I went here for the first time in years last night and I was disappointed to see how downhill it has gone. First, we were seated next to the outdoor smoking cage that had the door open all night which smelt awful. Next, we get a waitress who was very dirty. Dirty clothes, smell, DIRTY fingernails and hands...very unappealing. She didn't come back to take our order after drinks so after almost an hour of waiting we walked up to the serving stand to find her and she was eating a rotisserie chicken from the serving sink WITH HER HANDS. This is a decent Chinese restaurant, good quality food, the environment is nice very presentable, low lit and good for dates or taking the family out. If you want to get the best experience from this place I strongly suggest you request a waiter by the name of Perla. She will definitely take care of you and you will enjoy your experience. Food is mediocre. Jasmine restaurant is 100% better. Yong shing is also pretty dirty. The plexiglass between seats are by far the most dirty of all the restaurants I've gone to during covid. Only one waitress whom is also the bartender. And no draft beers she says. Why such a huge bar and no draft beers? Only bottled. House fried rice is bland. Tasted like something flavorful was missing. Overall I've never been impressed with this place. I stopped going there 4 or so years ago and now I remember why. This incident is from 3/23/2018. This place is a hit or miss. Some times the food is really good but more often it's really oily or greasy. I've seen mechanics use less grease when lubing parts. The reason we keep coming back, is because when the food is good it's good and worth it. My family has been coming to Yong Shing for years. The food is always delicious and the price is good for a Chinese restaurant. The new building is much nicer and more open than the old building, but the parking is still about the same. We mostly come to Yong Shing for New Year's Eve, and they've had a fairly good system of delivering the food in the old building (call out the last four digits of a phone number). But this past New Year's, it's as if they threw that system out the window... Instead, these poor Chinese women who clearly couldn't speak English very well, were trying to call out people's names, which they couldn't pronounce, and everyone was getting frustrated. We heard from some folks near us who had orded at noon and were still waiting for their order at 6:30 pm! Eventually people were just going around the counter, only to find dozens of take-out bags just sitting on a table. The take-out bags had the phone numbers written right on the bag, yet no one had the common sense to call out these numbers! People were so fed up after waiting for so long, that many were just taking their now-cold food and leaving without paying. We had the buffet and I found it to be really good. We got there right as it opened so everything was hot. They had some sushi, salad, chicken wings, teriyaki, a few entree style dishes, rice, noodles etc. Everything was really fresh and tasty. My review is based on the experience my family and I had at the buffet section of the restaurant. Food - 2.5 stars:On my plate was fried rice, steak and vegetables, crab rangoons, and fried chicken. The crab rangoon's were alright, they felt a little bit stale but they were edible. Very crunchy and a nice soft core. However, their fried rice was very dry and had no flavor to it, along with their fried chicken. Their steak pieces with vegetables were drowned in sauce, literally. All of their buffet food felt very old and very salty. Service - 1.5 stars: Our waitress seemed very clueless and unconfident with her job. Through our whole 30 minutes their, we only interacted with her once during our course. We were all eating and she comes out of no where and plops a stack of napkins on our table giving an awkward and uneasy feeling for the rest of our time there. While she came to drop off some napkins she didn't even ask if we needed anything else or ask if we were done with our plates to take them away. And if you are planning on ordering on New Years Eve, there is usually a waiting list for take-out of 4-6 hours. The bar usually offers good conversation even on week days. There was only one other table being waited on. Our waitress was either high or drunk or something with pretty much slurred speech. Food came out cold and instead of rice we got lo mein and she spilled all the drinks as she brought them over. Waited 20 minutes before she came back to ask how everything was and longer for check. When it comes to Chinese restaurants, this place is definitely a little more upscale than most of them. Has a huge bar, and great drinks. It is a little pricier, when compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. They have a buffet on Thursdays and Sunday nights, as well as a lunch buffet on Saturdays, I think. The food is always great. Service is usually quick. The only downside is, parking is terrible. Their parking lot is tiny, they have valet from time to time, however, it is very slow. read more

I will Never go back. I was there today and left money on the table that my friend had given me While there. We only had one soda and chicken fingers. I received a phone amd walked outside to talk. I did not realize my friend was coming out as well. When I returned not even 4 min the table was cleared off and money was gone. We went here for a family member's birthday dinner. They are from the area and chose this place to go. We didnt not eat dinner after work and were hungry by the time we arrived. I am stating this as we didnt get our food until 10 PM. We arrived at 8 PM....Upon arriving we placed an order for a scorpion bowl for two. The waitress never came back to our table to ask if we wanted another drink, or to order food. I watched as she served other tables around us, drinks, took food orders and brought the food out to them. She never came back to take our food order. I kept thinking she would look our way and I could flag her down. I ended up going to the ladies room and saw her on the other side of the room serving tables. When I got back to our table I asked my boyfriend had she come to take our order yet and he said no. So I went and tracked her down and asked her when she was coming to take our order and she said "I am coming now". I said "Are you??????" I then followed her to our table. This was now past 9 PM. She took our order and again we didnt see her again for another hour. The food came out at 10 PM. During this time the restaurant turns into an awful karaoke bar. Bunch of young drunk people singing horribly. Not our scene at all. We were just waiting on our food to arrive so we could eat and leave. By this time we were ready to eat our arms off. After the food came I told her to bring the check as I dont know when I will see her again. I didnt even bother to ask her to box up our left overs as I know it would have taken an act of god to get that done. I will never ever return here. read more

This seems to be an Auburn landmark, and is still a hit in its new location. For dinner tonight, we all had the buffet, and overall it was very nice as far as buffets go. There was a wide array of entry choices in the buffet, and it was all fresh, except for the egg roll. It would have been nice to have a dessert buffet as well, but maybe it was best that they didn't. One downside is that the waitress seemed to be in a big hurry, even though she didn't directly pressure us.
