The ramen itself is pretty good it has flavorful broth, perfectly chewy noodles, and toppings that taste fresh and thoughtfully prepared. You can tell they put a lot of care into their food. That said, the wait can be pretty long, and their open hours are short, which makes it a bit tricky to plan a visit. If you don't time it right, you might find yourself standing in line for quite a while. Once you do get in, the service is quick and friendly, and the space has that cozy, authentic ramen-shop feel. Even with the downsides, the food is genuinely good enough to bring me back. If you're willing to deal with the wait, Wu Ron definitely delivers a satisfying bowl of ramen.
****THIS PLACE GETS BUSY**** Wu-Ron's gets super busy so the earlier you arrive the better. There's an alright amount of seating. When you get there you put your name on a list outside and then wait for them to call your name. There is plenty of parking so that part isn't an issue. We started with an order of karage. It wasn't crunchy, but the meat was flavorful and tender. I ordered the #3 with an extra side of noodles. This was my favorite broth that I've had so far. Broth so good it makes you rethink your life choices haha. My guess is the butter made it more rich and flavorful. The pork belly was tender and delicious. Only regret, not ordering an antijama (marinated egg) with it. My friend ordered the #5, It was bold, savory, and full of traditional flavor. I got to try her egg which is why I recommend getting one with your dish. The customer service was good, they're attentive and kind. They also let you choose a sucker from a sucker tree when done. When we first got there for dinner there was only about 6 of us waiting to be called in. When we left the lobby was busy with about 30, maybe 40, people waiting to get called in. That's with the restaurant almost full too. It was wild and you've been warned! Haha.
Wu-Ron's is a cute little ramen house with decent ramen I'd say. The service was quick, although the miso ramen wasn't very flavorful at all, had to add the black garlic for more flavor. As for the noodles reminded me much of angel hair for spaghetti. My boyfriend enjoyed his classic shoyu and said the noodles with thick with great flavor. Out of all the ramen shops in town I'd say this is like 6 or 7 on my List?
My partner and I came to this restaurant, it has a ma and pa restaurant shop vibe. The ramen however, I got the #3 Sapporo ramen, the description is what I exactly got, I added a marinated egg and that was delicious. We also got the cucumber as a side, the flavor of the sauce was tangy but amazing with the spice. Definitely worth the buck and will be returning to try out more ramen and also the drinks too! The service was also fast and the food came out within 10-15 mins. Very welcoming and love the vibes they were giving out.
This is a cute family own business. The ramen quality is top tier. The only ramen that has the quality and flavor of ramen from Japan. Service is alway great! I stick with my usual Nagahama Tonkatsu. With menma and black garlic oil. The broth is rich and consistent. The noodles are al dente. The pork is seasoned perfectly and charred. The menma is good and never funky. I always finish my bowl.

Service is very friendly. It's not the big popular ramen shops in Portland, and the experience and quality make it worth the stop.
I came here with friends who are long-time regulars. I personally don't like pork/pork belly in my ramen but I always give it a try if it's my first time someplace new. I'm glad I did, because the charred flavor in the pork here was incredible and something I wouldn't mind ordering again. I thoroughly enjoyed the miso ramen and tried it with the spicy sauce.
I've been to many ramen places in Portland and Wu Ron's is by far the best. Every worker there is kind from start to finish and the ramen had my boyfriend and I coming back once a week! The restaurant is so warm and an overall inviting atmosphere that I loved going back to. Please give this place a try!!!
Nice experience, I enjoyed the vibes of the restaurant and the food was also great. I will say it was just a bit disappointing to spend 25 bucks on the mega bowl of ramen(not pictured, whoops) with all the goodies and for it to only be filled just above halfway. Wish there was a bit more for what I paid for but hey it was pretty tasty. Service was quick and the staff where very friendly. Love the split bowl ramen for those who cant decide what they want and choose a little bit of two different kinds.
Be prepared for a wait - this small spot is popular! We did dinner here as a group of three and it was probably a 30-60 minute wait (I'm not totally sure). We thought it was worth it, but if we had been in a rush, we wouldn't have been able to stay. There's free street parking in the neighborhood, but some areas are sketchy, so just be mindful. This restaurant has a cool double door entry where you wait in a hallway next to another place. They'll call your name when your table is ready, and you'll step into the actual business which feels like going to another country. The interior is eclectic, industrial, cultural. We each got a ramen dish. They were large and delicious. Staff was busy but attentive. This is probably the closest I've felt to being in Japan anywhere in Portland. read more

Wu-Rons is a popular ramen spot with limited seating so be prepared to wait a while to get a table. I went with a group of 4 and we had to wait for about 30 minutes. Once we were inside and ordered the food came out pretty quickly. The staff were very friendly and even gave us our choice of candy at the end of the meal! Their ramen is very rich and different to what most ramen places in Portland have to offer. read more
I will start with, IT IS WORTH THE WAIT! A known ramen chef from LA follows Wu-Rons and the reason why the family stop by. Menu has good choice of ramen dishes and even offer a kids ramen. It is rare to find Kids ramen on most ramen restaurants. I enjoyed the Miso Tonkotsu ramen. Kids loved there kid's ramen. Which I have to say is rare to find kid's ramen bowls. Wife enjoyed a shoyu ramen. In all, everyone loved the meal, staff, and atmosphere. I have bookmarked this in Yelp and will return many times again. Thank you Wu-Ron's. read more

Just wanted something light got the cucumber salad with spicy yuzu dressing and two orders of tofu on side both so amazing. I was very surprised how lovely the food was. Will come back for the vegan ramen. read more

