What happened to this place. It used to be so good. The waitress had an attitude was in a rush. They were only a few people in the restaurant. I'm not sure what was the problem. She didn't want to do separate checks. We ordered nachos and they were cold. The taquitos were cold in the middle of them. They remade the nachos. It was so expensive. The ambiance was okay and the decor is cool. The food however, is overpriced ($22 for queso fundido, which was literally just cheese and slices of jalapeño- the meat was $5 extra)! On top of that the added gratuity is ridiculous. I can understand mandatory gratuity for large parties but I do have a problem when it's only a party of 4 and the customer service isn't even remotely friendly or helpful. Came by to check this place out with some coworkers. They had good reviews and I felt like having carne asada. The restaurant is off of Market St and it's a small little place. They have about 10-12 tables inside. The waitress was very friendly. It did get busy during lunch. Portion size was good but not consistent. My coworker and I ordered a burrito and mine was long and skinny while hers was short and fat. The carne asada in my burrito was not the traditional kind of meat I'm use to. It was more like shredded beef and the flavor wasn't my favorite. The meat seemed burnt. It had a very weird texture and taste. My meal was a burrito and drink and it came out to be $22! Yoli's is our favorite Mexican restaurant. We have come here several times and every dish I've tried is incredible. Last night I got the trio combination with a red cheese enchilada, potato taquito, and sope. It was delicious. The sope had a great texture and wasn't too thick. The potato taquito was seasoned perfectly and the red sauce on the enchilada was so savory and full of flavor. The service was so great and Norma always makes great recommendations. The drinks are also really good and they have so many options and sizes. The couple next to us had these beautiful fish bowl drinks that they said were really good as well. Firstly we waited over 10 mins to be acknowledged by staff that we were waiting to be seated. Then they rudely had us sit in the very front of the restaurant next to the door. We asked to have separate checks for a group of 4 and they said they couldn't at this time. (What??) Then they started to ask us every 10 mins if we' were ready to order. Giving us no chance to look over the menu. Then when we finally decided to get drinks, we get served drinks with ice that's already half way melted in them. Making the margaritas watered down. Mole was good but was not worth the incompetent service. Wouldn't recommend if you want to be rushed out while no one else is waiting to be seated. Yolis is EXACTLY what I envision if I ever open my own restaurant. Not only is it absolutely beautiful inside, the FOOOD is perfect. If I could give zero stars, I would. Our experience at Yoli's Mexican was beyond disappointing and honestly just a waste of money. First off, the service was atrocious. Our server was completely inattentive, barely checked on us, and never once asked how our food was. Instead of doing his job, he sat down with a plate of food and another co-worker, completely ignoring our table while we were waiting for refills or the chance to order more drinks. We literally had to get up and find someone else just to ask for our check because our server never bothered to come back. The restaurant itself? Way too dark, like they were trying to hide how bad the food looked. And speaking of the food--it was cold, flavorless, and disappointing. My agua fresca's Tajín rim was so insanely salty, it had more flavor than my entire meal. The Mexican candy shots? Basically sugar water. No kick, no balance, just straight-up overpriced juice. The biggest slap in the face? We came specifically for the airplane flights, something we saw all over their social media. We asked the server about it, and he told us they didn't have them yet and they'd be available next week. But minutes later, we watched another table right behind us get served those exact flights. Make it make sense. Oh, and the salsa portion? Two bites MAX. And they have the audacity to charge extra for chips and salsa like it's some rare delicacy. This place is a prime example of social media hype with zero substance. Overpriced, bad food, non-existent service, and an overall joke. WILL. NOT. BE. RETURNING. read more

Multiple times we said "thank you" to the two people (both the male and female) who were waiting on us and were met with literally no response. Every single time. We felt like we were an inconvenience there, or we were lucky they were serving us. My advice to the owner is train your staff to use customer service and practice politeness.
