Took in my 2004 Toyota RAV4 for regular oil change, brakes check and overall maintenance checkup. Good thing I brought it in...mechanics found a leak in the transmission oil seal (plus they photo-documented the leak area & emailed me the underside of my vehicle where the leak was located. Brought the vehicle in Monday morning. Because of their work load, told them Thursday or Friday completion will be fine. All replacement/maintenance was completed by Wednesday morning (which was unexpected). Quoted price estimate was good. Thank goodness for their swift diagnosis, free shuttle ride back to my home, and quick repair/maintenance work. Vehicle was back on the road in great shape. They charge a ridiculous $200 fee just to diagnose your vehicle. This fee does not even go towards your repairs. We paid $1,200 for a car battery and a single motor mount that didn't even solve our issue. These people are not honest mechanics. Don't be fooled by their smiles and friendliness. read more

First and foremost, I've been to this shop for my last 3 services, and I love how upfront everything was with these guys! I've been to mechanic shops where they don't even give you an estimate nor do they update you when there are issues. They have a check-in process that provides an electronic estimate. It saves so much of the guessing game. The electronic estimate also provides a checklist of the services they're doing on the car so it's nice to be informed of the process. Secondly, they also provide a complimentary car service to take you home and pick you up once your car is done. Lastly, they seem like genuinely nice people. I took my car here because the engine light was on. They were friendly but they charged $200 for diagnostics. ( we waited 3 days just for diagnostics). Found two diagnostic codes, but did not or would not give me a price for repairs. Tried to stick me with a $600 engine wash that would not fix anything. Took the vehicle to another shop and they found the problem and had it repaired in a few days. This shop might be good for oil changes or minor repairs but not for major engine repairs. read more

Not saying that they won't provide good service and weren't professional, but the price difference was top big to ignore. First of all, I came here because AAA recommended these people. Thinking they would be more affordable I came here. I talked to Travis on the phone. However, the guy at the front desk Eric straight up told me they were not more affordable and that they were a premium repair shop and even smirked at me (his vibe totally rubbed me the wrong way)! All that means is they want to steal your money and trick you into thinking they're more quality. I work on cars myself when I have the time and for 4 new stuff ark plugs and coils it shouldn't be more than $350. They quoted me $1000 just to replace my spark plugs and coils! So an extra $600 for labor? The place next door quoted for $500 (Masters Auto). Don't come here unless you want to get scammed. I assume all of the other happy customers know nothing about cars and I feel bad for their pockets! read more

I have used these guys now on 2 different cars and every time they have diagnosed and handled my specific problems quickly and for way less than the other quotes I was getting. I'll start with my 2006 Lexus IS250 which had 3 dash lights on: check engine, VSC light, and traction control light. I was told by a different mechanic that it was going to need a new catalytic converter for $2000+. I brought the car in, had these guys diagnose it and they came back with a hose that had come unplugged due to a bad motor mount. So they put on a longer hose and fixed the motor mount, all for under $400. The other car was a check engine light on a Honda Civic that ended up just being the gas cap and I got out of there spending less than $20. Their honesty and integrity is very apparent the moment you walk into this shop. They come highly recommended and I will never go anywhere else for my services! Thanks guys! read more

My car took a s*** on me and I had no idea what the problem was or how I would even get it to a mechanic. I have taken my 2014 Subaru Forester to Yorba Linda Auto Services several times, after my previous repair shop was sold to indifferent people. I was delighted to be greeted by Eric (from that previous shop) who was and is a fabulous service manager. The work performed has been different each time, but it has all been done well, while I've waited. The mechanics are excellent and run the car through a detailed checklist each time, so I am made aware of the cost of repairs that need attention soon and which can be deferred. We noticed an oil leak coming from my daughter's car. We took it to Yorba Linda Auto. Upon inspection, they discovered a leak coming from the main seal. They had to remove the transmission in order to replace the seal. What I really liked was the communication. They were very accommodating to my schedule for picking up my daughter's car. My girlfriend was quoted 1500 for new brake pads and rotors and reset a check brake light haha. Ridiculous. I know they do pretty good work because they worked on my tundra about 3 months ago but charged me 800 to clean and evap line so they will charge you ridiculous amounts. Excellent and quick service. I called these guys at 820am and asked to bring my vehicle for work. They started work at 9am, did a thorough check on my vehicle and found a bunch of stuff wrong which was not surprising. They quoted me 3-4 hours for the initial problem, and they actually fixed my vehicle in about 5 1/2 hours--the initial problem and several other ssues that needed work. On top of that they drove me to Starbucks and picked me up! They offered to bring me anywhere else or even home. Really great service!!!! read more

I want start off first with saying the gentleman working there are very nice and friendly. I brought my sons truck in that I inherited which had handling issues. The truck would wander from side to side. I said to them I thought it was the lower ball joints. They sad they checked and it wasn't the ball joints. They told me I needed "new struts, new sway bar links, rear shocks, replace valve cover gaskets and an alignment" which totaled around $2,500. I asked them if they test drove it and they said "they drove it from the front of the shop to the back of the shop," so the answer is no they did not test drive it. I didn't have any work done there and I brought it to another shop and it was my ball joints! I think auto shops these days like to replace parts because they don't have adequate troubleshooting skills. read more

