I had a great experience here with Delta, she did the Brazilian straightening treatment on my hair. She was very gentle and took her time, I have very long hair and it took no more than 2 hours. The salon itself is very clean and open. I recommend parking in the structure directly across from the salon because there are so few meters. The salon is very spacious and organized, the bathrooms are so cute and very clean. Everyone who works here is very nice, and There's infused water at the front for the clients. read more

The blow dry was a joke!!! Also the wash was terrible, old lady who doesn't want to be there and she washed my hair, I feel that she hates her job. The hairdresser said one price and promised me free cut but then along the way he ended up charging me everything.. AVOID. I bought a voucher on Gilt City for balyage/ombré, which I already had, I just needed a touch up. My usual colorist/friend was booked out of the salon for a few months and after seeing that the owner was a former head stylist at Frederic Fekkai, I bought the voucher which was only $110. I went against my better judgement and didn't turn right back around when I saw how empty the place was on a weekend, not to mention that they needed to highlight "celebrity clients" (casts of reality shows) with framed photos on the wall like a sad diner. It definitely had more of a Groupon vibe than Gilt, but I had already paid for the voucher and touching up existing highlights is not a difficult task by any means... Colette, the "Director of Color," worked on me with a bedside manner I have never experienced before--superfrigid and short. My hair was still wet when I left, so i didn't really know what damage was done (they charge for blowouts on top of your service, which is so tacky, but I actually prefer my hair to airdry anyway). I had somehow left with my existing highlights much brassier than their former state, accompanied by strange bright orange stripes of democratic width and distance starting from my roots. After texting my colorist a single photo of the bizarre highlights with no caption -- she rushed over to my house to start what would be 3 processes to get my hair back to normal. needless to say, I was refunded by Gilt. If you want a competent colorist, try Andy LeCompte, Chris McMillan or Neil George's salons. They all have great colorists who are superfun and actually know what they are doing. You definitely get what you pay for. read more

Yoshi and the receptionist have a limited knowledge on how to handle customer service. I first started going to them after attending the Young Hollywood Event thrown by CAA. In my giftbag, I received two gift certificates for a free blowout. The rest of the table that also paid to support the charity received free blowouts as well. Three of my friends at the table happen to be men. They had zero use for a free blowout so they asked me if I wanted their free voucher. Today was my third time going in to use it. After having my hair blown out today, I presented my gift certificate along with a generous tip for the stylist, as I always do. The middle aged receptionist with dishwater blonde hair rudely declared that this was the third certificate I had used and that this was not allowed. She then hollered across the salon in front of everyone else and told Yoshi that I was yet again using a gift certificate. He said, you can only use one and that's it. I informed him that if this was a rule then why is it not printed anywhere on the gift certificate? Furthermore, if it was such a big deal then why was it not raised to me on my second visit to the salon? That would have been the correct time to politely come over and state that although they had gifted hundreds of free gift certificates for a CHARITY event that they had made a mistake and decided that all the men would not be able to redeem or do what they wish with the free gift certificates that they had been gifted and instead they would go to complete waste. Finally, if they're going to sponsor an event full of both men and women with salon blowouts in the gift bag then they must expect that there will be men at the party. What difference does it make who uses the certificates if they allow an allotted number to be part of the event and then do not print on the certificates that they will only let one person, use it one time regardless of the fact that it does not state it ANYWHERE on the ticket and they did not tell me this after the second time I made an appointment? They should have handled the situation better. I had zero time to deal with this as I was rushing to an event and usually blowouts do not take an hour and a half so I was already running very late. The tone of the receptionist and Yoshi's declation of, "Only one per person" although that was never stated anywhere did not sit well with me. She acted as if I had stolen the gift certificates or made counterfeit copies. I would still like to know what difference it makes who uses the gift