Since my truck was out of warranty, I wasn't sure where to turn. I reached out through Yelp and heard back from Ed almost immediately. He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. I truly appreciate Ed's honesty, professionalism, and follow-through. He did exactly what he said he would do and then some. I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend him to anyone in need of transmission work.

I was hoping it just needed a Freon recharge. After checking the A/C system, Frank confirmed that the Freon was just low and everything else looked good. Luckily, her older car uses the newer, less expensive Freon. I just hung out while he recharged the system, and it was ready to go about 20 minutes later. The cost was only $150, money well spent to get ice cold air conditioning back. The most recent visit was to troubleshoot a service error code and ABS and brake warning lights. I was hoping this would just be a sensor on one of the wheels, but Frank said it looked like the main ABS ECU unit was faulty. Given the potential cost of the repair, it didn't make sense given the value of the car. I appreciated his honest opinion. He said there was no charge, but I still tipped him for his time because he always takes great care of me. I have tried a few other shops in the area over the years, and had initial good experiences. However, they all eventually gave me an estimate I knew as wrong, or didn't do work they said they did. I've been going to Frank ever since, and trust him 100%. If you need a top notch mechanic, Frank is your guy!

This is basically the 2nd worst thing that could happen to a vehicle IMO The job did take time but I made it work with getting around. Angel and his team did have to do some trouble shooting because this specific transmission requires the valve body to be primed on the bench prior to installation. He rebuilt the entire core and also changed out the engine rear main seal. Now, the transmission feels better than ever. I had to give him a little bit of a hard time about not having Zelle which he ended up getting after. Overall I would say, he really does care about taking care of his customers and will make sure the job is done correctly.

I also like reading the one-star reviews because, let's be honest, you really can't please everyone. I just wanted to find an honest and trustworthy shop. I called and spoke with Ron right before closing time. He took the time to listen to everything I was experiencing, explained what he thought the issue could be, and told me to bring the van in the next morning. Their shop opens at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived around 7:45 AM, they were already there working on vehicles. When I walked in, Ron remembered our conversation from the previous day, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He scanned my van but didn't notice anything unusual. He reset my ECM and another setting, and thankfully that solved the problem. What impressed me the most was that Ron didn't charge me a dime for his time or help, even though I genuinely wanted to give him something for helping me out. I drove all the way from Disneyland back home to Northern California without a single issue afterward. He ordered the part directly from Acura and quoted me a fair price. My car was ready the following day, but when I arrived to pick it up, Francis informed me that my vehicle had been involved in an accident while in his care. He explained that another driver had been speeding through the parking lot and crashed into him. He gave me the other driver's information, and I contacted him immediately. The other driver gave a very different version of events. He stated that he was backing out of a parking space and did not see Francis. He also told me that Francis provided his driver's license information but refused to share insurance information. Now, more than a month later, I still have a damaged vehicle and have not received insurance information from Francis despite multiple phone calls, text messages, and outreach from Mercury Insurance. I trusted this shop to take care of my car, not return it to me in worse condition and leave me responsible for a $500 deductible. What has been most disappointing is the lack of accountability and urgency. Francis acted as though this situation was not a major concern and repeatedly assured me that the other driver would "take care of it," which has not happened. According to the other driver, Francis even asked him to change the story about what happened. I chose this business because of its strong reviews and the image Francis presents, but my experience has been extremely stressful and disappointing. I believe customers deserve honesty, transparency, and responsibility when their vehicle is in someone else's care.

I'm so thankful ChatGPT directed me to Tire Outlet. The moment I pulled into the parking lot, I was greeted with smiles and employees who were eager to help. The manager personally took care of me, and from the very beginning, everyone was friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. The speed of service really impressed me. About a year ago, I brought my car to a different tire shop in Fullerton for another leaky tire and ended up waiting 2 1/2 hours before anyone even looked at my car. Today's experience couldn't have been more different. While I relaxed in Tire Outlet's clean, comfortable waiting lounge and got some work done on my laptop, they had everything taken care of in about 15 minutes. Then came the biggest surprise of all. They told me my tire didn't need to be replaced after all--they were able to fix it easily by hand. And when I went to pay, they insisted on not charging me anything. Seriously... who does that these days?! I was blown away. That level of honesty and integrity is incredibly rare. They could have easily sold me a new tire, especially since my tires are difficult to find, but instead they fixed the actual problem and sent me on my way. I was about two hours from home, and ended up with a hole in my tire that needed fixing before I could drive back. They told me to arrive by 6:30 p.m. since they closed at 7, and I got there just in time. While the actual replacement process was smooth and the tires look fine, I only found out from the paperwork afterward that they were supposedly "balanced". Unfortunately, the car hasn't been driving right since. The steering feels off, it's jerky, and turns are more difficult than they should be. Clearly, something is wrong with the balancing or the installation. I'm concerned that because I arrived so close to closing time, the job may have been rushed. If they can't do a thorough job that late in the day, they really should stop taking new customers earlier rather than rushing through the work. In short, while the staff was accommodating in terms of timing, the end result was that my car doesn't drive properly now. For that reason, I wouldn't go back.

