By far my most favorite AYCE buffet (ever). While I will grant folks it isn't the largest selection I've ever seen, it has the favorites (and I haven't been left yearning). My wife's family is from the area and have been coming to Yong Shing for like 20 years. I firmly believe that they have the best crab rangoons ever made, anywhere. Okay, call me a glutton for punishment, but I had to go back yet again ... I've eaten here four times in the past four months, twice with several friends, once with family, once alone. On two of those four occasions, I was struck with a severe bout of food poisoning approximately an hour or so after dining here. Yong Shing Restaurant recently moved from their old location to a brand new, built from scratch building. Nice atmosphere and comfortable booths and tables. The service is excellent and the menu has many different dishes to sample. A very nice lunch and dinner buffet as well as varied luncheon specials will have you looking at the menu for a while. To me, they have the best spare ribs I have EVER had. Roasted in a honey BBQ glaze, they are tender and the portion is large. I have had none better, even in Chinatown. Had been in here a few times before for drinks. Very reasonable priced and tasty drinks. I had yet to find a Chinese restaurant in the Worcester area that didn't upset my stomach but last weekend had a Chinese food craving. My husband suggested we try eating (and not just drinking) at Yong Shing's. I'm not going to lie, I was impressed. I went in with low expectations but was quite happy with the food and service. We sat at a booth in the bar area (before the karaoke started), our waitress was attentive but not overbearing, the prices were very reasonable considering the amount of food we ended up with, the drinks were good, there was definitely plenty of people watching (one of my favorite past times), and once dinner settled I didn't have an upset stomach. Win-Win for all! We'll definitely be going back! And maybe after a few mai-tai's i'll be brave enough to sing karaoke ;) And as a side-note, the parking lot is TINY but on the weekends they offer free valet service and park cars across the street in the high school parking lot. read more

Best mai tais in town. Bartenders are amazingly friendly despite being very busy. Food is less than okay but if you're looking for traditional American greasy chinese food, this place is for you. So sad to give Yong Shing a bad review because I used to love this place. I used to meet people here once a week for drinks and/or food. Everything used to be so good but it has recently really gone down hill. Lights in the dining room flicker so badly over all the tables my eyes started to feel whacky, overall place seems dirty. My boyfriend and I went for the dinner buffet recently and food was not replenished, very disappointed. I get a stomach ache every time I eat or have drinks other than beer here. Been eating at Yong Shing since before they moved to Auburn St the food has always been O K, nothing great, and don't get the sushi it's terrible ! On January 18 2019 I ordered pick up, boneless ribs were so burnt they were not eatable, the chicken teriyaki was basically grilled chicken with absolutely no teriyaki flavor at all, the worst was the house lo mien noodles were like mush very little meat and NO vegetables ! Worst Chinese ever ! When I called to let them know, Carla at the front desk was very pleasant and apologetic and offered my money back, said I would be in the next day. Then her boss ( manager ) got on the phone and told me if I did not bring the food back he would not refund my money as he argued and raised his voice, I was not even looking for a refund, incredibly rude and unprofessional, will not be going back ! read more