I've been to many ramen places in Portland and Wu Ron's is by far the best. Every worker there is kind from start to finish and the ramen had my boyfriend and I coming back once a week! Their ramen is sooo delightful. My partner and I would come back for sure. The restaurant staff are incredibly kind and thoughtful. The ambiance reminds me of those small ramen places in Japan with its unassuming aesthetic. read more

Noodles and chashu both had excellent texture and flavor. Soup was on the oily side. It was great until my skin reacted soon afterwards, and that was the only thing I ate that day, which makes me wonder about the ingredients read more

We've been coming to Wu-Ron's Ramen for a while now--probably over 20 visits--and it never disappoints. It's a small, tucked-away spot that we only share with a handful of people because we love being able to stop in and enjoy a fresh, consistently amazing bowl of ramen without the crowd. The quality is always spot on, no matter the day. The waitress always remembers our order, which makes it feel like home, and the cook always greets us with a smile. That kind of warmth and consistency is rare, and it's one of the many reasons we keep coming back. Wu-Ron's is one of those hidden gems you want to keep to yourself, but honestly--it's too good not to recommend. read more

We were planning on going to the OMSI that day & wanted to eat somewhere nearby. Yelp steered me to this way. A cute modern spot that runs a smaller menu. You order at the counter & take a seat. We went with the nagahama tonkotsu & sapporo miso. When our food arrived, we noticed we had 2 different types of noodles. The miso had a thicker noodle as it's a heavier broth. Both broths were very tasty, the miso was very creamy & tonkatsu was a lot lighter. Noodles were cooked to a perfect consistency. Wu-Rons is the underdog of ramen in Portland! Tucked away at the edge of E Portland by Hawthorne bridge, it is away from the hustle and bustle of town. They are a small establishment with seating for about ~30 people. Going on a Saturday evening, the line was out the door the entire time we were there. There was just one person taking orders and bringing out food, yet she was friendly and hospitable. It felt like I was going over to a friend's house for dinner. The ramen was so good! I got the nagahama tonkatsu with thick noodles, which was pure comfort. The broth was rich, creamy, not overly salty, and the noodles were perfectly al dente. The chasu and pork belly were tender and juicy. They also have a plethora of chili sauces and seasonings to add to your ramen. I can tell they take pride in their work, which truly shows. Wu-Rons is the hidden gem of ramen in Portland, and they are not to be passed up! Life's hard, don't make it harder by not coming to Wu-Rons. read more

This is one of the more rich and flavorful ramen broth spots in town. They have tonkotsu broth as the base, and since opening, they're added a few variety of ramen with varying toppings. (They also added a mandatory 18% gratuity, which is fine with me because on average I tip 20% and they don't pressure you to add any more than the 18% when you pay. So not sure why people get upset with the 18% service charge.) This time I tried the Sapporo Miso, which starts with the tonkotsu base but adds the richness of miso and then is served with ground chicken, corn, bean sprouts and cha shu slices. It was a filling and flavorful bowl of noodles. I love this little gem of a place, but I will warn you that it's on the other side of the tracks and undoubtedly every time I go on a Saturday for lunch, I always end up having to wait for some long ass train to cross before I can get back to civilization. So be warned! haha. read more

I ordered the vegetarian tan tan men. It was a kelp and shiitake broth. I didn't ask for the soup to be spicy (I should have!) The soup itself was flavorful, but I really enjoy a spicy ramen. It came with bean sprouts, cilantro, cherry tomatoes, and tofu. Chili oil, chili powder, and sambal is available to spice up your soup thankfully. I ordered additional noodles and bamboo. The decor is a fun throwback that pays homage to the 90s Japan pop scene with cool toy cars and Japanese rock. Service was great, it was quick and the turn around for the food is very reasonable. I'd say within 15 minutes of entering, the food was in front of us. One thing to note is that mandatory 18% tip applied to the bill, I had no problem with it though, it's even kind of funny how it's on parties of 1 or higher. This is the best ramen in Portland hands down! read more

This isn't a typical Japanese-owned business. Tips greedily is not usual. The owner said he's from Japan. Shameful. Tips= good service. If not you don't deserve it. It's up to customers to decide. It was definitely better vibes couple years ago when it was different owner of this ramen spot. read more
It's been a long time since we indulged into ramen. This place is typical ma and pop family owned and run place. The couple runs this place like a clock. I guess it's a couple, I did not ask, but looking at their actions I guessed it. The ramen was really good the broth was rich, creamy and delicious. The noodles were nice and chewy.I also ordered extra chashu and it was delicious. The egg was ok, I was expecting it to be runny, but it was little tad bit cooked over.Chicken Karage was not crunchy but good portion and tasty. I will definitely go back and try some more dishes. I would recommend this place to give it a try, you will not be disappointed. read more

4.5 One of the better ramen spots in Portland. It's small, but clean inside. Vegan ramen was rich in flavor, didn't taste overly nutty - as some others I've tried. The toppings paired well with the noodles. JFC meat was tender, but sauce was a bit runny. Would've liked to have more pieces of chicken. There's not much else immediately nearby and the hours could be better, but this place is worth checking out. read more

Delicious ramen that is rich and flavorful, but not too fatty. Everything was cooked to the right temperature and texture, which is super important! Everything came out fast too. The only thing food-wise I'd critique is the Karaage. The meat itself was wonderfully seasoned and cooked, but the batter was a bit off. Not what was expected, but more than edible. Besides ordering, this place is a self-serve kind of place, which I can appreciate. Very clean and homey ambiance. My partner and I generally prefer udon over ramen, but this was the best ramen we've had in a really long time. Definitely visit if you're in the mood for ramen! read more
