When I walked in, the vibe was relaxing with the good music playing--just three tables and one person at the bar--but that didn't last long. Within ten minutes, five more parties dropped in, and the place went from zero to sixty real quick. The Service: A One-Woman Show I have to give a massive shout-out to Casey. For the first hour, she was "The House." She was greeting everyone, tending bar, taking every order, and running food. Even as the crowd swelled, she stayed on top of it. She got my drinks out fast, and while there was a wait for the food, it was totally reasonable considering she was flying solo until backup arrived an hour and a half later. The Food: Seafood & Southern Staples The kitchen is run by a single cook who clearly knows their way around a fryer. Even with a mountain of large DoorDash orders stacking up, my meal arrived hot and fresh about 20 minutes after ordering. The Main Event: Egg, Catfish, Shrimp & Grits with Texas Toast The Seafood: The catfish and shrimp were fried to perfection. Those shrimp are truly colossal and packed with flavor. My only minor gripe was that both were a bit on the greasy side, but the taste was spot on. The Sides: The soft scrambled eggs with cheese were a little too soft for my personal preference, but still tasty. The grits were standard, and the Texas toast was exactly what it should be: perfectly toasted and buttery. The Drink: I ordered the 50/50 tea. It came in a 12-oz plastic mason jar and hit the sweet spot--refreshing without being overly sweet. The Bottom Line Be prepared for the "fine print" on the bill. There is a 16% automatic gratuity and a credit card service fee. My total came to $41.33. Tea: 2.99,2 egg & Catfish:16.99, add cheese:.99 and side of fried shrimp: 9.99, service fee: 1.24, 16% gratuity: 4.95, and tax: 4.18 Honestly, even with the auto-gratuity, I had to slide Casey some extra cash. I've been to Yoolks On Us multiple times and food wise they never disappoint, I had blueberry pancakes, cheese and eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and coffee, I ordered sausage, but they brought bacon, so I just went with it. The waitress wasn't quite as attentive, I had to ask for a few items more than once, to the point that I just finally asked another waitress. I'm not a fan of automatic gratuity, but it is what it is. I've been here several times and usually enjoy it, but this last visit was just okay. I had a basic breakfast--eggs, potatoes, pancakes, and bacon. Unfortunately, everything was warm at best, not hot. My friend ordered pancakes, eggs benedict, and fried catfish. She mentioned the catfish was greasy and tasted like it had been cooked in old oil, and the egg on her benedict was more like a boiled egg. I went here with my mother once. We were shopping in the plaza and saw the restaurant and decided to get a bite too eat. The thing that sticks out the most was the incredibly long wait to get our food. The food was good, but not worth the wait. Perhaps it was a one-off, but if you are not willing to spend a lot of time waiting, avoid eating here. I arrived at 1:30 p.m. on a Sunday and this place was packed. I was seated very quickly. My server came to the table almost immediately introduced herself and took my drink order. I was disappointed when she told me that they were out of catfish and they did not have any sorbet for the sorbet Mimosas. We decided to get the French toast platter, the steak and eggs and two salmon patties. The salmon patties were very good. The French toast was soggy. I asked for my steak to be medium and it came out very well done. I asked the young lady who was serving us could I just get the country fried chicken instead of the steak since it was not prepared to my liking and she agreed to do so. The country fried chicken comes out and it has sausage gravy on it. Very interesting. The sausage gravy tasted like it was from out of a can and the chicken tasted like it was a prepackaged patty. Hunnnnniiiiii!!!! This is my new favorite place to eat at being that I moved here from SC! Babbyyyy, those cooks be cooking!!!! I mean putting it down in that kitchen. I will warn you that it does take some time to receive your food being that it's cooked to order. It took a little too long this day so I rated it a 4 overall only because it wasn't super crowded. Don't get me wrong most days it's booming with business. The establishment itself could use bigger tables, but heyyyyy you have to start somewhere! Every time I go my food is always seasoned properly hot and fresh(hope I didn't jinx myself LOL). We always start with a tropical mimosa while we wait, but this day we choice to splurge a lil bit more by ordering a jumbo mimosa. I mean why not get a little more bang for your buck!!!! We walk into a light green and yellow warm room with smooth easy listening music playing in the back and our server greeted us with a smile and took our drink order and returned quickly for our brunch Selections. The food was great. The menu is full of yummy Southern Breakfast favorites and a few items for those upscale moments - Smiles! Everything was fresh and hot off the grill. The service was excellent. Two servers worked together and covered all the tables with eagle eyes waiting for us to look like we needed something. Very attentive but not pushy, perfect! The decor is so nice. I love the beautiful wood on the walls combined with the comforting colors. Everything flows together. The seating is comfortable, and we love the televisions (no sound). You can see what's