B E W A R E !!! This 1 star rating is for their failure to use OEM parts as was communicated and understood. In August we took our Honda in for the 100,000 mile service. Specifically said we want genuine OEM parts only. We also requested that they return the old parts back to us (this is done to verify that old parts were replaced with new; everyone should do the same no matter how minor or major the job is). We go in to pick her up, and upon reviewing the invoice by husband notices that they did not use OEM. The service guy explains that they are "equivalent to OEM". Well, we know the difference, and that's why we were adamant about using ORIGINAL. He explains that these aftermarket parts are fine. But we don't just want "fine", we want NEW!! At any rate, what's done is done. We can only hope that the generic timing belt they installed lasts 100,000 miles. Our piece of mind is gone, as is our respect for their business. Timing belts can usually go to 100,000 miles, ours may not make it half that. ** ** ** An update to my previous review, way overdue review (6.16.18)... So my husband had always maintained our pilot himself, except whenever there were warranty issues. Initially he was pretty apprehensive about taking it to a mom & pop shop, but after comparing Honda dealer prices and being assured by this business in regards to its use of oem parts, he decided it should be OK. But less than 2 years after the service and barely 5,000 miles later, we can hear noise under the hood during a cold start, normally lasting about 10 mins. No longer the sweet hum of a happy car, but instead a belt and a pulley at war. We had contemplated returning the car back to the shop, but realistically if the parts were deemed "defective" we would just get another set of junk parts. Waste of time. ***** In response to Dan 6.19.18: OEM parts are still a major concern for me, so because of my past experience with your business there is no more trust. Thank you. read more

I took my 2012 Honda Pilot into this establishment for a brake job and oil change. I was originally impressed by how polite and well spoken the customer service appeared to be. I was given an original cost estimate of about $120.00, thought that might be low. A couple of hours later I received a text outlining the work that needed to be done, the total was now over $4,000. Warning! This place tries to upsell every thing they do. The oil change was upped by $65 because they wanted to add a special additive. They will take advantage of your lack of knowledge of automotive repair and scare you into more services than you need. They wanted to replace my entire rack and pinion components because some rubber boots were leaking. How about just replacing the rubber boots? I will not be going back to them, shame on me for going there in the first place. read more

I towed my car in as I needed a shop in the area. Technician called next morning said the quote would be around $535 to replace the "throttle body part" then noted that this was an electric issue as well. Please note, I may not know about cars but I know how to research. I called nearby shops including the dealer that noted the recommendation cannot be accurate. I towed it to a reliable shop in Brea where it was properly and correctly addressed and sure enough it needed an internal cleaning and not even part replacement.. all for $125! A note to this place, if you're gonna charge a diagnostic fee, which you did, then Atleast have your diagnostics be accurate instead of trying to rip off customers with unnecessary labor and parts! Save your time and money and don't have your car repaired here! read more

!!!WARNIG DONT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THESE GUYS!!! Well I'm going to tell it like it was. Had a power steering resivore leak. The fluid was leaking onto the top of the engine manifold. Well ... The " technician" told the clerk to tell me that it was going to cost an extra $200.00 to get the fluid out. Well they also told me they didn't know where the fluid was coming from or how it got there. Well the power steering resivore is right next to on top side of manifold. The resivore has a top and bottom and an o ring in the middle and the worn o ring was causing the leak. But I was told about the extra charge as if this was some type of mysterious leak from no where. (Rip off). From the time I brought the car in all they did was speculate. And when they are initially giving you the great customer service speil at the front desk their ( so called techs) who are probably family members are thinking up ways to drum up your bill. By the way you never see or meet who's working on your car. They make sure of that by the dog and pony show at the counter. One thing for sure they will only fix what needed to be fixed. For example: They replaced the power steering resivore but didn't tighten a power steering hose on the other side of the engine. Infact they be told me that the initial fluid leak was from that hose which is located under the car. Well if the hose is located under the car then how would the fluid get on top of the engine manifold. They thought I was going to fall for it and pay them extra money too tighten a bolt on a hose which had nothing to do with the power steering resivore leak. By the way they still didn't tighten the power steering line bolt. The constantly kept barrating with a lot of BS. After it was all over and they were paid at their counter I was ask " I bet your hating us about know" Don't take your car to them.. !!!!Beware!!!! read more

Bad bad place. I had been taking my car to them for years. Tires, brakes , rotors, shocks, suspension, crank shaft position sensor. A lot of stuff, gave them a lot of business. The work was great, that's not the issue. One day my car died on the freeway, just shut off. Took it to YL auto. They said the connection was lose on battery. Awesome, sounds good. Next day, same thing same spot on freeway died again. Get it towed again to YL auto. He says "let us run a diagnostic on it" I'm like what did I pay you almost 100$ for yesterday ??? Turns out to be crank shaft position sensor needed replaced. Ok mistakes happen. I get in my car n my window just fell down n wouldn't come back up. "Ohhh ya about that, our mechanic accidentally pulled your door handle off n we had to take apart the door to put it back n they must of did something to window". sooo you weren't going to tell me??? Take it back again to fix window, when I picked it back up, window was not lining up correctly with seal n had oil on my steering wheel n door handle. Cool dude. There is more.. my radiator blew, took it to them cause that's where I take my car, they tell me head gaskets are warped n we probably need to drop the engine do yada yada or you can buy a new engine n replace it m that's going to be at least 6k..... I take it over to Bryan's auto in Placentia n the total was 284$ for new radiator. These guys are liars n crooks. I looked the guy dead in the eye n was like dude for all I know you could be totally lying and blowing smoke up my butt. He said Josh, you have been coming to us for years, we would never that, absolutely not, you can trust us I promise... Big bowl of BULLS**T. Screw them. I almost sold my car because I wasn't going to drop probably 7k into a car worth nothing more than 10k. I was tripping about what to do... screw them.
