Yoli was the best dinner we had in Bend! The first night we walked in, we were silly thinking we'd get a table. This is 'reservation only' on an evening (especially on the weekends) and for good reason. What a fantastic Korean restaurant with top notch food, great service, and nice vibe for a special meal. I ordered the Tteok Bokki as a starter which was enough to satisfy 3 adults easily. The main course was a generously sized Bibimbap served hot and fresh. I had a full meal of leftovers. So...we came hear with really high hopes since there aren't enough Asian restaurants in Bend. But alas, we were beyond disappointed. Our whole table ordered the 5 course menu so we could taste a little bit of everything. It is a bit pricey but thought it would be an exciting adventure. But boy were we wrong! The presentation was nice but the flavors were sooo off. It was definitely NOT Korean food. Almost every dish was loaded with too much sugar, with the true Korean flavors being undetectable. The raw fish appetizers were not bad, the spicy salmon tasted pretty good and the kimchi Jun was decent. The cheesy corn was not right...they used cheddar cheese instead of the traditional mozzarella, making it too sour and sharp. The kimchi jigae was more like watered down miso soup with a couple bits of kimchi, the japchae was soupy and again, too sweet. The first bites of the cauliflower was good but quickly got too rich bc again, it was way too sweet. We got the bibimbap, samgyeopsal (pork belly), galbi, and bulgogi. I agree with the other reviews that the Bibimbap was good, but it was definitely not 'authentic Korean.' The pork belly was not cooked properly --the flavor and texture of the the fat was not right. The bulgogi was decent, but again too sweet. The flavors were not complex, just sugary. Also the dishes were called ssam which means the lettuce is the main way to eat it, but the lettuce leaves were limp and wilted. As far as the dessert was concerned, the hotteok was not anything like the real Korean pastry, just greasy over-fried pieces of dough with a sauce made with some stringy vegetables. While we understand that this restaurant is trying to focus on being "unique and innovative" it falls short of being considered Korean cuisine. Maybe it would be better if they called it fusion cuisine so as not to mislead customers into thinking they're getting traditional Korean food? The thing that topped it off was 2 out 4 of us got sick, and ended up vomiting as soon as we got home. The reason we give it 2 stars is bc of the nice decor, ambiance, and service. read more

well it could've been good but, I would NEVER order the steak again. I ordered it last night and ended up putting at least half of the attempted chewed up chunks back on my plate. Not sure if the cooks have ever been to a real Korean restaurant, but aside from using Korean ingredients, this is not authentic Korean cuisine, which is 95% different and so much better/different. I'm SUPER glad bend is expanding its Asian options. However, as someone who eats fairly authentic Korean food at least once a week, this place was fairly hit was miss -- but would recommend if you're craving Asian food when passing/visiting central Oregon. Vibes: 5/5 - clean, modern, and super cute ceramics! Kimchi bread and butter: 4.5/5. One of our favorites. Nice soft bread and super yummy kimchi butter. We didn't like the sesame butter though - it was too vegetal with underbites of bitterness Kimchi pancake (jeon) - 5/5 probably my favorite for the night Kimchi jiggae - 3/5; this was essentially Miso soup with some kimchi. I didn't mind it, but it's not the hot steaming jiggae that I'm usually used to. Seems like if you have kimchi and miso you can make this soup fairly easily Teok bukki (spicy rice cakes) - 4/5. I enjoyed this but the sauce was definitely too gochujong forward and lacked the sweetness. Also no fish cakes which is my favorite part of this dish generally Ssam - 4/5 we got the kalbi ssam, would recommend, although I didn't love the seaweed wrap. Still very enjoyable though Gnocchi - 2/5, this dish was pretty bad :/ I don't know what happened but I didn't realize "gnocchi" was the Korean rice cakes. The sauce with the eggplant tasted good but when you add rice cake to the mix it ruined it. I'm not sure if this dish is there to suit the western palate or something but the sauce tasted like a mediocre pan Asian sauce. Dessert hoddeuk - 2/5, I also didn't enjoy it. This was whipped cream, over fried dough, and cinnamon poached pear. The over fried texture (hard$ of the dough didn't really go with the goeyness of the fruit. Flavor was okay, although I'm fairly biased and don't think cinnamon flavored fruit should be in most Asian dishes haha. But I know that's my personal bias read more

