The dish i tried was the shrimp burrito. The burrito was of a descent size. The flavor of the shrimp was really good. The balance was off with the beans. The beans overpowered the flavor of the shrimp. Sometimes it felt more like a bean burrito with shrimp than the other way around. I ordered two carne asada tacos and a three-taco plate with rice and beans, and unfortunately it was some of the worst food I've had in a long time. The meat tasted off, almost like it was old, and very oily, which made it hard to eat. While the rice was decent, everything else fell short, including the salsas, which lacked flavor and didn't compare to what you'd expect from other Mexican spots. Given that this is Riverside, where great Mexican food is easy to find, this experience was especially disappointing. This is one of my favorite lengua and tripa taco place when it was cooked by the right people. I wish the quality could be a bit more consistent and give them their full 5 star, but unfortunately some staff just couldn't made tripa as crispy and lengua could be soggy at times. Getting there is pretty easy. They are close to the 91 freeway, off Madison. They are in a strip mall with Grocery Outlet and few other stores. The parking lot is big with lots of parking. Fast and friendly service. Everything we tried was delicious. They have a salsa bar that has 3 or 4 different salsas, onions and cilantro, lemons, and radishes. I was craving menudo and decided to try this place out since it is close to my daughter's house. Great find! We arrived around 9am on a Saturday to an almost empty restaurant. It's located in a strip mall so plenty of parking. There are a couple of tables in front and about six - eight tables inside with two oversized booths nice for a big group. We were greeted immediately and went up to the counter to order. I thought the menudo was a really good price. Our food was brought out to us within about 15 minutes. They have a full condiments bar so you can help yourself to salsas, etc. My bowl of menudo wasn't huge but definitely a big enough serving for me. It needed a little salt, but I loved how clean the meat was. It is a pain to clean the tripe before cooking and a lot of people don't take that time. I really appreciated that at Tacos La Piedad, will definitely be back for it again. My husband ordered the birria plate which was good but no consommé. The tortas were also good and big (I prefer them without a bunch of fillings, like these, because they make everything too messy and fall out). My daughter in law got the chile rellenos and liked them. We also took a chicken quesadilla to go which was also good and came with onions, cilantro and sour cream in the container. I was heading into jersey Mike's when I noticed this place. I decided to try it out instead. I love Al Pastor and I feel like I'm always let down with dry pieces of meet that lack flavor. Well this place did not disappoint! Al Pastor tacos were delicious. I also ordered a couple asada tacos. Now listen, I wasn't a fan of them. They tasted more like ground beef to me. However, my taste buds are not your taste buds. So take it with a grain of salt and still give it a try. The gentleman who helped us was very friendly and patient considering we took a couple minutes to decided what we wanted. Restaurant was clean and ambiance was great. To quench our thirst we opted for Agua fresco de pepino. It was just as refreshing as it looked. Wanted to try this spot for a while and I finally went in and checked it out. It wasn't really that busy but there was people inside waiting for their food. I noticed the place was pretty clean. I ordered the mandatory Bean and Cheese burrito, I noticed it wasn't on the menu. It was $5.39. Not a bad price at all. I also order a quesabirria. The way they made the bean and cheese was different, the tortilla was warmed up first, then the cheese was melted on the flat grill and the beans were added afterwards. When I took the first bite it was really cheesy. The beans lacked salt and some flavor. The quesabirria lacked salt and flavor also. The consome was good.