Manny answered the phone, and he mentioned they were able to accommodate walk ups. When I arrived, he was also the same person that checked me in. He was nice and efficient. Majority of their workers speak Spanish and English. They offer complimentary shuttle services. Though, I couldn't take advantage of this service bc their driver was on lunch. My car needed a full synthetic oil change. If you have a coupon, make sure to present it at check-in. The coupon I had was for an oil change starting at $39.90. It cost $79 after taxes for my oil change; which is about average price nowadays. Since I couldn't use their complimentary shuttle services, I decided to wait there. It took about an hour for them to finish. They take cash or card as a method of payment. Thankfully there's no extra fee for using card.

The gentleman on the phone said the transmission fluid is for life unless I'm towing or carrying heavy loads. When I questioned why I see that it's recommended online he says that dealers will recommend this service all day but if you check the Toyota maintenance manual it says you don't need it. Man! I haven't even been to this shop yet and I'm already getting a good feeling about this place. It's a bit more expensive for an oil change than other places that have quoted me, but I like that they use factory parts including Toyota oil filters. Stay tuned.... 6/29/26 - Brought my Sienna in for an oil change + complimentary 30-point inspection (since it was my first time there). Jared took the van for a spin, brought it back and lifted it up. They found a little oil seepage coming out of the transfer case. I let them know that I did see a transfer case drain/fill on the CarFax report before I bought it. Jared thinks they just didn't torque it properly so they were going to retorque and clean up around the area and keep an eye on it. Worst case scenario, they would need to order a new drain plug gasket and I'd have to come back to get it replaced. Thankfully, the drain plug just needed to get tightened. I was in and out in almost exactly an hour just as Robert promised. Thanks The Toy Shop team!! Pro Tip: they are booked out at least a week in advanced so make your appointment ASAP!

I was absolutely tickled-pink about this place. I could not have been more pleased. I was expecting a $800 repair (as quoted from another mechanic) because I was told my power steering pump needed replacing. Unfortunately, with it being Christmas time, there was no way I could come up with money, so I just parked my car in the garage and went without the whole month of December. Finally, January rolls around (6 weeks later) and I have built my cash flow back up as well as had some time to search online for another solution. Luckily, I discovered Mike's Foreign Cars, and after reading some pretty awesome reviews, decided to have my 2012 Beetle towed there to have the work done. BEST DECISION EVER! When they called me later that day with the estimate, turns out they found a small pinhole in the line leading up to the pump. My power steering pump was perfectly fine. Total cost to have the line fixed? $290 (NOT $800 that Pep Boys quoted me). They were able to do the repairs that same day too! So happy about the timing. If I wasn't so busy spending money on Christmas presents, God forbid, I might have had Pep Boys replace the pump and would have spent $500 too much! The scary thought about that?..... I would never have found Mike's in the first place. I can honestly say the timing could not have played out any better! So thankful!! I was referred to Mike's Foreign Car by Frank Auto Service, and I'm really glad I took their recommendation. My 2023 BMW X5's check engine light came on, so I first took it to the Irvine dealer. The dealer diagnosed the issue and quoted me a pricey repair -- including battery replacements (main and backup), a cabin filter replacement, and fixing the front windshield wiper. That's when I decided to get a second opinion from Mike's Foreign Car. Daniel, who handles the front desk, was incredibly helpful and took the time to explain everything clearly. He was patient even when I called multiple times with different questions. His quote for the battery and air filter replacement was much more reasonable than the dealer's. Even better, the dealer told me I needed to replace the entire windshield washer pump, but Daniel found that only the nozzles and hose were clogged with debris from the washer fluid -- no pump replacement needed. That alone saved me a lot of unnecessary expense. Thank you to Daniel and the team at Mike's Foreign Car for their honesty and great service. I'm also thankful they're so close to home. My only small gripe is that they close early on Fridays (1 PM), but beyond that, everything was perfect. After this experience, they've definitely earned a lifetime customer for all my future BMW service needs. read more