certificates if they are all gifted to a table of half a dozen men who don't need their hair blown out. I have been a client of Yoshi's for 15 years back when he was at Frederic Fekkai. I am so excited to be able to patronize his salon. It is a warm and welcoming place across the street from a reasonable parking garage (in BH, what a surprise!). The balayage process Liz and Jessica used on my highlights make them look really natural (I hate the zebra look of foils) and the shampoo felt so relaxing. Yoshi cut my hair and I have never looked or felt better. I told him I wanted a more professional look as I was starting a new job and let him have some freedom and I was not disappointed. I got the most amazing blow out and deep conditioning treatment from Yoshi Hair Studio in Beverly Hills. The conditioning treatment was a combination of Difiaba Italian Hair Mask and Yoshi's signature product called Yoshi's Conc Magic Treatment. My blow out, done by Yoshi himself, looked perfect for three solid days. That has never happened! I got SO many compliments on my hair in those three days, again this is rare! It was hands down the best blow out I have ever had. Thanks Yoshi! During my visit I was able to chat with him about his experience, his salon and his products. 3 stars or "A-OK" is what I would give Yoshi. I had a Brazilian Blowout Gilt City voucher that I went to use. The girl that did it seemed young, but did a great job. Was able to get an appt pretty reasonably. I am not sure I would come back and pay full price (their prices are expensive for normal services without discount), only b/c there are so many places that do Brazilians now for low prices in LA..and it's not like color, where technique is involved. It's just about getting the glaze on your hair and making sure the hair is flat-ironed properly. The salon wasn't that busy and it was a Friday afternoon. Only 2-3 stylists. I've never encountered a salon like this. I don't have easy hair to work with. It's fine, limp and gray. No one has been able to work with my hair and make it consistently look as if everything is brand new! Yoshi is a perfectionist. His cuts are perfect for each individual. It's not a cookie cutter haircut, based on what's in style. It's what's in style AND what looks best on YOU. I think when Yoshi retires, I might have to shave my head!! I have been to Yoshi's many times to see my stylist Jessica. The atmosphere here is simple, and chic. Jessica is a phenomenal talent, with both cut and color. I have been going to her for years, and she is exceptional. Not only is she an artist, but a bright, caring and funny stylist as well. A super fun hairstylist, who does an amazing job? I'm all over it. I am constantly complimented on my healthy, shiny gorgeous hair (thanks mom! AND Jess!) and I always tell people to go to Jess for a cut/color they'll love, and a stylist they'll love going back to. I can't rave about her enough and I'm sure it's annoying when I text her (Yes, I text my hairstylist) to tell her how many people love my new cut/color/blowout/ etc. I couldn't be happier about her doing my hair, and broke out in hives when I had a wedding in NorCal that I needed my hair done for- and the girl was super rude, and botched the job. Colette has either permed or put highlights in my hair for the past 30 years (how's that for an endorsement?!), and I cannot say enough great things about her. Obviously, she is extremely talented and knowledgeable. I am blessed with a beautiful head of hair. It is super straight and baby fine, very silky. Years ago when I used to perm it, people thought it was naturally curly. I no longer perm it, but I have had highlights now for many years, and it looks so natural that no one can even tell. Colette is so good at what she does that for many years when I had a stylist elsewhere, I still went to her for my highlights. Yes, it wasn't the most convenient to go to separate salons, but she is worth it! Several years ago my stylist quit the business so I had to find someone new to cut my hair. We all know how traumatic that can be....but as luck would have it, Colette and Yoshi were opening YOSHI. I am so happy to see their success -- for them and selfishly for me because YOSHI is now my one-stop shop. Yes, Yoshi is supremely expert at cutting and styling hair, but the truth is that all the stylists at YOSHI are incredible. These days Ji-San is my go-to guy, and frankly I couldn't be more satisfied. He knows exactly what I want, and he achieves it. Similarly, if I mention something that he knows won't work or won't be flattering, he tells me....and I'm not too proud to say he's been right. I know I'm in good hands at YOSHI. I would be totally remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Nori. Honestly, I don't believe I've ever had anyone wash my hair and massage my scalp like he does. It is definitely an experience not to be missed. It is so unique that I couldn't begin to do it justice so I won't even try to describe it.
