The mango bingsoo at Sweet Connection in San Bruno is seriously good. The shaved ice is super light and fluffy, and the fresh mango on top is sweet and juicy. The mango flavor really stands out without being overly sweet. Perfect dessert when you want something refreshing, especially on a warm day. Definitely worth trying if you're a mango fan! Cute little place with ample tables and choices of goodness. Shave ice is a bit steep ($10) for what it is. Even Matsumotos a tourist haven in Hawaii a plain large is less than $5. Staff are pleasant even on a slow rainy day we went in. Tables were all clean with a slow trickle of customers. Shave ice has some sugar free options to checkout. Another day of going at 1pm and the store is not open. It is a warm day and I walked around until 2pm in the area where there is nothing much. 2pm and it is still closed. If you open for your customer at 1pm, you should go there at 12:30. If you can't do that, change your open hours online is not difficult at all. Solid dessert spot! I'm so happy they're open on Mondays now, so my nephew gets a little sweet treat after his swim lessons. All the times we've been here, the staff is always friendly. They also have plenty of tables, making it a good place to hang out. read more

Their ice cream is good and they sell some interesting stuff here. My favorite to get is the bingsu - just be prepared to pay an arm and a leg. They have a spot in the back for parties, and even their front room is pretty spacious. The place could be cleaned a little more, but overall not bad to take your family for a late night snack. read more

I think they either remodeled the place and / or changed ownership. Went on a Sunday afternoon and the place looked different. They still serve Mango Bingsu although the price is now $15 for an order. Cheaper than most places while the ice is still fluffy and melts in your mouth. Fresh mango too! Best Mango Bingsu so far. Be aware that you have to pay for parking on Sundays... saw someone get a ticket as most cities don't require Sunday meter feeding. read more

Taking off one star because the hours seem to be wrong. Apple Maps says they close at 9 PM and the help listing says 10 PM, but I showed up at 8 PM and they were already closed, which was pretty disappointing. The ice cream is really delicious though! Great ice cream place when you don't want to travel all the way to Ghirardelli or the Mission to fight for a space just to get an ice cream cone. Plenty of fun flavors. They had some coconut rum flavor that was wow. In fact most of their flavors are wow. Including their Horchata. But, I got their Kauai Pie with coffee ice cream and macadamia nuts and fudge. Amazing! My coworker got the Thatch Roof sundae with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge with almonds. He enjoyed it, and was surprised that he hadn't been here before even though he works in San Bruno. Little gem tucked away in San Bruno. This spot has come in clutch when you're feeling like a sweet treat! They sell Lapperts ice cream which is always a plus IYKYK. Service is always great and has a super chill vibe to it! My roommate picked up a sundae and ube milkshake for us. I did not get to see inside the store, but I can verify that the food is very good! It's very tasty and I think this is definitely made for specific tastes. For example, it tastes like there's substantially less sugar, but still has really good flavour. It was so good that I did not stop to take a photo of the order lol. When I come next time, I'll upload a photo with this review! My only complaint is that we can't have it delivered, but it's worth getting the ice cream and milkshakes from this place!! read more

Loved this place! Friendly staff and yummy ice cream. We got the flight which included 4 of your choice flavors. We got the princess cake, banana chocolate chip, lychee and Kona coffee. The princess cake was my favorite, it had huge chunks of yellow cake. The Kona coffee was on the bitter side. The banana chocolate chip tasted like actual frozen bananas. This was my first time trying sweet connections and was honestly amazed at the wide variety of original ice cream flavors as well as the broad range of desserts they offer. Ayed the owner, was so kind and patient and very passionate and knowledgeable about the flavors. He was very welcoming and very attentive to all the customers that come in and their needs. We tried the princess cake ice cream, Kona coffee, Manila Mango, Hawaiian sea salt ( my personal favorite) and the Kauai coffee crunch. I ended up getting 3 pints of ice cream because they were all very delicious and unique! They offer a lot of flavors that you would not see at other places. I stopped by here with my family on a weekend after hiking close by and I'm so glad we did! We tried a few flavors but our favorites were the Guava cheesecake and the mango sorbet. We go here every week after swimming. They carry Lappert's ice cream from Hawaii, which is the best. But I am also very impressed with the service. When I was here last, my son was being careless and knocked his ice cream onto the floor. I was fine for him to learn a lesson and not have the ice cream, but the person helping us was adamant that we should accept a replacement (and wouldn't let me pay for it or tip). Sweet Connections is a solid spot for dessert. We stopped in for ice cream and got the strawberry, which was really good. The service was great and they were happy to let us sample flavors before deciding, which we appreciated. The space is family friendly and even has an area to host events. We've been here several times to celebrate birthdays and other gatherings, and it's always worked out well for that. The ambiance definitely leans more toward younger kids, but that's not a negative at all. It still feels welcoming for the whole family. This was my first time here,but it will not be my last! My husband and I went out to dinner for Valentine's Day , but we were too full to have dessert at the restaurant. On our drive back I started to crave a sweet treat and I recalled reading about this place when researching Korean desserts, so we headed over to sweet connections not knowing their hours, but hoping it would be opened. We arrive at 7:56 pm and rushed in and asked the lady at the entrance of she was still serving customers because it was closing time, she said "yes and I didn't realize that it was 8 pm", their closing time. Right there she earned the first stars for customer service!, the other two came with the taste of our Korean bingsu, exceptional treat and we are hooked. We will be back and will definitely recommend to everyone we know, they have icecream, milkshakes,smoothies and shaved ice too, so many treats to try. I am not sure how long they have been opened, but hope they remain providing this level of quality and great disservice for years to come. read more

Sweet Connections is better than ever! But you don't have to believe me - trust my 6 year old, who says: "the ice cream lights are new, and the decorations are pretty nice and cool. Note that this review is based on their bingsu. I'm always game for trying new bingsu places. Ever since I was introduced to them, especially mango flavored ones, it has hands down been my favorite dessert. Some places do it better than others, so if a place does it well, it's a great sign. This place looked promising so wanted to try, even though I was skeptical as it specializes Hawaiian shaved ice.  We ordered the mango bingsu, and they got the shaved ice through the ice maker with mango drizzle and cut fresh mango as well. Had a bite, and wow was it great! The ice was so soft and just melted in your mouth, exactly how good bingsu is. They didn't have condensed milk on the side, but it was flavored with it already. I thought it was a bit much on the sweet side, but still tasted good. The mangos were fresh and sweet, but I'm assuming the season may affect that.  The dessert was overall super enjoyable, and am glad that there is another place that I can get my bingsu fix in the area! Given how good this was, will have to try their main Hawaiian ice dessert next time. read more