I signed up for Yelp just to leave a comment for this business. I've had many problems with my car partly due to poor maintenance over the years. For some reason I always picked the worst mechanics to work on my car. Finally I checked out yelp and other review websites and found Mikes, I also reviewed his website and the BBB before going to his place. On Saturday my check engine light went on and the car was shacking when idle. On Monday I went to Mikes at 7am without an appointment and he took the car in immediately, he told me it wasn't anything big and would have it done by lunch. Then his wife even dropped me off at my house then offered to pick me up when the car was done. My car was done by 12 as promised and he even gave me a 10% off coupon. He didn't even know I had already printed one from Google the day before. I highly recommend Mikes! I am a VW freak and have been for most of my life. Owning a VW ALWAYS has its challenge. s. Finding a competent and trustworthy mechanic is SUPER IMPORTANT!!!! Mike's is that sense of calm in the midst of a hurricane. I called them up with a very difficult problem, they assured me they could handle the problem. I limped my 91 Vanagon Weekender into their shop from San Juan Capistrano. When I got there they knew right what to do and had the part there I needed to fix it straight away. It ran awesome on the way home...better than in years. Great guys...wonderful experience...except for the price of the part which they could not really control. Very fair, very thorough. And...as an added bonus...they are right up the street from Blakes BBQ which is awesome. Time your appointment to coincide with lunch...that is a wonderful experience. read more

Scheduled an appointment to take my Audi A5 in for an oil change and an intermittent check engine light. I was greeted by Josh, who got my car right in to get checked. Turns out there is a problem I need to get fixed, and Josh showed me in great detail exactly what the problem was and what needed to be done. The shop was among the cleanest I've seen. Based on what I know about dealer prices, my quote is more than reasonable. I was in and out of there in about an hour, and will be scheduling an appointment for the necessary repairs. I've also passed along the info to my friend, who will be bringing his VW Bus in for a checkup/service before a road trip. Based on my initial experience, I highly recommend this shop. read more

I have been taking my 1970 bus to Mike for ten years and will continue to do so as long as I drive a car that he will work on. I have always experienced Mike and his son Josh to be nothing but clear, honest, informative, accurate, and capable mechanics, as well as pleasant friendly people. Mike has walked me through road side repairs over the phone and saved me from the cost of a tow on more that two or three occasions. I was so happy to have found Mike's after calling a handful of other places who basically rolled their eyes and said we don't work on those things :-( I called Mike's, Josh did not hesitate and said, we like working on Eurovans :-) So I brought it in to have them install a transmission cooler. I took my 1966 VW bus to Mike's for a wire assembly installation and tuneup. What I got in return was my bus with gages and lights working that have never worked, and an engine that runs like a dream. Plus Mike discovered debris from the paint shop that had been sucked up in the engine intake manifold. Had he not found that debris, I would now be replacing a burned up engine with a new one. Still the best! I love this family business. Every time my car has a problem the Mikes Family always takes great care of me and my car. The pricing always seems more than fair and the results are always perfect! As a bonus the Super Nice lady (mrs mike) is always happy to give me a ride to work if I have leave my car. I have a 96 VW Jetta. These guys always take care of me. They simply identify the problem and fix the problem. I have been here 3 times and have never had an issue. His technician, Marvin, was very thorough and detail on his inspection. For example, Marvin showed me the actual coolant and differential fluid color from my car versus what it should be. Quoted me a fair price and discounted rate if I paid cash. I dropped off the car at 8 and it was ready by 11. Unfortunately there's no waiting area so I took an Uber home. There is the Original Pancake House down the street (about a $6 Uber ride) or El Farolito Jr i could have killed time at, but I don't think it would be fair to stay for 3 hours. Steve was very professional and spoke to me like a pal, not intimidated or rude in any way like many mechanics can be to women. Price for my 60,000 mile service was extremely reasonable and I look forward to returning for my next service.