happening if you want to, but are not distracted by the voices. Nice background plays softly while you eat. The restrictions are superclean and fresh! This is usually one of my husband and my favorite placea to have breakfast or brunch. However, today, on a return trip from Williamsburg, I decided to stop with my mother, daughter, and grandson. It was a disaster, to say the least. It was as busy as it normally was, but from start to finish, when we were seated, it was a mess. After waiting about 35 to minutes, we were seated. We sat for about 15- 20 minutes waiting to get service. The server took our drink order and it was another 10 minutes before we received our drinks we asked for more creamer and our server said well I haven't taken your order let me go do this and come back After another 15 minutes, our server returned to take our order. We again had to ask for additional creamer. We chatted and tried to patiently wait. After about 35 minutes, pancakes were brought to the ta le with no other part of the meal. We sat another 15 minutes and had to ask another server to take the pancakes back so they could be remade. After another 5 or so minutes, our food was delivered to the table, and it had been in the window for a while. When it reached the table, it was cold, and we we were still missing the pancakes and catfish filet. All the while, I am watching people around us served by the other serber receiving their oders no issue. I am watching our server making drinks at the bar and chatting it up. Not once we're we sdjed in our esut fif we need more coffer, water or anything else for that matter. I asked to speak to a manager, and I relayed our plight. She said the meal would be discounted, and she apologized for our inconvenience. They only took off 20 percent for cold food they we had to try to salvage. We still ended up with a 70 dollar bill for a meal that wasn't worth 20 of that. My mother ate little to none of her meal, and i ate none of mine. Today's visit was a complete travesty. Epic Fail. I'm going to be completely honest, don't judge the outside of the building and the shopping center on the expected experience. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. It definitely has a nice vibe going inside. The customer service was good and prompt. It didn't take long for our order to come out. Our waitress was attentive throughout our visit and even the other wait staff were friendly and helpful. I will not be dining here ever again. Although the food is ok, I did not appreciate the 4% charge for you to use your debit or credit card and the 16% automatic gratuity fee that they charge. I am not a fan of automatic gratuity charges regardless of the percentage. I leave a tip good or bad based on the service I receive. Supposedly, they have a tiny sign somewhere on their glass windows in front of the restaurant but I did not see it and if I had, we would have dined somewhere else. The waitress did not tell me nor bother to ask if we saw the sign stating the debit and credit card fee that they charge ( which according to my daughter the sign said 1% not 4% ) also when they present the bill it's on a handheld device that the waitress just tells you your total. You don't see the charges, only a screen showing add a tip. This is deceitful to the customers that dine there. I have dined there in the past and they did not charge 4% for you to use your charge card or debit card which is what most customers pay with nor did they automatically charge a 16% gratuity fee. read more

The food was mediocre at best. The pancakes, which are my favorite, tasted awful. Sausage tasted like it was made yesterday and they just put it in the microwave. The potatoes had no taste at all. It is hard to mess up breakfast. Also I told the young lady over the phone that I was paying with cash and later on I saw that they charge me a credit card fee. Make sure you check your receipt. One server came over finally and asked for our drink order, we ordered water. 1 minute later another server came over and asked for our drink order and we ordered water again. We asked for our checks and she didn't bring it to us, she just told us one check was $12 even and the other was $20 even, which was suspicious. My first time visit I went with a party of 3 there's gratuity automatically if you dine-in and also if you pay using card there's a service fee.... we got 3 meals & 1 pancake and also we all got water for are drinks and in total I paid $92.35..... service was okay but now let's get into the food for $92 dollars. The French toast isn't really French toast it's bread cut with syrup barely toasted, I got the chicken and waffles for $17.99 and 1 pancake, The pancake and waffles aren't pancakes and waffles there both made out of cornbread mix which was very eh not to good being that cornbread is like a sponge so no matter how much syrup you put it was dry regardless. The chicken tenders were pretty good nice and crispy but if you like any condiments bring your own because they have ranch & ketchup that's it. And might I add I'm sorry I got a drink also for $8.49 called "The Irish Crème" coffee mixed with Baileys with whipped cream but this was definitely just hot coffee with creamer so I don't recommend that. I'm a morning person who wants to start there morning with down beat downers. I was told I can sit where I want as IM walking I almost slipped. I addressed the mean face one with the golden locks her rude response is it's slippery every where. That's why we have the wet floor sign.