Yoli is always one of our top 5 restaurants we recommend when dining out in Bend. There's nothing we've had that hasn't been short of spectacular, but particularly recommend the Fried Cauliflower, Fried Octopus, Kalbi Steak, and Bibimbap. Add a 54oz bottle of OB Pilsner and you're walking out full for under $100 for two. The service is always superb as well. So happy to have them still in Bend! read more

I had the ssam with kalabi and it was incredibly good, tons of flavor exploding in my mouth, my sister had the bib Im bap which was also really good. The service here is excellent and it is also reasonably priced, I would definitely recommend this, oh, and try the Korean apple soda, it was delicious. read more

We ordered the cauliflower, ddukbokki, bibimbap, and grilled pork belly and everything was good, it just isn't the authentic Korean experience I was hoping for. This is an Asian-style bistro, not a Korean restaurant. The miniature lunch serving of bulgogi was sickly sweet and overly salty at the same time. The kimchee tofu soup used too-fresh kimchee and no tofu. The spicy chicken burger was tasty but not particularly Korean. Prices are very reasonable. Service was fine. Crazy we live in Bend and have never heard of this place. My parents from the valley came over to treat me for a bday lunch. Classy and quaint inside. Windows are filmed over, so you won't be able to see inside/outside. Customer service is top notch! They accommodated my no seafood/fish oil request (above and beyond) even bringing me a sample of vegetarian kimchi. Food was quality (all freshly made), and the price for the food and beverages was surprisingly not bad at all considering location and inflation! Coffee here is amazing. The fried cauliflower is a must order! I ordered bulgogi lettuce wraps, it was so good. It came with red leaf lettuce. Would be even better with a crispier type like romaine, iceberg or living butter lettuce as it holds more of the filling. We are so happy to see a new cuisine option in Bend. Yoli is a cool hip and trendy newer Bend restaurant. It's sometimes hard to get a seat as it's still fairly popular and doesn't have a lot of seating. It's definitely on the pricier side but let's be honest it's Bend in 2023. We pay a premium for everything here even if it isn't good. Yoli has a fun and creative menu with excellent service considering the staff shortages that everyone is having. We will definitely be back for a "special" date night as we really enjoy the experience they provide. If it's traditional Korean food your looking for I'd call this more of a playful fusion so set your expectations and hopefully you'll be pleasantly surprised. read more

What an amazing meal - the highest caliber food, fabulous service with the perfect tone of personal and professional, and it's all right downtown. Our group of 4 ordered the multi-course tasting menu (ridiculously well priced at $60pp) and as such we were able to sample almost the entire menu between our orders. This place came highly recommended from a friend of mine who owns restaurants. It did not disappoint. We had a fantastic meal for a family of 4 with teenaged kids. The bill came to $129 which ws a tremendous value based on the quality of the food and the experience. Our server was fantastic. Having just visited Seoul, South Korea, I thought it would be nice to see what they could offer for Korean cuisine. Needless to say, we were blown away by the incredible taste of Yoli. Wow. I never write reviews but I am writing this to express my love and appreciation for this fine restaurant. As diners three times over, from their opening to the present, every experience has been extremely memorable. The food is incredible, unique, and elevated - and the service? Impeccable. Last night my husband and I started off with cocktails: Ulsan Sour and Jujube Old Fashioned. Both hit the spot and were unique twists on the classics. For our starters, we enjoyed the Yukhoe, Caviar Ppang, and Mandu (a special dumpling offered that evening). The Caviar Ppang really stood out though all were tasty first bites. With perfect timing we were brought our mains, the Oli (duck breast) and the Ssam with Bulgogi. This is the best duck I've had in my life! Great flavor and absolutely amazing texture. Cooked to perfection! Highly recommend. The Ssam Bulgogi had a pleasant sweetness that paired perfectly with the banchan- our favorites were the three varying types of house made kimchee. We didn't have room for dessert this time but will definitely be back soon to explore their varied menu and the unique flavors only found at Yoli. Thank you to their amazing staff. Bend is lucky. A must try! Side note: the negative reviews I've seen mostly complain about the food not being "authentic Korean." Food was tasty. The food is more fusion vs traditional Korean food. If you've ever eaten Korean food in any of the major cities like NY, SF, HNL ect. don't expect Yoli to be the same/similar. The food was fantastic. We ate family style so we could sample everything. And everything was delicious. The Kalbi steak was tender. The pajeon was flavorful and fried with a crispy edge. And the banchan was crisp, cold and refreshing. The service is great at this tiny restaurant. Make sure you make a reservation. I don't have pictures because we dove in so quickly.
