11/17/23 Great experience! I went in to get a Pinot Noir. The owner Chris was happy to give recommendations. I didn't want something too expensive and he got me one of his favorites. Paid for it and left. They also do all kinds of events! The bistro is really nice. Calm & low key! They also have foods that sound great! Look forward to trying the wine on Sunday! Great service & wine bistro! Highly recommended!

I really enjoyed the special goat cheese and olive oil bruschetta. The service here was great. The ambiance was nice. It was packed but the guy next next door at the waffle place opened up more patio seating. The charcuterie board was ok. We really liked the sopressata on it. We were here to try out Mastro Scheidt wines. The Cabernet and the Sangiovese were really good.

Upon arrival, there is maybe two couples in the restaurant, one in the dining room, and one sitting in their gorgeous outdoor patio. The entire restaurant was decked out in oak and woody earth tones with tasteful shapes, mirrors, and outlined with plants. An absolute vibe for these two girls with earth signs. We were met by one single staff member who ushered us to take a seat anywhere of our choosing (it was relatively empty so the reservation wasn't even acknowledged, which we didn't mind. I do not recall his name however he provided us with excellent service. (Wednesday the 15th @ 7:30) Now for drinks, my bestie ordered a strawberry margarita and I had ordered a menu drink that were both poured heavily and tasted phenomenal. We did not feel the need to order any additional glass or it may have turned into a party for two! My girlie and I are oyster people. We are also savory folk. We ordered a half dozen oysters and focaccia bread. To our extreme delight the appetizers were delicious and filling. However, we're on Yelp for a reason. FOOD, FOOD, FOOD. We're best friends for a reason, the steak sandwich caught our attention. It was dressed deliciously and paired with fries reminiscent of those from In N Out, and depending on who you ask that is a WIN! Overall we split the bill and felt it was better than expected to how grand our meal was. I wish I grabbed our servers name, he was a sweet gentleman that waited on two girls who could eat a cow and ask for dessert Definitely a space worth mentioning to out of town friends.

She walked me through the entire process of set up for the event, which included our own decorations, patio furniture, and table placements for food and drinks. She provided me with her cell phone and was very responsive to any questions I had up to the day of the event. Brooke was our server the day of the event. I could not have asked for a better server to make this event amazing. She was very attentive to every guest as it was an open house from 12pm-3pm and people rotated in and out during the entire time. She kept our food table stocked and drinks full. She was very busy. But the real kicker was at the end of the day, I found out that the restaurant was short staffed and she was also providing the same attention to inside tables as well. I never even knew! I would highly recommend this location for parties, whether it is in the banquet room inside or the patio outside (w/ fountain)!!

They only serve beer, wine, and mead, but hard liquor folks do not worry... mead is essentially the hard liquor of the beer world, but tastes way better and at 20%, you'll drink way less! Their taps offer local beers and an array of imports from all over the world. I also learned that they are one of two bars in the entire Fresno/Clovis area that actually serves Guinness on tap! During my visit, the bartender suggested a something unique; a mixture of two different beers. I cannot remember their names for the life of me, but one was a peanut butter scout mixed with a purple-ish beer from house of Pendragon. All that to say, it tasted like a peanut butter and jelly and was delicious! Gracie, my bartender, was super friendly and very informed all the beers and wines they serve here. Who doesn't love a friendly and info field bartender?! If you haven't been here in a long time or are looking for a new place where you can belly up to the bar, the Bog House pub is it, cheers!

The setup itself is just weird; you have to stand outside and wait for someone to come out to seat you. When you go inside, its small and has kind of a "bar meets saddam hussein's palace" kind of vibe, there is gold everywhere in here. Not to mention its a bar that has been converted into a restaurant, its separated by the check-in desk by drapery. One good point is that all of the staff is very friendly and attentive, although I think our waitress had to cover every table in the place, which seems kind of not great for her! We started with some drinks, they were both good, no complaints there. After they came we ordered our food, we ordered them one at a time. First up was the bacon wrapped dates. These were pretty good, the bacon was cooked well and had some good crisp, it paired well with the dates and cheese inside. The walnut was kind of weird and my wife and I both thought for a second the date pit hadn't been removed. Next we got the corn empanadas, these were disappointing but not awful. The dough was cooked fine but it has absolutely no flavor, like nothing at all. The filling was also cooked ok, the corn had good texture, but similarly, had no flavor, about the only thing I could tint was a tiny bit of cilantro. Once you dip it in the sauce that comes with it, things improve, but we both felt the empanadas should be able to stand on their own. The last tapas item we got was the costillas al ajillo, these were both disappointing AND awful. They are advertised as "fall off the bone fried rib tips, garlic infused olive oil, crisp garlic chips" The only thing crispy about this was the meat itself, it was incredibly dry and had no flavor. There was a little bit of olive oil and some minced garlic, but not "crispy garlic chips". Credit where credits due they took if off the bill, but it was just incredibly bad. We finished with the chocolate flan which was quite good, no complaints there. All in all it was disappointing and I don't know that we would come back.

It was an awesome dining experience from beginning to end. The open air kitchen with hearth going at full force was a beautiful sight and it was fun to watch the chefs do their thing while we talked and waited for our food. Pricing at Bulle is also very reasonable. Honestly we thought we spent a lot more but with food and drinks we only went over 200 hundred because of the tip we left. The food was the only part that I would criticize. It was very up and down. Their bread, amazing. We did kind of a hot and cold tasting menu of their small shareable plates, and overall taste and flavor was good but some things were just underwhelming for the ambiance of the restaurant. Oysters were ok, their beet salad and roasted squash was insanely good, duck confit was good but nothing special, but the Iberico ham toast was the show stopper. So like I said up and down. By no means was any dish bad, some just didn't feel like it was living up to the dining experience the restaurant was trying to cultivate. We will be back however, just the service alone would be a reason to return.

The swanky interior includes a multitude of booths, a "whisky room", an open kitchen, a beautifully posh bar that cranks out the best cocktails you'll ever experience, and a respectable glass wine enclosure. The hostess seated us immediately as we walked in right at our reservation time. Our server and table attendants were professional and cordial. We were also treated to the master of creative cocktails, a fellow named Conner (the beverage director), who impressed us with his inventive concoctions all through the evening. I had an Emerald Hour (Irish whiskey, Falernum, apple, lemon, ginger, green anise, and a hint of mezcal), an amazing cocktail the likes of which I'd never enjoyed before. I liked it so much I had two. I also had a Garden Wisp (Mijenta Tequila, Condesa gin, basil cucumber, white verjus, lime, and coriander). This guy is a genius. We first received some incredible complimentary bread. Very different, as this round loaf was sliced into four parts, crisp on top and soft and pillowy inside. We then got an appetizer, Iberico ham toast, which was deliciously exquisite. As my main - a single-bone pork tomahawk, with coconut, pineapple, and peppers on the plate for beautiful presentation. The pork was so tender and flavorful. The owner came by and encouraged me to pick up the bone and eat it clean. Who was I to argue with the owner? Finally, panna cotta for dessert; velvety 58% chocolate with tapioca and white chocolate. Fantastic! Yes, it is pricey, the sort of place you come for a special evening. They did have a dress code, which I'm told has been somewhat relaxed, but you want to dress nice to eat here. We rarely get to Fresno but will definitely dine (and drink) here again in the future.
