Just in recently, and had the misfortune of listening to the screams of some ladies leather lunged kid, who was also biting its adult keeper. Consider yourselves warned. Also, Yola's needs signs placed around to remind customers to please pick up there dishes & place them in the bins against the wall when they are through. Once you meet the owners, you know why this place is so popular. The staff is great, the food and drinks are great for a coffeehouse. Their Wifi is better most coffee houses in Madison. If you are in social networking, this is a great place to network. Prices are matched to other places. Their front patio allows you to sit outside and enjoy a mid-morning cup. Kinda pricey, not so good. Long wait for an order I called in - my dog was freaking out in the car. I think they were training staff, perhaps it's improved but they got my sandwhich wrong and it wasn't very good for how expensive it was. Same with the latte. It was aweful and cost almost $6. Parking was a joke, someone almost hit me trying to find a space to run in. From the menu I wanted to like this place more than I did but it turned out to not be a good experience and I felt ripped off and let down. read more

Delicious Coffee and Waffles! I love stopping in Yola's after working out at the Princeton Club. They have really good iced coffee and the place always smells so good. Once in a while I'll get a waffle, but you have to make sure you have a lot of time because if you order a waffle or speciality coffee it takes a while for them to prepare it. read more

Yolas is an example of why we moved from Chicago to Madison! The owners are behind the counter, friendly. The Waffles are their specialty, get them a la mode! We bring our 2 year old to "Waffles with Santa" their annual community Christmas event. Having "Liked" their facebook page, I can see they do a number of events like this. Free Wifi is handy, but they also have a computer I can use if I forget my laptop. The kid's play area is always clean which is huge for us. The roast beef sandwich has a horseradish mayo and caramelized onions, my fave. We have a small business and have had them do some catering which was a pretty inexpensive way to go and Lance was able to customize it to our needs. He has an old fashion cappuccino machine to bring to fancier events. Pretty happy to have found "our" community cafe/coffee house. read more

Had hire expectations...i think the independent feel of is good. The coffee was not pressed it was just drip coffee. The food menu seemed good but the results were ehh. Pricey for mediocre food. What a hidden gem! My friend and I stopped for lunch and when presented with all of their menu items, it was truly difficult to settle on one thing. I chose the Big Fat Greek wrap and my friend chose the apple almond crunch salad. Everything was organic, fresh and delicious. Their homemade chips were great as well. I went there a few times and wont go back anymore. This place is beyond awful. I ordered waffle and waited till it gets ready. Then I asked for extra topping, The lady behind the register became very mad and rude and said I have to pay extra. (only one quarter!) To be honest the food is not good. This cafe is quaint and has a lot of locally sourced and organic food. Paying extra for items like peanut butter doesn't wow me since it is not local nor organic, but prices are fair and the atmosphere is relaxing for a slow morning. read more

I was on my way to work and didn't have much time to grab a quick coffee and I knew how crowded "you-know-where" can be this time of day. I also remembered having some tasty coffee and scones at an event catered by Yola's so I decided to stop in. One of my friends in college would bring me scones made by her English grandmother and the scones at Yola's are just as good (dare I say better?) than grandma's! Repost from Google Review: My friend wants to call the food bland. I wouldn't quick go that far, but it is definitely underwhelming. The meal I got was just a single step above what I could have gotten from a grocery store freezer, but at about ten times the price. They bring your order to the table, but you have to find your own silverware and other amenities and you clean up yourself when you are done. They also can't seem to work a blender correctly. All in all, not worth the $50 I spent here. Will not return. Edits and Additions: My visit to this place was about three days ago. While it wasn't the worst place I've ever been (that's reserved for Monk's Bar and Grill), I have no plan on going back. Things not mentioned the first time: Silverware was nowhere to be found. Apparently you have to get it yourself, but even then the location was not easily accessible. Ended up eating my waffle with my hands instead of a fork, and the only reason I had a spoon was because I waited at the counter for ten minutes to talk with someone. The smoothies they make taste good, but DEAR GODS the staff don't know how to use a blender. Huge chunks of ice left behind. Also, one of the smoothies had the consistency of concrete rather than a blended DRINK. As far as the waffles go, the base mix they use is good. However, apparently it counts as a 'chocolate chip waffle' if it has five chips of bakers chocolate in it. Very disappointing. Last comment on the food: the 'loaded' breakfast burrito is cheese, eggs, potatoes and bacon. The bacon was so small and so sparsely used it might as well not have been there, while there was about three hunks of potato sitting on one end of the burrito. The rest of burrito was egg and poorly melted cheese. Upon inspection of their reviews on other sites, it seems the owners do not take criticism well. They have a tendency of becoming snappy and sarcastic with people who've had problems, or they just outright call critics liars/insist they don't actually exist. Maybe if management can get their act together I'll give this place a second shot. However, for now, they get a 1.25/5 stars. read more

Decor is cute but it doesn't go together at all and although i'm sure they are doing that on purpose and going for a charming/quaint look it really isn't working. I had a black coffee and plain waffle. Waffle was amazing (of course:)) and delivered very promptly. Coffee wasn't freshly brewed and the canister of the medium roast was out (and i didn't want to wait for them to fill it) so i just got the dark roast. It was decent but not great coffee. There was an assorted group of people at 10am on a weekday--moms with their kids, businessmen having a meeting, a guy meeting his contractor, and the hippy college kid. It was a fun crowd. If im in the area and really needing caffeine i might be back but no special trips out here. read more

I tried this place and I will never return and won't even recommend it. The food was "OK" nothing special about it. The place seems cozy, maybe that's why it is deceiving. In my opinion the price doesn't seem reasonable. The customer service is beyond awful. (read the negative reviews). They tried to overcharge me for my order. Me and the better half stopped in yesterday to Yolas since we had heard so much about it. Its a cute little place, with a surprisingly large and creative kids area, as well as an area for adults. Both of us ordered breakfast sandwiches, and I also ordered a Shakeology (tasty chocolate, peanut-butter, espresso, and banana). All was quite tasty. We were serviced by a very polite, polite, and helpful young man (Alex?). Or visit was short, but tasty and memorable and we will be back. Its comfortable and wasn't to packed so I was able to just eat and chill. Kinda wishing I would've order a few pastries to go. The decor is nice. The salad was beautifully described as mixed organic field greens with feta and toasted almonds etc. I would have laughed at how far below the description the salad fell had it not been so pricey.
