Outrageously sneaky protein add on charges
    Jane C.

This Thai place is so overpriced for mid Thai food. I ordered the Vietnamese crêpe, my boyfriend got the beef pad Thai, and I ordered a shrimp and rice kids dish and the server didn't disclose an additional $4.50 charge for beef for the Pad Thai, which is ridiculous (especially to not disclose that) making that dish $18. And then for the kid's option, it gives you the choice of a protein for the rice and chicken or shrimp, and so I chose shrimp and it was just a HEAPING plate of dry rice (the whole plate was just a huge mound of rice) and two skewers of 4 shrimps total for $12.50 PLUS $2 extra for the shrimp (again, not disclosed). I wish I took a photo of the pathetic kids plate. The Vietnamese crepe I ordered was ok, not very flavorful or crisp on the outside like I hoped. I am definitely not coming back here. If you guys are going to charge extra for the protein, it's customary to let the customers know before you charge them.

I've passed by Yoonique Pho and Grill several times in the past, and was intrigued by the unique decor and lighting. I added the restaurant to my "Places I'd like to Check Out" collection on Yelp, and here I am... three months later! Don't forget to bookmark the places you want to check out, it's a real help when you can't decide where to eat! My husband and I had Valentine's Day lunch here, and I was thrilled to find seating without reservations. We were seated quickly, and the staff were very friendly, and highly responsive. The dining room is quite large, and there are seating options for large groups and more intimate settings. We ordered the Saigon broken rice plate, and the Yoonique sampler platter. Both items were served expeditiously, and pleased us greatly. I'm so glad we didn't order a second entree because there was more than enough food for the two of us. The portions are very hearty in this restaurant. Everything on the menu looks intriguing, and I can't wait to return so I can try some new dishes.

When you first walk in, you're greeted with a very well-lit restaurant. The ambiance is warm and comforting, along with the other cool decorations they have. I would say that this restaurant has more unique Vietnamese dishes than other restaurants I've seen. The dishes all seemed really appetizing, so it was hard for me to decide what to get. I ended up getting the vermicelli noodle bowl with grilled pork and crispy egg rolls. I thought everything in the bowl was prepared very well with emphasis on the CRISPY for the egg rolls :) . I think one thing that might make the bowl even better is to offer a stronger fish sauce. The fish sauce is pretty diluted (which makes sense cause more people will be attracted to it since it's easier to eat). Overall, the restaurant is about 5 minutes away from home, so this place has been a staple for me ever since they opened. If you ever get a chance to try it, you won't be disappointed!

I usually stick to classic pho when I visit pho spots, but I was craving Bun Bo Hue today and decided to give theirs a try. I am really glad I did because it was delicious and hit the spot. The restaurant itself is fantastic, featuring a spacious layout with plenty of tables so you never feel cramped. They also have a massive menu with a ton of options to choose from, and they played great music that created a really nice atmosphere. To top it all off, the servers were incredibly nice and attentive throughout the entire meal. It was an overall good experience, and I will definitely be back to try more of the menu.

A group of friends and I came for lunch on a weekday. It was pretty quiet and we were greeted by the friendly staff. I believe Daniel was our server. He was very nice. We sat at the restaurant for a really long time catching up. I had the wing appetizer and it was the perfect size for me. I will say that the chicken was a little overcooked. I tried the plates my friends got and they were amazing. I don't think you can go wrong here!

Great atmosphere, very aesthetically pleasing with an attention to detail.

Wow! They score on so many levels. The atmosphere is tasteful with an attention to detail. It does matter if the color scheme is appropriate, whether there's lots of plants (whether fake or not), and if the various nuances complement the food. The Longan honey ice tea was so refreshing, so good! The cabbage chicken salad provided a good balance between sweetness and spice. I do prefer shredded white and dark meat instead of teriyaki. The other salad with a brisket-type beef was even better. Complex and unique. Our favorite Vietnamese dish is Bo Lu Lac and they offer an above average version. Friendly service. The timing of bringing out the dishes could be better though. The menu consists of most of the choices you'd find at a Vietnamese restaurant, but it's just expansive and better here.

Solid pho and the chicken was delicious! Service was great and kid friendly. Lots of space and nicely decorated. I'll be back!

    Bun Bo hue

Every pho restaurant I go to, I don't get pho. I ALWAYS go for their bun bo hue. Out of all the Pho restaurants I've been to in Oregon that don't specialize in Bun Bo Hue, I've been satisfied but never amazed. This restaurant is the ONLY pho restaurant to blow me away with their Bun bo hue. The theme and ambience of the restaurant is also nice. I felt cozy and peaceful while gulping down the hot and spicy soup. They also have great service. No complaints there. So if you're in the Division area near 122nd in Portland, definitely one of the best places to get bun bo hue.

Such a great new place on 122nd! Very clean inside, tons of options and very fair prices. The service was great and we plan on coming back and trying more menu items! Also, very Vegetarian friendly place!

Top notch food! Located in an unassuming strip mall area. This is a large restaurant with nice ambiance inside. The shaky beef dish is excellent! Tender beef in a delicious sauce with greens. Yum! I would definitely recommend anyone to go here for awesome Vietnamese food.

I ordered through DoorDash and went with the Vegan Pho and salad rolls. On the positive side, they were generous with the tofu, which is more than I can say for a lot of restaurants. Unfortunately, both dishes seemed to have the same secret ingredient: salt. And then a little more salt. The pho broth was already pretty salty when it arrived, but somehow managed to become even saltier overnight. By breakfast the next morning, I was pretty sure it could have been used to preserve historical artifacts. The salad rolls were packed with tofu, which I appreciated, but whatever marinade was used had enough sodium that my old horse Mika probably would've mistaken it for a salt lick. To be fair, my Pescatarian mom and Omni husband both enjoyed their shrimp rolls, so not everything was a miss. Overall, the food was edible and filling, but the heavy hand with the salt kept me from fully enjoying it.

Steamed broccoli was a fresh addition, and the side broth hit the spot. * The Pork Chops with Shredded Pork Skin (Bì) & Egg Meatloaf (Chả Trứng) plate was decent, though a bit average compared to other spots nearby. The flavors were fine, but nothing particularly stood out. * Noodle Soup: The spicy beef noodle soup had a rich, deep color and a generous amount of fresh herbs and onions, though the broth lacked a bit of the punch and depth of flavor I was hoping for. If you are looking for fresh, flavorful, and satisfying comfort food, do not walk--run to this spot. To get the full experience, we ordered a variety, and every single item was a hit. We started with the Beef Pho, and the broth was the absolute star. It was rich, aromatic, and deeply savory, clearly simmered for hours. It was the perfect dish on a sunny Portland day. We also grabbed a Chicken Banh Mi. The bread had that perfect crispy crust with a soft, airy crumb, and the chicken was grilled to perfection with fresh veggies and herbs. Of course, we had to wash it all down with a creamy, sweet Thai Tea--it was delicious and the perfect end to the meal. Beyond the food, the vibe is great. It's a super clean, casual spot with big windows letting in lots of natural light. It's set up for quick counter service, which makes it perfect for a fast lunch downtown, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel right at home. Highlights: · The Pho Broth: Seriously some of the best in the city. · The Banh Mi: Fresh bread, great fillings. · The Service: Fast, efficient, and incredibly kind. Pro Tip: Don't forget to grab your own utensils and sauces (the chili crisp is a must for the pho), and help yourself to the free self-serve hot tea. It's the little touches like that which make this place a winner. I am already planning my next trip back to try the Crispy Pork Belly. Highly recommend
