the kitchen might have been in a rush. I called the restaurant back and told them what happened. The manager, Daisy, offered to give me a refund because the restaurant was closed or I could come in the next day and get the item I wanted. I just wanted my burrito so I went the next day. I spoke to Roberto, who took care of my meal, no questions asked. Needless to say, it was good. I also ordered a few michelada ms which were amazing. Overall, I enjoyed the food and drinks. Mistakes happen but they made it right. read more