The meal overall exposed itself to mediocre Americanized Chinese food... The Orange chicken was lucky enough to be eaten, the batter was crannied in the meat itself. The fried rice was tasteless, and dry... However the crab Rangoon was very good along with the teriyaki beef sticks. The food however looked preserved for sometime lacking the raw taste this Resturaunt usually provides. The main issue was how many people were at the restaurant, assuming so the meal was prepared hours before we picked it up. I'd really like to give this locale a second chance when Resturaunt has time to prepare our food. All the food we bought lacked care and diligence. I hope the next time we arrive our food is better. The definition of average. Place is always packed, so that's generally a good sign. Food is standard fare. Service is spotty, but not awful. Buffet is serviceable, overpriced for dinner, but not to an offensive degree. Food I've always had is good enough, but nothing special. I ordered a lunch entree, broccoli in garlic sauce, and they charged me close to $8.00, yes I said $8.00 for it!!!!!. (I got about a cup of broccoli!!) I had someone order me broccoli in garlic sauce with rice, I didn't get the rice, and for that price and for the measly amount of broccoli that I got, I assumed it came with the rice. When I went back to get my rice that they forgot they wanted to charge me! I said, for what? You mean to tell me that the one cup of brocolli with a little sauce COST $8.00?????????????????????????? That's INSANE!!!! Then they argued with me and told me that the rice was never ordered, and they had to charge me if I wanted it!!!!!!!! Talk about horrible customer service!!!!! If I owned a restaurant and there was an unhappy customer there from a local business, you better believe I would accomodate them, and give them the stupid rice, when they made so much money on the brocolli dish! I had the worst experience of my life. I orderd fried chicken wings, they gave me fried chicken fingers, which gave had a gammey smell. They did not cook the chicken fingers well enough. I called the the person at the reception to talk about it she was very rude. She not only try to make her point but but did not want to accept her mistake. Servers were not wanting to let me move, until I had to explain that 2 weeks ago I suffered 2 seizures in 1 day, and if I didn't move I could possibly have another seizure. They finally decided to move us, after telling us we couldn't have any of the empty tables because they were reserved for others. After moving it took forever for our new server to take our order, after ordering the serve inplied...wow we were ordering alot of food. After our food came the lady next to our table kept staring at our food asking all sorts of questions about our rice noodles. We were finished eating and could not get the check. I was appalled at how unfriendly and pushy the staff was. We went in about 2:45pm We figured we would head out early before the mad rush started. The waitress was extremely cold. No hello just rudely asked if we were ready to order. I had a question on the menu and the waitress was very annoyed answering the question. We gave her our order and she pulled the menus out of our hands in a rough manor. When the food came out it was all cold not even Luke warm COLD! all of it rice, egg rolls, orange chicken and a few more dishes. Not a one was warm. We told her the food was cold and she stuck her finger in the food to test it. Grabbed it off the table upset at us. We apologized and was sorry we were not happy with the temperature. She returned and food was a bit warmer but to much. My husbands fork was bent and she laughed at him. We asked for a manager and they never came out she was waiting for us to pay we asked again to see the manager he came out and explained that the food was cold because it was New Years eve day and they are very busy in the kitchen and would take off 10% .We explained we did not eat anything other than what we put on our plate and took one bite of each dish to find out it was cold and still not sure once it was warmed up if it was the same dishes that the waitress put her finger in.The manager said that's all he could do for us. Easily the best Chinese restaurant in the local area. The food is really good and it comes out very quickly. My family are all big fans of the Mongolian beef, but everything is very tasty. The only downside is that it's slightly more expensive than other options in that area (like Food Works), but the food quality is much higher, so it's worth it. Would highly recommend this place to everyone. They do a buffet as well, and if you don't get there early, you'll end up waiting for a while. read more

While the food was better than the average Chinese food. The service and experience my family and I had was beyond compare. We went out for an early diner around 6ish, had a few apps, a few meals and ordered a some drinks. About and hour into our diner the restaurant lost power. Since the time the power had gone out, I had asked the waitress about 10 times if/when the power would go back on. She would either say "idk I'll check" and not get back to me or say "I'm not sure". At about 9:30 we had now been sitting in the dark for about an 2 and half hours, it was time for us to get going. We asked for the bill. Due to the power outage she could not come up with one. Completely understandable. As the waitress did not know the dollar amount the bill was coming too(later we found out it was $360) the waitress made the suggestion to leave our phone numbers and the restaurant would call us and we could pay the bill over the phone, with a CC, once the power came back on. We thought this to be a good idea so 3 out of the 8 of us left our best numbers, that way we knew the restaurant would be able to get ahold of someone. As we felt the waitress was working hard and was in a tough spot we gave her a large cash tip. As we thought everything would be ok we all went our separate ways and waited to for the restaurant to call one of us. Shortly after 11pm my cousin, who made the reservation, received a call from he Auburn police department saying the restaurant had filed larceny charges against us. In complete confusion he called the auburn police to find out what was going on and where the misunderstanding was. The police department said there is nothing they can do and we would need to get everything straighten out with the restaurant. After talking to the restaurant we were able to get everything settled. Apparently the owner said the waitress never gave him our contact information and she never told him any of our discussions. My cousin explained to him at no point were we trying to skip on the bill, but we had no way of know how much it was. Once he understood the situation, he apologized up and down, we paid the bill and the owner also said he would call the police department and straighten everything out with them. At this point we thought it to be nothing more than water under the bridge. And nothing more than a little bit of aggravation. Until a few days ago when my cousin gets a court summons for larceny charges. Once this was received, first thing he did was call the police department to find out what was going on. Apparently, from what we understand, the owner of the restaurant, never reached out to the police department to withdraw the charges. My cousin now has to go to court over this situation. What we thought to be a good idea by the waitress has been nothing but a problem. Unfortunately management/ownership has only made the situation worse. If anyone is thinking about going to this restaurant, I would urge you all to reconsider so you do not end up in court due to the incompetencies of this restaurants staff, management and or ownership. read more

Chinese food at the Food Court would have been better. The pot stickers were undercooked and grainy, the crab rangoons tasted frozen, and the beef lo mein had literally no flavor at all.
